Cristiano Ronaldo’s mom & sister will probably raise his 1-month-old son

Cristiano Ronaldo really is a father now! According to multiple sources, his son was born about a month ago, and most people are saying that it was absolutely a surrogate thing. Ronaldo contracted out to an American too! Apparently, she’s a New Yorker, and Ronaldo has been in new York the past few days, spending time with his son and preparing to take him home. Ronaldo managed to keep his current girlfriend too – although many sources say that Ronaldo didn’t even tell Irina Shayk that he was going to be a father. Page Six paints the picture of a man on top of the world, who lacked the one thing that would make it all worth it: a baby. Are you buying it?

It looks like the rumor that Portuguese soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo used a surrogate mother is true. The superstar — who was recently featured nearly naked on the cover of Vanity Fair — revealed on Twitter over the weekend that he’s a father to a baby boy who will be under his “exclusive guardianship.”

According to sources, the mother of the child, who Ronaldo said “prefers to have her identity kept confidential,” recently gave birth to the boy in New York. Ronaldo arrived over the weekend after Portugal was eliminated in the World Cup.

Ronaldo is planning to raise his son in Spain, where he plays for Real Madrid. His sister, Katia Aveiro, told a Portuguese newspaper that the baby, weighing 9 pounds, 8 ounces, is the spitting image of his brown-eyed, dark-haired daddy. Ronaldo was said to have planned to have the child with the mystery woman months before he met his current girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk.

The handsome athlete wants a baby, said a source close to him, because he “has millions, has a great career, but he didn’t have a child.” Ronaldo, who lost his father five years ago, is close with his mother, Dolores Aveiro, who sources say will likely take care of the boy with him.

Despite the bombshell, Shayk and Ronaldo have been inseparable since he landed in New York on Friday. Yesterday, they were spotted shopping on Madison Avenue before Ronaldo returned to his hotel to watch the Netherlands beat Uruguay, 3-2 in the World Cup semifinals.

Shayk remains supportive of him but has no comment, according to her rep. Postings on her Facebook fan page earlier this week claiming she was “devastated” were fraudulent, added the rep.

“It seems Irina is still rolling with it. It’s a hard thing to stomach because every day you read something new about the situation,” said the source close to Ronaldo. His rep didn’t get back to us.

[From Page Six]

I’ll buy that his mom and his sister are probably going to be raising the baby and that Ronaldo will probably be more like a “cool uncle” rather than a proper father. But we’ll see. I have to admit, if Page Six’s sources are correct about Ronaldo’s reasoning, I was rather touched. Sure, it would have been interesting if Ronaldo actually chose the old-fashioned route and found a nice girl, got her knocked up and spent serious time with the mom during her pregnancy, etc. But I’m not going to knock a guy for having just as strong biological/parental urges as a woman. (Some) men get broody around babies too. Maybe Ronaldo just wanted to be a dad without any baby-mama drama.

By the way, who is this other piece of orange beef jerky? Is that Ronaldo’s secret boyfriend? Hm?

I think the girlfriend on the side is his showpiece and he really is gay

  2. Pete says:

Again: the hell he planned on having a baby during the World Cup. This is ridiculous!

  3. gimmieabreak says:

    Can you say Ricky Martin?

  4. CadieBelle says:

Congratulations to him!!! I hope he makes a good Daddy.

  5. XYZ says:

I think RICKY MARTIN can offer him some tips (hint, hint). RONALDO, ure such a hypocrite!!!

  6. YT says:

Congrats to the new dad !!!

  7. katie says:

why would a young guy want a baby at his age and then get his mother and sister to raise him if he supposedly wanted a child so much? doesnt make much sense to me. if he wanted a child wouldnt he have more of a hand in raising him rather than having an uncle type of relationship?

  8. Ogechi says:

Some people have problems. Always identifying gay. Must every celeb be gay? What a disgusting insinuations. Gay is not normal and everybody must not be gay.

