Last night, another screening for Love & Other Drugs was held, and both Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway were in attendance. Honestly, I thought these photos were from the big premiere, just because Jake’s in his standard suit, and Anne’s in white. At the premiere, though, nearly two weeks ago, Anne wore a cream Antonia Berardi, and it had weird fishtail-details on the hips that kind of ruined the whole thing. This time she wore Valentino! And even without the hip crap, I still don’t like it. I mean, is it was just a tiered column/shift dress, maybe it would be okay (although inappropriate for Anne’s curvier body type). But the big neck bow… here are some better pics of the bow:
I don’t know, it’s just not my style. I think it looks awkward on Anne too, and the whole effect is very “wedding cake”. I will say this, though – the face and the hair are gorgeous. I get the feeling Anne’s learning curve is still ongoing – she’s mastered red carpet hair and makeup, but she still struggles with the fashion part, and bless her heart, Rachel Zoe picks out some hideous crap for Anne. But considering Anne and Mr. Valentino are all over each other, he probably picked it out especially for her. Ugh. Here are more pics:

That’s about as close as one can get to a super-pale girl pulling off a white dress. That is, not very close at all. She’s beautiful, but the dress isn’t working. And Valentino! Why not red? She would look stunning in a lipstick red!

The dress is very mod but its over designed. I hate the layers and I hate the fringe. Her hair is lovely and she is just a lovely girl in general.
Man Jake looks soo freaking bewildered and sexy…I want that all over me. OMG he looks yummy no. Like I am in need of Jake in that suit and box of chocolate.

I have no idea why I’m saying this b’cuz I typically can’t stand bows and fluff – but this works so some reason and I’m loving it. Perhaps it’s the styling.

I think Anne looks lovely, as usual. She’s a beautiful girl and she wears clothes well. I love the dress and I LOVE those shoes. Great look.
I dont think you can find better shoes to go with that dress if you were hell bent on wearing it. I like!

I think she looks gorgeous. I also think the color highlights her creamy skin. However, the ACTUAL dress is gross. “Doily off of the back of Grandma’s couch” kind of gross.

Without those fluffy edges it would be a nice dress, but as it is, it’s a curtain.

Looks like it is from a 60s mod type movie. But she is far too pale to pull it off. I still love her.
This sort of dress is absolutely not my style or taste, though I do think Anne looks OK … but perhaps she’s a little too pale to wear such blanket white all over? Then again, her hair, eyes and eyebrows do make a nice startling contrast. I’ll sit on the fence on this one!
It’s a really pretty deco-era dress that works but at the same time makes her look short. Not many would be able to pull off that look but she does sell it.

Love the dress…would be SO much better without the stupid bow though. Very reminiscent of the 60s shift dress. But then again, Anne can pull anything off; she’s breathtaking!
Is she wearing a tether on each ankle, or are those just really, really ugly shoes? If she took that top sheer layer and ridiculous bow off of the dress, it might have a chance. She frequently picks things that look awful on her. Does she employ a blind stylist or something?

I love the dress but don’t think Anne (who is very beautiful) has the right body type for it. Only a petite, gamine woman like Vanessa Paradis could pull it off.
Maybe I am just feeling a bit meanish today, but in all these photos, I just want to do something to make her cry. She looks so flaky.
Her hair is pretty; first thing I noticed.
Her feet don’t look any worse than anyone else who tries to walk in chopines.
It’s a beautiful ensemble, I love the styling.

can’t explain why, but I just hate her. She annoys the crap out of me for some reason. My fiance doesn’t understand why women find her attractive – he says she is the type of girl that other women find attractive but men think is plain.
The dress is not right for her, but on what planet are we calling her a “curvy” body type? I think HW has warped our minds if we think of that as curvy.
