Lady Gaga’s little monsters attack Adele on Twitter over Gaga’s VMA snubs

wenn3440980

This story comes as a request from several commenters. Did you just want an open forum to discuss this issue, or if you just wanted to hear my take on it, given that I am firmly entrenched in Team Adele, forever and always. The basic story: last week, the VMA (MTV Video Music Award) nominations came out, and while Lady Gaga got a significant number of noms for Born This Way (3 in total), she was out-nominated overall by both Katy Perry (the VMA nomination leader) and Adele (who got 7 nominations). So what did Gaga’s Little Monsters do in retaliation for their Queen Monster being “snubbed”? They went on a really inappropriate, gross, disgusting bender of nastiness.

According to AHN, “Gaga’s fans took to Twitter to attack the British singer and her weight because she didn’t sweep the Video Music Awards nominations like the previous year, when she earned 13.” Comments from the little monsters on Twitter included: “Adele probably ate Lady Gaga’s other nominations” and “CONFIRMED: Gaga will not be wearing the meat dress at the 2011 VMA’s because she is afraid Adele will eat her.” Also: “Adele: ‘I’m bootyful in my way, cause Arbys makes noooo mistakes, I’ve got the right order, baby I was borrrn this weeeigggghttt.'”

Two things are weird about the fan reaction: one, there were barely any high-profile attacks on Katy Perry, only Adele. Two, Gaga preached tolerance and her anti-bullying messages are pretty clear. Now, even though Gaga has been pissing me off for a while, I don’t think she should be held accountable for her most rabid and insane fans. That being said, it wouldn’t hurt for her to do some high-profile damage control, lest people associate her with her deranged fans. And I really hope Adele hasn’t heard about this. This is ridiculous.

By the way, Adele’s album 21 is STILL at number one on the UK charts, topping Katy and Gaga. She’s on her 18th consecutive week at number one, and her first album, 19, is climbing the charts again too. You know why? Because Adele matters in ways that Lady Gaga can only dream of. Because Adele has more raw talent in her pinkie than Gaga has in her entire body. Because TEAM ADELE, BITCHES.

Sidenote: You want to know how obsessed I am with 21? I have the thing downloaded into my iPod, plus I bought the CD, and I haven’t stopped listening to the album in my car in MONTHS.

I don’t think there’s even a team to be on here – it’s not Gaga vs Adele, it’s Gaga’s crazy fans vs Adele. And Gaga seems kind of cool as a person (leaving her public performance shit out of it) so I hope she’ll come out and smack that shit down.

  2. skilo says:

Aww sucks when you have to manufacture a persona to get any attention because you lack any real talent huh? Katy Perry is a talent less bimbo and Gaga is a tired act. Adele is naturally beautiful, unbelievably talented and modest and gracious as well. Team Adele Forever!

    • Kassie K Williama says:

Lady gas is naturally talented and unlike Adele u don’t have to be in a certain popularity level to like her or HAVE A BROKEN HEART because 21 is literally talkin about a heart break in all of the songs lady gagas broken the record for most downloads and most YouTube views. And and and and and how is lady gaga a tired act?!?!!!!?!!!!!?!!!!! You will rarely see her perform the same song the same way Adele only sits her fat ass on stage and sings or just stands there!!!!

      • Wanted says:

Adele has way more talent than lady crap! Haters stick together and that definitely make you and whoever else is calling her fat one of them. Weight don’t matter. And if it came down to it Adele would sure as hell win either battle. Her voice is way better and so is her body. Unlike lady gaga sick anorexic lookin ass. That bitch look like she’s dying. She looks the fuck tired that’s why her act is so weak!

      • Susan says:

Why wouldn’t I want to hear the song the way its meant to be heard? I will admit Lady Gaga has talent, but she is ruining it with all the crazy shit she does. She is not a savior, and her song born this way? Ashford and Simpson had a much better version that came out a few years before Gaga’s did, oops.

    • Toni Brainziac says:

lady gaga has better vocals than that depressed hoe! adele has more sales in the uk not the U.S. and lady gaga has more billboard singles and #1 hits. adele is just a trend because most of the world is becoming fat or depressed. or both like adele. adele only has so many nominations because she is just coming out. shes eventually gonna get old like most intelligent individuals have noticed already lady gaga is the whole package plus she pays more to charities unlike adele who spends all her money on fucking food. and i have no problem with katy, she has fun hits, but nothing huge. Who’s the next queen of pop? we all know the answer is lady gaga not the crybaby adele who sounds like shes drooling in her fucking sleep. lady gaga looks better, has better vocals, has variety in her genres and clothing, and she’s making more money. She’s a global superstar!! ohh adele, i hope you get diabetes. you have a pointy butt chin also, just sayin’. Adele is going through her 15 minutes of fame.
      #TEAMGAGA4EVER

      • She spends all her money on food? Ur clearly mentally challenged or smoking crack if u think Lady Gaga has better vocals than Adele. I like LG as much as the next idiot, but lets b serious. Adele SINGS. She has no place on the pop chart because I wouldnt describe her music as Pop. Closer to R&B. LADY Gaga is an entertainer. A good one but lets just keep it real. Singing wise… Shes not gonna beat Adele

      • ToyaTheRenegade says:

      • Panos says:

Well…… I think she has already done this… But, I also think both of them as well as Katy Perry are very good in their way. I mean, Lady Gaga is a Pop Queen, something that is not meant to change, Katy Perry comes 2nd while Adele(with her stunninig voice) has become a very good singer in the R&B section. In my opinion Adele’s fame is temporary, but until it ends, let’s enjoy her music and not fight for who is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):):)

  3. The Original Ashley says:

If anyone should be getting attacked it’s autotune Perry, but I digress. I can see why her album wouldn’t be nominated, it sucks. Her first one was a lot better but it must suck to be so try hard all the time and not get recognition for your videos which are supposed to be her “art”. I don’t watch music videos any more so I can’t comment any further on who is better, but the two of Gaga’s I did see, I wasn’t impressed. With the amount creative energy she puts in to finding new ways to wear leftover scraps of lace from Joann’s you would think she’d channel some of that into her videos.

But then again I don’t really think she is all that artistic. Most of it probably comes from her stylist.

  4. Mata says:

I’ve seen Adele in interviews and it seems like she’s got a lot of confidence and a really good head on her shoulders. I would hope she’d let those comments blow past her. I totally agree that Gaga should publicly address some of that behavior when the little monsters go on a rampage, which they do frequently. Particularly since tolerance and anti-bullying are such big messages for her and it’s probably her youngest fans that are doing it.

  5. skilo says:

    Katy Perry=auto-tuned crap

Lady GaGa=crazy costumed re-purposed Madonna imitator

    Adele=pure talent

  6. Fritzi Schniter says:

Adele is so beautiful. She truly speaks to a broken heart. Pop bubblegum music has it’s place, but for music with meaning, Adele reigns supreme.

  7. michael bays comb over says:

yeah you would think its strange that although katy got more noms gaga’s fans have decided to ignore her and attack adele-maybe not so surprising as it shows they are incredibly shallow and see adele as an easy target.

or maybe a lot of gaga fans are katy fans and thats the reason? would make sense they both make similar music and are both vapid.

  8. Cherry Rose says:

    @skilo – Cosign.

I won’t blame Gaga for having some crazy fanatics. Almost every big celebrity has them (Bieber, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston), so it’s not really fair to associate her with them.

But seriously, to bring Adele’s weight into it? I will concur Adele might be overweight, but she isn’t obese by any means. And she’s still lovely looking.

Gaga needs to do a statement congratulating Adele on her nominations or she needs to tell her “monsters” to chill out.

Off topic: Jesse James and Kat Von D split!

  9. brin says:

Team Adele (talent) all the way. ITA with Anne de Vries…it would be nice if Gaga told her monsters to STFU.

  10. Diane says:

There is no comparing Adele, she is the BEST. Nice to know others love her as much as me. The more I listen to her music, the more I love her. As for the twits out there, grow up!

  11. the original bellaluna says:

    @ skilo & brin – Co-sign! *and waves @ our crew*

It will speak volumes (okay, she’s shallow, so pages I guess) about Gaga if she doesn’t address her little monsters’ bad behaviour. She speaks of them so lovingly. Well, mama discipline your children!

Neither Gaga nor Perry is fit to do Adele’s laundry, let alone be compared to her powerful, beautiful voice or her sense of self. Adele owns herself, and that is a beautiful thing.

  12. Jules says:

Gaga’s ‘monster’s’ are well named. Adele has real talent. She does not have to dress up like a freak in order to earn attention (Gaga) or act like a bimbo (Perry). In five years Adele will still be around and the other 2 will be long gone. Team Adele all the way.

    • Allie says:

Try in 20 years… I agree with you. I think Adele’s career is going to go much further. I like Katy a little, I think she will find her niche one day…maybe go back to doing Christian music at some point. Gaga is a circus act to me. She wastes that Julliard trained talent to be a “monster”…whatever that is. I love how Adele is just raw pure talent. Case closed. She doesn’t need to be rail thin, she doesn’t need a gimmick, all she has to do is open her mouth and let her gift come flowing out.

  13. constance says:

    1. Adele is relatively “new” to the average American consumer, so likely she qualifies for more categories in the first place.

    2. Who the F**K cares about the VMAs? They are so tired and irrelevant to the majority of adults who still follow talented musicians as much as they did in 1984-1994. (The Glory days of the channel formerly an known as Music Television)

“Monsters” need to grow up and stop acting like a blind rats because they want to be including on the current bandwagon. sad.

  14. the original bellaluna says:

@ Constance – Your last comment brought to mind the Pied Piper!

  15. brin says:

    Mornin bellaluna!

  16. Nanea says:

    Another Team Adele here.

What I don’t get – neither Adele nor Katy P nor anyone else among the nominated people have had a hand in actually making sure Gaga is not nominated in more categories. Those fans who went on Twitter to rant don’t seem to be too bright, but they’re quite thoughtlessly hurtful.

  17. Leigh says:

    Oh the irony.

The self proclaimed anti bullying queen’s little monsters have verbally attacked Adele…

    Tacky. Just like Gaga.

Adele is a gorgeous, talented woman that we will be listening to for years to come. Let’s hope Gaga fades away with all her tacky, hateful fans..

  18. madpoe says:

I’ve been listening to Adele on my ipod nonstop! She is an incredible singer with wonderful lyrics. Whether she goes home with awards or not, the following day, Adele is still AMAZING!

  19. gee says:

GaGa doesn’t deserve nominations for this last album. It kind of sucked. At least Katy Perry is in on her own camp. GaGa’s hype is too much for not enough substance.

And Adele is not only talented, but she is effing beautiful.

