Did everyone watch Tom Cruise on Oprah on Friday? It was pretty awesome, although Tom wasn’t even one-twentieth as crazy and hyperactive as he was for his last in-studio sit-down interview, which was the infamous couch-jumping incident from 2005. “Tom Cruise: The 2010 Version” was very focused, very “on point” and his voice came close to lulling me to sleep. So… he’s either back on his medication (the medication he was maybe off of in 2005?) or he got some new drugs that make him intense and dare I say… lethargic? He seemed to be speaking very slowly, or was that my imagination?
But the whole interview did me make feel for Tom a little, so I guess it achieved what he wanted. With the incessant Xenu-talk, it’s easy to forget that to most people (like Oprah, and like his fans), Tom is a really nice guy, and a total pro. Tom stayed on message during the first part of the interview, the one-on-one with Oprah. The message? “I’m sane, and heterosexual, and I love my family.” I hate his repetition of “Kate” though. You know everyone associated with Xenu probably calls her “Kate”. She must whisper to herself some nights “Katie, Katie, Katie” while she weeps. He even talked about their charity performance of “Whatever Lola Wants” a few weeks ago. And of course, Tom talked about Suri, of course, and about how whatever Suri wants, Suri gets. Diva!
Suri Cruise plays a pivotal role in the Cruise household as the family’s stylist – not only to mom Katie Holmes, but also to her famous dad.
The 4-year-old, who helped pick out Holmes’s designer outfit for a red carpet event in October, also frequently offers style tips to Tom Cruise, too.
“She tells me what to wear,” Cruise, 47, says on The Oprah Winfrey Show Friday. “She just likes to dress herself, wear whatever she wants,” he adds of the burgeoning fashionista. “If she wants to wear it, she wears it.”
The young Cruise, who’s been spotted sporting everything from Burberry to a Spanish flamenco dress and heels, “is such a happy, easy, fun girl,” says her proud dad, adding that all the paparazzi attention doesn’t upset her.
“She just deals with it,” he says. “We don’t make it a problem. You get used to it after so long.”
Plus, she takes after her mom, who according to Cruise, is “a very relaxed person.”

Tom and Oprah also talked about his two older kids with Nicole Kidman, Connor and Isabella. Surprisingly, Oprah showed lots of current photos of both kids (both are teenagers). I thought Tom and Nicole were both still playing the “you shouldn’t take or show photos of the older kids” game, but I guess not. Tom didn’t seem to have a problem talking about Connor’s burgeoning acting career, or Isabella’s dating life. Whatever Xenu wants, Xenu gets.

He is such an a-hole. I cannot stand him. Remember when Katie Holmes used to smile with her tongue sort of sticking out, and Tom said at the beginning of dating that he loved how her tongue stuck out. Suddenly, she tucked her tongue in and never again we’ve seen Katie’s tongue again. He even manages how she should look when she smiles.

When he was married to Nicole Kidman he always referred to her as Nic.
It was Nic this and Nic that. But it never seemed like a sincerely affectionate nickname, just kind of like a territorial statement, like I named her and now she belongs to me.
And now it’s Kate.
A friend of a friend working w/”Kate” on B’way, and he was shocked at how demanding Suri was. He called her the wort behaved toddler he’d ever seen. He said that Katie is always nervously trying to appease and quiten her, and always looks strung out with nerves. He also said that there is someone with her the entire time she was there. Supposedly the other ladies called this person her minder because she didn’t even go pee alone. Sounds horrific. What did she get herself into, and is it really worth all this?
I wonder about his comment that she is a happy little girl. Look at her photos, most of them look like she either just finished the mother of all tantrums, or is just about to start in on one. Keep indulging her, Tom. Good plan.

I think they really spoil her, and sooner or later that’s going to backfire.
I think during his publicly crazy time, Tom had fired his long time publicist, and we saw the uncontrolled Tom. I think, after seeing how that dinged his reputation, Xenu made him get some new handlers that keep him on message and contain the crazy.
He does seem very controlling of his wives, and I’d imagine that it’s very had to have a happy marriage when one person doesn’t respect the other to make their own decisions.

That is normal for a kid her age she is probably potty training and needs help with hygiene afterwords. The average age is three but some don’t master it before becoming 5, which is normal.
Also, if it was a public bathroom it makes sense, they are protecting her. Someone might know who she is and knows they would pay a lot for Suri to come home or a less dramatic theory she get loss coming
I had to look up her age. But usually I don’t read the ones focused on children. It feels creepy to know so much about a little girl and announce it to the world. Tom and Katie fuel this fire. They make sure they are picture, even when Katie has to hold her to avoid her getting hurt in the rush to get a perfect shot. Did you know she has a site tracking what she wears and who made each piece.
Pour Suri, used by her parents fo exposure,being brainwashed by Scientology from the time she was born, has no schedule or rulses, and doesn’t have friends her age. This and the sense of entitlement are going to only get worse. Kid need all of these thing to become well adjusted.
Tom also disproves that article even with all is disproved by Tom. The gay rumors have gone on for years and spread like wild fires. He has never come out but many people believe it’s true and he can still play a love interest and many of his films have done really well at the box office.

Scientologists believe children are like adults, and should be allowed to do whatever they want. Remember when Katie Holmes was calling Suri a “wonderful woman” that was no accident. To them she is a woman in a child’s body. This is a dangerous way of parenting a child.
They’re basically ignoring the fact that she’s a child, that is very weird.

