Billy Ray Cyrus defends Miley’s grinding dance, she was “just having fun”

vf

The news came out on Tuesday that somewhere, someone had a video of Miley Cyrus giving some dude a lap dance at the wrap party for The Last Song, last year when Miley was just 16 years old. Hours later, Wednesday morning, TMZ got the footage of this “lap dance”… and it was anticlimactic, to say the least. Sure, we were surprised to see just how well Miley could grind up on a 44-year-old gay dude (her friend, producer Adam Shankman), or how she really had no qualms about rubbing her 16-year-old ass on this or any 44-year-old. But it wasn’t a “lap dance” and it wasn’t some massive scandal, in my opinion. Inappropriate? Sure. But sh-t happens, and in the Cyrus family, if the scandal only goes to “inappropriate” it’s a good day. That‘s exactly what Billy Ray thinks too. He tells TMZ that “It’s what people her age do” and she was “just having fun”. Here’s the video, once again:

Just fun? I guess. But this one is still going to be a massive amount of trouble once she reaches 18. Mark my words. Other people have equally mixed sentiments. Apparently, CNN’s Rick Sanchez (that jackass who got famous for being tasered by some cops for a news segment) went off on Miley, preaching “Could I just speak for a moment as a father and as someone who has an eight-year-old?…That’s troublesome. And just the physicality of it alone and the fact that she’s 16-years-old. And this isn’t posing for a Hollywood magazine or a picture, because we understand that when you get into that arena, you got to play along with that game kind of thing. I am troubled viewing that.” Ashton Kutcher defended Miley on his Twitter, of course, blasting Sanchez: “ur [sic] comments on Miley R completely unwarranted. She’s 17. What is this the movie Footloose? judgment is unbecoming.”

Lainey at LainGossip actually defended Miley too, writing, in part: “She was rubbing up her ass against a dude with no chance of him popping one for her. In other words what you do with your best ‘mo every weekend. I do it with my best ‘mo standing in line at the movies. And in many ways, there’s nothing more secure. Especially for a 16 year old girl who is expressing herself to the music and wants to do so without fear of someone taking advantage of her. Trust me when I tell you other teens are doing way worse in the basement.

“Trust me when I tell you other teens are doing way worse in the basement.”

I couldn´t have said it better.

That top picture is more disturbing than the video. Father and daughter look a little too close for comfort.

  3. NayNay says:

I hope that he remembers that if god for bid, she gets herself into a bit of trouble. “She was just having fun”. I guess without his daughters paycheck, he is still the Red-Neck douchbag he always was,and always will be.

I’m on board with Miley (and Lainey) on this one.

Way safer, and way more fun to dance up on a guy at a gay club. You get to be all grinding without worrying about something poking you, or creating expectations that could get you in trouble later. Fly and the Barn in Toronto? I’m there at least once a month.

    @ NayNay

Something tells me that they’ve got her on birth control. Jesus be damned. They have to protect their investment.

I don’t take much issue with this story as she’s probably grinding on her Aussie boyfriend behind closed doors.

I actually wasn’t that bothered by Miley’s dancing in the video, as lots of people do dance like that. What really bothered me was Adam Shankman. Gay or not, it was creepy seeing how he was grabby towards her. And he’s the adult. I’m actually tired of seeing Miley’s name on every headline. Where’s Adam Shankman’s name? When is he gonna say something?

In the biggest way, I could care less about Miley Cyrus and her ship of fools.
But, when I hear things like “other (kids) do worse (wherever)” I get pissed because not only is that the cheapest cop-out, it’s a very non-caring and potentially dangerous mindset.
Others are always doing worse or better but stay focused, give a shit about what’s at hand instead of wiping it away (passive condoning) with comparatives.
What the underage girl did was inappropriate -and her (repugnant) father’s take was 100x’s inappropriate (and totally in keeping with his abysmal track-record as a parent).
No pass that the 44 year old man is gay, a sexual act with an underage person is a sexual act with an underage person and a stimulated penis is a stimulated penis.

  8. irishserra says:

@M: I absolutely agree with your point. Adam is the adult and gay or not, he should know better.

I am very disturbed by the whole thing, but not necessarily by what Miley is doing. She is acting “normally” for a girl of her age; what bothers me is the lack of concern for consequences of her actions on the part of her father and other adults around her. I suppose that’s the Hollywood way, though…anything goes.