  20. Victoria says:

I used to really like Lady but she just tries waaaayyy too hard! Corn Cheese and Sap..! ugh Does Lady really take her self that seriously? Seriously?.. I repeat- UGH

  21. Victoria says:

Um Lady Gaga..? Madonna called.. uh huh..RIGHT?.. I was there.. Madonna did it better and fresher! Word

  22. katsrulz says:

I have been falling out of love with Gaga and this just confirmed it. If the most rabid of her fans are that close minded, cruel, and unfair then clearly the message in her music is failing and she is failing as an artist. Adele needs no costumes or dancers because she isn’t performance art. I can see her smoking a cig and rolling her eyes at all this….or at least I hope she is and doesn’t take these jabs from 14 year old Mean Girls seriously.

  23. The Truth Fairy says:

Well it makes sense that the most annoying performer on the planet would have the most annoying fans on the planet ….

  24. RocketMerry says:

Adele is so pretty. Pretty, talented and with absolutely flawless skin. Gaga who?

  25. Eve says:

    @ Leigh:

I agree with you. Oh, and I’m not surprised by this…the more mediocre the singer is, the angrier, most rabid fans he/she has: remember when Bieliebers attacked Esperanza Spalding, calling her “Quesadilla” among other racial insults because she dared to win at the Grammys?

I don’t think it’s physically possible but if she doesn’t address this, doesn’t apologize in any way and acts like her usual ultra arrogant self…I think I’ll hate her a little more.

  26. WaywardGirl says:

Adele is very pretty even with her weight. Add her amazing talent. People are morons. Adele sweep the VMAs girl!

  27. constance says:

@ original bellaluna: Cheers! I totally agree. Many celebrities do play the Pied Piper game. (R KElly even calls himself the PP- ick!)

The whole cult of celebrity has many options for your reverence. Too bad most of them are just sub-standard marketing dolls. I remember when my younger sister was OBSESSED with NSYNC in her grade schools days. They weren’t burning down hotel rooms, peeing on underage groupies, or organising charity scams at their concerts. So I was the one who told my mom I didn’t see anything wrong with her fanatic phase.

They weren’t outright selling any friend/fan tenets either. That’s become quite the marketing idea. Sell your fans the idea that they are in a movement, a cause, and a rally cry against the world that doesn’t understand.

  28. Micki says:

What I find ridiculous is that a singer is criticized for her…weight! Were she a model…but kilos against nominations…. Whoever set the course of this attack is only displaying his severe brain damage.

  29. Eve says:

I’d like to correct my previous comment by saying that I kinda want her (Caca) not to apologize so I can hate her a little more.

  30. Cindy says:

Don’t worry, Gaga fans. Some MTV intern probably got confused and sent the Express Yourself, I mean Born This Way, nominations to Madonna by accident.

  31. fabchick says:

I love Adele. I used to be a GaG fan but the gimmicks went to far with me. Like the pic above. The lace on the face and all that crap. Gaga has a nice voice I wish she would strip that mess off and just get on stage and sing. No dancers. No special effects or costumes.

    • Pandasrock18 says:

I like both Adele and lady but I think I was very unnecessary for the gaga fans (monsters) to try and hurt Adele for winning awards I mean come on who cares does it really matter so and if gaga is trying to stop bullying then why are the gaga fans bullying Adele

  32. LucyOriginal says:

“You know why? Because Adele matters in ways that Lady Gaga can only dream of. Because Adele has more raw talent in her pinkie than Gaga has in her entire body.” Exactly! I was so sad that I couldn’t buy tickets for her US tour because it was sold out. I was even considering to travel to the west coast for the concerts in LA.

  33. L says:

Wait…why do the monsters care about the VMAs? They suck. Always have always will and they are totally fixed.

Now if this were the grammys….I’d be like why the F is Katy Perry nominated? I love Adele’s ’19’ and it’s been in solid rotation on the ipod since it first came out a few years ago. The woman has pipes and is a real talent. The monsters need to back off.

  34. Riana says:

I actually do blame Gaga, her monsters have been out of control on Twitter and Internet forums for a very long while attacking: Bette Mudler, Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and at the latest Adele.

And what has she said or done about it? That’s right kids, nothing. Because preaching acceptance and anti-bullying is only useful if it can be sold on a CD or get her a public speaking engagement.

I think Gaga uses anti-bullying the way politicians use the issue of the month to further themselves, she has an opportunity to be genuinely proactive and stop bullying done by HER OWN FANS and instead she chooses to ignore it until the next concert rolls around and she can sing ‘Born this way’

I’ve come to realize Gaga is as shallow as her music and all attempts at depth are as false as her costumes.

    ::drops mic::

  35. Shaz says:

Adele has a brilliant talent – she doesn’t have to trade on sex appeal or gimmicks to be relevant.

  36. mln76 says:

Adele is in such a different league than Gaga and Katy Perry. She actually can sing and she doesn’t need all the pop trappings to manufacture talent. BUT you can’t blame Gaga for her A-hole fans. And BTW Gaga may have a ‘yoga’ body but she isn’t even a fraction as beautiful as Adele.

  37. Eve says:

    @ Riana:

    Love your comment (# 34) 🙂 .

I’ve come to realize Gaga is as shallow as her music and all attempts at depth are as false as her costumes.

    Exactly.

  38. the original bellaluna says:

@ constance – I’ve been a huge fan of U2 since I was 12. When Live Aid was organised, THAT was an ACTUAL movement. When Sting sang “I Hope the Russians Love Their Children, Too” – THAT was a song that resonated amongst my friends and me. Now, it’s all just tripe. So much fodder about how so-an-so won’t marry until everyone can or won’t tweet until so many people donate so much and such nonsense. Here’s a thought: so some research, pick a charity and write a cheque.

    /rant *steps off soap box*

  39. lucy2 says:

Adele is amazing, and I truly hope she does not give a rats ass what a bunch of immature jerks are saying, because it doesn’t matter.
If Gaga is so anti-bullying (and builds her career and image with her attention to issues), you’d think A) her fans would get that message and not do it or B) she’d step up and tell them to knock if off.

  40. LOVE ANGELINA says:

What was the attack on Gaga’s talent all about? IMO Gaga and Adele are two totally different genres of music. Don’t bother comparing them. How do you even compare pop and soul? Adele is amazing. Beautiful voice. Gaga is amazing. Beautiful voice, piano player, dancer, and visual artist. They’re just different. Thats fine. They are also both very talented.

Lady Gaga is also a very busy person, I personally think ignoring morons is the way to go and I am sure Adele knows she has many loyal fans who adore her and these people who named call her are nothing but half wits with nothing better to do with their day.

  41. beth says:

Why are they even being compared? They are different genres. I like them both, but obviously Adele is at a whole other level than Gaga.

  42. Mia says:

Totally agree with Riana. The little monsters have been total terrors to anyone who doesn’t worship at the altar of Lady Blah Blah. They and the Bieber twits are the worst bullies around.

Gaga didn’t get nominated because Madonna did it better 20 years ago and because it makes for a better show when there’s some variety.

Adele was pretty chill about her nominations, even joking that she was going to start selling a line of chairs. Class act! Katy Perry was happy and appreciative. The one who should have been pissed was Rhianna. She got no nominations and she’s had some good videos over the last year.

  43. antisara says:

Adele is fresh talent, Gaga is an old freak circus act…sometimes “people (monsters) get what they deserve”, if you know what i mean.

    • gillylovesgaga says:

if “fresh talent” is -fat depressed ugly women singing- than i guess youre right and “old clown act”-is beautiful women with the body of a godess talent thats better than the rest and a personality that shines brighter than the sun- well youre right once again -_o

  44. Hollowdoll says:

Adele is pure awesomeness. LG doesn’t compare.

  45. Eve says:

    @ Lucy2:

If Gaga is so anti-bullying (and builds her career and image with her attention to issues), you’d think A) her fans would get that message and not do it or B) she’d step up and tell them to knock if off.

    I thought about that too.

  46. Linds says:

I don’t get the entire world’s fascination with Gaga. As a person she seems awesome and very eccentric but down to earth and kind. Her performance art may be crazy but it’s definitely better than simply gyrating on stage and dirty dancing with a guy to a pop song. But her songs are highly overrated, besides maybe one or two, as they are just dance ballads with some heavy lyrics thrown in. Adele is okay as well, great voice, seems genuine. Gaga already won last year, now its someone elses turn. Gaga fans are like 12 and 13 year old girls..Adele fans seem to be adults and young adults who can relate to her soulful sound. Gaga should just go away for a while…too much image saturation.

  47. Tierra says:

I hope Adele wins every single category even tho I know those awards are rigged to automatically go to whoever happens to be ‘popular’ at the time. I dont think they’ve ever given them out based on talent alone. I dont watch them for that reason. Gaga’s fans are crazy and in denial if they thing gaga can has more talent that Adele. Adele is a natural talent where as Gaga, Katie Perry, RiRI are nothing more than gimmicks.
At least they didnt nominate the auto-tuned RiRi for most of the awards.

  48. margaritachum says:

adele’s middle name is talent. so team adele too.
and talking about her weight is just what monsters would do. she’s beautiful and always looks amazing and girl can sing. i’m a rock and roll/40’s 50’s music girl but when adele’s on i stop everything just to listen (it happens with amy too), that’s how good she is. she can make people stop just to hear her. and what does gaga do? a big deja vu. cause we all seen it years ago with madonna but it was better and actually new.

  49. Caca says:

It’s VMA not Nobel Prize. Some people are delusional… it means a lot of people.

  50. ViktoryGin says:

    Obesity: the last acceptable bias.

It’s supreme ignorance such as this that makes me want to support eugenics.

    Disclaimer: I’m not advocating extermination.

    Necessarily.

  51. Addie says:

I’m sorry, after loosing a great like Amy Winehouse, these people want to attck one of the few remaining GIFTED musicians like Adele.
What kind off rabid fans does Gaga attract?!?!

  52. Mindy says:

Just shows how a group of fans who are told by their idol to be accepting of everyone have chosen brash pack mentality and gone after ‘the fat girl’… seems like freaking middle school antics. If Gaga doesn’t publicly chastise them all for this and congratulate Adele, it prove yet again what a total charade her “act is.

I’m completely Team Adele. I’ve been listening non-stop to 21 for months now (and that is after listening to 19 constantly for two years). She is phenomenally talented, completely old school and in the grand scheme of things, SHE will be remembered for her contributions to music, not Gaga.

My 12 year old son has a HUGE crush on Adele. He fell in love with her voice… and loves her because she’s REAL (he thinks she’s truly beautiful, inside and out). There is no “act” she’s putting on. She’s always just herself and it shows. He despises Gaga and her little monsters, because he KNOWS they really are just that… monsters, who won’t accept anyone who isn’t LIKE THEM.

