Prince William was in Istanbul to see Aston Villa win their first title in 30 years

Given how Prince William apparently has a huge temper and he’s constantly throwing “great bellowing tantrums,” I often wonder how William’s staff approaches him about changing some part of his image or behavior. Clearly, the heir is an air-punching football hooliganlook is a bad one for the monarchy and just a bad look in general. So one does get the sense that someone was tasked with telling William, “maybe if you go to another football match, you should try not to appear on camera throwing your fists around and braying like a donkey.”

All of which to say, William’s favorite team, Aston Villa, won a title on Wednesday and William didn’t make a horse’s ass out of himself. It was a keen miracle! William stayed mostly calm – with brief interludes of pensive watching and a few bursts of joy – while watching the Europa League final between the Villains and Freiburg. Aston Villa took the trophy, 0-3, ending a 30-year title drought for the club.

William flew all the way to Istanbul to watch his favorite team win this trophy. Which wouldn’t be so notable, except he’s refused to actually travel to watch football matches when it’s his job. The Lionesses were in the Women’s World Cup final in 2023, and William’s big excuses for not flying to Australia for the final were: “I’m on vacation” and “I’m too much of an environmentalist to fly to football matches, even if it’s my job.” Turns out, he’s more than willing to fly thousands of miles to watch football when it’s not work and it’s not about women’s football. And why isn’t anyone calling him out on his environmental hypocrisy???? Where are all of the “Eco-warrior Peg flies to Istanbul, wastes eleventy billion gallons of petrol” headlines?

Such an incredible philanthropist and humanitarian. And we should all aspire to have his work ethic!

    • Josephine says:

You missed statesman! Truly, this guy is a complete nothing-burger. He is the poster-child for spoiled and useless and is STILL angry about everything.

  2. Smart&Messy says:

He still looks like a braying donkey.

  3. Tessa says:

He still is braying and going on. A vacation is needed after all the energy he expended at the game

  4. `Shiela kerr says:

Access is more important to those gutter rats than truth. They will bend the knee before reporting truthfully on this man and his family

  5. YankeeDoodles says:

Yo, my English peeps, this guy is daring you to fire him. No joke. Scotland, Wales, you know how they would vote. It’s up to you, friends.

  6. Cassie says:

I saw a photo of him sobbing with joy ,bless his cold heart .

He does look like a braying donkey .

  7. Dee(2) says:

I really don’t understand him. He can’t suck it up to travel to watch a good team playing a sport he actually likes, when it’s part of his job, but he’ll travel all over for years watch a team that hasn’t been great , just because it’s his favorite?

Like I said before, I don’t think anyone would begrudge him this happiness, if they could point to anything else that he was doing of substance. I’m really struggling this year to think of anything that he has done major. Yeah, he’s gone to some pubs, and to some organizations in the countryside, and some parties, but as his wife famously asked, what else?

He’s not going to magically become harder working as he gets older and gets more power, this is going to be your King? What a waste of money and privilege.

    • Tessa says:

Did Charles really think scooter would step up the work after he gave him that promotion to prince of wales.

    • Becks1 says:

Honestly, it enrages me. I was trying to think last night why it ticks me off so much as an American and i think its because he’s so Trump-like. He’s going to do what he wants, and no one can make him do anything else. His entitlement and laziness and sense of self-importance are so very Trump-like. His charity work is performative at best.

It just gives off a real “who’s going to check me” vibe and that is pure Trump. No one is going to check Trump. No one is going to check William.

And I cant figure out why not for either of them.

But it also just frustrates me that he is one of the most privileged men on the planet and does nothing with that privilege.

(btw who do we think paid for this little outing of his?)

      • Dee(2) says:

It’s definitely who going to check me boo vibes, and it irritates me for the same reason. Everyone is just given up on reigning in those two. And I imagine that somehow the Royal foundation paid for this, as a tax write-off or he’ll do some meeting and explain how it was actually all work.

And the waste of privilege is what I really don’t get, it’s the same way with Elon musk. If I was worth billions I can’t imagine spending my time just being a troll. I would be on archaeological digs, learning how to weave and make pottery, helping people in environments that could really use my money and the ability to make things happen with my level of power.

All the things that I can’t do because I don’t have money or privilege. Instead with all their money and privilege they’re doing all the things that I can do now. Go to games, the bar, and spend all my time on social media. Just mind-boggling.

Becks1 He pisses us off because he looks (and behaves) like a diehard magat. The briefing w@r against Harry proves he has so sense of accountability and will smear attack anyone to dodge work and responsibility.

