Angelina Jolie “got lost” on Amazon.com, likes to shop with catalogs

It’s so sad, Angelina Week is over. Boo! Now we just have to content ourselves all of the photos from last week, plus tons of interviews which are still being released. On Friday, Angelina’s longish USA Today interview came out, and I didn’t get a chance to read it until the weekend. You can read the full thing here – she talks a lot about In the Land of Blood and Honey, of course, but she also throws in some personal details. Remember how In Touch Weekly’s sources claimed that Angelina was seriously addicted… to online shopping? Well, Angelina claims that she can’t even figure out Amazon. AMAZON! One of the easiest sites to navigate, honestly.

Angelina Jolie isn’t the wild child she once was — and she’s OK with that. Describing her younger self as “experimental, bold and a bit nutty,” the now 36-year-old actress tells USA Today she was “absolutely self-destructive” early in her career.

“I think a lot of young people in this business lose their way. You don’t know what is of value. You don’t know where you are. And you know something’s wrong, because it isn’t life as it actually is,” Jolie explains. “It’s like living in some warped reality.”

The actress — who shares six children with partner of six years Brad Pitt, 47 — finally settled down “once I started to learn about the world and I became grateful for everything that I certainly have. Since going through my first war zone, never have I woken up and not been simply grateful.”

Once she adopted son Maddox in 2002, the In the Land of Blood and Honey director realized there was no going back. “I knew once I committed to Maddox, I would never be self-destructive again,” Jolie says. “Now I have five more [kids], so I have to behave.”

Given her multiple responsibilities as a mother, lover, actress, director and U.N. ambassador, Jolie has learned how to multitask over the years. “I always Christmas shop early in case we have to travel somewhere,” she says.

“Brad and I were on Amazon.com for the first time a week ago. But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off,” she tells USA Today. “My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions. I’ll stick to catalogs.”

[From Us Weekly]

“But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off…” Because Angelina Jolie is now your mom who asks you “What’s up with all of this Facebooking?” Except that even my mother can navigate Amazon! So… Angelina and Brad just aren’t good at technical stuff? Angelina has claimed that before, so I guess I’ll believe her, but I thought more of Brad’s skills. Turns out he sucks at technical stuff too.

Oh, and what catalogs are they ordering from? I want to know! I used to work the phones at a catalog company, and I would be floored if Angelina was actually calling up and giving item numbers and checking on availability. What if you were the one who had to tell Angelina that you no longer had the Empress’s hoodie in pink?

In Touch Weekly is the reputable source for all my news.
Angelina is the antithesis of materialistic. They are wrong again.

  2. Maya says:

She looks so gorgeous in those pictures. And how exactly does one get lost on Amazon.com?

    • Emma says:

Oh I have SO been there, done that! (Blush) 🙂 All it takes is to click on an item, then click on an item in the ‘May we Suggest’ scroll bar on the page, then click on an item in the scroll bar of ‘that’ page … pretty soon, I’ve lost my way back to the original item I was interested in to begin with. And I’m no novice to Amazon, either. I’ve shopped there so much, I get those wonderful email discount offers from them all the time.

  3. ladybert62 says:

I really like that dress and much as it pains me to say so, it looks good on her. ha ha

    • Firecracker says:

Hi Ladybert, that’s what I was going to say! That dress is beautiful on her. Best I’ve seen of her all year.

  4. Confused, too says:

Amazon USED to be simple, but the toy stuff in particular is messy (which equals time-consuming). Also, there are more & more sort categories, which makes you feel like you miss something (you do- probably intentional push marketing). I had to open about 20 tabs to shop for 2 kids- ugh- things kept being unavailable, etc. I still prefer online shopping, but I make sure I have time & patience before doing it. Brad & Angie look adorable!

  5. ShanKat says:

I have no use for people who have no use for the internet. It makes her sound like an idiot.

    • Erandyn says:

      Word.

