Holly Madison is broken up over Hef; trying to move on

It’s kinda hard to have sympathy for a Playboy Playmate after a breakup. Sure you know they’re distraught and despondent and you want to be there for them (and by that I mean sitting in front of the tube watching Girls Next Door while yelling at Hef), but it’s hard to summon the appropriate amount of empathy for tiny waisted, big boobed, tiny brained women. You know they’re going to be dating some C list celeb by the end of the week – worst case scenario maybe a “sorta hot in a rugged way” football player. But ultimately a bunny is going to rally, and a hell of a lot better than the rest of us.

But Holly Madison is still working her tears.

“I wanted everyone to know, because I don’t like to pretend,” she told E! News of her decision earlier this month to come clean about her breakup with Hef. “You know, I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I want everyone to know what I’m thinking.”

While the rumor mill has been consistently buzzing about a possible romance between Madison and unlikely celeb chick magnet Criss Angel, the Playmate is maintaining that the only relationship she has with the Las Vegas illusionist is a platonic one. “Oh my god, we’re friends,” she said at Monday night’s Bowling for Boobies breast-cancer fundraiser. “I like him, but we are too busy. We’re not, like, dating or anything.” Nor are they likely to anytime soon.

“I’m not looking for a guy right now—I’m in love with myself. Everybody should be in love with themselves.” And while she’s clear about the fact that she and Hef are no longer an item, she’s not one to kiss—or not kiss, as the case may be—and tell. “I’m doing really good. I want to let Hef talk about [the breakup] for the next couple weeks…I’m being quiet, but I’m doing really good.”

To prove just how good she’s doing, Madison is getting ready to take her permanent leave of the Playboy Mansion, particularly with the next generation of girlfriends nipping at her heels. “Well, I do have my own place,” she said. “So I’ve got a place to go, but, you know, I’m kind of, like, in limbo right now.”

She doesn’t, however, begrudge her replacements, the arrest-prone Karissa and Kristina Shannon, despite the fact that their recently uncovered checkered past came as quite a surprise. “Well, I worked with them on their Playmate pictorial and obviously I need to get better at doing my background checks, right? You know, we ask on the application, ‘Have you ever been arrested or convicted?’ and they said no, so I took that at face value, but if Hef doesn’t care, than who am I to care, right?”

[From E! News]

I hate to admit this but I actually really like Holly. She’s just a little different than the other girls. It’s nothing spectacular, but you get the sense that there’s a little bit of self respect or class or… something. I don’t want to say intelligence as that’s not quite the right word. But if any of Hef’s girlfriends had to perform open-heart surgery, I’d go with Holly without a second thought. What a way to put it.

Holly will obviously be able to move on right away and snag a guy without a problem. I’m sure she’ll be married and settled with babies just like she wanted in a few years.

I know what you mean JayBird. I think she’s basically what we call “sound” – basically under all the paint and peroxide, there’s a decent, likeable woman.

Oh, please. If she’s broken up over anything, it’s all the cash she won’t be getting because she couldn’t get knocked up by the geezer. You think if Hef was your average 82 year old she’d ever have anything to do with him?

  3. elisha says:

I’d pick Bridget to do my open heart suregey – she has a college education. Having watched the show, I DO believe Holly is broken up over this.

  4. vdantev says:

Her bank account has never been this empty. 🙁 WAH!!!

  5. I know what you mean too. Holly Madison does have something different. I don’t know what it is but I know it isn’t intelligence. I also believe she is sad about this, but like everything else in life this too shall pass and this will all just be a distant memory. 8)

WHY do celebrities (im gunna use the word loosely) think its soooo funny to hold up bowling balls, pumpkins, catalopes, etc up tp their chest like boobs? haha, are we in like 3rd greade? i swear ive seen so many pictures like that in the past week or so!
wow, they are so witty! bowling balls like BOOBS! 🙄

  7. Rosanna says:

I do like Holly too! To me, it looked like she was the only one who really cared about Hef.

  8. RAN says:

I’m with the rest of you… for some reason, I feel bad for her. It sort of surprises me that Hef just managed to move on so quickly. Goes to show what a jerk he really can be.

  9. Tina says:

Wow, Holly looks her age in the header photo. The only thing she possibly regrets is spending seven years with Hef. Hopefully, she has a parachute ready. I like her… She reminds me of my friend’s cousin who dated a teppanyaki restaurant chain’s married son for ten years… with only empty promises. Good for Holly for acknowledging her pain and hopefully moving on, because unlike Holly, my friend’s cousin’s still dating the jerk.

I really like Holly. She is NOT a dumb blone at all . If you watched their show you would know that. She did genuinely love Hef but he couldn’t give her what she needed. Simple. 😉

  11. Hotgirl says:

I like her too but she’s crazy to have thought that Hef would divorce his wife…yes Hef’s still married but separated for years now. His wife and children live in the estate next to the playboy mansion and he still takes care of her. She was deluding herself.

  12. Ranjani says:

SHe is a very likeable person…Hef should of been proud to have her in his life. I hope she finds what she is looking for.

  13. dannii says:

you know-whatever you want to say about her (and i think she is an idiot for wanting to be with a pervy old man who has two other girlfriends) i read an interview she gave to a newspaper over here and she really had feelings for him-talking about getting married and growing old together (well he’s done that bit at least.) i think she had genuine feelings for him and i think it may have been a bit more than just not being able to give her kids that eventually made her leave.

  14. jess says:

you know…i really want to like her, but i think she just gives good interviews.

why? because the girls next door shot at a resort that i have 2 friends at (one manager, one head bellman) and apparently she was a BITCH! she forgot her swimsuit and was complaining that this little beach town (avila beach, ca) resort didnt have a suit small enough for her. it was crazy how she went on.

  15. dovesgate says:

How odd that the concierge in Avila couldn’t get in touch with one of the shops in SLO or 5 Cities to get her a bathing suit. You have to figure that in L.A., she’s probably used to having someone go the extra mile because of her celebrity.

  16. Erin says:

Initially, I liked Holly. It’s obvious that she cared about Hef and that she’s not an idiot. However, I’ve watched pretty much every episode of Girls Next Door (it’s shameful, I know, but it’s my guilty pleasure), I’ve grown more and more fond of Kendra. She does annoy me and she is air-headed, but she really seems like the most genuine and nice of all three of them. Holly and especially Bridget come off to me like it’s all an act, and deep down they’re not nice, they’re just awful and spiteful. That’s just my opinion, but I do hope that Holly can relinquish her 15 minutes of fame gracefully. She could dye her hair to a semi-natural shade, get a good deep conditioning treatment, and look completely gorgeous and live a nice, happy, normal life with someone who isn’t 3 times her age.

  17. snappyfish says:

I have always liked holly and I do agree about the idea that she has a little more ‘class’ about her. but that isn’t the right word either.

I can see how living the whirl wind lifestyle they enjoyed would be intoxicating and it always seemed like she really cared for the old man.

    Oh well.

  18. Aryn says:

I think im gonna cry, I heard all of the girls next door broke up. There is probably no other job out there better then what they had. Stupid decision.

  19. stine says:

i think all three girls loved him a lot… i just think hef wants a new bunch of girls i think its time for him to settle down him self.. i like them all… i think the new twins he has now want his money they r ugly and could care less about him..they just want fame and money…
