  3. Since when does being a Christian make you automatically against gay marriage? As a Christian, I find that horrendously offensive. Granted, I do not go to church or affiliate myself with a particular denomination of Christianity, but I did go to a Christian college and my core beliefs are based in that theology.

    Wow! I am getting long winded, there, aren’t I?

    Anyway, people do not choose to be gay. That is the way they are born. You can’t control being gay, any more than you can choose your eye color. It’s just something you are born with. I just do not believe that God would put people on earth and then decide it is a sin for them to follow the natural human instinct to seek out a loving relationship.

    So, any gay people reading this-please know that loser Lohan speaks only for himself, not for all of Christianity.

    And I also agree with Kaiser about the dry drunk thing. I can’t wait until Lindsay’s career is officially over so that we don’t have to see her despicable family again.

  6. Thing is, I think when you take away all the drama surrounding her, LiLo actually is a good actress. I don’t quite know why, but I am rooting for her to overcome her demons and show us what she really can do on the big screen. Maybe in a few years, when she has matured more. I just think she has a lot of potential.

  7. Nothing worse than successful dieters, reformed drunks, and smoking quitters. There seems to be a certain amount of sanctimoniosity (is that a word? if not, I just invented it) that comes with it. Not aiming my gun at anyone here, I’m guilty myself. Lose 10 lb., then sneer at anyone pudgy while thinking “if I can do it, SHE should be able to.”

    Sad that he feels he’s too righteous to support his daughter in whatever decision she makes about her lifestyle, though.

    I really don’t care what he thinks about his daughter’s maybe-relationship & I bet Lindsey doesn’t either. All things considered I think these are some pretty tame quotes from him. He could have gone all out & blasted them

    You got that right! I quit smoking back in November and have had to make a conscious effort to keep my mouth shut when I see someone light up. It really is not easy to contain myself, but I have to remember that until I made up my mind to quit, NO ONE could talk me out of smoking. I would just roll my eyes at them and continue lighting up! :wink:

    However, I did nag both my parents into quitting, both after 50+ years of smoking. So, nagging does have some merit…!

  13. Lauri, Kaiser and Rougelatete love your posts. Lauri you are so right, wth does being Christian have anything to do with automatically being against gay marriage. If he is so Christian does he know how God dislikes divorce so much, does he know how much God dislikes drug and alcohol abuse. I guess Lyndsey can’t discuss his divorce with him because of her Christian beliefs… give me a break, what a fn joke of a father and human being he is..

    Since you asked, and not because I support anything the Bible has to say-

    Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

    Leviticus 18:29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

    In Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

  19. I agree that saying “I’m a Christian” does not automatically mean that EVERY Christian feels the same.
    I am a Catholic (a practicing Catholic), and, frankly, I have no prejudice at all against gay relationships or gay marriage.
    I respect that the Catholic Church does not feel the same way, but remind myself (and others), that the Church preaches that everyone must follow their own conscience.
    In my opinion, Mr. Lohan would be a much better Christian if he were examining his own heart and conscience and trying to be a better person (and father!), rather than making public judgments against his daughter.

If you do, that is a no no… do you have sex outside of marriage or when you are on your cycle?? THAT IS A SIN !!! It is a book that was written thousands of years ago..   22. I agree with CZARINA being a Catholic myself. Two of my best friends are Gay, and even though the church does not support this, I make up my own mind with my own heart.I do respect the churchs opinion but I follow my christian conscience and I dearly love these friends. What else does Michael Lohan do with his time besides spout off? I never hear of him doing anything. I do hope if Lindsay decides to go through with her wedding, that she DOES not ask EITHER parent to walk her down the aisle. They have not contributed anything to her welfare but heartache and spending her money and using her for their own gain and fame and fortune. No wonder the poor thing is messed up and confused.

    if by chance there really is a wedding in the future and he decides not to attend his own daughters ceremony i think that says more about his morals than his “christian faith” against gay marriage

    I dont have kids but i do have a baby brother and sister i helped raise, i dont give a damn if they were marrying satan himself nothing in this world would prevent me from being there for either one of them

  24. It’s not Christian like to agree with gay’s and their lifestyles. I as a Christian absolutely dont support gay marriages but i definitely dont discriminate bein that my closet family member is a lesbian. It’s wrong for any Christian to support gays I dont care what anyone says you are not born that way its a spirit. God didn’t create men to like men and the same for women. Also marriage is a union between a man and a woman.

    1) The Bible was written by men, and not penned by God Himself.
    2) The Bible was written how long ago? Im Wiccan, but I was raised Roman Catholic, and I was pretty sure even back then, God gave himself a little wiggle room to adapt as time changes.
    3) The Bible also clearly states, THOU SHALT NOT JUDGE. So altho we are granted free will to have our opinions, God clearly states HE will judge and it is not up to us. So while you (meaning you in general) may not support gay rights, to actually condemn a gay relationship is committing a sin in and of itself.

    Its a shame how downhill this girl has gone, and Im not referring to being gay. I used to think she was very talented and very pretty. She didn’t just suddenly go gay tho. Either 1) she’s been hiding it very well, or 2) she simply ran out of men in Hollywood to screw and got bored!

    Just above me Jojo states “you are not born gay.” Well Jojo, did you sit down one day and contemplate and make a conscious decision you’re going to be straight? If you HAD to think about it, you have bisexual tendencies. If you “just are,” then you were born straight. Just as they are born gay.

    They are also finding physical differences in the brain. straight women/homosexual men have a larger right side of the brain, as compared to homosexual women/straight men, who’s 2 sides of the brain are equal. And as I understand, when the study was done, it was 100% consistant. I may have who had the larger brain mixed up, so don’t totally quote me on that, but ya’ll get the gist.

  27. jb and jojo; While I certainly respect your opinion, what I disagree with is using the term “Christian” as a blanket term that is supposed to mean the exact same thing to everyone.
    There are many different types of Christianity. Catholics, Protestants, Methodists, Anglicans, Unitarians, to name just a few.
    To suggest that everyone from every church should or does have the same opinions is silly.
    It’s like saying “Americans all believe…” what? What political topic does EVERY American agree on?
    To me, the foundations of Christianity are love and respect for other people.
    (By the way, to those who are carelessly putting down the Bible, please remember that this is a special an important book for some of us. I doubt anyone here would do the same regarding the Koran or another religion’s important books. While I understand that some people misuse the Bible to judge and hurt others, that does not negate the value of it–people do the same to the Constitution!)

  29. Thank you Lauri for those kind words. As a lesbian myself, and I remember facing very hard choices when I came out. I am now 34 and I have been out since I was 21. I lost the “love” of several family members including my dad, but I finally faced the fact that I was born this way, and like my mother says, God created me in his image, and he loves me the same as everyone else. I also have an almost 16 year old daughter who doesn’t even remember a time when I was “straight” and she is well rounded, kind and accepting of everyone and passes no judgement. Why can’t everyone be like her?

    I was responding to the fact that the person didn’t bother to RTFA before mouthing off- kinda like what you just did. I had stated quite openly that I didn’t support what the Bible had to say on the topic of gays and gay marriage, however here are some verses that would lead one to the conclusion that Christians do not or should not support Gay marriage.