    • constance says:

      agreed.

    • DeeVine says:

Agreed…and honestly none of their stuff look like they were bought from any catalogue. All looks very high end to me. I think she wants us to think “we are just like everyone else” while evidently they are not.

Or they are shopping for catalogue gifts for their many “friends”.

  6. olivia says:

“My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions.”

But I was able to write a complex script set during the Bosnian war while sick the flu in two days. Honest!

    • norma says:

took the words clean out of my mouth.

    • Kobi says:

      @olivia
      LOL
The Loons are going to tar and feather you for that comment.

    • Isa says:

i think when you don’t have much interest in something your mind wanders. Which isn’t exactly what was said, but I feel this way sometimes.

I think it’s why people refer to themselves as having ADD when they clearyly don’t when something they enjoy hold their attention.

      • telesma says:

Just so you know, ADD is not an inability to focus. It’s an inconsistent ability to focus due to defecits in executive brain function (memory, attention, organization, awareness of time, etc).

Sometimes there’s difficulty concentrating at all, and other times there is what’s called hyperfocus, which can be almost as big a problem because other things that could be important fall by the wayside while they can’t tear their attention away from something inconsequential. The level of interest and the level of stimulation provided by the activity matter a lot. A high-stim activity will get them hyperfocused, and a low-stim one will be beyond their ability. And there is a list of other characteristics to go along with the actual attention deficit, like disorganization, chronic tardiness, forgetfulness, etc. – ability to pay attention is not the sole criteria for the diagnosis.

One of the things they have trouble with is people not understanding the nature of the disorder and assuming that because they can do one thing, they should be able to do another. It doesn’t work that way. So you might want to be careful about making assumptions about people who “say they have ADD when they ‘clearly’ don’t”, because that diagnosis isn’t something that is necessarily clear to a lay person at all.

  7. Wildone says:

My aunt is the same way with computers, hell she can’t even figure out how to use the calculator on her cell phone.

  8. Cherry says:

I have to say that I believe this to be a pose. I know lots of people who pretend not to ‘get’ all sorts of gadgets such as i-phones, whatsapp and twitter, just to appear intellectual and ‘above it’. Jolie is a smart, adult woman who travels all over the world, runs a family of 6 and wants us to believe she’s unable to use a simple website? Cute, but probably not true.

  9. melanie says:

Of course she is not technical…thats what assistants are for…just another example of the disconnect between celebrities and the general public. She looks gorgeous though!

  10. Erandyn says:

My jury used to be out on her intellect, but now… how can someone be over 6 and under 60 and not know how to use basic technology? Do the buttons in elevators confuse them, too?

    • Esmom says:

Lol! I’m just imagining them puzzling over the elevator buttons and Brad finally pushing all of them a la Buddy the Elf!

  11. NM9005 says:

Isn’t Pitt good at architecture (or interested) or something like that? That is 1000 times harder than just clicking throughg Amazon if you ask me.

    Google is your friend:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/2066592/Brad-Pitt-turns-architect-and-designs-Dubai-hotel.html

Oh Pitt, why must you always follow your lady friends in everything?

As for Jolie, writing a script requires creativity and not just going from point A to B so I understand that quote:

“My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions.”

But that still doesn’t explain why she can’t navigate through Amazon. I recently signed up with the site and found it easy peasy and I can’t write a script about complex issues that I never even witnessed OR learn how to fly a plane. You would think that Amazon would be a walk in the park for her.

    • layla says:

As an architect this annoys me to NO END. Pitt just up and designs a hotel yeah right. Pft.

This almost annoys me as much as every second want-to-be-cool guy on tv and in movies is depicted as an effin architect.

      GAH!

*sorry, end rant… but I know “morticians…” hears me on this.

      • layla says:

My boyfriend is by no means dumb, holds a great job and has many and varying interests.

