So I guess we have to cover this dumb story. Snooki, of Jersey Shore “fame”, was arrested on Friday in New Jersey. The charge seemed to be some variation on drunk and disorderly – Snooki was “drinking in public… J-WOWW was spotted trying to talk Snooki into going back into the house. But Snooki was out of control and seemed drunk,” according to Radar’s sources. For those keeping track, she was drinking Patron, and she was officially charged with disorderly conduct.
The chief of police told Radar at the time of the arrest: “She is in our lockup right now, she is under arrest for disorderly conduct, we are waiting for the police report to come through.” She didn’t have to take a blood alcohol test, though, because she wasn’t driving. Small mercies, although I give her credit for that: so many dumb, drunk a–holes get behind a wheel, so I guess Snooki is better than them. She was released later on Friday, hopefully after she sobered up a little. One source mentioned to Radar, “If no one is with her, Snooki can keep drinking until she passes out.” And her ex-boyfriend Emilio Masella told Radar: “I think she needed this to draw attention to herself and keep up her fame level. She has more competition with the new girl. This is typical, I’m not surprised that she got arrested.”
I have to admit, I think disorderly conduct is a bullsh-t charge. Lots of college towns have cops that hand out disorderly conduct charges just to be a–holes, to get college kids to pay fines and bring in revenue for the town. Now, I have no doubt Snooki was actually disorderly, and perhaps even a threat to herself and others. But come on, it’s not like this is some huge deal, in my opinion. The chick was sh-tfaced in public, whatever. I can’t believe it, but I actually have some sympathy for her. Oh, wait, she’s an idiot. Sympathy over.

If someone isn’t with her, she’ll drink until she passes out? What if someone IS with her? She drinks until she ends up having sloppy drunk sex with the person with her? This is sad. The woman has an alcohol problem. She needs Dr. Drew. Start hammering out that Celebrity Rehab contract, Snooki’s PR people! Keep her relevant for a little longer.

That’s one of the things that get’s me about her. I don’t watch the show at all but I’ve seen clips of her bad mouthing people about “not being Italian” when she isn’t Italian. Also the tanning. Don’t get me wrong I know darker skinned people who get tans to hide blemishes and get an even skin tone. I’ve never done it purposely but I’ve gotten compliments after getting a natural tan while doing yard work. I think she does it because that’s what she thinks Italians in Jersey do. She does it because her other lighter friends do it not because she thinks it makes her skin look better.

I had never seen the show until I watched the first episode of season 2 yesterday and I am ashamed to admit that I enjoyed it…
Snooki is an oddly appealing little muppet and did make me laugh so I’m alright with her being famous.
She’s a character out of a movie come to life.

i was in SS when she was arrested….lets just say that the show might be dumb, but the public is even dumber. the people waiting outside the police station and swarming the shore house…ridiculous.

You know, I think she has a pretty face, she’s not an ugly girl and she’s not that fat…but being the height she is and she does have meat on her bones, it only makes her look heavier with the things she wears. She should wear some different clothes and stop the dark tans, and I think she’d look better. Too much eye make up as well. Her hair looks better without that big poof on the top. I’m that tiny too and I can’t just wear what tall girls wear, it won’t look right and I stay away from the skank clothes too,lol…and ya, too much alcohol is definitely bad for short people like us and if she’s in that sun and heat, it probably made it worse. However, I do agree with the arresting was dumb, she wasn’t driving a car and harming people (like Lohan). But this girl most likely needs rehab.

Agree 100 per cent with you Lucy2 hard to believe but there was a time in the 80s and early 90s when MTV actually mattered and then for reasons not quite known it went to hell. Thing is most young people don’t even watch it enough to generate ratings so I’m guessing Viacom must use it as a cash cow; it’s not on because of it’s music relevance; it has none. Someone help me on this.

I’d like to point out that Snooki was born in Chile and adopted by Italian Americans. Her skin is naturally dark. So for the people telling her to stop tanning… I don’t really think it’ll make that much of a difference.
Having said that, keep doing what you do best Snooki!

I think part of MTV’s finances also consists of the ridiculous movies they put out. That combined with the sheer number of times they air repeats of their “reality shows” seems to be pretty much what they do. MTV didn’t even air commercials when it first started, remember?
I can’t stand that the fresh, rebellious channel of my childhood/teen years has turned into something so unrecognisable to me! It’s awful now.

Oh dear. Didn’t she once say she was laying of the drinks to try and lose weight? Instead of 10 margaritas in one sitting she would have 2? 10??! Maybe she thought straight Patron would have less calories, but didn’t factor in the increased percentage of alcohol.
