Here are new photos of Angelina Jolie in Paris, going into what is probably the first day of her junket for The Tourist. She appears to be wearing a rather beautiful grey coat over a pencil-skirt-and-sweater or a fitted dress. This is actually the best dressed Angelina has been in a while – she’s usually okay when she’s doing business-casual, as opposed to her grandma styles in formalwear or eveningwear.
Speaking of businesswear – I am perhaps the only person who was really pissed off about Jennifer Garner’s recent under-dressed appearance before Congress – the photos we had of her made it appear like she had wandered in to testify in a tank top, with very little makeup or styling (I later found out the tank top was a loose, shapeless shift-dress). I don’t begrudge Garner or anyone else their lack of styling in random candid shots, but I’m a big believer in dressing for the occasion, and always being situation-appropriate. When you testify before Congress, or when you appear in court, you should be wearing some kind of suit or professional attire – no jeans, no uncovered arms, no half-assed ponytails. While I have no love for Angelina’s style in general, I have to give the bitch credit – she always looks occasion-appropriate. Plus… you know, the coat porn. The bitch has great coats.

I am not a huge coat person. I live in a city where it gets cold and snows and I have never given damn for having a fashionable coat. I just need to be warm. I hate coats, I always look forward to the summer where I can be practically naked.
damn I feel so unobservant — the only thing I saw was her coat & her ponytail — had to go back & look for the earrings, sunglasses & her walk that looks like she’s about to fall — ha ha
Did someone photoshop her legs? There are no calves, nothing just skin wrapped around bones. If this photo isn’t shopped she needs to get her arse to a gym or hire a trainer, eat some damn protein, drink some protein shakes or some shite…
You can’t go wrong in a cashmere coat and cashmere sweater dress. Totally professional and easy to wear. Angelina always looks great, in my opinion, whether it’s day or evening wear. Everybody has different tastes in how they dress and everybody should dress to suit themselves, not anyone else. However, it is always a good thing to dress well, in good clothes that fit.
Having said that, Jennifer Garner is hopeless when it comes to dressing herself. She has no idea how to present herself to the public. When she is with the children she wears only shapeless jeans and ugly sweaters/blouses so I wasn’t at all surprised when she showed up in front of Congress dressed as if she were on her way to her job as a housemaid. She only looks half-way decent on the red carpet and that’s because her stylist probably dresses her.
I think her legs are gorgeous. Only looking at the lower half as if she’s sickly is silly. I’ve seen pics of her at the Kung Fu Panda premier in a short black dress and OMG was she rockin. These longer skirts don’t do her any justice but Brad gets to see the whole package and he looks very happy. Love the coat also.

Her hair is not scraggly. It is normal, long hair. She doesn’t add extensions or anything, so compared to JLo or a Kartrashian, her hair appears to be thinner/flatter.

I live in Seattle. Outerwear (warm, water resistant, preferably attractive) is essential! Shoes, too, because half the year that’s all the rest of the world sees! Anyway, I had a frugal friend (with a frugal husband) who had ONE coat-I was all over her, so she ended up buying a pretty slick “Seattle Suede” number from Eddie Bauer. She was so pleased with her “bold” move!
Love Angie’s coats, even the puffy black one. And yes, she does have the professional look down. I’ve always appreciated her appropriate attire (which says “take me seriously”) at the UN and at international conferences.
If she can keep this all nailed down, she is one strong woman (stamina-wise, too-I would have crumped with her schedule in my mid-30’s).

@Hollowdoll: What’s wrong with calf muscles? I’m not trying to start a fight, I’ve just curious. I can see being grossed out by overly-muscled calves, like in the case of those creepy female body builders, but I’ve never heard of someone being repulsed by moderately toned calves. I, for one, would love to have a pair of my own!

I am so confused about those pics. JustJared usually has every single one. When I visited his site yesterday, he only had the Angie and Shi pic. Meanwhile CB had them all. JJ usually has practically every picture, he may have added them IDK. I don’t know why some sites had them all and some had just the ones of Angie and Shi.
I love her outfit.. appropriate and stylish, but simple. She dresses comfortable but still looks chic. She is naturally skinny and has been working really hard on directing, being a mom and now she has to promote this movie.. she is probably not eating like she should, but I think she is in a good place right now. Salt did not do well in the US that is why some people are saying it bombed. It took 110 million to make and made 117 million.
Well, I don’t think it’s Jolie’s job to do the movie budgets, so I don’t understand why people keep bringing that up? It’s the studios job to do the budget. Jolie’s job is to act and promote. And she did well, because she got good reviews for her acting, and the movie made 100 million, which is usually a big success. It means that a lot of people still like her in action films. I doubt they went to the theatres thinking, “we have to help Jolie out, because this movie’s budget is so large!” I don’t know of too many woman who can get a movie past 100 million in the US all alone (Sandra Bullock and a few others is about it). Jolie didn’t have any help either. There was no big male co-star to draw in audiences, the film wasn’t based on a successful book, or video game, etc. But I’m sure the people who pick on her will find some reasoning to show that the movie is a complete bomb. I think it has more to do with their biases than with reality. Movie looks like a big hit to me.
@tp: Salt made $294 million worldwide. Angie is an enormous star overseas.
@Lauren: A movie isn’t profitable until it makes double its production costs, because the studio has to split half the box office with the theater owners. But since Salt cost $110 million to make and has earned close to three times that, it was definitely profitable for the studio.
Some trolls are going to say it “bombed” because it “only” made $118 million in the US, but money’s money, no matter where it comes from. The studios know the overseas market is where the money is.

Is there someone who can tell me if those celebrities (and their children) are some sort of robots? I mean, how is it possible to walk wearing shoes like those without breaking the ankles? Or to wear just a coat like that when it’s freezing… I would probably fall dead in less than 5 minutes.
I like the coat, and in general I like what she wears in these occasions (what occasions?), but it’s boring. I still miss the old cute Angelina who simple wore jeans and a leather jacket.