  53. constance says:

    @ original bellaluna:
Phil Collins dual Live Aid performances- epic. It was a very noble effort when you think about the controversies with recent concert/telethon where donations never make it to the charity. (Or when Gaga gets sued for making profit from Charity bracelets.)

While Geldof was the ultimate organsing force, U2, and countless others, promoted it as much as they could and for the right reasons. Unlike the Mama Monster movement, Bono never made a trendy catch phrase for his “real” fans like U2LifeAiders, or some nonsense.

I’m fine with celebrities supporting causes. However, Gaga’s fanclub is not a movement, its a bunch of young people who enjoy her brand of entertainment while being caught up into believing in her twitter feed like Divine Tutelage, and crusading in her name. It’s just as fake as she is and obviously not producing anything beneficial to anyone.

Maybe they all need to be positive additions to their community and join neighborhood clean-ups. Oh wait. That would mean that Monsters wouldn’t have anything to be discriminated against when they present themselves as good people of all backgrounds.

(Can you tell I’m avoiding work and the coffee hasn’t arrived yet? lol)

  54. Marianne says:

I like Gaga and Adele. And also Katy Perry. I wouldn’t go attacking another artist though, just because one I like didn’t make get a nod.

    • c says:

I agree, because I think that both artists are talented in their own way. To be honest, if fans don’t respect another singer’s work, they aren’t true fans at all. So saying one is not talented makes you just as bad.

Overall, music is subjective, and there’s always a little beauty in something ugly.

  55. jover says:

Agree with 5 and constance; it’s the VMA’s who really watches this dog and pony show – can you imagine back in the day real musicians like Jimi and Janis worrying about some fake award show; they were too cool to even bother with that stuff – and yes mindy everything about Lady xerox is an act – look at that pic of gaggles in her senior yr. at sacred heart in jeans, highlights, and AF or AE tee shirt – completely ordinary. ALso, this moron has stated she’s the best singer/songwriter of this gen and BTW will be the album of the decade. GO on pandora type in Duran Duran listen to ten or so songs and then listen to BTW original and revolutionary only to soccer moms and 12 yr olds; I despise gaga because she knows absolutely nothing about art but confirms in some of the public’s mind the stereotypes of art and artists – btw, original bellaluna I’m seeing U2 tonight.

  56. GeekChic says:

@Kaiser, I haven’t taken Adele out of my car in over a month. My 7 year old daughter and I sing together to every single song on 21. Of course, we sound like shit compared to her, but at least we are in the car and can only offend our own ears.

  57. endoplasmic_ridiculum says:

I think the “newest” thing gaga could do would be to go out in civilian clothing with minimal, pretty makeup and a pair of jeans.

I, for one, would be genuinely shocked.

  58. Whatever!!! says:

Shockingly I think GaGa has talent, but not enough for her to get a nod over Adele. Adele is one of those rare finds. Truly talented and beautiful inside and out. The little gaga fans need to chill out. If gaga deserved it she would have gotten it. She didn’t deserve it so she didn’t get it.

  59. girlwithapearl says:

    OH BITCH NO.
I’m not going to start pitting Gaga and Adele against each other. I’m just going to focus on these horrible little clusterfucks who are bashing my girl. Lady Gaga got an obscene amount of nominations last year, and lets face it, 2011 is the Year of Adele. All over the world. IMO these fans are just bitter little bitches.

  60. the original bellaluna says:

    @ jover – LUCKY! 🙂

  61. MarenGermany says:

I am neither a fan of Gaga, but I agree that she would not be happy with some of her obsessed fans.

Adele is stunning in every way.
    Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

  62. Jana says:

People, it’s a best video music award. It’s not best singer or best songs. Its the hits and how they adapted them in video form artistically. And The Little Monsters can cry all they want, only Judas was any good, which I liked, as far as her videos this year.

  63. SolitaryAngel says:

I am Team Adele all the way–there is no comparison between her and the other 2 in this category; Adele is majorly talented, beautiful no matter her size, and a REAL person. Ms Lace Face and “Look at my boobs” Perry are dim bulbs on the talent tree and Adele is its crowning star.

@ Mindy: About your son loving Adele–my own son is the same way, only he is 22. While he and I share most of the same taste in music (Ozzy, Shinedown, Foo Fighters, Within Temptation etc), I introduced him to Rolling In the Deep (the video) and he was as stunned as I was when I first heard her voice. Now he loves her music, loves Adele herself for the genuine person she is and I couldn’t be more proud of him for saying that she is beautiful and weight is just a number. We did something right with our boys, didn’t we? 🙂

Lastly, having fans brings a certain responsibility factor into play, especially when those fans are impressionable (young?) people; she should step up and make it known that she is not happy with her fans’ vitriolic attitudes and tell them to curtail their behavior because bullying is NEVER acceptable. This is her chance to make a difference, make a statement that will show graciousness and maturity towards others. That’s why I don’t think she’ll say shit—she is a big fake phony.

  64. dholmas says:

I am so sick of CACA. A copycat without an original idea in her little brain. Preaching tolerance and letting her idiotic so called fans bash other singers shows what a low life she is. She can go away NOW.

  65. kris31 says:

I love Adele! the fact that she doesn’t look like everyone else makes her even more beautiful & original! Her voice is amazing! And I never use that word for anyone or anything! Lady Gaga is an idiot that does crazy things for attention in order to make herself stand out from the rest of the people in the music industry.. Adele doesn’t need to .. she let’s her music speak for her!

  66. kieslwoski says:

    TEAM ADELE!!!!!!!!!!

  67. hatsumomo says:

I think its because Gaga’s new videos just suck. Period. There is no topping Bad Romance. She needs to realize this and get to work. The new stuff just sounds old.

It was on this site that I first heard of Adele. She’s amazing!

  71. LOVE ANGELINA says:

This thread is flooring me. How the hell are the actions by a bunch of trolls, because they certainly weren’t Lady Gaga fans, a reflection of Lady Gaga or her talent? Seriously just because you aren’t a fan of Lady Gaga’s antics doesn’t mean this was your change to attack her music and all that.

Seriously taking this opportunity to attack her character when Lady Gaga doesn’t do anything to any one and she really is very gracious with her fan base, to say that she some how caused some brain dead internet trolls to attack Adele. Thats just ridiculous thinking. Completely untrue.

Also these aren’t Grammy nominations. Its the VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS. This is for the video for the song. This has nothing to do with anything but the visuals of the video. Comparing how talented one is to the other is stupid. They don’t even sing the same genre of music…seriously.

  72. yadicakes says:

Adele has a beautiful voice and I really am liking her stuff. She isn’t coming up with gimmicks to sell her talent like other artist tend to do now a days

  73. I’m hearin’ ya Kaiser!! Adele is blarin’ in my truck,as I’m driving around in the sweltering heat with my windows rolled down.Aaah, summertime and back country roads, and redneckness..

  74. jdao says:

    I ♥ Adele!

  75. Violet says:

If Lady Gaga hasn’t asked her fans to stop attacking Adele, then she’s complicit in the nastiness. (It’s a variation of Jennifer Aniston attacking Brad and Angelina by condoning BFF Chelsea Handler’s racist jokes about their children. Both Lady Gaga and Jen prefer to let others do their dirty work for them, so they appear blameless.)

The issue is that Adele has raw talent and Lady Gaga doesn’t. Adele can go on stage without relying on weird outfits or pyrotechnics, and without ripping off other artist’s ideas (like Lady Gaga most recently did with Bette Midler’s mermaid in a wheelchair act).

  76. Kim says:

If Gaga had any class she would tell her fans making fun of Adeles weight is NOT cool. That is about as cool as making fun of gays!! Immature & classless.

  77. Love Angelina** You know after reading some of the comments that were directed at Adele,by supposed Lady Gaga fans,I’ve come to this conclusion: ALL the comments were made by one delusional troll, who now has finger blisters from attacking the keyboard with non-stop trolling passion.(Lady Gaga-You need to take control of that mess!)

  78. Blue says:

Is Gaga’s anti bullying and tolerance speak for everyone or only gays and people who act different? People make fun of fat people all the time and get away with it because no one defends us. They may think it’s wrong but won’t stand and say something or do anything. People just think that the overweight are disgusting slobs and should lock themselves away until they’re thin. Adele is an easy target because she’s big. What can you say to Katy Perry that would really hurt her. A lot of heavy people have self esteem issues due to their weight. Even thin girls who think they are fat. The easiest way to really hurt someone’s feeling who has body/self esteem issues is to make fun if their weight.

  79. Gail says:

My husband and I have completely different tastes in music, but we both absolutely love Adele.

  80. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Horsepoor This isn’t Lady Gaga’s problem. As evidenced by this thread I could easily say “hey Adele why don’t you tell your fans to grow up and get some perspective, tell them Lady Gaga isn’t responsible for this troll and there is no reason to attack her or her music, as a fellow artist you find it appalling it”, everyone has trolls (as evidenced by this thread Lady Gaga has them too) its not something that someone in the public is immune too.

Like I said this will blow over, its nothing Adele should be upset over and its not something Lady Gaga has to deal with. Why make a couple of morons feel important by responding to their mean spirited trash?

  81. kira says:

If those were my fans, I would tell them to go shove their tweets up theit tw*ts. 🙂

Gaga has made anti-bullying part of her cause, so I think she should respond. If she would say something like, “you are not my real fans, I don’t stand for that,” it would make it clear that she doesn’t tolerate that kind of BS.

  82. Truthful says:

uh, Katy Perry is the talentless joke–that’s who they should have reamed..

well really its not a good idea to do this to anyone, but Katy is a waste of space.

  83. Amanda G says:

When I listened to Howard Stern’s Gaga interview the other day he mentioned that her little monsters had been “bullying” and “threatening” him as well and she just chalked it up to them being very “protective” of her. Of course she can’t control their actions, but she also shouldn’t stick up for them either. She has literally created a “monster.” And BTW, I am a fan of both Lady Gaga and Adele. Both ladies are talented in their own ways.

  84. Kira** My point exactly!!

  85. mdf says:

What’s disturbing is attacking another artist for her weight to show support for a woman who supposedly abuses drugs and/or has had an eating disorder to stay thin.

On a side note, somewhere in the world RPatz and KStew are breathing a sigh of relief that they are not the only ones with bat-shit crazy psycho fans.

  86. forever amy says:

Adele have a voice amazin. She`s is a real singer. i love her music and sweet voice. 🙂

  87. poof says:

Adele’s numerous nominations speak for themselves. Lady cha cha needs to board her molecular egg and fly far far away.

  88. Annie_Grey says:

Lady Gaga says “don’t bully”, but her attitude is far from that. The woman is vulgar. Ask Jerry Seinfeld. lol

  89. bogie says:

Love Adele and Gaga can sinng honey, she shows it in her concerts also check her out on her last Oprah performance. Oprah who called her a phenomenan. You know it is possible to love more than one entertainer. Shocking …I know!

