John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher all get hitched

What was it about July 10 that made everyone want to get married? Strange. Anyway, yesterday, Saturday, two somewhat prominent celebrity couples got hitched. First, we have American Office star John Krasinski and English crumpet Emily Blunt marrying in a private ceremony in Italy. Their reps confirmed to People that the wedding took place, but Us Weekly actually has some of the wedding porn details (Clooney was there!):

That’s amore! Emily Blunt and John Krasinski wed at the Villa D’este in Como, Italy, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

“John and Emily were married on Saturday in a private ceremony,” Krasinski’s rep tells Us.

“It was an outdoor ceremony and absolutely beautiful,” says an insider. George Clooney and Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were in attendance; Blunt and Krasinski had been staying at Clooney’s nearby Lake Como estate since the July 4th weekend.

“It was an official ceremony. They are husband and wife,” adds the source.

After about a year of dating, The Office star Krasinski, 30, proposed to British actress Blunt, 27, with a 3-carat Edwardian diamond and platinum ring from Neil Lane, worth $100,000.

Krasinski told Access Hollywood that the proposal was “very casual” but very emotional, too. “She did cry after I cried, and we cried and then everyone around us was crying,” he said.

“She’s a wonderful girl,” Krasinski gushed at last year’s Emmys of his fiancee.

“So many people say, ‘You know when you know,’ and it’s true,” Krasinski added of his love. “It’s all true.”

Reps could not be reached for comment.

Oooh, I wonder if they actually got married at George Clooney’s Lake Como villa? That must have been beautiful. Do you think Elisabetta Canalis was like “George when are we going to get married?” If she did, she’ll be out the door soon enough.

Next, we have country singer Carrie Underwood and her hockey player Mike Fisher. They were married in Atlanta, Georgia, apparently, and it was a more traditional affair then Clooney’s Den of Sin and European Sex.

Carrie Underwood is a married woman! The American Idol winner, 27, wed her hockey player beau Mike Fisher Saturday night near Atlanta, Ga., UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

The two walked down the aisle in front of more than 200 guests at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., in a ceremony estimated to cost more than $500,000, according to RadarOnline.com. Underwood and Fisher, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, said their vows under a lakeside tent.

After a year of dating, Fisher, 30, popped the question last December with a 12-carat ring worth about $800,000. “We’re both obviously excited and very happy,” Fisher said at the time. Underwood hired a wedding planner, but also ironed out many of the details herself.

“I bought a lot of magazines and am cutting out pictures,” she told Us in January. “I have a folder and I cut out pictures and glue them in. It’s in kind of a binder thing.”

Fisher was tasked with coordinating the honeymoon. “[Planning] that was Mike’s project,” she said at the CMA Fest last month.

“It’s a surprise. I have no clue where we are going, which is nice. I know it will be warm, that’s about it.”

The Grammy winner said she wasn’t worrying too much about slimming down before her wedding.

“I’m not a big stresser — Mike would love me if I weighed 800 pounds,” she told reporters after taking the entertainer of the year award for the second straight year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April.

Underwood first met Fisher backstage after an October 2008 concert in Toronto. “I made sure he came in with some other people,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I was like, ‘What if he’s weird?'”

They made their first public appearance as a couple in January 2010 at an event in Quebec. After nabbing Video of the Year at the CMT Awards last month, Underwood gushed to Us, “No matter what happens, I go home a winner. I have the biggest prize, the guy sitting next to me. Win or lose, he is proud of me. Of course, it’s nice to share the good times too!”

Congratulations to both couples, I’m sure they will be very happy. Does anyone want to place any bets on pregnancies, divorces, etc? My bet is that Carrie will get knocked up before Emily Blunt, but that Emily and John’s marriage will last longer. But you never can tell with those British girls, really. Emily seems very down-to-earth, and there have already been rumors that she’s pregnant. Honeymoon babies for both?

If Carrie had slimmed don for her wedding she would practically be invisible

The girl is a beanpole already – scary!

  2. flutters says:

I wish both couples the best 🙂 They all seem like good eggs who prefer to let their work speak louder than their celebrity.