  9. maya says:

I think Cristiano is pulling a Ricky Martin. Why would a young, attractive, heterosexual man want to use a surrogate to have his child unless he was gay? Cristiano is gay.

  10. Snarf says:

Why do so many people think men can’t have paternal insticts? Some guys really want children.

  11. embertine says:

Ogechi, gay is well within the range of normal for human sexuality.

    Look it up.

  12. Maddie says:

I can understand his reasoning, how many men get the girlfriend or wife pregnant, only to have that relationship sour to the point of him shelling out thousands a month for a child he doesn’t see 24/7.

As for people posting he’s gay, that’s kind of sad when people can come to that conclusion because he wants a child and doesn’t beat on or disrespect the women he is with.

Is this where we are, a couple of months ago people were picking on some male star because he was caring the diaper bag, so most of you believe that if you respectful to your wife, your secretly gay, henpecked, or she the beard, but if you cheat, your scum, if you beat on your girl your the devil, really posters make up your mind for freaking sake.

  13. Gypsy says:

    @maya,

The difference is surrogate = Thousands of dollars.
    Intercourse = Millions of dollars

  14. BB says:

Ugh, I am sorry but if it is true that his mum and his sister will raise the baby then he is a douche. I am all for single parents, be it mums or dads, but if you wanna be a single parent, you better be prepared to do the parenting. It’s ok to have help, but you still gotta do the main part of the raising and parenting. Ricky Martin at least took a break to be a hands-on dad.

This child is gonna have serious abandonment issues with no mum and a dad who just wants to be more of “an uncle”.

  15. BB says:

Forgot to add: I wonder how would people react if this was a woman who was going to be a single parent and then decided that her mum or sister would do the raising… I bet she’d get less of the “awww” reactions. I am assuming it’s cos people expect women to give up their careers more easily or take a break than a male athlete.

  16. Anon says:

I really don’t buy that a man who is only 25, has a great career – would have planned on having a child born right in the middle of the World Cup.
Like, really? To me it sounds like he wanted the baby to be raised in Spain/Portugal, and paid off the woman to give the child up. I’m sure the identity is kept safe, as she would have been ripped apart for giving her child up for money.
If he had wanted a baby so bad that he resorted to surragacy, wouldn’t he have planned it better then having the child born mid World Cup? And wouldn’t he actually want to SPEND time with the baby, instead of not even being in the same country?

  17. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

He just grosses me out to look at him. I don’t find him attractive at all.

Oh yeah, and why have a surrogate to have a child and have your mother and sister raise it? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a child.

  18. Ogechi says:

    @embertine: thanx.

  19. bros says:

a 25 year old man doesnt use a surrogate in NY for his mom and sister to raise. What the hell kind of GD story is this? is no one else creeped out by the oedipal incestuous whiff to this? he wants to raise a baby with mommy and sis? CREEPYYYYYYYYY creepy mcKreepy. and he planned it in the middle of the world cup when portugal came in as a pretty strong team? no, sorry. this whole thing is fishy and weird.

  20. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

I wouldn’t presume to put words into another person’s mouth, but since Ogechi has been a regular poster, I haven’t noticed bigoted statement coming from her.

My interpretation of the statement went thus: (I’ll use ‘we’ in the most general sense)

We seem to have this tendency to default to gay panic whenever a public figure is too private for scrutiny, or so open it produces a ‘lady doth protest too much much’ effect. We start finger-pointing and making a lot of big leaps based on not much at all in a sort of ‘we’ll, if you’re not gay, prove it to us’ kind of schoolyard tactic. We can pat ourselves on the back for all of our ‘progress’, but if we’re constantly reverting to giggling with our friends whenever said person walks by, it shows that maybe we’re aren’t as evolved as we’d like to think we are. I read ‘normal’ as meaning that gay persons are part of a minority, and as such, this kind of climate (where homosexuality is often treated as a topic for ridicule–until someone actually does come out of the closet, after which s/he is so ‘brave’) doesn’t exactly make us look that the saints that we would purport ourselves to be.

