Here are some new photos of Sandra Bullock outside her NY apartment, where she’s filming Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. At first I thought that Sandra was staging some photo ops to help counteract all the dumb sh*t her ex husband continues to do publicly, particularly put out a memoir. (I hope she had a strict nondisclosure agree in her divorce decree, although she probably continued to trust him and is getting burned yet again by his selfish behavior.) Now it seems clear to me that the paparazzi lay in wait for her and will hound her no matter what she does, so she may as well take advantage of it. She’s not freaking out or scowling and they’re probably shouting at her infant son, so that takes some admirable self control.
Sandra was seen heading out with Louis, going to the gym and then going out with her sister, baker Gesine Bullock-Prado. Sandra even held her sister’s book, Sugar Baby, probably as a kind of favor to help promote it. We’ve had a few paparazzi photos of celebrities with books lately and it seems like a recent trend. It’s almost quaint now that so many people are reading books on Kindles and iPads.
Sandra’s sister Gesine made an appearance on the Today Show today, Wednesday, to promote the new cookbook. (At least she announced she would on Facebook. I haven’t been able to find the video of her segment yet.) The last I heard of her she was running a bakery in Vermont. She also might help run a couple of restaurants that Sandra owns in Austin, Texas, Bess Bistro and Walton’s Fancy and Staple. (She has a bunch of dessert recipes on her website, Confessions of a Master Baker, that made me very hungry.) So I’ll give Sandra props for helping her sister get the word out about her book. By just carrying it to the car she may have earned her more publicity than the Today Show could.

Well, here’s your answer. Harry’s frozen Bullocks quit the expedition to the North Pole and now they’re parading around New York while the Princes forges on. I probably would have quit as well,….hate the cold.

She is a good sister. When Gesine oped a baker in VT Sandra helped serve during opening week. The line was down the block.

I love this woman! She is an incredible sister and now I am going to buy this baking book….you know, she has dated some wonderful men: Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Gosling, possibly Troy Aikmen. My heart goes out to her for the man she married (yes, she married him) turned out to be one of the biggest douches around!!!

I still love her! I know there’s been some questioning of her motives; some “she should have known” about that ass-hat she married; some “there’s no way she can be that wonderful” thoughts.
But I still think she’s cool. She seems like a good Mum, a consummate professional, and I know for a fact that no one keeps secrets like battered women AND men with “certain proclivities” they’d rather not have noticed by their wives.
AND she seems like a really good sister. (We’re in the process of a major move right now; Sis is watching the baby a couple days this weeek so we can finish packing un-interrupted. Love my Sis!)

you know what I really love about her? she doesn’t dress that boy up like a circus monkey like so many other celebrities do with their kids. he is a gorgeous, gorgeous little guy and his clothes look functional and wheather appropriate and worn!!! i love it.

crtb: I have seen what happens when the paparazzi descend upon a major celebrity in public. There are a lot of them, and they are often yelling; even when they are not the camera clicks are extremely loud; they sound like insects actually. You can’t tell because they all try to stay to the same side so as not to get in the shot and make it appear natural; but there are tons of people – mostly burly men – quite close to the celebrity. It could all be very scary to an infant. That’s probably why he’s not smiling. He always seems very calm and comfortable with her.