However, he STRUGGLES with technology… not because he doesn’t have the brain capacity or that he’s trying to act above the masses, but because he has the patience of a gnat and gets frustrated easily and would rather be doing something not in front of a computer. Seriously, if he doesn’t find what he is looking for in one click. That’s it. He’s done.

I also interpret her “gets lost” comment in the same way that sometimes I “fall down the YouTube spiral” … and before I know it. I’m 3hrs into YouTube videos of some genre of music I’ve never even heard of!!!! -haha

(Whoops. This was meant to be a general comment, not a specific one back at you NM9005 …. so apparently, I “get lost” on Celebitchy too sometimes! 😉 )

      • NM9005 says:

        – It’s hardly a rant :).

        – I just typed “brad pitt architecture” and took one of the first links actually. I knew he was somehow connected with it.

        – Now that I read the other comments, I can see it from a different angle. Plus your comment on the “getting lost on Youtube part”, I totally get that :D, it happens to me all the time so yes I now get what Jolie probably tried to say. Considering she has to shop for 6 people instead of only herself, I can see the problems that could arise.

      • lucy2 says:

Me too layla! It’s so much schooling, training, experience, etc, I get really annoyed when someone (esp. an actor who doesn’t seem all that bright) claims to just jump in and design something like a hotel. Just…no.
I also either laugh or get annoyed when movies portray architects as you described. I remember one film had a young character who started a firm on his own, and less than a year later had gorgeous, big, finished project photos all around the office. Again…no.

  12. truthSF says:

Amazon is so easy to navigate. It’s my #1 online ordering site.

  13. lin234 says:

I interpreted her quote as Amazon has too big of a selection and it’s easy to spend too much time on it or get “lost”. I’m guessing she orders from specialty high end catalogs. I can see why catalogs are easier in the sense that it shows a selection of items that you may not have thought you wanted but looks so good in the pictures and most importantly it’s not as time consuming for her.

Amazon is great when you know exactly what you want and you can compare prices to try to get a bargain but I don’t casually shop on there. I’d find it a bigger story if Angelina loves a good bargain and shops clearances.

    • lisa says:

Finally a voice of reason. People really do jump on everything she says.

    • anon says:

I order only 1 or 2 items and know exactly what I want, otherwise too many tabs open up, like other posters have said. It can take a while (especially if there are people around asking you stuff or you move away from the PC 🙂 )

    • Reece says:

Agreed. If you’re just browsing thru Amazon is a mess.

    • The Original Mia says:

There you go being rational. Amazon is fine when you know what you want, but a beast when you don’t. With 6 kids of varying tastes and ages, it isn’t a walk in the park. It’s an adventure of epic proportions.

  14. Gift says:

    @lin234 I agree with U̶̲̥̅̊ on that!

  15. TheOriginalKitten says:

I took the comment as her feeling “overhwelmed” by Amazon-not that she literally didn’t know how to use it. I am an online shopping devotee but even I have days where it’s just to irritating/time-consuming trying to shop online.

  16. crys737 says:

Ironically enough…she was in the movie “Hackers”…

  17. lisa says:

OMG.. a one sentence comment that was not that serious is being used to determine someone intellect. So what if she just didn’t get all that amazon crap. I don’t order off line. ONE because I don’t feel like having to search for things that much.

but leave it to the critics to make a mountain from a mole hill. Why is every comment she makes made into a freaking lead story. This is beyond crazy.

  18. Bermuda Blues says:

I bet they get the Robb Report. It’s a fancy magazine/catalog which highlights all the ridiculous toys available for the rich and famous.

  19. Sakyiwaa says:

How does being able to navigate Amazon show or contribute to your intellect? Wow… And maybe we should grade all screenwriters on their ability to use Amazon.
    Maybe she’s not that interested…
I miss Angelina week too. Boo :-(!

    • pwal says:

Kinda crazy, isn’t it? Especially since she is one of the few celebrities photographed with books, usually about history, politics, infrastructure… you know… fluff.