  3. mln says:

When I look at Emily & John I feel like I am looking at my friends parents or something (eventhough they are younger than me LOL) So I am guessing they will stay married a long time. Mike Fisher has a big chin but I wish him and Carrie a long marraige also.

  4. Boredom says:

Added to the list of weddings a few other celebrities:
    1. Past MTV Vj LaLa Vasquez and NBA player Carmelo Anthony
    2. Martin Lawrence and his girlfriend
    3. Kevin Liles
    Info from multiple online sources.

July 10th is the official wedding day of choice I guess

  5. ! says:

Lala and Carmello Anthony got married, too. Or do they not count because they’re black? *eyeroll*

  6. Kaiser says:

^^ I just have no idea who they are, honestly! Who are they?

  7. PrettyTarheel says:

@Flutters, I agree about Emily and John, but Carrie is supposedly a notorious pain the rump with everyone who works with her. I would imagine being married to her involves a lot of ducking (whatever is flying at your head).

  8. Emma says:

Lala and who? I don’t know who they are either. Sweetie, it’s not because they are black, it’s because they are obscure. I just wish we could all let all of this racism and racism paranoia. It’ll never end until we let it.

  9. bite me says:

two actors having a lasting and healthy marriage, nah…i think carrie and mike have a better chance

EDIT: yeah lala used to vjay for mtv and carmelo is a basketball player… lala is friends with that cat woman, kim something

  10. Isa says:

I know who Lala is. She was an MTV Vjay. She was on around the time when I was old enough to start watching it. Isn’t she also the sister of Ludacris?

She hasn’t done anything else except MTV right? So it’s not surprising that no one knows who she is.

  11. Anon says:

I think someone needs to re-read the first sentence. Somewhat PROMINENT celebrity couple, a.k.a we should know who they are.

  12. jc126 says:

I know who Carmelo Anthony is, but not Lala. He’s an NBA star.

  13. Oi says:

Iggles, the new screen name isn’t fooling anybody.

I give Underwood and the hockey player about 3 years.

Emily and John maybe a long time. i seem to remember a blind item being attributed to her that she was using him for publicity, but I hope that’s not the case because I love him.

  14. iriD says:

So now she’s Carrie Fisher? Too funny.

  15. Sens Fan says:

I’m an Ottawa Senators fan (the team that Mike Fisher plays for, but not a hardcore Fisher fan).

Mike is known to be very involved in his church and participates in some sort of hockey ministry.

I sense that the Mike & Carrie marriage will last longer than the John & Emily one. Carrie strikes me as the type to hold on to “appearances” than her own happiness.

  16. cringe-worthy says:

    CanalAss was not in attendance.

  17. CB Rawks says:

Emily Blunt is adorable. I’m sort of over Krasinski though.
Carrie Underwood’s guy is creepy looking.

  18. Iggles says:

Oi – Wow, you’re certainly living up to the “bitchy” part of celebitchy. I suggest you save venom for the celebities. The personal attacks are so lame.

Don’t really care about any of these celebrities (though I wish them all the best of luck).

  19. Chrissy says:

Had to laugh at the “He would love me if I was 800 pounds!” Clearly, Carrie is deranged. Yes, sweetie, I’m sure if you packed on 700 pounds he would still love and adore you. Ha.

Love John and Emily. Hope they have a great life together! (I wish that for Carrie and her hubby too, even if I don’t particularly care for her.) :o)

  20. Chrissy says:

Oh, wasn’t there a Blind Item awhile back about a couple getting married this summer in Italy? The woman was foreign-born so everyone was thinking they were meaning Clooney and Elisabeth … wonder if this was the couple in the blind item???

  21. Maren says:

god, kaiser, are you taking any rest ever!!!???
its sunday, thanx for the posts anyway…

  22. L says:

Is it even possible for Carrie to lose any more weight? The girl need to go on a all-taco diet stat.

I get bad mojo from the hockey player, and pro sports guys aren’t usually the most reliable husbands. I think Emily and John are adorable though. Such a better fit for her than that Buble guy.

  23. OC lady says:

I really like Emily Blunt as an actress. She was realy good in The Devil Wears Prada and Young Victoria.
    They make a sweet couple.

