Considering that we’ve already covered Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe this morning, it makes sense to add Abbie Cornish in the mix. GQ sent us this lovely photo of Abbie – she did a shoot with the magazine to promote her roles in Limitless and Sucker Punch. Unfortunately, Abbie is just saying some junk about being a vegetarian and shooting some guns – kind of boring. I want to know what she thinks about this Ryan/baby-daddy-drama situation. Ryan allegedly (or not so) screwed around on Abbie too, and that’s why they split up last February. You know she’s got some dirt.
Abbie Cornish didn’t have to do time in the art house to build a Hollywood career. Just look at her. Girls who have got that don’t need to play knocked-up smack addicts (Candy) or button down for tricky little period pieces (Bright Star). So let us celebrate the fact that she has (finally) put away serious things and decided to go a little Hollywood, playing the role of unjustly institutionalized, definitely very dangerous Sweet Pea in Sucker Punch. Nerd-core director Zack Snyder’s latest tells the trippy tale of five tough-as-nails chicks busting out of a psych ward—and forced the 28-year-old Australian actress to hit the armory for the first time in her life.
“I’m a vegetarian—I’m not the type to want to go shoot a gun,” says Cornish. “Then I actually got to the range and totally fell in love with an M4. It was kind of amazing.” Somewhere in heaven, Charlton Heston nods sagely.

As I said, meh. I think one of my biggest problems with Abbie is that she doesn’t really have a distinctive “look”. Whenever I see photos of her, I’m always like, “Charlize!! No, not Charlize. Maria Bello? Kate Bosworth? Who is that?” I suppose it helps Abbie as an actress to not have one distinctive look, but you never mistake Cate Blanchett for anyone else, now do you?

Everytime I hear her name, I search my mind for an idea of what she looks like and come up blank. She’s no Reese.
I agree that Abbie does not have a distinctive look but she is an AMAZING actress. I wonder why she doesn’t get more parts.
That’s true, she does have a Charlize/Maria Bello look. I had no idea this was her….maybe she should keep her hair darker to stand out more.
@ sassenach I don’t think anyone can stand the leftover scent of Douchetastic Ryan on her. It’ll wear off. Sooner or later. LOL
Even for not having a certain ‘look’ I think she is very pretty and appealing.
She looks amazing! She is so pretty and the darker hair really suits her and shows off her features. To me she looks a little like Drew Barrymore in this shot. She’s not yet instantly recognizable, but as an actress it might be helpful to her career to be able to morph into different characters.
I have only seen her in “Candy” and thought she was very beautiful, I think she should go back to that look. Agree about the Charlize-resemblance.
She’s pinching Keira Knightly’s vibe. Get your own thing, Abbie. I think she shot herself in the foot getting mixed-up with Ryan’s junk. She’ll forever be known as his something-something unless something miraculous happens.

She was quite good in “Bright Star.” However, “Sucker Punch” looks like all kinds of exploitive tacky.
I can’t think of her in any other way than the thing which helped break up Witherspoon’s marriage. Seeing her and Phillipe’s faces…all smug and stupid…post divorce made her absolutely intolerable to me. Can’t rent anything with her in it.
She looks a bit like Justin Bieber in that photo.
I tend to like her. I’m a Reese fan, so it did temporarily put me off her, but I think Ryan is a douche and probably lied to and misled her as well.
So she is fairly private, is that a bad thing?! Preferable to some of the stars flashing their crotches and coming out with crap. She is a pretty girl and a good actress.
All I can think when I hear her name is, damn, that girl got to KISS CLIVE OWEN. (In the Elizabeth movie.) And the worst part? She got paid to do it. Le sigh.
