People have been wondering when/if Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo would get engaged. The pair seem to have had a rocky relationship, though Romo’s been fairly quiet about it. By most accounts he dumped her right before little sister Ashlee got married – but somehow she (or her dad) talked him into coming back. I assumed it was a temporary reconciliation, meant to make Jessica look a little less uncomfortable than she would if she showed up to her younger sister’s wedding stag. But the pair have been back together for several months now, and the Chicago Sun-Times’ Bill Zwecker is reporting that they’re likely getting engaged soon.
I’m all about romance today — at least for starters: One of my best Dallas snoops just happened to be in the original Neiman Marcus in Big D, shortly after Jessica Simpson and main man and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo were in the store checking out big sparklers — the kind women wear on their left-hand ring finger.
I’m hearing the couple are talking about a winter wedding. Dallas fans can relax. The happy twosome are said to be planning to tie the knot well after the end of the NFL season, including the Super Bowl — should the Cowboys make it to the big game in Tampa, Fla.

I’m not sure how I feel about the idea of these two getting married. Though they rarely ask for my opinion or my advice, which I find sorta rude. Jessica has always seemed super into the relationship – but then again, she seems that way about every guy she dates. Something about Romo has always seemed less into it. Maybe it’s all the reports that he can’t deal with the overbearing Simpson family. And who could blame him – would you really want Joe Simpson in the cabana next door on your Mexican vacation? Though Tony doesn’t say a lot about the relationship, his friends sure do, and no one seems to be wild about the two of them together.
While he’s dated other famous women (Carrie Underwood), he doesn’t seem like a fame chaser. I’d think if he’s been with Jessica this long, he must have some real feelings for her, and that ring really may end up on her finger.

I can imagine that with the amount of shit he’s gotten from fans about her, that he keeps well away from saying much about her in public – or they’ll just start focussing on her again.
Finally getting engaged?? They haven’t been together that long! Less then a year, I believe. It’s a bit to soon to be saying that!
I think they’ve been together for more than a year, not counting the one semi-break-up.
But good for Jess! She’s not my favorite, but I think she and Tony probably make each other very happy.

@Hollz – I think the “finally” is because it’s seemed like a lot longer, hasn’t it? Jessica’s been talking about how Tony’s her “soulmate” and “future husband” for a while now. 🙄

I hope Joe planted this story to try to spark interest in her “number one debut” country album which has had dismal sales. It took three weeks for it to sell only 100,000 copies. Her last failure pop album sold that many its first week.

Eh…if they get married, I don’t care. Don’t mind her either way but I do find her annoying. My biggest concern will be her (potentially) distracting Tony from his job – football. She’s so very needy, that once she has her claws hooked into him semi permanently, her demanding neediness may show up again. Since the Cowboys are my hubby’s favorite team — if they lose… he’s a bear 😉 can’t have THAT! 🙂

I figured that Jessica would plant something like this around the time Ashlee is ready to give birth to try to overshadow her. I imagine seeing her getting those magazine covers and being out of headlines a few weeks made her jealous. I almost think that whople break-up in May may have been staged by her to overshadow Ashlee’s wedding.
