  1. Yeah, she could have ended up in jail with him if she didn’t do what the feds wanted. Besides, I’m sure his & her relationship wasn’t any more serious than most other celeb relationships.

    Some relationships aren’t worth ruining your life for. Some are though, like parisite and benji(or whichever one she’s dating). THAT’S a match made in heaven! :lol:

  2. I’m with you on the loyalty thing. Loyalty holds no ties beyond the reach of the law, unless of course you knew when you got together that he or she was a conman, I think she is fine with helping the law. Certainly anyone who was conned by him would think so.

  3. One story I read mentioned that the items seized could have been appointment diaries. So… I don’t know that it makes a difference, but I suppose its worth a thought.

    Either way.. I don’t really like Anne, but I’m glad she got away from such a sleeze. I do, however, wonder what her folks thought about him…

    @Bodhi:I think it makes a difference if they were appointment diaries. If they were personal diaries, it seems more ominous for Anne herself, don’t you think?

    And one does have a constitutional right to privacy (at least we did until 9/11/01) - but you gotta wonder why she left them at his place??

  9. Hey, if you’re so smart there smart person, why don’t you show me the passage in the Constitution that directly mentions the word ‘privacy’.

    You are protected from unlawful search and seizure, nothing more. If they went through the proper procedure to get a warrant, then they can have just about anything they want - including your hard drive (which I am sorry to say, will take about 5 minutes to decrypt there buddy.) The term ‘right to privacy’ didn’t even exist in legal circles until around the time it was used to justify Roe V. Wade.

    And believe it or not, they could do that WAY before September 11th - but lets keep pretending that the government wasn’t already this powerful before that and just keep blaming Bush.

  12. i wanna see a movie with annie slinking around in a trenchcoat, getting evidence against her slimeball boyfriend once she realized he’d scammed money from elderly widows and orphan children, then how she lured him back to the states so justice could be served. the end of the movie would have to have a killer line where she looks him in the eye and sums up all her anger at his having lied to her, and used her and her connections, to steal from people, and her joy at having helped nail him. then she could sashay out of the courtroom with the handsome fbi agent who put the sleaze away. :D

    (More General Protection for Privacy)
    The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

    Essentially, just because the protection of privacy in specific circumstances is not enumerated in the Constitution (because there potentially are too many to be listed) does not render them immune to such protection.

    If you disagree, then I’ll be down to your house directly to confiscate whatever paperwork catches my eye. And no- you can’t stop me from doing so, you have no rights of any kind in the matter.
