Brad and Angelina have good daycare in Texas

This week’s Life & Style has an article titled “Brad and Angelina try to be normal” which is all about their semi-settled life in a suburb of Austin, Texas while Brad films Tree of Life. They say that Angelina and Brad are fitting in well with the community and that Angelina drops off Pax and Zahara to daycare at 8am and picks them up again at 3:30. Six year-old Maddox attends the Lycee Francais School, which is another branch of the bilingual school he attended in both Prague and New York. Little Shiloh stays with her mom while her brothers and sister are off during the day:

The duo, who are living near Austin, Texas, while Brad films… “are just like the rest of us,” Leslie, a parent at Bright Horizons Day Care Center – where Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3, spend their days – tells Life & Style. “They drop the kids off, work, then pick them up.” In fact, Angie, 32, personally brings Pax and Zahara to daycare at 8 a.m. before taking Maddox, 6, to the Lycee Francais School (if Brad’s already on set [and unable to do it]).

While the older kids are out, Angie (who’s more than five months pregnant) runs errands and spends time with Shiloh, 22 months. But she makes sure she and Brad are back to pick up the kids at 3:30 p.m.

The two are clearly trying to give their kids a down-to-earth upbringing. But with security guards posted in the daycare parking lot, private flights out of the Smithville-Crawford Municipal airport and a top-security ranch in Cedar Lake, Texas, to call home, life is far too chaotic to be seen as normal. “There’s a lot of fuss and security now that Brad Pitt is making a movie here,” Kathy Moree, a 7-Eleven clerk in Smithville, Texas, tells Life & Style.

I don’t know how families with many children manage, but they do somehow. It also seems unfair to point to Brad and Angelina as somehow uprooting the kids when they are trying their best to be there for them and to create routines and a semblance of normal life. They move around because they have to be in different cities for work.

It’s hard to keep things stable and the same for kids and I only have one son and things seem to constantly change with my family. We just moved to a new city about three months ago, we’re trying to get our house set up, and the daycare and babysitter situation is hard to manage. My son is three and he definitely feels the change. I just do the best that I can.

Life & Style
points out that the Brangelina family were in New Orleans from March 13 to 17 so that Brad could break ground for the Make it Right charity with President Clinton. They’re now back in Texas. It’s looking more like Angelina might give birth in the lone star state. She still hasn’t confirmed her pregnancy, but there’s really no need to at this point.

We all just do the best we can, CB.

It seems to me that they really are trying to give those kids as much stability as possible, considering their careers and lifestyle. I think they do a pretty darn good job.

  2. CinPin says:

At least these two spend actual time with their kids. I think it would be worse if they stayed in one location, but had to be raised by nannies.

This just proves that they are only a PR prop for her, leaving them in day care like that. And you know the only reason she keeps Shiloh at home is to breed resentment among the others.

She probably picks them all up and tells them all about how she took Shiloh to see Harry Potter and fed her ice cream all day. Instead, as soon as she gets done dropping off the younger ones she locks Shiloh in a room with newsreels featuring the white oppressors beating down to colored peoples of this world while feeding her a diet of brown bread and rusty water.

Not white bread of course, because white is EVIL!!!!!!

We are a military family and as such, my daughter moved for the first time at 6 weeks old. We have moved 3 times since then (reassignments), had a son and my kids still get as normal a life as possible. Everyone likes to say poor, little Angelina kids…wtf? Moving is a part of life. It’s how you handle it and how you present it to your kids.

    Syko, totally agree with you.

Z!!!! I love that kid. Who cares about Brad and Angie– give the people what we want– more Z!!

I used to think they weren’t giving the kids a stable upbringing but now I realize this is what they do for a living and every family is different. Not everyone is living in the same neighborhood for 20 years so their kids aren’t uprooted! Obviously this committed couple are trying to give the kids stability and a good home. Really, the kids are doing fine and I hardly think there’s any need to worry about them.

GAWD Headache! You can’t HONESTLY expect her to actually RAISE her children!!!

She needs those precious hours to plot how to keep Brad in her clutches whilst they get poorer. And make that miserable wretch Aniston cry! Bitch is a scout – always prepared.

She’s been manipulating this exact same plan since she was 12 and had to dump Plan A when she realised Tom Cruise was a gobshite and Keanu was a bit too much of a hippy. 😉

  8. Claire says:

Headache – wow you better lay off the weed or whatever is making you so weird!

  9. Mairead says:

Claire, love, Headache is being ironic 😉 But only because Angie is manipulating her 🙂

  10. Bodhi says:

    😆 @ headache!!

Ditto Syko, et al. Of all the celeb children, I’m the least concerned about this band of babies.

Miss SassyPants Zee is the cutest thing ever! She is gonna be trouble at 15!

  11. Roma says:

I disagree with you, headache. Day care can actually be very beneficial for a child’s upbringing, as it allows them to socialize with their peer group. Imagine if they start school and hadn’t spent anytime with children other than their brothers and sisters; it’d be very tramatic.

  12. Bodhi says:

Roma~ headache is kidding, see above…

  13. headache says:

First of all, it isn’t traumatic to start school without having gone to day care especially if you have siblings.

Secondly, I doubt day care has the edge over in home care or vice versa provided that whichever you choose is a loving, yet firm environment.

Third, if your only issue in my satirical comment was my supposed stance on day care, I worry about you.

    LOL

  14. headache says:

Bodhi, out of all the Hollywood spawn out there I am most concerned about:

    Lila Grace Moss
    The Federspawn
    Alba’s brown baby
    Then Anderson/Lee boys
    Frances Bean
    Sam and Lola Sheen

    I am least worried about:

    The little Pitts
Max and Emme Anthony/Lopez(I still think those are psuedonyms)
    Nahla Aubry
    The Klum/Seal Clan

  15. Bodhi says:

Ditto about Lila. Geez, I wonder if her mom even recognizes her.

I’m pretty concerned for the Cruise kids too. And not just because I loathe her mother & TinyTom, $cientology is no good.

I think Harlow will be ok too

  16. headache says:

Bodhi, I’m sure there will be enough money for the therapy. hehe

Besides, Juliette Lewis was raised a scientologist and she’s come out okay.

Then again, Joaquin and sibs were raised in the nutjob church of whatever the hell cultist weird shit it’s called and one of them is dead, Joaquin clearly has emotional issues he’s self medicating with alcohol and god knows what the rest of them are up to.

    Poor Connor, Isabella and Suri.

zahara looks like she smoked some weed before that photo was taken.

  18. Bodhi says:

And the Masterson boys seem to be ok too. Praise Xenu! 😉

  19. MRod says:

Yeah…I wonder if Marlon Brando spent as much time with his kids?

  20. Kay says:

I can’t wait for 15 years ahead and these kids come out and tell us who their mother used to do what. I am pretty sure we will hear stories of sexual abuse at some point. Her weird brother too.

  21. Anonymous says:

a large majority of celebrity children will have to go through some sort of therpy, as they get older because of the negative stories they will read or hear about their parent(s).
