Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy cravings: Hot Pockets, pizza and ice cream

You wouldn’t know it by looking at her svelte post-baby figure now, but sources say that while Angelina Jolie was pregnant with twins Vivienne and Knox, she had some high-calorie cravings- and gave into them often. But when her junk food eating habits started rubbing off on the whole family, including partner Brad Pitt, the actress decided to clean up her diet.

After giving birth to twins, Angelina Jolie had a difficult time putting the breaks on the high-calorie pizzas, Hot Pockets, french fries and ice cream she consumed during her pregnancy, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

Her snacking got so bad that a source close to Jolie’s French Ob-Gyn, Michel Sussman, tells Us that he instructed her to eat more nutritiously. (She said junk food is “their family’s weakness” and even joked about Brad Pitt having a pregnant belly, says the source.)

[From Us Weekly]

The article suggests that Jolie didn’t drop the weight through exercise, but instead through a very strict diet that included special foods being shipped to the family while they stayed in Berlin. Hopefully, she doesn’t go overboard and revert back to her scary-skinny physique she had before the pregnancy. I think her new curves look fantastic.

I know how hard it is to resist those pregnancy cravings. I’m 5-1/2 months along right now, and last night I would have killed for some lime sherbet. The cravings get so intense, you get fixated on them to the point of distraction. Sometimes it’s better for everyone if you just give in to them – but in moderation, of course.

I can relate to the cravings, I would have run over a nun hitchhiking on crutches with a gas can for watermelon with my first son.
Agree MSat, she looks better with the post pregnancy weight.

she looks AMAZING with those few extra pounds, seriously! she really was scary skinny before i remembered looking at pictures of her and not finding her attractive at all, and now when i look at the pictures above i can see why people consider her to be the most beautiful or sexy woman alive. she really looks fantastic.

not to take anything away from her, but i wonder if she’s had some sort of work done, she looks VERY refreshed for someone who just had babies. it took me until my kid was almost a year old to look like myself again in the face, i just constantly looked exhausted.

I ate the most disgusting things when preggers. Stuff similar to hot pockets, like anything in the frozen food snack section. Processed bad things. Things I would never even look at before. Ha. I ate organic until @ 6 months then went off the rails. My OBGYN reigned me in too but nicely.

MSAT you’re pregnant? AWWW! Congratulations! So wonderful. Not sure if it’s your first. ๐Ÿ˜›

    YAY MSat! Congrats!

For the first & second trimesters I ate lots of cheeseburgers. I don’t know if it was because I was craving them, or if it was because I suddenly couldn’t stand chicken and they were my main source of protein. Now, 1 month from my due date, I’m all about chocolate milk, cereal, and apples. I’ve gained more than the “recommended” amount already, but I was small before I got pregnant, so I’m not worried.

Anyway, Angelina looks amazing. She really carries her emotions in her appearance – when she was down after her mother passed, she looked it. Now that she’s happier again, it shows.

Congratulations MSat ๐Ÿ˜€ Babies are wonderful and I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

On the topic of babies, visit this site the pictures are absolutely adorable (regardless of how one is voting). There are a couple of pages to go through but well worth it for smiles and warm fuzzies:

I never craved foods but I did choose certain ones.
I wanted my comfort foods- lots of carbs- stouffers french bread pizza, ice cream, bagels…
First trimester, the healthy stuff- certain fruits and salads were making me nauseous.
I gained more than “recommended” too and have the stretch marks to show for it. Wish I could have a mommy- tuck!

@ Anni: Thanks for the link! What a beautiful smile Angelina has in that photo.

@ MSat: How’s it going, girl? I remember wishing you congrats when you first mentioned your pregnancy here (seems like just yesterday!), and here you are, almost 6 months along. Wishing you all the luck there is, and may the best of your past be the worst of your future! ๐Ÿ˜›

I love love love her post-pregnancy body(and her during-pregnancy body, actually) – in the months right after Shiloh was born, she looked amazing too.

    Some girls are just lucky.

And I don’t buy that Angie was into junk food – she’s said in interviews that she craves milk and cheese. I don’t think that translates immediately to “pizza, hot pockets and french fries.”

Oh, I get it. “French” fries, because they were in France. I think US Weekly is staffed by monkeys. ๐Ÿ™„

That baby fat she hasn’t taken off yet is the reason she’ll lose in a fight against Jennifer Aniston.

“That baby fat she hasnโ€™t taken off yet is the reason sheโ€™ll lose in a fight against Jennifer Aniston”
Richie, dude, really i am so sick and tired of all this talk. Its never going to happen and if it did it will not happen for years. Could you imagain how the world and the world media would react if he walked out on this family? His career would be over, he would be lucky if he ever recovered from something like that. Six kids are involed!! 6!! He would be hated if he was just an ordinary guy in a small town let alone a Hollywood super stud (sigh). Its not going to freaking happen!! If you want Maniston so bad you go and do her!!! She looks like a dude with her funny shape face!

  13. anony says:

Richie is a troll who wants to start crap on here.

    Not going to work. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  14. mandee says:

I craved the mexican bean soup, i forgot the official name of it but it has the pinto beans in it and the bacon bits. Delish!

I think she looks the best after she has her babies. She just has this glorious glow.

  15. vdantev says:

Obviously it’s all just some ploy to show how much better she is than regular people, right haters ? ๐Ÿ™„

Richie, isn’t it a school night? Do you have your homework done ?

  16. Cheyenne says:

Question for you, Richie-bitchy, and I’ll try to keep it simple because I don’t want to tax that pea-sized brain of yours: if Aniston is rockin’ that great body, how come every man she’s been with since Brad has dumped her flat?

She’s already won in a fight with Aniston. The minute Brad set eyes on Angelina, poor Jennifer never had a chance.

  17. gia says:

she was actually very thin throughout her pregnancy though considering she was having twins. sorry, but i dont really buy it, i cant imagine jolie even smelling a hot pocket never mind eating one. i am sure she would indulge occassionally, like one slice of pizza and probably just a bite or two here & there of something she was really craving.

  18. lesann says:

Why do any of you bring JA into the conversation? They have moved on and now have the lives they want. Frankly, I get sick of everyone thinking that JA is unhappy because she doesn’t have a man. This is the 21st century and women don’t need men for happiness – nor children for that matter. Move on, people.

I would also give everything I own if people would stop saying “preggers”. It’s pregnant – not preggers or preggo. Grow up.