Please, let’s stone Angelina for not toting around Smart Phones, IPads, etc. Let’s take her children away just because she didn’t accompany her kids to an Apple store. You know, maybe Angelina’s ability to keep technology dependence at bay serves her well, whether she’s on her UNHCR trips or hanging out with with the family on trips.

      • Erandyn says:

pwal, I bet if you had been born a few generations ago, you’d be complaining loudly about that new-fangled, pretentious light-bulb fad that all the kids are becoming dependent upon, and how a good, wholesome candle is just fine for you, thank you very much.

Ah, luddites, gotta love ’em! I’ll get off your lawn now, ma’am… 😀

      • Lucy says:

I agree…Nothing ticks me off more than to see a parent with their eyes glued to their Iphone when they are with their children…that goes for celebs and non-celebs…and so many pics of these celebs are exactly like that…when you are with your children..FOCUS ON YOUR CHILDREN…

    • Erandyn says:

People aren’t being graded on their ability to use Amazon, any more than they’re being graded on their ability to tie their shoelaces. However, if I hear of an adult who is NOT able to tie their laces (in a world where shoes and laces are ubiquitous), and who in fact tried for an hour, “got lost” and eventually gave up, I most certainly reserve the right to judge their intellect. 🙂

      • Sakyiwaa says:

Hmm… Erandyn… I dunno if you can be the best judge of somebody’s intelligence. What am I saying? Of course you can…

I guess it’s not a big deal that people criticize standardized tests as a tool for deciding a person’s intellect, because you can always use a person’s ability to navigate a shopping website instead?

        Carry on…

    • Yup,it’s been fun!!

  20. EmmaStoneWannabe says:

“What if you were the one who had to tell Angelina that you no longer had the Empress’s hoodie in pink?”

hahah you’d be like, “Well Ms. Jolie..I’m um..soo so sorry.. we do not exactly have that item in that specific size and color at this exact moment, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be too much trouble.”..*calls sweatshop manager in a tizzy* lol

  21. Raz says:

I think she means she can obviously navigate through amazon, hence being online for an hour, if she couldn’t figure it out at all she would have been on for a few minutes then got frustrated and quit. She was on for an hour, so she says, so I assume she means she was looking at stuff, then maybe she would see other items at the bottom of the page that says “other people who bought this item also bought..”
I bet she just kept clicking those items, and ended up distracted away from what she was initially meant to be shopping for, then got frustrated and turned it off.
This happened to me only a week ago, I was checking out amazon, I usually don’t use amazon, and I got completely taken away from those items at the bottom of the screen, I spent literally, hours, looking at the most silliest items that I didn’t need at all, mainly novelties or even kids toys (they have the coolest toys these days I’m jealous) then I realized I had just wasted hours and had to close the browser to get myself away from it or It probably would have sucked another 3 hours from my life.

Or perhaps she’s lying or exaggerating because she saw the article on how she’s addicted to online shopping and didn’t want to be portrayed in that way, so she “accidentally purposely” planned to say that beforehand.

Omg it’s 2.30am and someone just turned on their vacuum cleaner WHAT THE HELL. This neighborhood is weird and rough as. I bet their vacuuming up organs of a body they just decapitated, seriously.

    • Sakyiwaa says:

      Lol! at the “vacuum” part…

I’m certainly with you on the rest of your comment though. I can literally kill HOURS of my time on the internet, trying to do all kinds of things I figure will be made easier via the internet and accomplishing very little… (mostly due to Celebitchy distractions 🙂 and the like)…

One day, i plan to quit it entirely…
But Celebitchy will be sorely missed… hehe!

I merely suspect AJ wasn’t enjoying ‘wasting’ all that time, trying to get a few simple things done…

But nooo, it has to be cos she’s as dumb as Klunk…!

  22. Cerulean says:

Amazon used to be easy but I gave up shopping for certain things and I’m tech savvy. They have too many categories and the descriptions that used to work sometimes bring up the wrong stuff and leaves out other items. Very irritating. So I get it. No big deal.

