I somehow missed this yesterday – Madonna’s 13 year old daughter Lourdes (Lola) stepped out in London yesterday wearing this outfit. Personally, before we even get into the pot thing, I just have to say that although I find her outfit very cute, I’m not sure black panty hose and booty shorts are appropriate for a 13-year-old. Yes, she’s wearing them with combat boots and a regular t-shirt, but still. When you see the pockets of your cutoffs peeking out of the bottom, that’s too short for 13 years old.
Anyway, Lola wore a little Rasta cuff with an image of a marijuana leaf. Here’s a close-up:
Too much? Especially for the daughter of the anti-drug Madonna? Madge is all about control and not showing weakness – drugs are definitely a weakness in Madge’s mind. But I could also see Madge being pro-pot in a general sense, and maybe encouraging her daughter to experiment with drugs, but only if it’s pot? Probably not though. Most likely, Lola doesn’t toke and she just picked out the cuff because, in her 13-year-old fashionista mind, “Rasta is ‘in’ this season.”

Not appropriate. Madge is clearly living vicariously through her daughter (note big honking crosses on necklace and tee-shirt) and promoting her own brand of cheezy fashion sense that went out of style in the eighties through Lourdes. I have a feeling this kid is going to be a total “mini-me” and have the same kind of arrogant, control-freak, exhibitionist streak as her mother. Unfortunately.
I don’t have any comments over the cuff, but, my goodness, that outfit is hideous. Or is it? Fashion today is just wacked out.

Doesn’t mean that much. Kids like to dye their hair, wear their own edgy style of clothes, something the older generation possibly would not approve of. It doesn’t mean she’s a smoker of the ganja. No need to blow this all out of proportion.
I wouldn’t let my 16 year old wear that cuff, but I probably would let her wear the outfit. A little short for a 13 year old, I think, but all in all it’s not like she’s hanging out all over. It’s cute.
I do hope Madge & Carlos have a large ivory tower for her b/c my god that girl is gorgeous.

You know Madonna is going to let her loose. I’ve never thought Madonna is as strict with her kids as the media reports. If she’s letting lola create a fashion line, I’m sure she lets her do other stuff, like smoking pot. I don’t see it as such a terrible thing, its her decision and there are tons of bodyguards around her.

I wore an outfit like that to my first concert at 13. That was over 15 years ago. Funny how style goes in circles. Anyhow, I think it’s just a cuff, no hidden meaning.
Hmmm its more a fashion thing than a supports it thing. I wear stuff just because its trendy or in season or different. Lola is going for the edgy thing and a Jamaica Mary Jane wrist band = edgy. Thats all Lola is doing. I seriously doubt Lola supports Mary Jane, I am sure she hasn’t tried since its rumored that Madonna is very strict about what her kids do.
All the kids wear short shorts including this one :D. Its normal now. Shorts that stop right above the knee are no longer cool. I like short shorts I really do. Its really cute with a long top. Even in plus sizes they are way above the knee now, alot more thigh going these days. I like how Lola has her shirt tucked in into the shorts and for a bit of edge holey panty hose and combat boots. I think its hawt.
She is beautiful, isn’t she? I don’t like the outfit, and cannot believe she is only 13. Not what I wore at 13. But whatever, she aint the only one.
Is 13 coming of age in Kabalah or something? It seems like Madge had a tight reign on Lola until 13 and then, BOOM! Launching a clothing line, blog, lots of make-up and pretty sexy clothing for someone just leaving 12 behind.
I admired M for keeping Lola’s eyebrows au naturale when she was just a kid and it seemed like she wanted to shelter and guard her girlhood. Guess that’s over.
She finally got her eyebrown done, good ! But i think she is wearring too much eye make up for her age and for just a run out during daytime

You can buy those cuffs in local convenience stores where I am from – I wouldn’t look too much into it.
Of course pot(in moderation) is also legal where I live, so maybe it is just me.
I can’t believe she is 13. She could easily pass for 18 or older in that picture. I taught 6th grade and occasionaly had 13 year olds in my class and none of them ever looked anything like this. I never had a celebrity child, of course. But- wow. She looks way mature for her age.

This is a dumb headline clearly she’s just wearing the bracelet band because she likes it and her outfit is fine she’ll be 14 in October remember she’s a teenager and teens where all kinds of crazy outfits as long as it’s age appropriate there’s nothing wrong with it I’ve seen much worse.

With her life experience so far, it’s not surprising that she looks older than her years. She hasn’t been sheltered in middle America, she’s been globetrotting her whole life. That adds sophistication, worldliness, a more grown up attitude/look, etc.
Yeah, I kind of miss prim and proper English Roses Madonna but we all knew it was contrived and fake. I wonder how much influence Jesus has on Lourdes because he looks like he probably smokes up a good bit and really what else does he have to do with is life? I’m not sure how closely Madonna adheres to the tenets of her religion regarding child rearing but it might be why Lourdes busted out into her own in her 13th year.

Man can you imagine getting to invade Madonna’s closet? I thought of that when I saw the beaded cross necklace on Lordes that looks like the necklaces Madonna wore in the 80’s. I could spend DAYS in that closet! Madonna doesn’t dress her, she dresses herself and has been doing that for a long time. Of course Madonna tries to moderate what she wears when she can, but the girl is a teenager. Toddlers and teens are quite trying.

My daughter is mistaken for lourdes all the time…since she was tiny. Now at 11 she taller than me 5’7 and still so like her it’s uncanny – I think its difficult for girls at that age anyway…and if you look older than your age even more so … my “baby lourdes” is also desperate to try out all the fash including the “short” shorts that upset her father…but lets allow them to be rebels…I know I thought i was the bizz in my pencil skirt / pedel pushers !

I would NOT allow my 13 yr old son to wear anything with a marijuana leaf. Im not anti- marijuana but 13 is to young to be doing or promoting it. Its also how public perceives a child and the parents of a child sporting a marijuana leaf – not good.

Fashion is all relative to influences, (i.e. her mom) as opposed to age these days. When I was thirteen I was wearing some zoo animal shirt and neon windbreakers shorts, scrunchie socks and tennis shoes lol. I don’t think i discovered fashion until the 80’s were well gone and i was in h.s. The whole pot thing *eye roll* like that’s the worst thing the spawn of an billinaire could be doing with her time. WHO CARES. It’s going to get legalized in California in November! I will never get why anyone would have a problem with it or with people using it.
