Britney Spears capped off a good few months with a great week. Her new website launched, her first single off her upcoming CD hit number one on the charts, and she’s managed to talk a bit about her public breakdown without coming off worse for the wear.
Obviously Brit’s longest-running – and most important – struggle has been with motherhood. She’s been involved in a long and arduous custody battle and has worked with professionals on her parenting skills. With improvement has come increased visitation and a greater role in her sons’ lives. She looked truly joyful and happy to see them – in fact the entire Spears clan (sans a seemingly permanently shunned to Louisiana Jamie Lynn) looked really happy.
Britney Spears got to spend the day with her boys Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline in Los Angeles on October 17, 2008. The pop star, who is holding down the #1 spot on the charts this week, seemed extremely happy to be joined by her parents Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears as she picked the little ones up from pre-school. Jamie and Lynne along with a bodyguard followed Britney closely as she smiled and carried Jayden while a nanny held a tired looking Sean Preston. Though she was flanked by people to help her, it seems Britney is getting back into the swing of being a doting mother!

The only reminder of “old” Britney was her ongoing trial for the world’s most minor infraction of driving without a driver’s license. She does in fact have one, but has lived in California for the past several years, while her license is from her home state of Louisiana. The case appears to hinge on whether Britney is technically a resident of Louisiana or California. Though the jury started deliberating today, they didn’t reach a verdict and have retired for the weekend. I’m assuming they’ll manage to figure something out by the end of the day on Monday. If not, lawyers are even trickier than I thought.

I find it hard to believe that they are having a jury trial over a driving-without-a-license infraction. Most states require you to get a license in that state within 30 days of moving there. She definitely is a CA resident, she owns property there, lives there. It seems pretty black and white to me, and only Britney could waste taxpayers’ dollars by running up the court costs like that. Bah.
But she has a home in Louisiana, too. I think. But still, considering what she’s been through, I can’t believe they’re making such a big deal about the license. 🙄

the only question is where is most of her time spent? I can’t believe there is a trial to figure out where she lives or figure that out where she can vote. Sounds fair to me. But hey, she’s a celebrity so we can have trials over trivial matter such as this. Seriously we all know the laws, and if she’s too lazy to get a license for the state she lives in she should get what’s coming to her…but alas she’ll be found not guilty. How is it possible for her to get a non-biased jury of her peers?

I hope she is required to pay court costs when she loses this case. The 30 day rule is pretty common knowledge. Even if she didn’t know it, someone on her staff of lawyers, accountants, etc probably advised her to update her license. This is our tax dollars, ya ‘ll!
Does Twatney call the Pappz every time she’s has her kids? The “Lookit me y’all” parade continues. Never mind the kids look miserable.
Green: I wouldn’t put it past Britney (or one of her handlers, since she probably can’t operate a phone) to call the paps to capture her in “mommy” mode. She likely had the little ones over to see her new trashy video. What’s deemed inappropriate in most families is wildly encouraged amongst this f*cked up bunch. Poor kids.
If she does call the paps, I don’t hold it against her at all. They were all there salivating when she was having all her problems–everyone enjoyed watching her misery and her breakdown. Why shouldn’t she show off the fact that she’s doing really well, looking good, having time with her kids, etc.? I might do the same thing. The world was happy to watch her hit rock bottom…they can suck it up and watch her happiness, too.
