Olivia Munn vs. Selita Ebanks: Battle Hymn of the Red Dresses

fp_7188236_munn_olivia_ria_05_20

Last night, Selita Ebanks and Olivia Munn co-hosted an event at Pure in Las Vegas for Skyy Infusions Dragon Fruit. They’ll throw a party for anything, won’t they? Anyway, the evening unexpectedly turned into a red dress fashion-off! I don’t know who designed these dresses, but I’m leaning more towards Olivia’s cute, graphic cocktail dress as opposed to Selita’s looser, more romantic dress. Plus, Selita’s hair is mess (cough cough*BANGSTRAUMA*cough).

fp_7188346_munn_olivia_ria_15_20

There is a problem with Olivia, though, and I think it’s her hair too. She chopped off her long hair a few months ago, and she basically has no idea what to do with her (grown-out) bob. I think the bob is cute, but I’m tired of seeing her styled the same way on every red carpet – and the girl loves her red carpets, so she’s been everywhere. But, if you’re going to style Olivia, you should definitely keep her in these kinds of simply-cut dresses, rather than big, fluffy evening gowns.

By the way, you know how Olivia is out of a job because NBC cancelled Perfect Couples? And do you remember that Tina Fey likes her and recommends her to directors? Ugh. Well, Tina is promoting and defending Olivia once again, this time in Punchline Magazine:

“I find it interesting that Olivia [Munn, a correspondent on The Daily Show] gets people who go after her on some of these sites because she’s beautiful, and that’s part of it. I think if she were kind of an aggressive, heavier girl with a Le Tigre mustache posing in her underpants, people would be like, ‘That’s amazing. Good for you.’ But because she’s very beautiful, people are like, ‘You’re using that.’ It’s a mess. We can’t figure it out.”

[From Punchline Magazine]

Here’s the thing – if Olivia Munn was as funny as Tina Fey, and Olivia was posing in her underwear THEN we would be like “I love her, sexy and funny.” But because Olivia is not funny, not talented, and is in reality just a hustling famewhore who leaks stories about herself and who she hooks up with, AND all she really does is pose for photos in her underwear and pose on red carpets looking budget… all of that is the reason why I don’t care for her. Plus, she has just ruined The Daily Show. Seriously.

I love Selita’s dress. The hair is meh but the dress is awesome :) I want it.

Too bad Perfect Couples is canceled. The couple with Olivia in it is funny and my fave. The other two were hackneyed.

Not a fan of the one sleeve thing but I love the pink detail strip on Selita’s dress. Pretty!

STOP IT TINA FEY. STOP ENABLING.

I agree that if she were talented, no one other than those who are truly “jealous bitches” would care if she sexed it up or was considered hot. But she’s not funny. She’s not talented. So yes, she is riding her looks. Don’t try and sell me funny and sexy and get mad when I call you out on the lack of funny.

Olivia Munn is not attractive! I wish the media would stop trying to make us think so. Shes also not funny or talented. Selita looks to skinny and needs something to lift up her saggy boobs.

Selita’s dress really works for me. As for Olivia’s, I was expecting the back to be embroidered with, “Will Work for Food” (Suspenders holding up a wood barrel).

I love Selita’s dress but wish it fit her a little better. Like have a burger & get the next size up, the 0 instead of the 00. I think I would probably like Olivia if I didn’t think she was a whore, which has more to do with her banging the Timberlake than if she had banged a whole football team. I also don’t like her dress. At all.

I would love to see Olivia Munn being funny. Right now I’m just “meh” on her because she seems like every fanboys dream. But I do not find her funny. I watch her show and it’s sometimes entertaining, but I never laugh at what she says. Same on the Daily Show. She’s just never very funny to me. If that changes, I’ll be all up in Munn corner, but for right now I’m just unamused.

Love Selita although she looks too thin; who is this Olivia sleeping with that she’s getting all the pub – a nicer version of Megan Fox?

Cosign the whole post, Kaiser, and especially about why you don’t like Olivia – nothing to do with looks, everything to do with lack of talent. And I too don’t think she’s all that pretty.
Pick a better aspiring comedy actress to root for, Tina, I beg you!

I don’t know enough about fashion to match socks, but I love Selita’s dress – flattering and flowy. True, hair is scary. I know there are a lot of Olivia haters, but I think she’s actually talented. Her dress reminds me of something you’d pick out at a low-rent club shop at the mall. Its not becoming.

I don’t get Olivia Munn at all. Who is she anyway? I just know my guy friends are all “a twitter” over her: literally. I don’t know who Selita is either but other than the “bangstrauma”, she’s beautiful.

  19. Kat says:

    Selita, hands down.

I really do not like Oliva Munn, at all. There’s something about her that really bugs me. I think it’s because she used her looks to get ahead, and acts like she didn’t. Nothing wrong with using everything in your arsenal, but at least be honest about it.

It’s a damn shame but Olivia is giving Selita run for her own money…Seriously though, how did Selita managed to downgrade her looks that much that Olivia beats her?

  23. Missy says:

Olivia could never win over Selita. Never. I won’t allow it. I don’t care how messy Selita looks. :)
On a less dramatic note, I have also never understood Olivia’s appeal. Frankly, I haven’t seen her act. But she always looks used, like someone who drinks too much or sleeps around a lot.

olivia munn is NOT beautiful. she’s also NOT funny, NOT talented, and NOT entertaining in any way.

no jealousy here, just really, truly do NOT get the appeal.

she’s an EXTREMELY AVERAGE girl in every way.

  25. In defense of Tina's defense says:

I agree about Munn. She’s not funny, she’s not talented, and I don’t think she’s that pretty. But as for Tina’s defending her, I just think that’s Tina Fey’s thing. She’s not going to tear down another woman. Have you read her book? It’s basically all about women being nicer to women. Seriously, I bet if we sat down and asked Tina about all the starlets who irk us, she’d find something nice to say about them all. And that can be Tina Fey’s thing, finding the silver lining for everyone.

  28. Buffy Wilson says:

Munn’s a cute girl like one I’d see in my neighborhood bar, but super beautiful, no. And that’s fine. But her sense of humor seems to consist of taking something a little bit funny (for example, going on about balls the last time she was on Conan, or the whole drunk co-host thing when she subbed for Kathie Lee) and beating it into the ground until you want to choke her. That is why I don’t like her.

  29. tvcon says:

Here’s the thing about Munn…she’s laughing all the way to the $$$$. Did you know she gets $30,000 an appearance? Most of us that bash her don’t make $30,000 a year.

  30. P.M. says:

Like the dress on Selita better, the color is good for her but it needs to be tailored to fit, plus get rid of the huge sleeve. She had her hair cut short & is letting it grow out which explains the trauma.

  31. doom_n_gloom says:

I went into it with an open mind considering I have no clue who this chick is, but after seeing her on Youtube trying, and failing, to tell some boring ass story on Conan, I’ve come to the conclusion that Olivia Munn pretty much sucks. Didn’t know she has her own channel on there with like 64 videos of pure FAIL. She must think she’s sooo funny but sadly, she’s sooo not. I don’t even think she’s really that good looking so can someone please tell me how she “used her looks to get ahead”? She just looks so damn plain.
