Earlier this week, we told you the whole sordid story about Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood’s drunken tryst with a 19 year old cocktail waitress. The 61-year-old ditched his wife of 23 years to party with the teen instead of entering rehab for his two-vodka-bottle-a-day drinking habit. Now, after much urging from family and friends, the rocker has agreed to enter rehab and seek treatment.
Ronnie Wood entered a rehabilitation facility Wednesday for help with alcoholism, said a spokeswoman for the Rolling Stones guitarist.
“Following Ronnie’s continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab,” the spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity as required by her agency. “His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery.”
Wood, 61, has fought a long battle with alcoholism during his rock ‘n’ roll career, which started in the 1960s when he played with the band The Faces.
His spokeswoman didn’t release any details about the treatment he will receive or the clinic that he entered.
The craggy guitarist had seemed to be in good health in recent years. He has developed a strong second career as an artist, selling his paintings at some of London’s respected art galleries.
But he has been the focus of feverish recent newspaper reports about his resuming drinking.
No word on whether or not Wood ended his relationship with his young enabler, 19-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova, whom he met in a bar in Ireland. But something tells me that if he’s cleaning himself up, the party must be over. At least he’ll be sober when he appears in divorce court.

This guy is in rough shape. Hope he gets his butt back on track.
-
Yikes! I’m glad hes getting the help he needs.
random aside: How do these old dudes still party so hard? I’m 26 & I’d cry if I tried to party the way I did when I was 18!

Years of practice, Bodhi. Him and Keith Richards, kings of debauchery.
-
Yeah, I figured. Keith has pickled himself pretty well with all that booze.
-
I agree with you Bodhi. I’m 43. When I was 23 I looked forward to weekends so I could go to the clubs downtown and party til dawn.
Now I look forward to weekends because that means I’ll have time to take naps.

For God’s sakes divorce his sorry ass Jo. Take the money and run run run. You deserve to spend the rest of your life peacefully in a healthy relationship after 30 years of groupie and alcoholic hell with that loser. You are sure to find a kind man who loves YOU (and not drugs/booze).

He has a problem with alcohol!? Gee…you couldn’t tell it by looking at him…..
-
does Keith still go to Switzerland and have his blood changed every year? These men look v v rough.
I hope for his family and, of course, himself he is able to gain control of his addiction

He has a disease, he needs to get help, running out of time
The “elite core” connected to him better step up or he will be alone in a box-
he needs to go on a “dry”, creative artistical productive linear v. non linear binge
take the layers off, strip down, abandon the draining human contact, address his pain through the vehicle of art.
stay with the family and don’t go too far off the LIBERAL map so u can not come back and play with keith!
Univeral is here!

Good for him. Must have been Rod’s call that did it. Jo might just forgive you. Again.