  8. AllKnowingSage says:

Kaiser you are wrong I’m afraid. There’s tons of videos showing William making a complete donkeys ass out of himself. It was insane. He even wiped away tears. Imagine, William whose own wife was supposedly diagnosed with cancer, couldn’t bother to muster up any emotion when talking about it. But he cried over football. You literally cannot make this up.

  9. julie says:

There is something really mentally wrong with the prince and nobody dare say anything. As he sounds like a man running away from his life, staying silent is a disservice to him and to the UK.

  10. jferber says:

AllKnowingSage, good point about William’s values. He’s not a real man to care more about football than his insipid wife. If he were charming and handsome, I’d call him a playboy, but he’s a lazy rage monster more than anything else.

  11. Amy Bee says:

There’s absolutely no outrage from the press about William being available to attend football matches overseas but not for royal tours.

    • Lady Digby says:

@Amy Bee Will made 5 front pages today. Football is our national sport. Do they think it makes him look normal and relatable? Republican website need on a daily basis to track senior royal work activities. I’d like the Fail etc to do the same so that Royalists and all UK tax payers have a better idea of how little the heir actually does. Over recent months there has been observations in Private Eye and Ephraim Hardcastle column in the Fail about Will ‘s refusal to go abroad for work. Both are mainstream publications. Okay nothing iike the zapruder type intensity of endless coverage of Meg and Harry which is why Will ‘s work activities need to be examined and scrutinized in mainstream press on a regular basis.

William at the Aston Villa after party. Who’s the blonde? https://x.com/i/status/2057385056453226647

    • Nic919 says:

Would be curious if it is the same blonde that was seen getting in a car with him leaving a London supper club a few years ago.

    • Kim says:

That headline: “Prince William spotted letting his hair down….” 🤣🤣🤣

  13. Chaine says:

He just seems so joyless at all times, even when braying

  14. jferber says:

I’ve never seen him look so genuinely happy as he does in the pic with Aston Villa players and the blonde.

    • Lady Digby says:

Agreed 💯 but let’s not leave out how blissful he looks with Jason at his side. Perhaps Carole is not the only one making him cheese toasties!?

  15. Cerys says:

It’s good to know that all the money paid by tenants to the Duchy of Cornwall is being used for such worthy causes 😡

  16. Lady Digby says:

When Will becomes King is he going to a, hardworking and undertake all the standard duties or b, continue to shape the role of King to suit himself c, work more than he does now but not that much d, exceptional, innovative and transformative who singlehandedly saves the monarchy? Bottom line: how surprising is Will going to be as King? Are royalists going to be disappointed or is Will going to transform the fortunes of the monarchy? Anybody can change and maybe Will is bored with just dabbling and wants to truly be an outstanding King?

    • Tessa says:

Scooter did not step up when his father was sick but had time for vacations
And concentrated on being spiteful to his brother and sister in law. I am not hopeful about his attitude changing

  17. QuiteContrary says:

It’s fine when men cry — admirable, even.

But this jackass only seems to cry when it comes to his favorite team. When his grandmother died, he looked like he’d personally won the World Cup.

  18. Blujfly says:

It’s incredible to me that in the middle of a news cycle about how he and his wife are linchpins of the monarchy, taking on more and more work, etc. the current headlines are how he flew to Turkey because Aston Villa won the European championship (so did Tottenham two years ago and now they’re threatened with regulation) and partied with the team at their hotel after party beginning at 2:30 AM. Wasn’t he suppose to be in Cornwall today?

  19. BeanieBean says:

So, the team are the Villains? That’s interesting. And all I’ve got. 🤷‍♀️

  20. jferber says:

Lady DIgby, I admire your optimism and belief in second chances and all that. But that’s all I’ll say, except, We shall see.

  21. therese says:

Yes, that chin stuck out look is good on him. As far as who drew the short straw in his staff, I should think all they have to do is slap those photos down on his desk and he would be taken aback. Most people don’t like their photos, or are hypercritical of their own image. I simply couldn’t see why he wouldn’t be horrified at how bad he looks. I don’t think these images are much better. He isn’t out of control, but he still looks like he is braying. Maybe I should feel mean at attacking his looks and expressions, which I am pleased to do, but he doesn’t have anything to offset them.

    • TN Democrat says:

Will-not is obsessed with social media and believes his own (planted) pr. One of the parts of Spare that really shocked me was how thoroughly he believed/tried to convince Harry of how terrible Meghan was because she was getting bad press when he and his father were planting most of her bad press. He would never believe a pro-Harry/Meghan site like this, but I bet he takes some football chats very, very seriously. I would also bet he has been criticized to hell and back on some of the sites for being bad luck and looking like a thug when he cheers. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall and see what he posts on some of those chats.

  22. Tessa says:

The beard stubble widens his jaw line look and emphasizes his teeth. Not flattering look to him