  23. LavenderLava says:

ShanKat, I guess you have no use for the elderly, or the blind then, either. Your post makes you sound immature and a real idiot.

  24. Original Chloe says:

    Kaiser, you fickle fickle thing.
Weren’t you complaining less than a week ago that there’s just too much AJ in the news?

  25. pwal says:

I haven’t been on Amazon for a while (mainly because I’m broke), but you do get lost in there, not necessarily because it’s hard to navigate, but because they offer ‘suggestions’ related to what you’re currently looking at, resulting in you looking at other stuff. And I have to read the reviews…

So, for me, you have to have a couple of hours free in order to enjoy visiting Amazon. Maybe, for Angelina, it’s crunch time and she needs something more straight-forward. She really can’t shop in stores without blogs blowing up her shopping bags and revealing what she bought or having some store clerk detailing what she bought, who she brought with her, her temperament while shopping, etc.

  26. Lady Kim says:

Can some of you read because not once did she say didn’t know how use the internet or even say the word internet this is what she said

(Brad and I were on Amazon.com for the first time a week ago. But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off,” she tells USA Today. “My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions. I’ll stick to catalogs.”)

Now where did see her say she has no use for the internet or doesn’t know how to use it in the above sentence please tell me, she says her first time on Amazon.com she got lost and gave up and that she rather SHOP in catalogs then online.

Here is a link of Angelina talking about how she started writing script while sick but the bulk of it was written later. Now I know some of you are not going to watch it because it will prove you wrong and you would rather believe whatever story you made up but I’m going to post it anyway .

She talks about it at the 1:42 mark
    http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2011/12/extra_exclusive_angelina_jolie_on_directing_and_blood_and_honey.php

  27. Heine says:

Sorry but that quote makes her sound dumb. It reminds me of the women who think acting stupid is cute or somehow attractive. ‘I’m just such a silly goose! I can’t figure out how to work the Amazon! Too much going on! Its too confusing for my scattered little mind’ *cute face* And she makes her boyfriend seem like a moron too by sucking him into the ‘We had to shut Amazon off because we got lost’ nonsense.

Amazon is not difficult at all. It is a standard search and retrieve site. I’ve clicked on those little ‘other people bought these’ when I was just shopping around for nothing in particular. But if I was looking for a specific item and I found it, I’d compare prices and then buy it. Done and done.

What is so difficult about that?

Oh and her comment about young people in the business living in a warped reality-I hope she’s just talking about actors. Everyone else in that business lives in a very REAL world with important jobs that are not about playing pretend.

  28. LavenderLava says:

Since it is clear that that wasn’t what she meant, and you misunderstood, your comment makes you sound dumb (and bitter) Heine.

    • Heine says:

Hmm…she said she got lost on Amazon, a fairly simple site. She said she was scatterbrained. I’m not seeing how there is any room for misunderstanding. Seems like there were too many options and too many paths and her poor widdle brain short circuited.

And what is with the ‘bitter’ comment? SHE said that SHE was scatterbrained and turned off Amazon after an hour and I’m bitter about it? How does that make any sense?

EDIT: By the way, have a sense of humor about this. It’s celebrity gossip not negotiations for world peace. Chill out.

  29. I Choose Me says:

I can see how one would get ‘lost’ on Amazon. I’m link happy. I have to force myself not to click on links sometimes. Then as someone upthread said, you have *customers who bought x also bought y* showing (tempting you) below so I click on those too and get totally distracted and before you know it I’ve got a gazillion tabs open and I’ve wasted two hours when I was only supposed to be on for fifteen minutes at best.

She also said that she and Brad were on for an hour which means she can and did navigate the site for some time but probably kept getting side-tracked and couldn’t make up her mind.

    • Eve says:

      “Link happy”…lol! That’s freaking perfect!

