These are some just-released photos of this evening’s Cannes Film Festival premiere of The Paperboy, starring Nicole Kidman, John Cusack, Zac Efron and Matthew McConaughey. I already covered today’s earlier photo call here. For the premiere, Nicole wore this… raspberry (?) Lanvin gown. I’m usually not big on Lanvin – I think the label is so overrated – but this is a lovely dress, and it looks great on Nicole. It’s a much better color for her than that orange-red earlier to day. I’m also loving her hairstyle here – I love a loose updo. My one complaint? I really feel like Nicole tweaked her nips before walking the red carpet. Either that, or it’s really cold in Cannes?
Incidentally, the early reviews of The Paperboy have been BRUTAL. Most critics think it’s a POS, and Nicole Kidman is a total hot mess in it. Vulture carried a spoiler-filled piece about one particular scene in the film – apparently, Zac Efron gets tung by a jellyfish and Nicole’s character urinates all over his chest. I stared at the first and fifth pictures for some seconds because I couldn’t figure out if that was just the fabric folding or if it was a nipple…well, after checking the last ones, I guess John Cusack would better not lean forward too quickly or too close to her — or he may end up losing an eye.

She’s loving her bolt-ons isn’t she, purposely sticking them out, they look fake. Disapointing as she looked more high fashion with small boobs. She sure is she trying hard to be sexy lately. Nice looking woman no doubt, but she has never been considered a sex symbol or sexy whatsover as far I know. Not sure why she is going for that sexy image now. When I think of sexy I NEVER EVER think “Nicole Kidman”. Even with the nips showing, she is still not what you would call sexy.

I think Nic feels threatened by Keith’s stellar success here on The Voice Australia. Audiences and the public can’t get enough of him. He is doing interviews with questions being asked which solely relate to him – he’s not just “Nicole’s husband” anymore. He, Seal and Joel are kicking goals big time over here. Nic has had to pay a bit more attention to her looks and styling to try and stay relevant. She made a silly quote in a big mag here saying that she’s more or less happy to be just known as Keith’s wife…she must be regretting that now.

I won’t see her in any films. She got into the acting business because she is beautiful, there is no real talent there. She seems frozen in most performances, and gives off this vibe of “don’t hate me because I’m beautiful”. I have seen her in interviews, and she seems like a nice person, though. I think everyone is tired of Hollywood size 2 actresses, anyway. If the only thing an actress has to offer, is being a size 2 – well, I know lots of people who wear size 2 and are very thin. Its as common as mud.

i love NK so i will probably see this. i dont out much stock in reviews since all the reviewers praised Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and said it was brilliant and i hated it. it was the worst of the Hp movies, the adaption was terrible and the director ruined it with all of his added in cr*p like talking heads, spending too much time on scenic shots of teh whomping willow which meant that vital parts of the story were cut or rushed through. so my point is- i make my own mind up about movies and books

Pretty dress, not so pretty woman. Sorry I hate the botox look and on her it looks downright scary. When people say Nicole looks good these days, it usually means she looks better than usual. Her usual is awful. She also got implants. Yet she wants us to take her seriously as an actress with all that vanity. She’ll be Norma Desmond in 15 years.

I woke up this morning to some of the weird reviews of “The Paperboy”. Can’t they make up their minds as to whether they like the film or hate it? One says its an instant cult movie, another that its the worst of the festival…
This is getting interesting…Most of my fave Kidman movies were booed at festival namely “Dogville” and “Birth”.
Well,she is back….. the Kidman that I like – taking risks and dividing critics and public. LOVE it.

I wonder if T.Cruise is looking at these pictures and wondering what the f*** did he do? I seriously wonder if he regrets leaving her. After “Nic” he lost his fame, the public support and everyone thinks he’s nuts, Katie looks like she’s falling apart.. And Nicole has never seemed happier at home and continues to be a respected actress who has won an Oscar!! It’s pretty incredible how their lives and status got switched after he left her. .
