I’m calling it: Paz de la Huerta looked good last night, at the premiere of Season 2 of Boardwalk Empire. Once again, she looked good – FOR HER. In the scope of Paz’s red carpet appearances, this was one of her best showings ever. Yes, she looks deflated and like she’s coming down off of something major. Sure, her makeup is typically trainwreck, and I think she forgot to apply lipstick after she carefully outlined her lips. But she wasn’t spilling out of her dress. Her dress fit, and it actually flattered her figure. She wasn’t a drunken mess. She wasn’t falling all over the place. So: WIN. For Paz. She’s set the bar so low, this is one of her best appearances ever. Maybe this is the New Paz – the one who is a serious actress and artist. Probably not.
Okay, the lip liner thing bugs. Did she do that on purpose, or did she just forget about applying lipstick?

Paz has got a little chola thing going on, but I agree this is one of her best appearances. As for Michael Pitt, I know he is one of those affected hipster types, but come on, you put on a decent suit and screw up the shoes. Fail on you sir.

I always wonder if she deliberately makes herself look unattractive. Remember how Jared Leto seemed really embarassed at how pretty he was, and would make himself look really, really dingy? I get the same vibes off her.
But yeah, I like this. The dress is lovely and, frankly, my standards are so low that I can overlook the lipliner.

She is amazing and her beauty really comes out as a brunette. She looks like the girl next door when she has lighter hair like her mother.

@Liz You may be spot on. But I think she also does it to distinguish herself; after all, there are plenty of flawlessly pretty young actresses out there. I only know her because of her hot mess-ness, so that about says it all.

Seeing red carpet pics of Paz makes me think her character wasn’t that much of a stretch for her.
I will forgive Michael Pitt’s puckered pouty face only because his character on the show is so good….but really I don’t want to know anything about him outside of that because then I’d probably not like his character

ladies, this is a 1992 chola look ok i have the pics to prove i used to do that to my lips back then but you know what i had teased bangs to match and i was SO glad to see that look behind me. nude lips and cocoa lipliner. not blended. it looks like what your young daughter would put together after just getting into your makeup.

As for the way she dresses in general, well, this is her – this is her personality. I don’t think she needs to change her personality or the way she dresses just because she is a celebrity. I like seeing women that don’t do the cookie-cutter, “what’s hot now” thing with their wardrobe and make-up, especially when they are in the public eye.
