These are photos from today’s Cannes Film Festival photo call for On the Road. You know what I like? I like that Kirsten “Kiki” Dunst is being treated like the “Queen of Cannes”. I was expecting more photos of Kristen Stewart, and while Kristen was definitely a photographer favorite, so was Kiki. Kiki stars in On the Road with her current boyfriend, Garrett Hedlund, and at one point during the photo call, Kiki and Garrett stood beside each other and photographers scored this pretty picture:
Kiki wore Dolce & Gabbana, and at one point she drapped Viggo Mortensen’s Canadian flag around her waist like a skirt. As for K-Stew’s outfit, it’s all Balenciaga. Interesting jeans/pants. At one point during the photo call, K-Stew and Kiki posed together, with no one else, and K-Stew kept making motions to Kiki’s belly… like, are we supposed to think that Kiki is pregnant? Would it surprise you if Kirsten Dunst was pregnant, presumably by Garrett Hedlund? I don’t know.
Viggo looks really hot, doesn’t he? Also pictured: Tom Sturride, director Walter Salles and Sam Riley. This photo call has actually made me a bit excited for the movie. Shall we see the trailer again? Sure!

I agree. Kirsten Dunst was wonderful in Melancholia. It’s the biggest Oscar snub in recent memory. I still couldnt believe she wasn’t nominated! She’s a great actress, who could forget her performance in Interview with the Vampire as Cauldia? She totally upstaged Tommy Girl and Brad Pitt and she was only 9 then! This girl will get her Oscar one day, I’m sure of it.

Yes, but smoking turns your fingers yellow, not brown.
Speaking as someone with primary Raynaud’s, your hands shouldn’t look dirty with Raynaud’s unless they are…you know…dirty and/or nicotine stained. When I’m showing symptoms, my hands and feet just look disturbingly white and lifeless, almost corpselike. I think Kristen just has smoker’s hands and no real concern about it.
They look dirty because the picture is edited. If you compare the colours of that picture to the other ones you can tell some sort of gray/brownish filter has been added. She just has red fingertips (as many people do) and the editing makes her fingers look dirty. In all of the other pictures they look clean.
Doesn’t the coloring of that whole picture look a little off too, though? I dont’ think her hands are dirty, they are just being shaded and the color processing of the photo makes them look “dirty”.

She’s way too old for this type of behavior. You never see other actors who are younger than her acting like this at events. She’s the only actor I can think of who consistently embarrasses herself at these things. Love her filthy nicotine and pot stained fingers. Nice.

The studios care FAR MORE about press like this…where the Hollywood Reporter calls Kristen’s performance “perfect”.

Tiffany – People care about the finger because doing press is a sales job, and Kristen Stewart is a sales person whilst on the red carpet, at a photo call or doing interviews to promote a movie.
There are many movies which get great reviews and they bomb at the box office, just as crappy movies become blockbusters.
I think studios (even the ones who are mostly care about “quality product”) care about the bottom line, unless they have money to burn.
@Tiffany – Stewart would run down a group of kids purposely, no remorse, and some people would think she’s the greatest. Let her do something that monsterous and watch studios sweat and not give a fig about good reviews. The point is, she’s one ignorant move away from serious bad press and Lohan-land.
Kristen is selling a movie, it is hardly like standing in a store selling products. You know this film is filled with drug use and sex right? The public does not expect actors to be perfect. Yes, if she did some Lohan-type crap, she would suffer the consequences. But flying the bird is HARDLY anything to get worked up over, especially for the indie style movies that she works in. The people who make and/or watch those movies do not care if she extends her middle finger. I think it is quite a disturbing stretch to say that she is close to killing children with her car. The most serious offense you are complaining about is a middle finger! (I really hope you see the vast difference between vehicular homicide and finger flashing).
Kristen isn’t one of my favorite actresses, but I think she is talented. Over the past few years it has amazed me that people critique her over the silliest, most inconsequential things. It is breath taking.
Oh and Orly, no doubt studios and film financiers care about the bottom line. However, with Kristen’s art house movies…they have a tiny bottom line. It requires a very different level of box office success to make a profit when you don’t spend $200 million to make the movie. I believe On the Road was made for only $25 million. They could release it On Demand and get their money back.
Tiff- I wouldn’t dare to question your expertise on the Hollywood Studio “thought process” or anything.
I do know a thing or two about marketing and advertising, image and perception.
I’m not going to debate whether or not Kristen Stewart’s finger flipping will/won’t affect her ticket sales, you are the studio expert after all. I just don’t see why anyone would condone that as proper behaviour in this situation.

The picture posted here has a different sepia tone than any of the others… Maybe this picture was altered somehow and creates that illusion.
That or her black Balenciaga jacket is bleeding ink so when she posed with he first closed on her hips, it’s running off onto her knuckles
It is pretty obvious that the color in that photo has been altered. Look at how some photos have a gray cast, and some have more pink tone to the skin.

The movie Control (biopic about the late Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis) is a great introduction to Sam Riley, he was quite remarkable in it, and I fell in love with him instantly!

I was over at the popsugar site where they have over 50+ pictures from this press conference. Kristen’s hands look very clean in every picture just like the People picture. Same for justjared and some links I opened on twitter. I don’t know why her hands look different on this site. Very weird.

I’m reading all these comments about Stewart’s dirty fingers so I looked at the picture again. OMG, and on a white dress. Dunst must have been praying there will not be photos of a big blot on her dress going around the world.
It is color editing on the photo! Look at all these pictures. See how in some of them Kirsten’s skin is nice and pink, and in others it looks more grey? You can REALLY tell a difference in the two group shots that are below the belly picture.
One is pinkish, one is grey. The grey coloring makes her hands look dirty, when they aren’t.

Kristen is a decent actress, that is why she gets movie roles. She has had a good reputation for many years, long before Twilight. The industry will cast people who have good reputations within their own communities, especially the indie filmmakers. There are tons of actors that work all the time that mainstream America doesn’t know, but they are highly regarded in the community.

I’ve noticed that Kristen has been getting nice write ups about her acting in this film even though the film is getting mixed reviews. I figured it would so I’m not surprised. I know I’m very excited for this movie. I loved the book.

I also think it’s a good pairing with the very simple top, this is probably the first time I’ve seen her wear something that made me think the people that gave her that most stylish of the year award weren’t on crack.