  90. Riana says:

    @Love Angelina

    “@Horsepoor This isn’t Lady Gaga’s problem.”

No, it isn’t…because she’s not the one being attacked. However considering she has made a large part of her public persona and some would say MARKETS anti-bullying and respecting others and gains wealth from it one would say she has a responsibility to venture a comment when it is being done by individuals in her name to another individual.

“As evidenced by this thread I could easily say “hey Adele why don’t you tell your fans to grow up”

Why grow up? Merely because people are genuinely offended she IS being insulted and attacked for her body? I think that being offended for another individual rather than ignoring it is a sign of maturity.

“and get some perspective, tell them Lady Gaga isn’t responsible for this troll and there is no reason to attack her or her music, as a fellow artist you find it appalling it”

So essentially you want her to be the one who apologizes for being attacked?

“everyone has trolls (as evidenced by this thread Lady Gaga has them too)”

I think you need to understand the difference between dislike (several examples in this thread) and trolling (spamming and insulting an individual on insignificant details in order to detract from them and wound them).

“its not something Lady Gaga has to deal with.”

No it is not, and many of us believe she will not deal with it. Because it is easier to preach/sing tolerance than actually put yourself at risk to be tolerant. Supporting gays is in vogue these days, there’s hardly any backlash associated with it but someone overweight? Why would Gaga slight her little monsters over a chubster?

“Why make a couple of morons feel important by responding to their mean spirited trash?”

Because by not responding you are silently supporting them, you are saying its okay to attack a fellow singer not because she is untalented or unprofessional but because she weighs more in which case to be frank your entire persona of a mother supporting the ostracized and attacked who feel like freaks by society…well that’s bullshit.

  91. Hibiscus says:

    – The first thing I ever saw of Gaga was pictures fo her walking in cold London with a bizarre half-naked costume.

Many years later I know a lot more about her but I think this first impression sums her entire act pretty much up.

    – Titi-mouse autotune Perry is too irrelavant to speak of.

    – Adele is a beautifulLy talented MUSICIAN.

That’s a rarity in a time where the “music”-business is filled with pin-up-posers and strippers.

  92. carolinna says:

there’s absolutely no reason for anyone to criticize somebody for their looks.. Adele is a beautiful person with an amazing voice.. she got all the nominations because she deserved them.. “little monsters” should learn some etiquette manners from mama gaga..

  93. Mr. Greek says:

Personally, I find this entire thing to be exceedingly childish. My God.

I have never been a user or a fan of “Twitter-Twatter”; I remember mentioning to friends at its inception that it would take immaturity, superficiality, and the sense of the inane to all new lows.

I’m gonna go play me some Billie Holiday CD’s.

  94. ADS says:

Rihanna (or her fans) have more of an axe to grind as she got zero nominations. She may not be everyone’s cup of tea but as a pop artist she should of been nominated amongst her peers as well. As for Gaga’s fans, we all know they are by and large a psychotic bunch of brain washed fools.
Back to Adele, the woman can do no wrong in my eyes. She’s such a cutie.

  95. Liamarie says:

Gaga should get back up on her anti-bullying bandwagon and tell her little monsters that their behavior is abhorrent.

  96. Shoe_Lover says:

I love Adele!!! she makes the most beautiful music, has a great personality, has great style and she is so stunning that its hard to look away from her. Gaga should be jealous as hell because Adele is the full package

  97. Callumna says:

I’m touched for the VMA’s are somewhat best known to be tacky and low brow — Britney stunts and Bootylicious Beyonce rather than soul singers. This is refreshing. Stylish substance rather than just a loud fad.

I’m so impressed to see such a queen so duly honored. This is a good day for music and celebrating such a glorious soul.

Of course I congratulate the artist.

  98. Crys says:

    Team Adele, hands down. -_-

  99. dr.bombay says:

    @skilo: my sentiments exactly!!

  100. Maddie says:

Wow. This really made me mad. Adele has more talent on her pinky finger? Watch gaga’s live performances, with just her and a piano. I adore adele, but saying what you said about gaga is just as bad as what people are saying about Adele. Fighting hate with hate is just plain hypocritical. And what gaga fans said about Adele should not be reflected on gaga. It has nothing to do with her. And these teams are ridiculous, they’re both extremely talented artists.

    • Derp says:

THANK YOU. seriously this is so ridiculous. Lady GaGa does have obnoxious fans, but so does every other celebrity. Everyone hating on GaGa here is doing the exact same thing as those little monsters. I am definitely a gaga fan, but I’m not abusing Adele or Katy perry and I think it’s incredibly shallow of adele fans to say what they’ve been saying.

  101. Flan says:

    I like both of them.

  102. filthycute says:

I have a creeping feeling that it won’t end well for Adele. Love her, but I feel it.

  103. Emily says:

This is disgusting. Gaga’s fans supposedly preach tolerance and accepting people for not their looks, but who they are. And now they go an pull shit like this? Extremely hypocritical. I hope Adele knows she has support in this. Team Adele!

  104. meadowlark says:

As far as the post, I’m not surprised. It takes a certain kind of person to think Lady Gaga is more (or even as) talented as Adele.

Ironically enough, these fans (kids, probably) are ridiculing Adele’s apearance when– in reality– Adele is far more pleasant to look at than Gaga’s tired performance.

Serisouly, how does Adele get her skin so perfect?

  105. Katija says:

I couldn’t give a flip that Gaga and Britney only got two noms each – boo freaking hoo. But it was totally Rihanna’s year, and her zero noms are APPALLING.

  106. MourningTheDeathofMusic says:

Typical – When there is absolutely nothing else to be mean about – go for the old standard of “she’s fat!” which in a moron’s mind equals she must be less of a person and of less worth because she doesn’t have the perfect figure.

She has talent. She has a successful career. She has the love of her family and friends.

And if that’s the worst they can say about Adele (how she’s fat), then I’m sure she’ll happily embrace it and say, “Why yes, I am fat, bitches! What’s it to ya?”

  107. the original bellaluna says:

@ Morticians – I tend to agree with you.
But I also see a problem in that Adele is still young, and this is coming on the heels of the rumour that she cancelled her American tour because of pressure to lose weight.

Feels like nastiness all around, except from Adele’s fans.

  108. Anonymouse says:

@LoveAngelina, it isn’t just one troll. MTV gave just a small sample of the many Monsters who have posted nasty things on Twitter about Adele. And it does look bad on Gaga even from a public relations persepctive; how poorly does it reflect on Gaga that her anti-bullying message is being lost on her fans?

By the way people, this isn’t the first, second or 46890th time Little Monsters have turned into vicious cyber bullies and Gaga has said NOTHING.

Katy Perry Tweeted a pic of herself planking under a bridge dressed as a mermaid and it was followed by a deluge of “u r copying Gaga!” comments and comments calling Katy names. Gaga fanatics are saying that one of Gaga’s ideas in the treatment for the “Edge of Glory” video was to feature her dressed as a mermaid under a bridge, but of course the planking part is not mentioned. How would Katy know what was in Gaga’s treatment? And must we remind these creatures that Gaga copied Bette Midler’s wheelchair mermaid character?

Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney joking called Gaga “Madonna” on his personal Twitter and the Little Monsters actually threatened his life and threatened to put him in a wheelchair for real.

Time and time again, Gaga has done nothing to redress the issue.

  109. Swanson Jacco says:

Gaga’s “monsters” are drones who can’t think for themselves. As if VMA nominations really matter. You can’t get by in a genre as fickle as pop by simply wearing plastic bags and meat hats forever; you eventually have to deliver the goods and stay relevant. Gaga’s time is nearly up.

  110. skeptical says:

    Has sanity taken a vacation?
Apples and oranges, Gaga and Adele.
They don’t even sing in the same genre.
    Jeez.
Gaga does have talent. She has a powerful set of pipes. Her live performances on Ellen were jaw-dropping. She projects, holds her pitch, she’s got talent too.
Adele also has a powerful voice, just a different timbre. Different qualities.
Why do women always have to be put in competition with each other?

And since when is Gaga a puppetmaster who can control her fans?
Fans are fans.. and celebrities should not be accountable for collective stupidity on the twitterverse.

  111. Emily says:

I think they’re both talented, but since they have such different music styles it’s stupid to compare them. But I do think Gaga needs to step up and tell her fans to STFU. Not to mention, as much as I like her, Gaga is not physically attractive at all.

  112. Anonymouse says:

@Skeptical, if you are talking about Gaga’s performance on Ellen where she performed Judas, there’s proof that she was lipsyncing through most of it. The reason I bring it up is because Gaga claims she never lipsyncs. Gaga does have a good voice (at least half of the time) but she is being dishonest about never lipsyncing.

  113. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Riana Give me a break. Lets be real about whats going on here. This was a chance for people who already don’t like Lady Gaga to throw more jabs at her. You and I both know that a celebrity can’t control the actions of their fans. Lady Gaga can’t make people dislike Adele and she can’t make people love Adele.

I love Adele and I love Lady Gaga, but seriously Lady Gaga has dealt with so much more hate her whole career because she says crazy things and dresses funny. I can genuinely understand if you don’t like her music but she has been called a tranny and a liar and all these terrible names for no reason. However its part of the business and Lady Gaga never cried over it.

Now a bunch of people name call Adele because they like Lady Gaga and this is like the worst that has ever happened to a female artist. Bullsh*t it is. We sit here all the time talking sh*t about people who we feel were robbed of something. Like that whole Natalie Portman and Annette Benning, people were such asses to Nat about that even though she clearly deserved to win. Should Nat Portman fans be peeved at Annette Benninng because her fans attacked Nat. NO! Thats not how it works. You can’t control the actions of others and people actually had the gull to say it on here like it can actually happen all because they dislike Lady Gaga. What a bunch of drivel!!!!

  114. michael bays comb over says:

    I co-sign everything Riana has said 😀

  115. StephanieMarie says:

Looks like her little monsters really are just that..Little monsters!
Attacking Adele for her weight is a disgustingly low blow…

Lady Gaga’s talk is nothing but empty rhetoric…

  116. BeckEye says:

Wow, so people are saying mean things about other people on the Internet?? What has the world come to?!

    A) I have a hard time understanding why anyone takes the VMAs, the Grammys or any of these awards shows seriously. A panel of random people say “THIS album/song/video” was the absolute best one that was created all year” and that’s gospel? Come on.

    B) I find it deliciously ironic that so many Adele supporters have used this comment space to voice their outrage over Gaga’s fans attacking Adele by attacking Gaga. Yeah, it would be cool if Gaga said something about her little monsters’ behavior, but they’re not her children. What, because she embraces her fans (isn’t that what performers are SUPPOSED to do?), she’s suddenly responsible for everything they say and do?? That’s ridiculous. And it isn’t ALL of her fans. As with any group, there are bad apples in the bunch. I really don’t think Gaga needs to make her fans sign and adhere to a code of conduct in order to retain their titles as “little monsters.”