And yes, I’m link happy too. For instance, I avoid Youtube as much as I can because I know I’ll click on at least 5 from those “related videos” on the right side.

  30. anneesezz says:

Always needing to be oppositve of the “masses.” Her thinly veiled self-deprecating comments are so insincere.

  31. LavenderLava says:

Heine, she didn’t mean it the way you interpretted it. I’ve read your posts and know your game. Always pouncing on any reason to make snarky comments about Angelina yet defend Aniston. Your ilk are the reason I hate Aniston even more.

    • Heine says:

You know you can direct-reply right?

Anyway, if you followed my posts as closely as you claim to (weird) you’d have noticed that I don’t do any of what you’ve just said. Evidently you don’t know my ‘game’ as well as you think you do.

Last week was full of stories about her ripe for the snarking. If I pounce on any excuse to snark on her, why didn’t I bother with all those stories last week?

And I find it odd that you hate someone based on your perceived notions of how a small portion of her fans behave. You don’t seem to hate Angelina based on the same exact behavior from Brangeloonies (who are also a small portion of a larger fan base).

Try to not take this so seriously and try not to hate strangers. It’s weird.

      • Wildone says:

Aren’t you hating on a stranger because you don’t know Angelina and your right it is weird.

      • Erandyn says:

Wildone – no, having opinions and theories about a celebrity’s thoughts and actions, on a website dedicated to people having opinions about celebrities, is not weird.

Having opinions and theories about a another poster’s thoughts and actions, (not to mention their, ahem, “game”), however… now THAT is weird.

      • Heine says:

Wildone: The problem with your statement is that I don’t hate Angelina nor would I ever say that I hated a stranger unlike LavendarLava who freely admits to hating someone *more* based on the actions of other strangers.

        Now THAT is weird.

I’m not a fan of Angelina’s so when she says something ridiculous, I’ll comment about it but other than that she’s such a colossal bore that most of the time I skip posts about her altogether.

Commenting on a stupid thing to say is not ‘hating’. People play way too fast and loose with that word these days.

  32. LavenderLava says:

@Kobi, is that any different from you loonistons tarring and feathering angelina for every single comment she makes, no matter how innuous? Such hypocrisy. Go back to FreaksFirst.

  33. LavenderLava says:

    *innocuous

  34. whatevs says:

lol i like this very honest and real interview. that is a good explanation she has of why the hollywood starlets are losing it, or people who have long been there like tom cruise or mel gibson, and how seeing the less fortunate of the world made her come down to earth. also i completely understand that she became responsible upon adopting Maddox and all the family life after that, haters need to let go of the past and this goes for their yearning of other people’s past…. she grew up people, let it go! stop bringing up the blood drop in a vial or whatever she grew up and let go of all the rebelling against jon the douche voight or whatever. and i like her honesty about not being good with computers and stuff. she admitted to not being into video games before. now that’s refreshing after her copycat megan fox and that olivia munn are acting like biggest nerds ever. we can see through your disguise, some people are nerds and some are beautiful actresses and there is nothing wrong or right about either of these things, but i wish more celebs would be real like angie and would stop pretending to be that ugly shy geek whom nobody talked to in order to garner sympathy.

  35. Callumna says:

Oh oh. And they’re letting her fly planes.

  36. I don’t do Amazon…But…I get lost in the airport EVERY time I go. Starting with the parking lot…

  37. WhiteNoise says:

I use Amazon at least once a week to buy stuff and it can be very annoying and time-consuming if you haven’t a clear plan before boarding! If you know what you want, then it’s a doddle. If you’re browsing and looking for ideas, it can eats up hours with nothing to show for it at the end. That’s all she’s saying. Bizarre how her perfectly common Amazon experience is being picked up as some lack on her part or an indication of her intelligence.