@Lindsay – I *think* thebutlerdidit was talking about people accompanying Katie to the ladies room, not Suri. I might be wrong, but that’s how I read it. Going to help a child, absolutely, going to help an able bodied adult…not so much.
I’ve heard that Tom was one to give the paparazzi a heads up to where he was before, so I’m not surprised they’re not bothered by their young child being photographed 24/7. She may be “used to it” but that doesn’t mean it’s good for her. It would bother me, a LOT, but it keeps him and his family high profile, which seems important to him.
Why do people do this with their children?? Is it that they don’t have enough strength themselves to deny their children something they want? They feel that giving their child everything they want shows how much they love them? They don’t want to see their child sad or upset? I do not get it. My sister is raising my nephew this way and I do NOT understand.

Tom is a fully devoted member of the Co$ and he is best buds with the top guy there. He has completely given himself and his career over to promulgating $cientology, and they believe celebs are the best way to reach the masses. Remember when War of the Worlds came out and all he was talking about was $cientology? He actually met with President Sarkozy in France – it was some way to smooth the path for $cientology in France (there have been many controversial legal decisions there). The guy is a true believer.
He left Nicole because she was not willing to get 100% into $cientology. Hence the abrupt divorce. Katie Holmes is a Church approved wife. What we saw when he went “nuts” was the truth – look at the infamous YouTube video of him singing $cientology’s praises, doesn’t his demeanor seem the same as in interviews?? He is using their “communications” techniques. Listen to what he is saying. He’s the “only one who can help”?? This is very disturbing.

Needless to say, he raises his daughter with those practices, and forget being spoiled for a second. What if she grows up and doesn’t want to be a Scientologist? Will Tom and his crew disconnect from her, just like many people have suffered in the past? It may seem funny at first, but this stuff is scary.
How can Tom say Suri deals well with the paps? The child constantly hides her face and shows distress? Unlike say, the JP kids, the Garner-Affleck kids, the Stefani-Rossdale kids and a whole host of others.
I hope Suri goes all Angelina Jolie when she grows up. Like, “eff you, Dad. I’m gonna go be bisexual and play with knives and win an Oscar. Piss off.”

Nicole isn’t allowed to be have pics of her taken with the kids. Not him. That was part of the bullying from his lawyers. Months after the divorce, she was seen with Connor and was bullied. That is the real story. He was very mad cause she asked for physical custody of the kids. When she working on the film Australia, I recall seeing pics of Connor there. Then, less than 2 hours later, they were taken down. ??
I don’t know Dannnii, those pictures of Nicole and Connor at the Kids Choice awards were everywhere and she didn’t seem bothered by it. The Australian papers have carried pictures of her with the older kids recently also.
Its a practice that scientology has. They never allow you alone that way you wont bolt and if you look that you might your handler informs on you and you can be sent to a camp of force labor to see where you have regressed (abuse, sleep deprivation, high expectations that your suppose to fail, self criticism). Sounds a little hitlerish. Not sure with Kate being high profile but whats a little in house therapy to Cruise
I kinda feel sorry for the women in Tom Cruise’s life, like they all have to be xenu fem-bots and their free will is sucked out of them. I agree with whatever and katija, by giving in to Suri’s whims constantly she is handicapped from hearing the word “no”. As long as she “acts” like daddy’s little girl he’s ok with it, and there are plenty of fem-bots around to take up the slack of Suri’s ever-increasing demands.
The women in Tom’s house have a choice but in reality Suri doesn’t, she’s going to mimic what she is taught. Sometimes it’s hard to give a spoiled child the benefit of a doubt, but I actually feel sorry for her. Obviously, having loads of money does not always buy common sense; way to be a loser dad Tom.
I don’t think Tom is a bad guy. He does seem controlling and his religion is defnitely not mainstream. But he seems to have alot of wonderful qualities. I think he and everyone in his life would benefit if he worked with a good psychoanalyst (secular) on his control issues. Otherwise, I really do think he has a good heart and seems very loving.

I saw a documentary about Scientology recently, and if it’s true what the show was saying, $cientology is truly a cult. My nerves. Parents get separated from children, loved ones from other loved ones if they don’t agree with their rules. THAT my dahlin’s, is called a CULT.
To be honest, I really don’t mind Tom, (as an actor), but trust me, we are going to see Suri (mean’s “pickpocket” in Japanese, I heard….DUH!) on Supernanny one day…….poor kid.
These people are making total fools of themselves with this child. They are showing the world that they are not cut out to be parents. Good parents believe in limitations, schedules, moderation, sharing, respect from their kids, rules and so forth. Giving her eveything she wants is doing a GREAT dis-service to her. Too bad Suri doesn’t want a decent haircut and combing and a pair of socks. She ALWAYS looks like a dis-sheveled child. The cost of the clothes does mean she is dressed well. And, I do not believe for a moment that the child gives any quality fashion/style advise to her parents. She is said to actually give design ideas. I have to call BS on that, too!!
This child ALWAYS has a spoiled, pouting, mad or sulking look on her face. It is clear that Suri runs the household and they are not even smart enough to be embarrassed by that. Suri’s huge sense of entitlement is only going to only get worse. She will not end up a well adjusted child and may have problems with her peers. Can you imagine trying to get along with child who is so smothered in excess and her own power? A child wearing heels, admiting she has a wardrobe valued at $1 million dollars and so on is sickening! They are creating a real monster here- Being beautiful people and making good movies sure does not mean you have any common sense sense. I thought katie was a real cute girl but she Tom has steered her right off onto Nutjob Lane with him. Someone seriously needs to get these parents counseling!! Pull in the reins, guys!