And some of us stopped watching MTV years ago, so I don’t know who LaLa is either. I do know Carmello Anthony as my bf is a basketball fan.

  24. ksmit says:

Oh come on, if you follow Kim Kardashian on twitter you have come across LaLa Vasquez. Carmelo Anthony, on the other hand, played college ball at Syracuse and now plays for the Denver Nuggets. He’s a pretty big deal. Pay more attention to sports, ladies! It can help you get a boyfriend and you might find you actually enjoy watching it. Based on athletic talent, Melo is way more well known than Mike Fisher.

  25. Ellie says:

btw martin lawrence also got married on the 10th

  26. Della says:

Fair enough, people may not know who Lala Vasquez is, but Carmelo Anthony and Martin Lawrence are just as prominent and have as big if not bigger name recognition in some circles than Mike Fisher, John Krasinki or Emily Blunt.

Seriously, stand on the corner of any major city and name check these people. I’ll bet more people recognize Melo’s name than Emily Blunt’s.

In a country like the U.S. that is as sports mad as it is where the term ‘March Madness’ has immediate recognition, I guarantee people know the name of the kid who gave Syracuse it’s most recent basketball championship only a few years a ago.

  27. CB Rawks says:

Della, when you say March Madness, I think of Bai Ling and SWINTON. 🙂

  28. lucy2 says:

Villa d’Este is where they got married, it’s a stunningly gorgeous place with incredible gardens. I think it’s a hotel/resort too, but I’m not sure about that. I went there 10-15 years ago, and it was incredible – a totally perfect place for a wedding. I like both John and Emily a lot, I wish them a lot of happiness!

  29. canadianchick says:

Krasinki was hilarious in Its Complicated and that indie film with Maya Rudolph. I want that talented Emily Blunt to get an Oscar soon though that may doom her marriage. They’d make cute babies together.

  30. Serendipity says:

It’s my wedding day too, 11 years ago, something about 7/10 🙂

  31. gen says:

Do you think they actually say “Till death do we part” without laughing? Or maybe they just leave that part out.

  32. mojoman says:

Not sure about fisher’s jawline, something is off- centered about it, maybe just the pic shot. Other than that, wishing all couples (including Martin Lawrence, Lala whoever and krasinski-blunt) all the best and congrats!

  33. Tia C says:

“My bet is that Carrie will get knocked up before Emily Blunt, but that Emily and John’s marriage will last longer.”

Agreed! Not only will it last longer, I bet it will be a happier marriage. Pro athletes don’t strike me as the best choice for husbands. But of course you never know.

  34. Jeri says:

I think Emily is beautiful & I have never heard anyone speak badly of her. Congratulations & Happiness to them all.

  35. imo says:

Martin Lawrence doesn’t ring a bell either eh? LOL @ that. Whatever. Congrats to all couples, even tho I personally have no clue who Mike and Emily are.

  36. danceprancer says:

It seems a guy like Mike would ONLY date/marry someone like Carrie:beautiful, blonde, rich, famous and under 30…I agree pro athletes are prone to cheat w/the youngest, hottest things they can find at the moment. Mike will be on to the next one once Carrie gets big and pregnant..and/or she stops making money..Carrie um… sweetheart? Mike would NOT look at you the same way if you weighed 800 pounds or as another poster in Us Weekly said,if you only had 800 dollars!Face it Carrie if you didn’t look the way you do and you didnt have money to burn,Mike would not look twice at you,let alone date and marry you!

  37. danceprancer says:

Plus it seems Mike and Carrie are having a hard time agreeing where to raise their family when they DO have one. Carrie wants to raise a family in Tennessee;Mike wants to raise a family in Canada. I hope they can agree on that or this marriage will be over before it has even begun…

  38. Delta Juliet says:

“Pay more attention to sports, ladies! It can help you get a boyfriend and you might find you actually enjoy watching it.”

    Wow, really? LOL

And for the record, I knew Carmello’s name, but not Lala. Maybe the difference is that with the other couples, BOTH people are (relatively)well-known. I’m pretty sure race has nothing to do with it.

  39. The GRN Guy says:

lol. I cannot believe that C. Anthony’s finally in NYC. Feels like it was never going to happen. The Knicks are finally a force to reckon with!!