I might be positing my beliefs onto her comment, but she can verify if my interpretation bears any similarites to what she was saying if she decides to do so.

    ***

I freely admit that I didn’t read the whole entry, but why have a child if you’re not going to bother to raise it? Don’t we have enough of that in the ‘love child’ category (I’m one of them, keep on your britches–seriously)? People like me who fall into the ‘Accidental Bastard’ category is one thing, but to purposely have a child with no intention of raising it? I guess he’s got the money and family ties, but unless there is dynasty building afoot, the kid is going to find this mighty strange one day.

  21. Leek says:

There just seems to be something odd about this story.

  22. JoElla says:

I agree with BB. The gossip blogs and posters are so quick to lable “gay” at a drop of a hat. And no, there isn’t anythign wrong with being gay.

And Jo “mamma besser” well said, very well said.

This story just feels odd.. and hopefully the little one is raised with lots of love and huge amounts of ‘belonging’

  23. lilred says:

How is this different from a woman going to a sperm bank and picking out the kind of man she wants to “father” her child?

  24. Larissa says:

theres really nth wrong with being gay, but then trying to sell the image of womanizer is just beyond ridiculous!

Surrogate or not this baby was SOLD and that´s a terrible thing for any living creature.
Just hope baby Ronaldo will be truly loved and cared no matter who raises him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. cat says:

If he wanted this child so badly why is he partying and shopping in NY, it was an accident and his PR people are doing their best spin patrol to make it look like something he was always planning, bull the mother was either underage or a professional and he paid her off and gave the baby to his family to raise, though I’m sure he’ll make it a photo op for the mags, how much for baby’s first pics. Let the bidding wars start. I feel for the baby.

  26. Marjalane says:

Look at that picture of him with his “friend”. Study it. For anyone who’s spent any amount of time with gay men- there’s not even a question. They’re even dressing alike, and I’m not buying the “Eurotrash hetrometrosexual thing. He’s gay, and his professional image won’t allow him to be openly gay, so he usually drags around a beard, but you can only keep that glorious, greasy, gayness contained for so long. It got out in THAT picture.

  27. Lia says:

I dont really care if he ends up coming out later. And he’s pretty hot but maybe he wants his own kid that cant be taken away even if things dont work out with a wife! The mother usually ends up with the child even if he does nothing wrong…and then pays a huge unrealistic amount of money every month to have his ex raise his child! Come on you all know regular peeps get about 300 to 600 and in some cases less per child in divorce..stars want 10k and up!! He just doesnt want to give his money away to any gold digger..makes sense to me!!

  28. lena says:

Well I read somewhere that the mother is underage, like 15 or 16 and he knocked her up.

  29. Strawberry says:

HE’S JUST EUROPEAN! Almost all of them dress like that in Southern Europe, look that up!

  30. pebbles says:

yeah, that’s a pretty hot friend or bodyguard either way……if he is gay, I hope he’s hitting it.

  31. Patrice says:

Wait a second, WTF IS GOING ON HERE?????!!!! The guy is in his 20’s, has been in a relationship with a woman for some time now, but used an f*ng SURROGATE to have a baby??? Why am I the only one who finds that completely
    beyond bizarre?

I don’t know about what mental state Irina is in but if my boyfriend told me that he wanted to have a baby with a stranger and raise it alone while the two of us were still together, I’d be asking a lot of questions then packing my bags…this is so weird.

  32. Patrice says:

Snarf: Yes, some men “really do want children”, but they usualllly turn to the women that they are currently romatically involved with for it, not turn to surrogacy while they have a girlfriend sitting at home! DUH.

  33. Tia says:

Ogechi, please educate yourself before you spit out hateful incorrect information. Being gay is VERY normal and GAY people are everywhere and have wonderful healthy loving children and families. Please get out of the ignaramous dark ages and EDUCATE yourself, so you don’t embarass yourself in the future.

  34. Kait says:

I think this story is bull. He got someone knocked up while partying in the states and instead of leaving it for her to smear him all over the press he paid her off, took the kid, and is having his family raise it.

