It must be really frustrating to star in a movie that’s universally raved about, and then not get any other offers aside from a couple of Lifetime movies. That’s the only explanation I can come up with for Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky’s unmitigated rage. Nikki and her father Carl were involved in some kind of serious physical altercation yesterday at the airport in Turks and Caicos. The two took on former America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden and her mother Elain – who was so seriously injured that she had to be airlifted to a Florida hospital!
“They were involved in an altercation at the airport in the departure lounge,” Sgt. Chase of the Turks and Caicos Islands Police Department tells E! News, adding that the fight was over some saved seats.
Blonsky’s rep declined to comment. The 19-year-old Hairspray star was charged with assault and actual bodily harm as well as common assault; her father, Carl, was rung up on a count of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Bianca Golden was also charged with actual bodily harm and assault. Golden’s mother, Elain, was hurt so badly she had to be airlifted to a hospital in Florida, according to Sgt. Chase.
Nikki Blonsky appeared in court this morning sporting a neck brace–”she received some kind of injury,” said Chase; a judge allowed her to be released on $6,000 cash bail and ordered to return to court on Dec. 1. Her father is being held until Aug. 8. Golden was also freed on bail. According to Chase, Golden and Nikki Blonsky’s charges carry a maximum penalty of two years, while Carl Blonsky could face up to five years in prison.

Holy cow. This whole thing just reeks of Tracy Turnblad fighting for justice. Except I think Blonsky forgot Tracy’s message of not beating the crap out of people. Who knew the pint-sized girl packed such rage? I know traveling and airports can piss people off and make otherwise rational people do very irrational things… but this is pretty damn extreme. It resulted in airlifting someone off the island. And neck braces. And lots of criminal charges. I’m really anxious to hear a more gossipy account of what went on.

It’s sad that something so trivial could result in someone going to the hospital with head injuries. Shame on both of them.
I shamefully admit I watched Bianca’s ANTM cycle. She’s a piece of work. She was constantly harassing and insulting one woman with Aspberger’s Syndrome, Heather.
That being said I do hate when people “save seats” and take over a whole section. So 5th grade.

I don’t think that the fact the woman was airlifted to an American hospital speaks to the extent of the injuries. Many American travelers buy insurance for this service because, lets face it, who wants to be stuck in a foreign hospital where you really don’t know anything about the health care quality, cleanliness, or government regulations of the place.

According to tmz, bianca’s mom is in the icu with “serious head trauma.” Frankly, if someone beat up my mom, they would be dead. I don’t care who started it but I personally think Nikki and her family started it and continued with it. I mean, her father is still in jail! If he didn’t have A VERY ACTIVE role in the confrontation, then he wouldn’t still be in jail! He beat up a woman. He could have just shoved her and called security but he did a major beat down. LOL! I think both of them are trash. I just really don’t like Nikki. There is something about her like when she is in interviews that doesn’t click with me. And as for Bianca, I really did not like her in ANTM, she was arrogant and rude.

Ms Blonsky hasn’t had another offer since Hairspray because as far as Holywood is concerned she isn’t fat, she’s beyond hope, redemption and she isn’t even human and all because of her size. Remember we’re dealing with a milieu that thinks size 12 is fat. That would be very frustrating.
Can you imagine getting in a brawl over seats in an airport lounge? Who does that? I don’t watch ANTM so I don’t know the second girl at all but I hope her Mum is going to be ok…how really awful and what a way to behave! Completely nuts…

Regardless of how Bianca behaved on ANTM, the injuries inflicted on her mom, by a so-called man, are unacceptable. I hope he remains behind bars long enough to become Bubba’s lil playmate.
