LOL that Family guy ad is hilarius
And Jessie j can do no wrong.

  2. Courtney says:

Demi more looks more pathetic everyday. Seriously, I hate how she’s looked up to by some women her age for her body and beauty. It’s because she’s insecure about everything!!!!

  3. Kellie says:

Cant file for divorce if you arent legally married.

    • Elise says:

Agree, and also want to add that I don’t think Tommy C. and Katie are legally hitched, either. Anyone else?

    • hazeldazel says:

they never got a marriage license, so there was never a legal marriage. Just a hippy-dippy kaballah wedding ceremony.

  4. marie says:

Oh Demi, you poor pathetic reinvention of the crypt keeper, get a clue.

Eden Wood’s mother is a liar, she wants this even more than little Eden..

I’m still in the beginning of Catching Fire, so I have no clue who Finnick is, maybe I should read faster..

    • the original bellaluna says:

marie – I can tell you if you want, but I don’t want to ruin anything for you. (I wouldn’t tell the whole story, just he’s a fellow victor from a previous games.)

      • marie says:

I’ll get back to you, if I don’t get it read this weekend you’ll have to tell me, cause I wanna know what everyone’s talking about-thanks!

      • the original bellaluna says:

marie – Just lemme know! 🙂

      • ZenB!tch says:

Tell me, I found the books unreadable – well I could check the wiki – that is where I found out how it ends.

That Family Guy ad is funny. It’s better than my method – running up and down the street screaming “Give Justified and Parks and Rec all the Emmys!”

I don’t care about the reviews, I really want to see Snow White. It just looks visually amazing.

Oh Demi. Know when to cut your losses and move on.

  6. the original bellaluna says:

CALLED IT! There’s been talk circulating for years that they were never legally married, but had participated in a Kabbalah commitment ceremony.

  7. A says:

So I saw Snow White and the Huntsman last night. I like Kristen, LOVE Charlize. It was a B in my opinion. The issue wasn’t the acting (which was good from Kristen and Chris, great from Charlize), it was the film itself. It was written by the guy who did Drive, and while that worked well for Drive and I could see it working well for period pieces…it doesn’t work that great here. Seriously, none of the characters really speak that much. I usually read the reviews from Peter Travers from Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter, and Roger Ebert…I have to go with Peter Travers review as being the most accurate. What was awesome about this was that the love story was barely there, it was more about two women kicking ass (two women who barely speak nonetheless). The visuals were amazing though, and I liked the ending quite a bit. I do think some of the criticism is kind of wrong though-it seems like a lot of the criticism has to do with people who just don’t like straight up fantasy that doesn’t have a deeper meaning (like Game of Thrones has a deeper meaning). Some of the weird criticism I’ve read is that Charlize is too screechy (she’s a goddamn fantasy villain, that’s the point) or that Kristen is too skinny/little to be convincing and depressing and that Chris was dirty/depressing/not appealing. One critic said something along the lines of that you are supposed to think Snow White has birds chirping on her hands. WTF. Clearly, that was not what that film was going for…so I think the issue was that some critics had that Disney vision still in their head when they saw it. Chris was not supposed to be a prince charming or typical romantic hero, so that was stupid that people were bitching that he wasn’t appealing in a romantic way…Again, I think a lot of the critics were thinking Disney there too when judging Chris.

    • Orange Cone says:

thanks. I’m seeing it either way, but I’m thinking youre right about the reviews expecting it to be some Disney adaptation… glad to hear it’s not.

    • ZenB!tch says:

I’m seeing it because it looks good and I like Charlize and Chris. My only issue with Kristen is she isn’t pretty enough. How can Charlize see her as threatening to her “fairest of them all” schtick? I don’t care if Snow is Disney Snow or St Joan of Snow. I just expect her to be at least as pretty as the evil queen.

That said, I just saw Mirror Mirror which I hated and even though Snow was a lot prettier than Julia (who isn’t?) she looked like a child which made it creepy.

      • A says:

I really like Chris too. I remember back in a film studies class being told that the only critics who really carry weight are those at The NY Times, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, …sometimes The LA Times, Roger Ebert, and Rolling Stone. That was very apparent in reading those reviews versus a handful of others. Some of the other reviews with the non major critics, for blogs and even some other newspapers, made these weird digs about Thor and Bella, etc. Obviously, they were not going into the film and viewing it objectively. It kind of sucks, as I hope people don’t pigeonhole Chris as Thor for the rest of his career. That said, those major critics I mentioned (NY Times, etc) didn’t make any of the Thor cracks, etc.