    C) I love both Gaga and Adele. As some have already mentioned, they’re two completely different artists so there’s no use comparing them. But I really don’t see what all the uproar is over this. The fact is that people who are overweight will always be easy targets for ridicule. People who wear crazy clothes and do bizarre things will always be easy targets for ridicule. Celebrities in general will always be easy targets for ridicule. It happens. Does it matter if that ridicule is coming from fans of an artist you dislike or the guy down the street?

  117. VeneficA Delirium says:

I don’t listen to any of them, but Adele is a good singer.

Gaga? Well, I hear a lot about what an amazing talent she is, but upon being subjected to hearing and seeing her, I fail to notice any talent. All I notice is affected slurring, mass-produced digitized stammering, and yelling.

She writes her own songs? So what? I know that she panders to pop music because there is a lowered standard. She appears to lack the skill or depth to perform music that is truly unique, as she advertises herself. The contrived at best slights at Christianity and oversexualization has been done before, and better. She is a one-trick pony.

I tried giving her a chance, I really did, due to hearing positive feedback by members of the metal community, of which I am part…but apparently these are people who:

1.) Aren’t really fans of the extreme metal scene, since they’re so suckered into listening to an artist whose songs have been featured on the Bring It On soundtrack because of her image or,
2.) Are superficial enough to pretend enjoying her music because of her image.

Lady Gaga’s music is only useful for culling out the tools who criticized Metallica for going too mainstream, but her only purpose as an “artist” is selling herself.

Some try to excuse her persona as “satire”, but for what cause? For someone fighting against the machine, she’s the most corrupted by fame, wealth, and spectacle of them all. Over the past three years under the limelight, she has gotten become much less tolerable. This isn’t satire. The only moments when Gaga is actually funny are coincidental. It’s never on purpose.

For a comedienne, her “Little Monsters” sure take her seriously. I’ve never seen someone who’s taken being so totally not serious (!!!!!!!!!!!1!!) so seriously. This incident only proves this, and it proves just how shallow her fanbase are.

It must suck that Adele’s actually successful on merit. It must suck that the “right connections”, stripping and/or walking around with your bits hanging out, and simulating fellatio on a crucifix hasn’t won her awards.

Lady Gaga’s empowered me to do something I’ve never done before: Defend Madonna.

  118. trh says:

It’s like Ethernet vs. Token Ring all over again. The Ethernet trolls were all like, your cables are too thick and your connectors are fat. The Token Ring sycophants replied, eww, packet collisions… such an inferior topology!

Anyway we all know how that turned out.

    Sorry, wrong web site.

But seriously, Lady GaGa oozes talent and she’s a fabulous performer. She’s also an absurd, iconoclastic pop artist with a non-message. Meanwhile Adele is just pure awesomeness who could sing a block of concrete into a kitten by sheer breathy vibrato. Gotta run, my beaver enchilada is getting cold.

  119. Riana says:

“@Riana Give me a break. Lets be real about whats going on here. This was a chance for people who already don’t like Lady Gaga to throw more jabs at her.”

…like MTV that showered her in awards last year? Yes, they clearly don’t like Gaga. Or her fans who have spoken out to say they’re embarrassed by the ‘monster’s actions? Yes, they clearly hate someone they openly support.

“You and I both know that a celebrity can’t control the actions of their fans. Lady Gaga can’t make people dislike Adele and she can’t make people love Adele.”

She can however put her money where her mouth is (the money she made off the message of ‘Baby You Were BORN This Way’) and publicly state she does not support this bullying and she is not pleased by he actions of her fans who did choose to go against what she’s preached. Please don’t say she can’t make her fans love Adele, that’s hardly the point but most of us can’t ignore the hypocrisy of claiming you speak for and support those typically ignored and rejected by society and then become mum when attacks are being done in YOUR NAME.

“I love Adele and I love Lady Gaga, but seriously Lady Gaga has dealt with so much more hate her whole career because she says crazy things and dresses funny. I can genuinely understand if you don’t like her music but she has been called a tranny and a liar and all these terrible names for no reason. However its part of the business and Lady Gaga never cried over it.”

…well actually she did cry over it in her MTV special and said sometimes she still feels like a loser. So…yeah.

“Now a bunch of people name call Adele because they like Lady Gaga and this is like the worst that has ever happened to a female artist. Bullsh*t it is.”

Again…being rightfully offended doesn’t mean you’re spouting bullshit. Some people choose to feel badly and angered when another individual who is perfectly professional and has done nothing to earn the condemnation IS being insulted and mocked.

“You can’t control the actions of others and people actually had the gull to say it on here like it can actually happen all because they dislike Lady Gaga. What a bunch of drivel!!!!”

Dear…calm down. Gaga is the ‘Mother’ Monster who has spoken out against bullying and claims everyone should be treated equally. Whether you realize it or not unlike Natalie Portman this is a platform that makes her MONEY. She didn’t release’ Born This Way’ for free did she? No. She released it for money. Now she has an opportunity to actually apply the message she sold to millions for free to another individual PUBLICLY. To actually be a proactive representation of refuting bullying and supporting another person who is being attacked and SHE IS SAYING NOTHING.

Like others have said, this is not the first time, so to me that makes everything Gaga preaches…bullshit. She is being a hypocrite by being complacent. Perhaps you are content to pretend she is simply too helpless to possibly SAY ANYTHING (words would hardly kill her, especially when she can announce tour dates and such) but most people realize she could. But she won’t…because she wouldn’t risk her fan base and their many leafy dollars.

  120. matti says:

Rolling in the Deep was cool the first 50 times, now not so much. That never mind song ugh I turn off the radio when it comes on. Chasing pavements is a nice song. Gaga has a lot more songs I like, edge of glory is maaahvellous. Watch her do it on Stern wow he said it was one of the best ever.

  121. DethHammer says:

@VeneficA Delirium, Gaga only co-writes her songs. The only song she wrote all on her own on the Born This Way Album is “You and I”.

LOL, for a supposed “satirist” poking fun at the “machine”, Gaga certainly is a nice little cog profiting off all the gratuitous merchandise with her name on it – the Heartbeats headphones, licensed Halloween costumes, Haus of Gaga products with Polaroid, a fragrance to be released in 2012; hell, her song ‘Teeth’ is even featured on the new Discovery Channel’s Shark Week commercial and ‘The Edge of Glory’ plays in the Crazy Stupid Love movie commercial!

Gaga has built her entire franchise on her Little Monsters being an all-inclusive family, accepting with open arms and without prejudice. She says ad-nauseum how she herself was bullied and how she has contributed greatly to the anti-bullying message. How hard would it be for her to pop on Twitter and say “Come on Monsters, we’re better than that”?

  122. Karma says:

all the copycat backlash that gaga has been receiving is karma for what she let perez and her fans do to xtina last year. xtina announced her bionic album theme waaay in advance to gaga hitting it big. and with all the bullying and trying to ruin xtina’s career- gaga remained silent through it all.
how much you wanna bet that she keeps silent through this too? she defends her bullying fans (like she did on stern) because she like them to tear down her competition.
she is contrived and fake. she is all about exploiting the issues of the oppressed.
mark my words- she will keep silent on this….like always.
she was a fad and thank goodness her star is falling.
    hey gaga- copycat much?

  123. Angel says:

If Adele looks large in comparison to Gaga to Gaga’s fans, it’s because she is utterly dwarfed by Adele’s IMMENSE talent.

Team Adele. Gaga who. (&I am at real risk of forgetting other music exists, too.)

  124. VeneficA Delirium says:

LOL, Deth Hammer, I always knew she and/or her fans exaggerated her “songwriting” abilities, but the fact she only wrote one song on her album and everyone making it as though she writes all of her own material tickles me pink. You have no idea.

Haha, I saw the “Shark Week” commercial this week, and was wondering who that was grunting, trying to sound sexy. Of course Gaga knows all about trying too hard to be sexy. It makes a lot of sense now…and the fact that Edge of Glory song (all five minutes of her screeching) is played on the trailer for a romantic comedy/chick flick is a testament to how “edgy” she is (see: not at all).

I guess since being fat isn’t glamorous enough, Gaga won’t touch on that issue at all.

I’ve also been bullied in school. I find her interviews on the subject kind of inconsistent, first talking about how badly she was teased and then talking about how she always so promiscuous in high school… As someone who had been given hell throughout my school years, the outcasts like me never got to party. Wallflowers like me were too busy trying to not get harassed. We were lucky if someone chose us to dance with at homecoming, let alone sleep around, FFS.

She’s just full of it entirely. The more she speaks, the more she contradicts herself.

  125. DethHammer says:

@Karma, Gaga’s Xerox-ing ways are well-documented now. All you have to do is go on YouTube and search for “Gaga copycat” or “Gaga copies” and tons of videos show up.

Gaga remained silent when Katy Perry Tweeted a picture of herself dressed as a mermaid and Little Monsters flooded Perry’s Twitter with comments cursing her out and saying “u copied Gaga u b*tch” Then a few weeks later, Bette Midler kindly reminded everyone that Gaga ripped off her Delores Delago wheelchair mermaid character.

Gaga also remained silent when Monsters threatened to put Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney in a wheelchair for real and do him other sorts of bodily harm.

  126. VeneficA Delirium says:

CUE: BUT…BUT, SHE PLAYS HER OWN INSTRUMENTS! or BUT…SHE REALLY IS A GOOD SINGER!!!! HAVEN’T YOU HEARD HER ON ELLEN? (Which, I have, and still not impressed.)

The only clips I’ve ever seen her in, however, have been featured on The Soup…which is a sad statement when your talent, or “talent”, is overshadowed by your absurdity. Actually, if she had any talent at all, it wouldn’t be eclipsed by her image, but whatever, people like to believe she has more talent than she actually does because she’s made such an ass out of herself, it’d be a huge letdown if there wasn’t anything “special” about her.

I don’t know, when she kept her clothes on, nobody was buying. How come modesty, not stripping, not constantly flaunting how many sexual partners she’s had, or not sucking on the rosary worked for Adele and not Gaga?

Anyway, Gaga seems more concerned about marketing value more than intrinsic value, which is so not what true artists are really about. If her “art” meant half as much to her as she wants everyone to think it is, she wouldn’t be comfortably stooping to her level of knee jerk famehog.

  127. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Riana I am gonna bow out of this absolutely idiotic debate with just a few closing points that I kept repeating.

*Lady Gaga has no control over her fans, she doesn’t control their actions.

*Its not Lady Gaga’s job to issues statements about every negative thing done by her fans. I mean even in the Aniston/triangle thing I never expected or thought Aniston should say anythin to her fans to get them to stop certain actions. You don’t control what other people do. Other B&A fans thought she said say something…and I am like, its not her job to police her fans.

**Pay attention love these are excellent examples I am giving you.

*Comparing Adele and Lady Gaga…talent is waste of time. They are both talented women.

Just to end this, people turned this thread into an attack on Lady Gaga when she did nothing to anyone. Lady Gaga didn’t say one bad word about Adele.

So I gotta say the people in this tread who participated in unsolicited attacks against Lady Gaga are hypocrites. They turned around and pulled the same actions the losers who attacked Adele did. So they basically cancelled out whatever good intentions they had by trying to defend Adele.

  128. Anonymous says:

@VeneficA Delirium LMAO about the grunting! The Shark Week commercial came on again and I was in tears gasping for breath because I was laughing so hard!

Her bullying stories are very inconsistent. She comes from a wealthy background and went to the same exclusive high school as the Kennedys and Paris and Nicky Hilton. She said some older girls at school derogatorily called her “The Germ”, yet on her own senior yearbook page she listed her nickname as “the Germ” (her last name is Germanotta), a term of endearment that her friends called her. Also, she said those girls were trying out for the part of Adelaide in their HS drama club production of Guys and Dolls and Gaga got the part; so if those girls actually did call her “Germ” as an epithet, it was because they were jealous that they didn’t get the part, NOT because Gaga was some undesirable freak. People who went to school with Gaga said she was actually a semi-popular theatre kid who always had a small group of friends. A magazine interviewed one of her former classmates who knew Gaga pretty well and she said Gaga’s trashcan incident (Gaga had told MTV that a group of boys chucked her into a garbage can with a group of girls watching) never happened, so who knows how much is true.

  129. Riana says:

@LoveAngelina – bow out but the simple fact is you’re completely missing the point in order to defend Gaga.

    1. Lady Gaga doesn’t have to control her fans, she does however have to take responsibility for the message she claims to care so nlmuch about. Don’t feed the public bull on how much bullying offends you and then when you have an opportunity to prove this say nothing because the bullying is being done in your favor. In case you didn’t realize complacency is what encourages bullies.

    2. What you don’t understand is Aniston never claimed to have a higher moral ground. She did not sing a song about accepting others and NOT bullying, she did not give interviews on her own experience with bullying. Gaga chose to make this her personAl message, even if you prefer to ignore the hypocrisy others can’t.

    2.

  130. DethHammer says:

Oh oops I forgot to type in my name for the last comment I made! DUH!

  131. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Riana The Anti-bullying campaign applies to high school students not picking on each other and making fun of each other’s differences. This does not have anything to do with internet trolls. The internet is crawling with losers, Lady Gaga can’t fix that. All of Lady Gaga’s fans knows how she feels about bullying…however Adele isn’t even being bullied. Its not like she goes to work or school with any of these losers who called her names.

All celebs have to deal some kind of scrutiny or just plain old mean behavior…I am sorry but Adele is no different and if you read all the idiotic things on this thread Lady Gaga isn’t either.

  132. Riana says:

You’re splitting hairs. At no time did Gaga ever say her anti-bullying campaign was only in person for high school students. Furthermore to prove the point the majority of Gaga’s fans ARE HS students, odds being great it’s those same students mocking Adele. Are you logically trying to say she should discourage physical bullying but support online bullying?

Also for you to suggest Adele isn’t being bullied because no one is saying it to her face doesn’t integrate with any of the new information out on bullying. If Gaga isn’t well educated on how bullying takes place in 2011 perhaps she should have kept her mouth shut and focused on singing about other things.

Even if you choose to dismiss merely calling Adele fat as insignificant I’d like to believe you also wouldn’t support threatening to put a man in a wheelchair would you?

  133. jover says:

Thank you dethhammer and venenficadelirium – Lady xerox is one of the most corporate commercial products out, and she didn’t even wait long in her “career” to market herself by all available means – and yes, the endless gratuitous merchandising is laughable and offensive when you claim to be an “artiste” which is one reason why she assumes these airs – to deflect from how grubby and commercial she is – I didn’t know about the perfume (wow, how creative, never been done before!!!) How edgy and controversial is that? I think all this selling of gaggles is hedging by her handlers/label/management that she may not be around that long and this schtick will be milked for all it’s worth while they can.

  134. John Wayne Lives says:

God Adele is beautiful. A true talent.

  135. LOVE ANGELINA says:

@Riana What I am trying to tell you, is that this is not Lady Gaga’s problem or her fault. Why are you trying to make this her responsibility? Even if HS students did make the comments to Adele, its not Lady Gaga’s priority to deal with internet trolls. The fact that people are blaming Gaga for this blows my mind. Lady Gaga has never talked bad about a fellow artist, ever, she is always gracious even if someone says something negative in regards to her. So like I said, who ever made those comments aren’t true Lady Gaga fans.

  136. bior says:

ha yah adele iz more way talented than the other thing kaled ha gagah

  137. jsaiofas says:

It’s quite funny that all of these Adele fans are attacking Lady Gaga in ways that her little monsters attacked Adele. Don’t throw stones in glass houses.

Also seems like Adele fans are bringing Katy Perry into the mix, which is quite ironic.

  138. the original bellaluna says:

First of all, saying that the anti-bullying message is only applicable to high school students is like saying you only need to practise safe sex in high school. You’re supposed to teach LIFE LESSONS to children, so they APPLY THEM ALL THROUGHOUT LIFE. (Duh.)

Secondly, Gaga dresses the way she does and says the things she does SPECIFICALLY TO CREATE CONTROVERSY. No wonder her fans sound like they’re in high school. Some of them never should have graduated.

Lastly, I never attacked Gaga, nor will I. Do I find her irritating and ridiculous? Yes. That’s why I do not listen to her music or her interviews.

    *steps off the bitch box*

  139. MourningTheDeathofMusic says:

I think Rihanna has repeatedly made this point already:
Although it is not Lady Gaga’s fault nor her problem that her fan have chosen to make vicious statements about Adele (or several others), it DOES make Lady Gaga look like a big hypocrite to both preach and profit from a no bullying stance yet say nothing when it comes to her very own fans doing that very behavior she claims to admonish.

@the original bellaluna – thank you, exactly. The issue doesn’t start with, end with, or only pertain to high school bullying.

  140. VeneficA Delirium says:

How did I miss this little gem?

“I love Adele and I love Lady Gaga, but seriously Lady Gaga has dealt with so much more hate her whole career because she says crazy things and dresses funny. I can genuinely understand if you don’t like her music but she has been called a tranny and a liar and all these terrible names for no reason. However its part of the business and Lady Gaga never cried over it.”

As Riana pointed out, yes she did make herself into a victim and sobbed all over MTV about it. For someone who’s forged her career on soliciting a reaction from the general public, if not going out of her way to offend some people, she sure has a thin skin. What’s that saying “If you can’t dish it out, don’t take it”? She’s a little schoolyard agitator who gets butthurt about people not accepting her slights at their beliefs even though she thrives on controversy.

Thank you Anonymous and Jover for enjoying my posts.

For the record, this isn’t the first unpleasant experience I’ve shared or witnessed with her “Little Mosters”.

  141. DethHammer says:

@VeneficA Delirium, I found the article where Gaga’s HS friends said she was relatively popular and not bullied:
—She always landed the lead: Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Jealous older girls stuck in the chorus began calling her “the Germ.” Gaga has often mentioned that she was an outcast in high school, but other than adolescent shenanigans like these, her friends from this Pudding-like crowd do not share this recollection. “She was always popular,” says Julia Lindenthal, Marymount ’04. “I don’t remember her experiencing any social problems or awkwardness.”— http://nymag.com/arts/popmusic/features/65127/index2.html

  142. Riana says:

“@Riana What I am trying to tell you, is that this is not Lady Gaga’s problem or her fault.”

That is your opinion, not a fact, its been explained to you dozens of times but you prefer to believe when someone claims they hate something and holds out their hands for your money in support of this they hold no responsibility to actually commit to that message. You prefer instead that oaths and words have no real meaning and someone sings of equality but when its not beneficial to them they don’t give a crap.

“Why are you trying to make this her responsibility?”

    See above.

“Even if HS students did make the comments to Adele, its not Lady Gaga’s priority to deal with internet trolls.”

Nope…her priorities are making money off messages she doesn’t believe in exercising. Good to know she is as shallow and callous as the people she claims to have been bullied by in her past.

“The fact that people are blaming Gaga for this blows my mind. Lady Gaga has never talked bad about a fellow artist, ever, she is always gracious even if someone says something negative in regards to her. So like I said, who ever made those comments aren’t true Lady Gaga fans.”

Why does she need to say something negative when her fans do it for her? When her fans attack, threaten, insult and condemn any person who criticizes her why does she even need to bat an eyelash? Guess what? SOME of Gaga’s fans are as good as minions to the head mean girl. They do the head bitch’s dirty work so she can smile sweetly and pretend everything’s okay.

I am trying really hard to explain this to you rather than just dismiss it because its important. The way some of Gaga’s fans attack others isn’t insignificant, more and more large groups are becoming aware of it because it isn’t 1, 2, 10, or 20 fans. It’s HUNDREDS. MTV, Howard Stern, Various Blogs…more and more people are seeing a hypocrisy in a woman who sings a song about accepting others but when HUNDREDS of her fans are publicly and horribly attacking others to the point of threatening to put a man in a WHEELCHAIR has NOTHING TO SAY.

In your mind all Gaga’s job is to sing pretty songs and do nothing, but unfortunately Gaga chose to make herself a model for anti-bullying and become that voice and face for it. Whether you like it or not that does come with responsibility and she does need to live up to the responsibility. Instead she only seems to care when she can make a profit from it.

  143. Riana says:

THANK YOU to the people who understood what I’m saying. I used to be a Gaga fan but its things like this as well as the decline in music, over abundance of gimmick, lack of personality and selective ignorance and victim status which have really worn thing. I assume with time her younger monsters will outgrow her and her older monsters will see through her.

  144. Erin says:

Adele may be a little overweight by some people’s standards, but she is one of the most gorgeous singers I have ever seen. Her features are perfection. Not that any of that should matter with a voice like hers.

  145. Kara Ann says:

    Raina,

Thank you for your posts. Now I don’t have to say anything, you did it all!

  146. DethHammer says:

@Riana I used to be a Gaga fan too, from 2008-2009. However, when she called herself a “liberator” on Fuse and thought using blood onstage was unique and “revolutionary” (geez for someone who claims to love metal so much, she must not have seen an Alice Cooper or Ozzy live performance), I immediately smelled the BS and thought “she’s succumbed to her own hype”

She didn’t even know the work and aesthetic of her supposed lifelong “idol” Andy Warhol until late 2007, barely 4 years ago, and by 2007 she already had a 360 deal with Interscope.