    • Erandyn says:

You know, physically shopping at a mall can also be “very annoying and time-consuming if you haven’t a clear plan before boarding”. People who go in without a list often come out with some unnecessary items, having forgetten a few, etc. What they *don’t* generally do is wander around for an hour, “get lost” and then give up and vow to never go again. (Unless they’re Paris Hilton, I suppose…) 😛

  38. kimberly says:

i don’t shop amazon either, but it’s because I don’t like amazon, or their subsidiary.

  39. Mac says:

Brad smokes too damn much weed and was probably more of a hindrance than a help to Angelina.

I have 600 items saved for later and find that Amazon is almost too easy to navigate.

    • Erandyn says:

LOL! I think you may be on to something – that would explain a lot. Picture it:

B: “Dude, how cool is that thing? And that? Hey click on that! Now that! Wait, wait… what were we looking for again?”

A: “Uh, dunno… sure could do with some fries, though… you want some fries?”

      B: “Dude!”

One hour has (somehow) elapsed, browser has been closed, kitchen has been raided. An average day in the Brangelina household.

      • Sakyiwaa says:

        *champagne popping*

        It is now OFFICIAL y’all!!!

        yeah! WOP WOP!

      • Erandyn says:

I wonder if you’d be getting this excited / defensive if the store in question (that she managed to get lost in) were a physical one… 🙂

      • Sakyiwaa says:

You apparently think the ability to use Amazon.com (not the internet, cos that’s not what she said) is some kind of aptitude test. Trust me, I was genuinely amused…:D

Is it possible to ‘get lost’ in a big-a** shopping mall looking for stuff… yes, of course. Reason: So much to choose from, frustration from searching taking too long and fascination with everything else that isn’t what you wanted.

Is it possible to ‘get lost’ looking for stuff on the internet. Yes, of course. For reason: see above…:)

And no, i wouldn’t mind if she got ‘lost’ in physical shops. i get ‘lost’ in physical shops all the time.

  40. NO SH¡T says:

Damn they must smoke some grade A and took a couple of shots….how do you get lost on Amazon being sober???

  41. jin says:

Angelina week is not over. Her film didn’t come out this week. You can be she’ll make sure she has tons of PR the rest of this month. Kaiser’s love for Angelina Jolie is kind of annoying. She’s a big phony and so manipulative.

  42. CHRISTIAN_GIRL says:

While interviewed in her trailer in Budapest, the interviewer stated Angie had lots of catalogs stacked that she was shopping from and that the items would be sent to their next destination. It is how she likes to shop.

There is no story here and we can move along. Amazon is not for everyone including her and Brad. Cute that they shop together, but wait we know that from store pictures. Something else they like to do. Online seems like something they don’t like to do and it is time consuming. 6 kids does not mix well with searching. I am thinking they are not getting 1 item per kid either, but loads. Seeing it before your eyes makes better sense.

Being stoned for online shopping, but sober enough for catalogs shopping apparently is silly speak. No where is she indicating being under the influence. We all are wired differently. No biggee. Writing a story is not shopping, otherwise I have written tons of stories and movie scripts. I like shopping.

She is quite clear, unless you want to twist it. She can shop however she likes. No indication of intelligence, which she and Brad obviously are. Certainly, enough to read and push a button, but choose not to. What crime is that? She has to be ridiculed because of her statement. Honestly, she ruffles many feathers for absolutely nothing. Do their kids receive the gifts, than that is enough for me. They are happy and get lots of stuff, they don’t care how it got there.

There are plenty of things they do well so let them live how they see fit.

  43. DeeVine says:

And you guys believe that her assistant, or someone from her large team doesn’t do the online shopping or the catalogue ordering for her?

I’m sure she just circles the items and someone else does the calling and filling up forms. Too busy writing screenplays in 2 days!

    • lisa says:

Give me a break. How many time are you all going to misquote her. SHE NEVER SAID SHE WROTE IT IN 2 DAYS.