    • A says:

      @Orange Cone, @ZenB!tch
I actually liked it quite a bit and would recommend it…It’s great for girls, as it has two strong female leads, so I’m glad that it seems to be doing pretty good at the box office. I realized my earlier post was a bit negative. It’s very clear early on that the beauty thing isn’t your traditional telling…Charlize’s beauty isn’t exactly natural in the film, and the mirror is talking about inner beauty…also, there is a really strange psycho sexual element to the mirror and Charlize/Kristen’s relationship. I do agree though that no actresses comes close to Charlize or Angelina in terms of being traditionally beautiful.

  8. Katie says:

Sigh. I love Henry Cavill. He’s perfect.
I am NOT on board for armie hammer to play finnick. He’s not complex and complicated enough.

    • ZenB!tch says:

I have no idea what Finnick is like since I find the HG books unreadable but I hated Armie in Mirror Mirror. He looks like John James from Dynasty – including the 80s hair and that is not something I thought was hot at 15 or at 40 or anytime between 1985 and now.

  9. Katie says:

Also Garrett hedlund and Taylor kitsch are horrid choices. It’s like these casting people haven’t even read the book. Or they didn’t get it at all. Finnick is seething and complicated. He’s not just a pretty man with a nice body. There much much more to him than meets the eye.

    • the original bellaluna says:

Have you seen Four Brothers? Garrett was “Cracker Jack” in that movie. MUCH better basis of judgement than Tron, IMHO. He could totally do it.

But I’m still on Team Jesse (Williams).

    • ZenB!tch says:

I got through the first book and I don’t like the casting of Peeta at all. I pictured taller and less Brian Adams

Isn’t Taylor Kitsch “John Carter from Mars” as much as that tanked I don’t think he will get what seems to be a larger role.

  10. Lyssie says:

Damn, I was hoping for a full post about the new Bourne trailer. I love me some Renner.

I’m still holding my breath for Ryan Kwanten as Finnick, but that’s a pipe dream. Armie will be fine, but I don’t know if he has the right edge.

    • A says:

OMG that is such a good idea. I wish Jesse Williams or Ryan would be Finnick. Of course, it’s going to go to another white dude. Bah.

      • Lyssie says:

Ooh, I like Jesse Williams for the role! I hadn’t even thought of him. He would be PERFECT!

  11. A says:

Armie won’t do Finnick. Lainey had a good explanation why…he just doesn’t “need it” and the only reason he may do it is for fun. Jennifer Lawrence, as talented as she is, needed THG and XMen. Nobody really knew who she was and she was stuck doing crappy horror films after Winter’s Bone until she started landing big roles…After XMen, she got cast in a David O. Russell film. Sometimes, you just need that name recognition even if you are talented. Armie is going to be in the Lone Ranger…He doesn’t need that name recognition, even if he is 1/4 as talented as Jennifer Lawrence.

    • ZenB!tch says:

He bought himself a career or his grandfather or great-grandfather or whomever that feisty little old guy who used to pop up all over local news in LA is in relation to Armie.

      • A says:

His grandfather was an oil billionaire. That said, I don’t think he will do this film. Armie is not the greatest actor in the world imo, but he has mainstream recognition somewhat and it will much bigger when Lone Ranger comes out. Garrett, on the other, hand, is getting great reviews for On The Road and will be in an upcoming Coen Brothers film…yet he has less name recognition because he does less “commercial” films. So I see Garrett agreeing to the role…it sucks, cause I wish they would add some diversity to the film. The descriptions were so vague in the novels, that they could have made either Katniss or Gale a person of color. Yet both ended up being white. I would love for at least one of the main characters to be a minority…It pissed me off how they downplayed Rue and Thresh in the film also.

  12. Aiobhan says:

Leprechaun is the must see for 2013! So excited. Please note the sarcasm.

Really!!! There are no words for how much hollywood sucks at creating anything new. They are at the point where they are regurgitating their own crap.

  13. Lisa says:

Somebody stop Eden Wood’s mother. Please.

  14. The Original Mia says:

Bourne Legacy looks so good. I am seriously lusting after Renner.

  15. ZenB!tch says:

I may see this Bourne series. I can’t think Renner is hot, too tiny and he lives with his “business partner” – that puts him in the “friends not lovers” category right next to Bradley Cooper living with his mom – but there is something about Renner I LOVE. He seems cool which is better than hot because hot is fleeting.

Matt Damon was neither so I never saw the other Bourne.

At this point if Renner is in it, I will try to see it in a theater. (note to self – rent Hurt Locker)

  16. ZenB!tch says:

Guilty pleasures actors…. “Charming Potato” LMAO.

Who is that writer? S/he is spot on. And to think I was just saying “butter face”

  17. jesstar says:

Nothing against Armie Hammer, he was good in Social Network, but I hope he’s not Finnick. He is just not sexy. At all.

  18. galaxygirl says:
