This is the new cover of Vogue Paris, starring Gisele Bundchen, her crazy butt and some sand. Is it wrong that I kind of like this unconventional cover image? “Unconventional” in the sense that you usually don’t see this kind of butt-tastic photo on the cover of a women’s magazine. I could totally see it on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, or perhaps one of the fancier men’s magazines. Still, I do like it. I know everyone loves to hate on Gisele (sometimes with good reason, sometimes not), but the woman has a GREAT body, and I would love to have that kind of butt (and thighs). Plus, I just think Gisele looks prettier when she’s got beachy, light, natural styling. When people try to make Gisele look all “high-fashion” and avant-garde, it’s often a disaster (in my opinion). I wonder how they achieved the sandy butt look? Did Gisele do it herself, or was there some kind of butt-sand wrangler/handler?
Incidentally, Gisele was also named the newest face of David Yurman. My favorite Yurman ads are, without a doubt, the Kate Moss ones. You can see Gisele’s ads here – she looks pretty, but it definitely seems like they’re trying to recreate the Moss ones.
We haven’t talked about Gisele in more than a week, basically since we laughed and laughed at the photos of Gisele and Tom Brady at the Met Gala. It wasn’t that Gisele looked bad – at all. I actually liked her dress, although it was a big boring (and as some of you pointed out, Kristen Stewart wore a surprisingly similar version last year). No, we all laughed at Tom Brady and his surely Gisele-ordered hairstyle. It was pretty rough. Is it unfair to Gisele to blame her for Tom’s hair don’t? I still don’t know. But I still think that they were, at best, embarrassing on the Met Gala red carpet, and at worst, they were completely boring. Neither prospect bodes well.

I remember when she first emerged as the “Boobs from Brazil” and you could get “Free the Gisele Two!” T-shirts. Compare to her flat-chested physique now and it’s clear she had plastic titties at the time, although whoever did her boob job was a skilful surgeon because you really couldn’t tell.
However, if I could chose a model body I’d go with early noughties Tyra, because unlike Gis – who has no waist – she was all curves!

It reminds me a Naomi’s shoot, in which she was naked, but covered with sands. I think it was for the Pirelli’s calendar, but I’m not sure. Btw it was better.

Yes, you’re right, it was Pirelli Calendar. Naomi was so young and really really stunning. Gisele is the most famous and paid model right now, but she’s not Naomi’s league as a supermodel. Plus, she is so boring compared to the b…h…

Yup, that one. In my opinion, that’s one of the most beautiful pictures ever taken (for Pirelli calendars). If I remember correctly, she represented “summer”.
There was also Nadja Auermann (winter) and Christy Turlington (fall) — can’t remember which model represented “spring”, only that she was very bland (it didn’t seem she belonged to that class of models either).
Naomi Campbell is a MAJAH bitch, but boy…what a body.

I think it is a great shot too. She really does look her best on the beachy shots. But without a doubt she is a supermodel of this era.
While my supermodel favs are from way back when, she’s the only one that has come close to them.
Tom Brady’s hair…wow. I bet next year it won’t be fussed over as much. One bad gust of wind made him look goofy.

Not the best not the worst at least models still show up on European fashion mags; giselle will never eclipse the supers of the 90s; remember that iconic photo of cindy, linda, naomi, and christy strutting down the runway arm-in-arm laughing at the end of a versace show early 90s;that was fashion as aspiration, inspiration, fun, glamour it drew you in; oddly for all her fame and money giselle doesn’t do anything for fashion, she’s just there imho.