  147. Riana says:

@DethHammer- yeah I’m afraid fame went straight to Miss. Gaga’s head and…okay not to offend anyone but she’s interesting for the uneducated (I do NOT mean stupid at all), if all you’ve been exposed to is Btotney Spears (good trashy bubble gum pop) then Gaga really does seem like an introduction into ‘culture’ but if you’re even semi well versed on Madonna, David Bowie, Bette Midler, and all the others who’s trademarks she’s yanked to pad her own lack of creativity you get sick of her real quick. I miss the slightly quirky but still good fun Gaga of Just Dancd and Poker Face.

In a way I suppose she’s a genius at the business machine she claims to hate. She was smart enough to do a genre of music where the majority wont be well educated on other genres so she can steal at will, shes chosen figures somewhat out of the public eye to copy so she gets away with it and her young fans think she’s the innovator, and the costilumes do a good job of distracting from her music which is just horrid now.

Still Gaga will be rewarded ( at least for a while) because she’s built up a mythology of her being some great caring Mother Monster refutting social norms and doing what has NEVER been done in music (cue the laughter) and the uneducated eat it up. The good news is little by little she is slipping off her pedestal and cracks in the Gaga Machine are showing.

(Whoo it was good to get that off my chest)

  148. m1hoffman says:

It sickens me that my fellow little monsters are doing this–but honestly, everyone else is acting no better than they are. I adore Gaga, but I also adore Adele, and I know both of them would be ashamed of how everyone is acting. Seriously people. Don’t let the cycle of hatred continue.

  149. Katie says:

I am sooo happy all of you feel the same way. Gaga and Katy Perry are so not even close to Adele’s level. At all. Adele made a slightly annoying Cure song into a powerful love ballad just with her amazing voice. Not to mention, she is unbelievably beautiful in a way that makes you wanna stare at her. Gaga and Perry have nothing on her in the looks department. Who cares if she’s overweight? She’s an amazing singer and drop-dead gorgeous, no matter what size she is.

  150. K says:

I happen to like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele, in fact, I am listening to a Lady Gaga album on spotify right now. I don’t think she is responsible for what some of her fans say. I read somewhere that she really like Adele’s music. If I had to pick one of the three it would be Adele, her voice is just pure and beautiful. As far as her weight, as a man that likes women with curves, I think her looks are equal to her voice in beauty.

    K.

  151. Karmen says:

ok i’am not really a fan of either
    but
here’s the problem i have with adele
first of all her style of music is very dated (and when i say dated i don’t mean like 90’s i mean like 30’s/40’s)
secondly all her songs sound EXACTLY the same (and YES i guess gaga is guilty of that too)
her fans act like she’s god or something and anyone who isn’t adele is in their words “not talented” BS
And i’m sorry to offend anyone but her quite frankly voice is not ….that great and is actually quite annoying there i said it.

  152. Jo says:

Yeah. I prefer Gaga. She can sing, have you heard her live? Let’s all stop hating on Gaga please.

This, however, doesn’t mean I don’t like Adele. I do. They are BOTH very talented ladies.

Just stop the hate. They’re both good. You don’t need to hate on one to make a point.

  153. Anne Pat says:

Lady Gaga is a beautiful human being. So a few people who call themselves monsters have gone crazy and mean. Look at what all of you people are doing right now! What the f–k is your problem, how can you sit there and say all of us and Gaga are crazy. We are people. No one is better or worse. Lady Gaga is proof of that.

  154. airisyvelyn says:

    Uh, what the hell?
Why are there even “Teams” in the first place? If you were comparing Jacob and Edward than okay, Team whoever you like better. This is comparing two completely different styles of music and two completely different people who have DIFFERENT opinions on music.

As fans, shouldn’t we (mostly you, I’m not on any team) stop encouraging these ‘teams’ or anything that would trigger conflict? This article was supposedly about Gaga fans going crazy and now there’s some Team Adele claiming that Adele’s music is ‘better’ than Gaga’s? Er, can we just stop the hate?

Both types of music are different and should be appreciated differently. Both singers are talented, don’t even think about denying that, especially with Lady Gaga. If Lady Gaga wasn’t talented she wouldn’t still be here. And even if you dislike her music styles, that’s fine– but you have to admit, she’s clever with her career in that she knows how to build and establish her name. If you think she lacks talent in music, she definitely doesn’t in business.

Screw the teams. I don’t think Adele would be happy knowing there’s a Team Adele. Just saying, that’s just stupid in my opinion. This is gonna blow over.

  155. Cute Bobby says:

I don’t know why it has to be “Team Gaga” or “Team Adele”, and why people are hating on anyone in the first place. It’s all very immature and off putting.

Truth be told, I enjoy both Gaga and Adele – I’ve seen them both live, Gaga twice and Adele for the first time just a couple weeks ago at the Greek in LA. Both are amazing artists and true talents, and I’m happy to have them both doing what they’re doing. But it’s apples and oranges, people.

Think about it – Gaga is a performance artist. Her shows are a mix of a music, theater, “shock” – i guess – and catchy pop music. She sings live and gets creative with it, for sure. I’d see her again, and I honestly can’t wait to see what she does next. Adele, on the other hand, is a SINGER. Gaga sings pretty well, yeah, but Adele is a singer. True, raw, & real talent – no gimmicks or costumes or crazy productions (which I LOVE, by the way, and is probably also why she has such a huge gay following). Adele, by the way, is also hilarious. She talked for a little bit between each song and was so charming and FUNNY and truly a legend in the making. I don’t know if Gaga will be a legend – she probably will be – but it will be in a different vein than Adele.

And that’s ok. Appreciate them both for who they are and what they’re doing with their careers and the art they’re sharing with you. Being catty and immature and hateful doesn’t help anyone.

For the record, I am not a Katy Perry fan. And I’m gay, too. And yes, I’m pretty cute.

  156. Donthateonadele says:

I love Lady Gaga im a huge fan, but c’mon its obvious that Adele has much more pure talent, she opens her mouth and this beautiful voice come out of her without even strugglin!, so if u called your selves lil monster are not representing what Gaga is trying to preach, that we need to love each other, and accept each other for who we are, not for ur apperience or sexual orientation, because she suffer from that, she was bullied from her peers, and now ur guys are doing that to Adele. U DO NOT DESERVE TO BE LIL MONTERS IF U ARE BULLIES!

  157. Imani says:

TEAM GAGA Gaga has way, way, way more talent than anyone else in the history of music, no questions asked.

  158. Bobby says:

    TEAM ADELE!

  159. nicki minaj barbie says:

adele is the prettiest singer i know so if yal`s want to hate or diss on her u can rot in hell. k.

  160. Bahaha says:

And now Adele has to cancel her tour because she didn’t take care of her voice! Hahaha how’s that for “her little pinky”
Ps I absolutely love Adele but don’t pretend gaga has no talent because that sounds so ignorant. You can’t compare a vocalist/entertainer to a vocalist like Adele. They’re completely different. It’s like saying brits studio voice is better than gagas- gaga doesn’t lipsing. Sorry end rant.

  161. You actually make it appear so easy together with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be really something which I think I might by no means understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am having a look forward in your next submit, I?ll attempt to get the dangle of it!

  162. hi there lady gaga my durta you are my durta i love your mother is me monster a

  163. hi there lady gaga my durta you are my durta i love your mother is me monster a

  164. steven says:

Lady gaga is not only talented but also an inspiration. she is a fashion icon and a pure performance ARTIST. she would never cancel a show for ANY reason. all adele does is bitch about her ex boyfriend. that good voice has no use for someone like her.

  165. chris says:

It really saddens me to hear so many harsh feelings about “little monsters”. It is absolutely not acceptable for a true monster to ever diss or make fun of any other artist or any person. I assure you that the majority of monsters understand and live the life that gaga preaches/sings about. Their is a difference between a gaga fan and a monster, and sadly some fans consider themselves monsters but their nothing more than false prophets. Adele is a beautiful, amazingly talent vocalist and deserves every award/nomination given to her. It sickens me to think that other monsters are participating in bullying. They must not understand what gaga is truly about. I do however hope that in the future that most of you that commented on this article can believe and see that there are good monsters and a few bad apples shouldnt ruin the whole batch!!

  166. Aly_NK says:

I never liked Gaga, her flashy, over-the-top clothes turned the whole media upside down. She’s says that she’s expressing her uniqueness but practically every single celebrity is dressing like her nowadays (e.g rihanna, nicki minaj, katy perry). It’s not unique, it’s attention seeking and annoying. Now people are thinking celebrities (like Leona Lewis or Adele) that DON’T wear those kinds of things are boring, which I find extremely irritating because they are NOT boring, they are EXTREMELY talented and would rather focus on the music than showing off for the magazines and papparazzi.

    Also,
I have no idea how ANYBODY can compare Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to Adele. NOBODY can compare to Adele, least of all them. They can’t even SING. I guess they’re more performing artists than actually singers but still, Adele is all pure talent and Gaga is a complete mess.

I can’t believe people are calling Adele fat. Yeah, she’s overweight but that doesn’t matter she’s a SINGER not a model. And anyway, I’d much rather Adele’s curvy, voluptuous figure than Gaga’s skin and bones.

ANYWAY, I’m team Adele. Screw Gaga and all those other pretentious celebrities.

  167. sum1 says:

I hate it when haters like some people on this site pick on GaGa because of her fan’s doings. Although Gaga DOES remind me alot of Madonna, she does have talent, that’s something haters will hate to admit. It may not be greater than Adele’s, I honestly think both of their talents are equal. Adele sings better than Gaga, no doubt. However, Gaga can sing, dance, and play piano, keyboard, synthesizers, AND guitar (believe it or not, search it on youtube). Second, Adele only sing songs about love, but Lady Gaga sing about being who you are, religious stuff (Black Jesus), living life to the fullest (Marry the Night), AND love. You can tell Gaga doesn’t just create songs for money, but to send messages around the world. Don’t believe in the Illuminati crap, almost every artist in the world (even Adele yes) is being linked to the Illuminati. I am not saying I like Gaga better, but people really need to stop hating on Gaga. Even if she wears weird costumes, I guess it’s ok. She thinks weird, but she WAS born that way and people need to stop hating on her for that reason.