  9. Lynn says:

I get that he’s defending her. After all, he defends her EVERY TIME she comes off like a little slut.
I would throw a fit if I saw my 16 year old daughter dancing with a 44 year old man whom is a friend of the family! I’d punch the dude, ground the girl and watch her moves carefully from then on.
I think it’s irresponsible of Billy Ray not to apologize for his daughter. He and she know very well that little girls look up to her, whether they like it or not, and should act accordingly.

Yes, all teenagers have fun. I’m not saying they shouldn’t. But not all teenagers are famous and have each stupid moment forever caught on camera. Her dad needs to stop defending her and take some control back or he’s going to be a grandfather next year.

  10. Taya says:

Oh please! When a video comes out of Miley’s first gang bang, is Billy Ray going to say, ‘Thats what girls her age do.’ This whole family is disgusting. Considering Miley’s mom was/is a slut, the apple does not fall far from the tree.

  11. Naye in VA says:

Boy what are we going to talk about when she turns 18 an isnt innapropriate anymore. when she can pose provacativley and dance provacatively ( i could give a S$%# about my spelling this morning) and have a live in boyfriend, what are we going to have to say about Miley Cyrus???? nothing at all. So really, i dont think shes doing all that bad

  12. Cinderella says:

She’s only getting started folks….and Billy Ray will be there cheering her on like the inbred he seems to be.

  13. doublestandard says:

Kaiser, why do feel the need to mention the 44 year old was gay every time. Is that supposed to make him less perverted? The video was disgusting. This man was her boss. What ever happened to adults protecting children? Why include the “teens are doing way worse in the basement” quote? Is that supposed to mean everything that deemed less than “way worse” is okay? How do you think kids get to the “way worse” anyway? It’s all a progression. Miley is a child. It’s one thing to talk about adults that way but she’s under-aged.

  14. original kate says:

    this family creeps me out.

  15. mike says:

“She was rubbing up her ass against a dude with no chance of him popping one for her.”

REALLY????? LOOK AT THE END OF THE VIDEO.

    SAD.SAD.SAD. I HATE CORPORATISM. AND SHE’S A 16 BITCH.

  16. flourpot says:

It’s not that she was pole dancing. Or that she did a stupid, slutty video. Or that she’s probably banging her boyfriend. Miley is 17. 17 yr old’s do that. The thing that puts me off is her parents not giving 2 figs about it. “Kids do that.” Well yeah – sure they do. But most of them have to work their ass off to sneak it because their parents are, you know, being parents – not trying to be their kids “buddy” instead. Bad parenting.

  17. Jeri says:

If she hadn’t sent nude pics of herself to boyfriends, moved her other boyfriend in (prior to getting her own house for this one) and all the other acting out (pole dancing), this would not be a big deal. Her parents think all of it is fine, but then, if they disagree they might have to make their own house payments.

  18. Ling says:

Oh chill out you prudes. I danced like that when I was 16 and I still dance like that at 28. It’s dancing, not a sex tape.

  19. Missfit says:

I agree with comment # 5…that “she could be grinding her dude behind closed doors!”

And I can imagine who knows what else happens with cameras shut off and not in a gay club. I can only imagine when a sex tape comes out about her, what will her dad say? “Oh, I was recording it, it’s alright, I made her use a condom and it was in our house.” lmao lame! And like other people said, his comment about the (other kids do worse things in basements) doesn’t mean to care less, you all are so right! That’s your baby, (teenager or not) when it comes to your kids, they are your babies and it’s up to the parent to put their foot down and stand your ground and do what you can to show them some kind of positive ro-modeling, advice, something! To be like…”Honey, look at alot of the girls in Hollywood, Paris, Britney, Lindsey, or whoever, don’t be like that okay, I want you to be a lady and wait till you rebel maybe later as an adult, but still keep your boundaries, you don’t want to end up in the mental hospital or rehab. If you want to get inspired by someone’s music, (depending who it is Madonna or Gaga), just keep yourself dignified.” Or something, I don’t know, just saying what I might say if I were him. That shit is definately not ok for a minor or child with an older dude.

  20. Jillian says:

I feel very offended that Miley’s dad would say that girls her age grind on older men for fun. I’m a year older than she is and, um, haha, no we don’t. Your daughter’s just a slut.
