I’m trying to use different photos of Brangelina in Palm Springs – different from the ones I used in yesterday’s Brangelina post. I still think Angelina looks a tad knocked up, but I could just be misreading her love of sack gowns. Anyway, as we’ve already documented extensively, Brad Pitt is walking with a cane now. While he was in Palm Springs, he talked to various media outlets and basically said that he took a tumble and messed up his knee because he was trying to avoid dropping Vivienne, but the circumstances seem to be changing. Angelina backs up his story, sort of. But I feel a conspiracy coming on….
It’s all Viv’s fault! Brad Pitt was rocking a cane at the Palm Springs Film Film Festival gala on Saturday night — and he finally explained the injury (first revealed late last week) on the red carpet to Us Weekly.
“I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 3] down the hill and I slipped and it was either her or me,” Pitt, 48, told Us. “It’s my ACL,” he added of the knee injury, but added that no surgery is planned. “I think I will be alright!”
At his side at the event, love Angelina Jolie was quick to tell reporters that he’s not asking for extra help around the house because of the injury.
“He is not that kind of guy,” the In the Land of Blood and Honey director, 36, said. “He does everything! I like the cane!”
And little Vivienne (twin sister to Knox) is no worse for the wear either. “Vivi’s okay. She was absolutely fine. He took the fall.”
Jolie similarly hurt herself years ago with her eldest, Maddox, 10. “It happened when Mad was younger. I took a fall as well and cracked my elbow because I wanted to make sure he wasn’t injured,” Jolie said. “Every parent has injured themselves.”
Among their six kids, the child of the weekend was Zahara, who turned 7 on Sunday. “We are focusing on birthday parties tomorrow for Zahara,” Jolie added.

As for the ever-changing story on Brad‘s knee, Angelina explained it again to Fox News: “We are building different parts of the lawn, and he was going down to see it, and the grass was changing levels, and he slipped. In order to make sure [Vivienne] was okay he threw himself down to protect her. He did the dad thing.” What about the skiing story? HM? I’m telling you… CONSPIRACY. Did they ever really go skiing? Did Brad really fall while he was holding Viv? Which home were they in? Where is this mysterious yard? Or did Angelina bust a cap in Brad’s knee when he misbehaved? Can we discuss why he didn’t want the photos of him leaving a beauty spa released and got his lawyers to get sites to remove them? Even Lainey, number one Brange fan /supporter, finds it weird. I find it strange too. Why would these pics be a problem, but pics of his kids that are taken by the paps aren’t being removed off sites by his lawyers, you’d think he’d be more concerned for his kids privacy than whether or not people know he’s more vain than his image suggests.

Exactly. He’s an actor part of his job is keeping himself looking as good as possible. Why would photos of him maintaining his looks, which is part of his appeal as an actor/celebrity be such a problem that legal action needs to be taken? While on the other hand, pics of his kids, which sometimes(esp. Pax) they look distressed in, are not removed. It’s so strange.

As Eve said previously,his skin looks “pinkish” if he had a peel at the spa it would cause that. Men are just as vain as women but there’s a stigma toward men who do the same stuff as women to maintain their looks. I’m wondering how did the lawyers get the images pulled? If he was in the building then they might have grounds. But if he was in the street with no expectation of privacy then it’s curious.

Yes, I saw the ‘lawyers ordered the photos removed’ story at Lainey Gossip as well. When I read her ‘statement’ (she sounded too smug about it all for an assumption) the first thought through my mind was ‘what about all the other photo links at Lainey’s (and else where) with messages reading ‘These photos have been removed and are no longer accessible’? That happens all the time at Lainey Gossip, so why is she making such a fuss over Brad’s photos?
I’ve been more and more disenchanted with Lainey since that whole unsubstantiated ‘Michael C. Hall/Julia Stiles’ rumor she started in December 2010.

My read on the whole “picture coming out of spa with cane thing” is that Brad didn’t like the photos. C’mon every person has an ego and the pictures weren’t particularly flattering. The guy was in a jumpsuit and leaning on a medical appliance. That kinda shouts “grandpa” versus the ones above that, to me, send out an elder statesman vibe. I know which statement I think that Brad would rather put out there.

When is the last time you heard of Pitt threatening legal action to have photos supressed? Hell, he didn’t even do that when there were pix out that made it look like he was more than just a bit friendly with that assistant of his.
It’s not like it’s any secret that all of the stars get looked after right before awards shows. What’s so special about these?

I don’t know if Pitt moved to have the pictures removed at all. Jenni and Lainey, apparently, are suggesting that that is the case. IF that is the case, I was suggesting why he might have done it.
To answer your question about when I have heard of him having pictures suppressed, I haven’t but then again I don’t follow him as closely as others obviously do. I wouldn’t be surprised if he or any other HW star with power did do that sort of thing. As to what was so special about these pictures, nothing as far as I can see. I don’t think that it is any secret that Brad tries to upkeep his looks which I find to be pretty common regardless of who you are.
Anyway, that my supposition in this game of “what if”.