  168. Jim says:

    Adelle = raw talent
    Gaga = talent + drive + technique

Just a quick thing Id like to say : its practically impossible to be original these days. Gaga was obviously influenced by madonna and others. And adelle is not any different from any other singer in her genre. Theyre both very talented and both beautiful. But im a little monster sooo ….
    Gaga > Adelle

  169. Nichole says:

Gosh, I hate to know that other so called “little monsters” did that. I’m a huge fan of both and I’m glad Adele got nominated..who cares if it was more than Lady Gaga. I have the same reaction when either of them come on the radio while I’m in the car or doing stuff around the house and have music blasting..I sing every word and dance around, even if I can’t hold a note! lol They are amazing..each in their own ways and I adore both. I actually would love to hear them do something together because they both have really good natural, and raw voices..it would be interesting to hear them together. (I don’t understand why people believe Lady Gaga can’t sing just because she enjoys using autotune. Her music, to me, is good regardless..but when she strips down her songs with just her and the Piano I get chills just like I do when I listen to Adele.

  170. lobstery7 says:

Guys hating on Lady GaGa…don’t you realize you are no better then the poser Monsters that attacked Adele? Adele is extremely talented. So is GaGa. Both should be praised and niether is a better singer then the other because that boils down to opinions.

Why is everyone against the Little Monsters? I am a Little Monster. The majority of us are very kind and accepting people who respect others opinions, but everyone seems to get the wrong idea based on what a few of us do. The real Little Monsters follow GaGa’s example and are kind and against prejudice. The posers go around hating on Justin Katy and Rihanna whenever they just happen to get an award over Mother Monster or something. The truth is we are being judged and being called a viscious fan base because of what a few people do and it isn’t fair. Every fan base has its share of people that hate on other artists to boost up the artist that they like, but since the Little Monsters are the biggest fan base, it just tends to have more of those people then the other fan bases.

All calling Lady GaGa talentless need to stop. You will see what I mean if you look up GaGa performing Speechless live. Even if you don’t like it, you have to admit that she is just as talented of a singer as Adele.

  171. Christopher Gonzalez Ruiz says:

    I just love them both

they are so talented in their own ways
i love to hear adele before sleep
and i love to hear gaga and i like her piano playing.

both are gifted women that should be singing not fighting

  172. lady gaga is the shit. says:

Personally, I am not a fan of Adele at allllllll. Her voice is uber annoying. Also, she didn’t even write any of those songs. So her and her “talent” can suck on my Dick. Why the fuck does she sound like a black girl? Ew. I also find it pretty funny that thy were calling her fat. I mean, it is true. I think she should’ve just stayed in the UK cause, every time I hear her in the radio, I want to punch a baby obtuse face. Hard.

I don’t understand all the Gaga hate.It is absolutely hypocritical for Adele fans to defend Adele when it comes to her weight but then mock Gaga b/c of the way she dresses. That is equally shallow b/c you are judging that person by the way they look. And just for the record,Adele is NOT the only person that has been criticized of their weight.People have been saying negative things about Jessica Simpson,Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera for years.

  174. cristina says:

I just want to said why , why this lady atack lady gaga” when the said wasnt her” was her fans.. but the way i love adele ..but i think she is a public person so she eill looks good if she loose some weight

I think that this is really sad :(. My
3 biggest idols in the whole world who i love so much are, adele, lady gaga and jessie j, i love them too absolute pieces and listen to their albums all the tiiimmee. I just find this really upsetting, to see one of my idols getting picked on by the little monsters, especcially cuz i am a little monster!!!! Also i no though that the people that wrote those horrible things , well, are they really little monsters?? really? Lady gaga is an amazing person who dedicates her music to get the point across that everyone is beautiful and bullying is wrong!!!!! Comments like that hurt , im 14 an i had to leave my old school cuz it happened to me. People can be cruel, if your a real lil monster then please listen to LG’s music propperly and appreciate the lyrics….. :(. p.s i hope this didnt offend anyone, if it did im sorry.

  179. Joel says:

I find it disgusting, and I love both artists, however I disagree with one of your claims. First off talent is a subjective judgement, and you saying that Lady Gaga has decidedly less measurable talent is simply an unprovable statement due to the concept of talent being pure opinion. Furthermore, I don’t think Adele matters more simply because she’s more talented (I do agree on the claim that she has more talent, based on personal opinion however.)

Lady Gaga’s roles in political activism, particularly in anti-bullying and LGBT equality make her a significant public figure for change and equality. For young and confused teens, especially those struggling with their sexuality and possibly the bullying that may accompany it, Lady Gaga is iconic and may very well save their lives just through her strong message of self acceptance. Born this way and Hair are both iconic tracks, and while I love Adele and think she’s probably one of the most talented active artists right now, I do not agree with any sort of claim saying she is more important than Lady Gaga, because truthfully they are both iconic, simply for different things.

  180. amy says:

i cant believe it! i am crazy about gaga and i am a fan of adele but how can people do that to her! lady gaga says she loves adele and shes really talented but how can her “little monsters” say that to her! there not real little monsters! there little satans! but believe me all the rest of the little monsters would be proud of her and good look to her.

  181. Danielle says:

I dont like writers who favor one side. In my opinion a writer should stay neutral when writing about a topic comparing 2 things. You can just say Adele has way more talent then Lady Gaga because your “Team Adele” I dont care for Adele but she really does have raw talent, as well as Lady Gaga. Both are YOUNG AND TALENTED (this is coming from a “little monster”

  182. Luana says:

Sorry but these people who wrote these comments about Adele aren’t real little monsters. You can see that Gaga truly love the REAL LITTLE MONSTER, those who can underestand her ideas and not those people who claim themselves as “Little monsters” and make those comments.

I am a LM and I lik Adele’s songs very much, I think she’s very very talented.

Don’t think that all LMs are stupid or rude just because 1 or 2 are stupid.

And you can see that Gaga really likes Adele, make such nice comments about her songs and talent!

So people, please, don’t blame her or her truly fans just because some of them are stupid assholes

  183. Vivian says:

As a fan of Gaga, and a new listener of Adele’s music, both are musically talented. Leaving all the opinions to the side… Gaga does in fact have more substance in her music than Adele. Do not argue this, if you truly understand Gaga’s music it has a wide variety of depth of meaning. Not bashing Adele what so ever, but she cannot be compared to Gaga’s music.

    • Weck says:

“Wide variety of depth of meaning?” Wtf?

There is nothing that is more profound, unique or in any way great about Gaga’s songs compared to Adele’s (yes, Gaga’s contain more production layers, but that has nothing to do with “depth of meaning”).

If you want to argue persona and cultural significance, then okay. But Gaga’s music is not “deeper”, please.

  184. Annie says:

These ‘little monsters’ of Lady Gaga’s can’t really be taking much notice of her songs. Gaga’s so anti-bullying, and her little monsters litteraly just went against exactly what Gaga’s trying to stop. It’s ridiculous that Gaga’s fans are having a dig at Adele, just because she won the best music video and Adele didn’t. Adele is beautiful, regardless of her size..

  185. Cory says:

Now i dont really care for either Lady Gaga or Adele..but i just had to leave my piece here. Why do fans of one singer have to hate the other group? Im sure this has been mentioned through out this thread but still. Like who you like. Insulting the other singer or fans of said singer doesnt make your choice better. Just relax and enjoy the music.

  186. Gem says:

No doubt GaGa fans went over the top making nasty comments about Adele’s weight but I have to agree with them that GaGa is better than Adele. Adele’s music generally sounds like something they would give to the X Factor contestants as their winner’s song. GaGa’s songs are overproduced but are essentially good, catchy pop songs. E.g. “You and I”, heard this song first as a live performance, just accompanied by a piano. Thought it sounded like something Elton John would release. When the song becomes a single it has some dodgy country sound and the “We Will Rock You” hand claps which just don’t suit the song. Also absolutely love the acoustic version of Poker Face. Adele and Lady GaGa both have good voices. People just like to diss GaGa because she has a commercial sound.

  187. Chat says:

I am a little monster too and I like every song in both Adele’s albums. And Why are the little monsters calling Adele “Fat&Ugly”?
I thought Lady gaga wants us to not bully and say those nasty things to the others. Both of them are talented music artists who deserve everything they are doing now.Open your mind a little and you’ll know there is a place for all talented artists in the music industrt!

  192. Brianna says:

Doesn’t surprise me. (Certain) Little Monsters (what a fitting name) are some of the most obsessive rapid hateful bullies I’ve come across and they mirror the exact opposite of Lady Gaga’s anti bullying message. I don’t care much for Gaga – I’d be lying if I said she wasn’t talented, I think she has a great talent, however the production she puts on is pretentious and over the top. She gets even more ridiculous and attention seeking as time goes on. What I love about Adele is that she doesn’t need all the gimmick like all her other female counterparts to take over the game. It’s refreshing for a mainstream female artist of this generation to be herself, 100% real, and comfortable in her own skin. I was so proud of her when she slayed at the 2012 Grammys; not just because she deserved it but it was a perfect representation that LESS is MORE. The rest need to take notes. Gimmick can only get you so far before you fade.

  193. littlemonster says:

all of you are arguing for what we all know lady gaga is the best point blank period

  194. littlemonster says:

all of you that saying she does to much at least she does do something unlike adele she just sits her big fat ass on the chair and sing most of the time other times she stands in one particular spot she might break the stage in if she moves to much im suprised her fat ass aint broke no chair yet

    • Daydreamer says:

because thats called TALENT. Adele doesnt need to dance around to be able to keep her fans.

  195. littlemonster says:

and everyone know adele take her and her heavy weight backstage and eats gaga’s nominations im so glad she didnt eat gaga when she was wearing that meat dress! as for katy perry bitch you suck at singing and probably balls if it wasnt for auto tune there would be no katy perry so katy get over your no talented ass

  196. gillylovesgaga says:

i just read most of these comments and its so funny because littlemonster is oh so true and kassie k williams you both just made my day im not gonna sit here and talk about adele but i do think of doing it but i will listen to my mother monster and obey what she says i love you mommy

  197. gillylovesgaga says:

i just had to say something gaga you have more talent on a string of your eyelash than the auto-tune using perry and the big british mess

  198. Margie says:

GOSH PEOPLE!! Can’t we just say that they are both talented in their own ways?? I don’t everything that Gaga does but same goes for Adele. If you don’t like them, then don’t listen to them. It’s not that big of a deal so no need to get your panties in a twist.
Now, please carry on with your lives and stop hatin’ on people.

  199. Daydreamer says:

Haha i love how in the end it says Team Adele bitches. haha hell yeah. i didnt really like that, little monsters cant accept there are way better artists than gaga. Love you adele!<3 & to me gaga is just plain weird. she scares me..

  200. Jake says:

You’re delirious if you think Adele is more “talented” than Gaga. You’d be correct to say Adele is a great vocalist, and a great songwriter, but Gaga has the natural, raw talent and creativity that so many pop stars today lack (Katy, Rihanna, Ke$ha, ETC. Gaga is a musical genius and to slam her with petty comments about her talent when you are “commenting” on backlash at Adele’s weight, proves you are just as childish as the rest. What a shame.