What 25 yr old man in a career like his (where he has a very limited time to make a whole lot of money) is going to run out and hire a surrogate to have a baby for him, especially when he has a girlfriend, a love of partying, and isn’t going to actually raise the kid? This spin is ridiculous.

  35. Seth says:

FYI – In the UK, boys got to the club with boys and girls with girls, then then they pair up inside and leave with each other, I have always liked that.
He’s not gay just your average European footballer with a Rolodex filled with willing girls, they run through these girls so quickly and their greatest fear is pregnancy take their money.

He’s what we call a hetero-pansy, when in a club with these guys the Euro-trash perfume is overwhelming.

  36. TG says:

@Gypsy – You are on to something! I loved your post and you are so right. Now if only those other idiot rich celebs would get that smart.

I have never found him attractive he looks like a show pony and is too greasy and guys that get around or at least ar known to get around are big fat turnoffs to me.

  37. OhMySweetStars!!!! says:

I gonna go with the under-age girl story- sorry, it looks like his style…
LOL@ TG he reminds of Lumière from beauty and the beast, lol. he’s good looking (I’m too lenient, I know, but I don’t like calling ppl ugly), but not my type.

  38. Ruffian9 says:

“why would a young guy want a baby at his age and then get his mother and sister to raise him if he supposedly wanted a child so much? doesnt make much sense to me. if he wanted a child wouldnt he have more of a hand in raising him rather than having an uncle type of relationship?”

    EXACTLY!

  39. Jen says:

His boyfriend has better hair. I bet Ronaldo is a little pissed on the inside.

  40. Katie says:

maybe he just had the child to appease his mom. he seems like a huge mama’s boy. however if he is gay, maybe he and bachelor jake can run off together and we won’t have to hear about them anymore….

  41. Marjalane says:

    #39

    heh.

  42. Shay says:

Why would a man have a baby via surrogate if he was heterosexual?

  43. Jennifer says:

He absolutely knocked some chick up and then paid her off big-time. She probably is very young and he’s setting her up for life. It doesn’t make sense any other way. He is a known womanizer, unlike Martin. But then again, maybe he’s gay when he’s partying and straight when he’s not…

  44. GatsbyGal says:

From this article’s thumbnail, I thought this was a Jersey Shore story. That bastard can get pretty orange.

  45. gg says:

Great. So he buys a baby and then makes somebody else raise it. How can this be a good thing?

He’s either a whorey type who banged some chick and paid her off to keep the baby to himself, or an accessories queen that buys babies because it’s something else he can purchase, like a trampoline or a ski-doo. Either way he’s still a toolbox. I think the truth probably is a bit of both anyway.

Also, he sends my gaydar off, and he’s got a cute boyfriend. Red and rainbow flags are waiving like mad, trying to get his sham girlfriend’s attention.

  46. michele says:

For God’s sake, this guy is Hugo Ronaldo, Cristiano’s brother.

  47. Confuzzle says:

    Looks like Benjamin Bratt.

  48. M says:

He’s so orange, he could pass for a piece of tandoori chicken, ugh!

  49. XYZ says:

Dear CRISTIAN RONALDO, Ive got a few words for u: GET THE HELL OUT OF THE CLOSET! U’re not fooling anyone, at least not me! Its all too rotten not to realize that.

  50. Marjalane says:

I just saw a picture of him on another site where he’s sitting by a pool admiring his painted toenails. Is this also a Eurotrash thing? Good God.

  51. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

    @JoElla: Thanks.

I had no idea he was so young. Granted, I had no money at that age, but financial stability aside, if my family was expected to raise a child of mine whilst I went off and had my career, they would have destroyed me. He has such a long time to have a baby of his own accord–and with whoever he may be paired at the time when they make that decision to become parents. Strange.

  52. Anj says:

Football is the most overrated sports in the world.

  53. dutchy says:

Thank you photographer now im really sure he’s gay.
    CRISTIANO I LOVE YOU