Seriously some of you sound like a broken record. And for the record. some people that can write are able to write an idea down or whatever in a short amount of them. Angie said she did the outline pretty much. If the idea and scene are in your head it is not hard to let the words flow.

It’s funny that because YOU can’t do something it is beyond reason that she can’t. The thing I love is all the positive feedback she is getting. Must really chafe you butt. I think that is the problem some of you were so hoping that she would fail. that there would be all this negative around her movie. Well suck it up.. it is not happening.

so get ready. because Ms. Jolie has won this round too. And I’m glad her detractors are pissed. Good. it will only get worst for all of you.

      GO ANGIE..

  44. CHRISTIAN_GIRL says:

If Angie circled what she wanted, she did the shopping.

You have never picked out something, ran to do something else and had someone take it to the counter and pay for it? REALLY?

The catalogs were in her trailer that she was going thru. Why is that hard to believe? She is NOT incompetent.

She seems to be able to do all sorts of things in quick order too. Once she knows, she knows and does not waste time. Brad would best be able to tesitfy to that, seeing how fast his family grew and bonded. What exactly should she be waiting for? ITLOBAH was filmed quickly too or is that also not believable even though we have the timeline chronicled with pictures?

Everything with her is questioned down the the finest detail for what purpose? Her life goes on.

The Bosnian people have more than embraced her film including the female who tried to make trouble. The writer suing her has withdrawn his trying to stop the release date because he had to. What else does she need to do? She moves forward at a quick pace to do as she sees fit. Admirable to me.

  45. Jay says:

I think by her “getting lost” she meant they ended up looking at other things instead of what they intended to get. It happens to me as well. I’d end up clicking all the suggested items and before you know it, it’s been 2 hours already. Just like ending up in the weird part of YouTube.

  46. sandy#1 says:

i don’t take the negatives on angie personally, she’s not perfect by any means, but she is way up there, more so than most in hollyweir fame seekers and her distractors, she admits she is a geek. also back lash for the beating someone took this weekend with that bought and made up title, whew!!!! that was bad.lol

  47. telesma says:

Amazon is a bit cluttered and unwieldy, as they seem to want to be all things to all people. I can see someone who is unfamiliar with it having enough trouble with it to just give up after a while.

Then again, if she has a pilot’s license and can’t navigate the most popular shopping site on the internet, umn, I dunno.

Whatever, if she likes catalogs, she could do worse than Hearthsong and Music For Little People. They’re AWESOME kids catalogs, especially if you want to foster creativity and curiosity.

  48. chatcat says:

Come on…Amazon is probably the easiest and most reputable of all online shipping. Maybe she’d need her assistant/nanny to shop for her. To me there isn’t a genuine good quality to either her or Brad…oh she knows how to play the media but is it the real them…I don’t buy it. Plus, for God’s sake Ang go eat something, anything, that has a carb in it! If the camera adds 10 lbs then she really is only a functioning skeleton with tatted skin applied sporadically.

  49. pamela says:

LMAO, I cannot believe that Angie saying she got lost” on Amazon is somehow proof of her incompetence, ignorance or intelligence. My co workers and I must be total dimwits then because we have never shopped on Amazon, and don’t feel lacking in any way.

But carry on with this nonsense….like Christian girl said, Angie just keeps forging ahead.

  50. Katherine says:

Why has this become an issue or a reason to question this woman or her IQ or, of all things, her “genuineness”? She never said she didn’t know how to use it or navigate it. In starll contrast, catalogues usually have similar items on the same page or series of pages. Amazon doesn’t have quite the same feature.

And yes, as someone who has made extensive use of Amzaon for many years I know that if you start clicking on Amazon’s suggested purchases, “what other people are buying”, reviews, etc. you can easily get “lost” in the sense that you get farther and farther away from your target product and its related items. Getting back to the page you really want can be annoying – especially if you add items to your wish list (or 6 wish lists) along the way.

Is there nothing people will not use to criticize this woman? I guess not.
