Madonna records video with Britney Spears, invites her to guest on tour

Madonna is set to play 10 European dates starting in August on her “Sticky and Sweet” tour, which will last just under a month. She knows that in order to remain relevant she’s got to pull out all the stops, which may include bringing in a younger tabloid target in a blatant attempt to get press. For her last tour Madonna rehashed some of her tired old blasphemy, and that worked slightly, but this time she’s ready to really get people talking.

The Sun reports that Madonna will record a video with Britney tomorrow that will be shown as a background during her upcoming show. Madonna has also reportedly asked Britney to join her as a walk-on guest on the tour. There’s some analysis that this will help Britney’s stagnant career, but unless she can pull it together in less than a month that’s doubtful.

MADONNA has asked troubled BRITNEY SPEARS to join her on tour — and pals hope she will give guidance to the young star.

The Queen Of Pop, 49, is set to record a video with Britney, 26, in New York tomorrow.

The footage will be broadcast on huge screens as part of Madge’s Sticky and Sweet tour, which kicks off on August 23.

Madonna has also invited Britney to appear in person on some of the world tour dates.

A source close to Britney revealed: “They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show.

“And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too.

“There’s no doubt that her [sic] and Britney together will spell fireworks again.

[From The Sun]

This is all about Madonna, and no matter how Britney performs she’ll bring attention to Madge and her show. This woman likes to rub her crotch all over the Catholic church and staged a mock crucifixion while wearing a crown of thorns for her last tour. She even invited the pope to come see it. Madonna doesn’t give a shit if Britney is mentally or physically prepared to go on stage with her. She’d prop her up on a platform and wheel her around if she could get away with it. Madonna puts on an amazing show, there’s no doubt about that, but she also does whatever she has to do to stay famous, and it sure has worked for her so far.

Madonna and Britney are shown in the inset in Britney’s “Me Against The Music” video in 2003. The header is undated but is probably from around that same time. (Who wants to see that photo of them kissing at the VMAs again?) Here are Madonna and Guy going to - you guessed it, Kabbalah, yesterday. Madonna supposedly got caught in the rain, but she’s looked like a wet rat in quite a few candids recently. She is shown leaving in the one where her hair is all fluffy.

  1. I see that Madonna is trying to be captain save a hoe…..LOL :P :D

  2. I’m going to pretend she’s doing it for altruistic reasons. Madonna has to do NOTHING to stay relevant.

  3. It may help Britany to ease into performing again, in a live concert walk on. Depends on her state of mind.

  4. Aren’t there any real artists that Madonna could use her fame to advance? Rather than some person who lipsyncs every song and is more famous for being a wreck than anything else?

  5. There’s a song on M’s last album (I think) where she says: “I did it, just about everything, to see my name in lights” and she’s doing just that again. I’m not surprised. I wonder if Jamie Spears will let Britney go? Probably, or…? I don’t think it’s such a bad idea, if Britney is up to the challenge. And it doesn’t even matter if she’s doing it selfishly or not. I’m just starting to find Madonna’s perform-with-twenty-somethings shtick pathetic. And her music has sucked since her “Ray of Light” album.

  6. Ugh once again Madonna is beyond selfish. Honestly, Timbaland offered to help her. THAT is relevant (even if you don’t like it)…. Madonna? The ONLY reason her song did well was… Timbaland and Timberlake. She needs a hook. She needs something to say LOOK AT ME. I really wish everyone would STOP looking at her. She has been in the spotlight too long and unlike Tina Turner, she has NO class. She is a pig.

  7. Madonna hasn’t been relevant in years. I think Spears’ father is pimping her out, trying to get her career on track when I think her career is over. I think he’s doing what he thinks is best but she would be better off out of the spot light. And Madonna will take advantage, under the guise that she’s helping.

Madonna’s lingerie shorts in every d@&% colour are starting to annoy me.

  8. so this is what desperation and utter pathetic-ness smells like. why are u forcing us to take a whiff? Madonna, stick a fork in your rubbered buttocks . . . you’re *done.*

  9. I don’t think M is doing herself any favors by bringing in an obviously troubled trainwreck like Brit into the mix. She’s too huge of a star to let some knuckle dragging, cousin loving, spam sucking trailer trash like Brit bring her down… Let Britney fall off the face of the earth like she needs to do. She obviously can’t handle being in the lime light.

    Persistent Cat:

Wow, people here really hate Madonna. Stop chastising her for trying to put on a show, it’s what she fucking does and she does it better than most. I’m not a big fan of her music but my God, get off her back. She’s an entertainer.

    Big. Publicity. Stunt.

  13. I can think of nothing I would like less than to see Madonna and Britney in concert together. Add Ashley Simpson and you have the trifecta of lip sync queens.

  14. Unless you’ve seen Madge in concert (as I have, twice) you have no room to talk about her shows. She’s kickass and gives her all. Seen in context, the “crucifixion” number was perfectly executed.

Madonna’s trying to help Britney out. If anyone can help Brit get her confidence back, it’s Madge. Britney’s come a long way and I think we need to stop kicking her around when she obviously has a mental disorder. It’s hell if you have to live with it.

Oh ya, the ‘healthy’ atmosphere around Madonna is just the thing she needs. I imagine there is a wee bit of pressure on a person when in front of thousands of fans. That’s what Britney needs right now, yup.

  19. Enn… I would not pay to see her show and I feel fully qualified to still speak on it having seen over 500 shows in my lifetime. I have seen bootlegs of her shows. Its a show. She isn’t entertaining to me. She is annoying and scuzzy. I would not provide her with any further income. If you like her…fabulous…but I still think she is a publicity whore trying desperately to reach an audience that is over her.