His story is the same. The lazy reporting is the problem. When he was interviewed by ET, (there is tape), he said he was walking down a slope, which in the English language, means hill. The lazy reporters added the skiing part since I guess all slopes must involve skiing and this was of course picked up by the remainder of the press and repeated. He never said he was skiing.
He and Angelina always said hill (slope), which happened to be in their yard, which by the way, was the original story. His story never changed. And please do not use Lainey’s lazy reporting as proof. She is just repeating what she had already heard.

I doubt Lainey spoke to Angie and Brad directly. But if she did, she probably heard the ski accident story before speaking with Angie and just reported that Angie said it. Remember this is the same person who pretended that she attended the AfterParty for MoneyBall during the Toronto Film Festival and gave all these details about the JP’s. Found out later this was 3rd hand information given to her by a colleague of a colleague.

Wonder why the show Lainey works at “ETalk” is showing a clip of Angie at the festival clearly stating Brad slipped on the lawn. On the Clip there were several reporters. But it was a Fox reporter who asked Angie what happened to Brad. Wouldn’t you think her own show would highlight her interviewing Angie? They did show her asking Brad a question about George Clooney.

Just because the implied violence was described in lighthearted terms doesn’t make it any better to joke about. You said that you loved the idea that Angie hit him in the knee out of annoyance, so how is that not mocking the fact that whatever happened to him injured him enough to need a cane? What is there to love about the idea that someone hit someone else out of annoyance hard enough to cause injury?

I tripped over a half-buried stepping stone at a friend’s with my (then) infant daughter in my arms. I held her to me, tucked myself around her, and didn’t let go of her until after I hit the ground. She was fine – just scared. I broke the bone under my big toenail, which was ripped off, and damaged my right shoulder.
So I totally believe the “Vivi or me” story.

The gossip blogs added the SKI part. Just glad that Vivi wasn’t hurt. I just find it a shame GROWN ASS women trying to twist this into gossip. It did not bomb it opened in 3 theaters. They never expected it to make much with unknown actors, subtitles and such a brutal theme. Angelina herself said that all she cared about was that people from the region accepted it.

I think they both look like they are putting on a huge happiness act. I don’t think they are in the least happy or comfortable with themselves. I have wondered: if Angie is such a brain, why would she WANT to be with Brad-he’s proven himself to be quite the doufus. They’ve definitely done some very cool things, and I’ll agree that they are VERY out there regarding important environmental & humanitarian causes, but mostly, they just seem restless & caught in a famewhore ferris wheel prison. Err… while the Fass is an incredible actor and I don’t think he’s a doof at all, he’s not an intellectual academic either; just down-to-earth and simple dude who keeps the lowest of profile. Brad said to ET that they the family went on New Years Ski trip. He was carrying his daughter down a slope and lost his footing. He made sure he took the impact and that she Viv was OK.
Now how that all translates to his is faking an injury for what purpose, that He and Angie had a fight and are on the verge of a major break up. They are not happy together because someone sees a picture where they are not glowing at each other. Brad had pictures removed because he doesn’t want people to know he went to a spa that he has already been photographed at before.
I know that this is celebitchy. but is this the news. Brad is walking with a cane is big news. There are loads of internet videos of he and Angie saying that they were WALKING down the slope when on a ski trip. I’m sure the entertainment shows will have it in great detail. Because that seemed to be the major issue of interest. Which is beyond funny to me.
but whatever.. the truth is never as exciting as the speculation.

Exactly!The twins may have been creating the concept with their legos and Brad had a bit too much smoke and thought he fell off the top floor thus injuring himself!I knew we’d crack the mysterious case of the 49 year old male injuring himself as that has been a world wide mystery for decades!

Somebody is desperate for a Brad/Angelina if you’re trying to make a story out of the nothing. The skiing story never came directly from Brad or Angelina. They’ve both said the same several times so I don’t know why people are claiming they are lying or hiding something. Just because a tabloid or blog says “close source” doesn’t mean it’s true.

I looked at a couple other sources, and Brad said he fell down a hill while on a ski trip, but never said he was skiing. Also, ski boots are notoriously hard to walk in, especially downhill (and it does make sense that he would be carrying his young child to make sure she didn’t fall). Sooo I don’t see a conspiracy at all, as fun as that would be.

I cannot find one flattering thing about that bed sheet she is calling a dress. Horrid color, no shape, blech. I loved her in the dark blue gown with one shoulder she wore recently though. She looks better in a vibrant color and not a baggy beige sheet. I have nothing to add to the discussion of the conspiracy of the cane.

Her eye make-up in these Palm Springs photos makes her look exhausted. She’s using red-brown shades around her eyes, and it isn’t flattering.

The cane is all for show. He is walking like he always does and standing on it with all his weight in some of the pictures. Since they are not pregnant and people (expect the loons) are not really interested in the kids anymore he has to get atention somehow. Desperate – but it is working for him. Watch the cane disappear after the awards season. People are really getting tired of these two – they are all over and everywhere it is hard to go a day without them making sure they have their picture taken. pathetic. But oh well they want the attention. Let’s see the Beyonce plays out this whole baby thing – think she will sell pictures?
