It’s a sad day for beards! Emma Roberts, entitled princess and niece of Julia, has broken up with Chord Overstreet, the boy from Glee. Yes, they were dating. I actually knew that, because as soon as they got together, they did a “photo shoot” together at Disneyland or something, and it was really clear that this was just a professional “relationship” – like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens or something. Emma really tried to make this thing with Chord (I can’t with that name) happen, but… it just never “took”.
Not-so-gleeful news. Chord Overstreet and Emma Roberts have split after 9 months together, two sources confirm to Us Weekly.
(JustJared was first to break the news late Monday that the Glee actor, 22, and Scream 4 actress, 20, had parted ways.)
The cute couple were first caught making out last April at the A|X Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine carnival in Indio, Calif., and finally went public in July with a stroll through London.
Roberts — actress Julia Roberts’ niece — once dated Hollywood bad boy Alex Pettyfer. Overstreet’s exes include Taylor Swift (he was her brief rebound last winter following her split from Jake Gylllenhaal) and Glee costar Naya Rivera.
What went wrong? “They’re both young kids, they had crushes on each other but the relationship ran its course,” one source explains to Us. “She isn’t and wasn’t looking for a serious thing.” Roberts, who partied solo in Sundance, is “back to having fun now.”
“He’s so nice and was such a good boyfriend,” another insider says of Overstreet. “He was always so sweet.”

Emma has been getting more press than usual lately – she went to Sarah Lawrence for a whole semester (not really), and then she “deferred” (dropped out) because college is SO HARD and she wanted to pap herself in LA. I’m surprised the college thing wasn’t used as an excuse here – “Emma was pursuing her education, and the relationship suffered” etc. Someone needs a better publicist.
Incidentally, just hours before the breakup was announced, Us Weekly had this story:
Even though Glee lost out to Modern Family for Best Comedy Series Ensemble at Sunday’s SAG Awards, the evening still proved to be a success for Chord Overstreet, who managed to meet his favorite esteemed actor!
The 22-year-old Glee star’s big moment came after the SAG Awards had wrapped inside Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, at one of the evening’s after parties.
“Chord Overstreet met Brad Pitt, his idol, and was ecstatic about it!” a source from inside the event tells Us Weekly. “People literally stopped in their tracks as Brad and [Angelina Jolie] walked by — you could overhear other celebrities talking about how beautiful and handsome they were.”

So Chord dumped his girlfriend shortly after he met Brad Pitt. That’s what I’m getting from this story. Take that as you will.

Did I not get the memo on how everyone in Hollywood is gay? Why is everyone a beard? I think its pretty cruel to say for every couple who doesn’t “make sense” for us is all of a sudden gay and that they should be ashamed of that so they have to cover it up.

If anyone deserves a WHY IS, it’s definitely Julia Robert’s niece. Blake Lively is Meryl Streep compared to this young girl, and from whatever interview soundbite I’ve heard, she sounds like an trust-fund entitled twit (sorry if that sounds harsh), way more than any other young starlet of that age bracket.

Chord’s father is like this super legend Nashiville singer/songwriter so him being named Chord makes sense. Plus I loved the character Cord on One life To Live (Tina and Cord forever).
I do get some samey vibes from Chord, but that might just because I ashamedly read a lot of GLEE fanfic, and they’ve always got his character SAM in a three way or relationship with Kurt. OMG, please never tell anyone else that I still read fanfic. LOL
But I am hoping for an Amber Riley (Mercedes)/Chord hook-up. He is pimping Samcedes so hard that a girl can dream. Can’t wait for tonight’s Michael epi in which they sing Human Nature together.

Love TB FF! My favorite is Tara/Eric because it’s so wrong it’s right! Twilight fanfic is sooo good. A lot of them are better than the books, which is hilarioulsy awesome.
I wrote Buffy fanfic and won awards and everything years ago, like when fanfic first came out. I just love to write so it helps me get in creative mode for my original stories.

They are very young. How many boyfriends have most of us had. This is just life. I just never get crazy when tween or barely post teens are dating. It last until it burns out. Not much of a story really. She’ll have another boyfriend in a month or so and same with him.

She was NEVER on campus while “attending” Sarah Lawrence. I’m a student there and I can honestly tell you I never once saw her. I asked a friend who is an RA and he said she stayed in an apartment in NYC most of the time even though she asked for a roommate when she applied.
