Mary-Kate Olsen dyed her hair! Right? That’s MK with the dark hair in the black gown, and Ashley is the blonde in the purple dress? Sure. That’s what I’m going with. Anyway, these are new photos of MK and Ashley at last night’s CFDAs, definitely the most low-key event as compared to the Met Gala. Both girls wore their own label, The Row. I hate to admit it, but I kind of like Ashley’s purple gown. It’s nice seeing her in such a beautiful color, and while the gown shows off nothing of her slender figure, I’m imagining this on a pregnant celebrity and I’m liking it. MK’s gown is just meh, though. I do like her as brunette, I have to admit. And the twins still spend too much time on the red carpet posing tit-to-tit. It’s not cute! But MK and Ashley did have a good night – they won the 2012 Womenswear Designers of the Year for The Row. Congrats.
Rachel Zoe, stylist and designer, was also wearing something from her own collection. I hate the dress, but I’m including these photos with the Olsen ladies because I think of Rachel Zoe as an honorary Olsen. All three women are so, so skinny and all of them hide their bodies in these bulky, oversized clothes. I’m not saying that ALL women need to show off their bodies and wear bandage dresses. I’m not saying that at all. But this oversized hobo-chic look has run its course. Buy some clothes that fit, for the love of God. And considering all of these women are “designers” – surely they can “design” something that fits?

They’ve both had surgery. Ashley’s eyes have always been slightly rounder. That’s how I used to tell them apart.

I’m really glad you pointed that out because I was like “WTF happened to her nose??” Maybe she did it to finally differentiate herself fro her sister. And is the brown hair the favorite star tactic of distracting from surgery with something more blatant and innocuous? I don’t get beautiful people taking fine features and ruining them!!!!

Def looks like she did something to her nose, but maybe that’s it. The nose can change a face so drastically and they are very young still so if they’ve had other stuff done I don’t think I’d notice.

I still don’t think MK has had work done – it’s just that God-awful posing/grimace thing she does with her mouth that makes her nostrils appears smaller and her nose flatter. If they’re fraternal twins it makes even more sense that they don’t look alike.

Unlike the fly, they wouldn’t be landing on any food. These three women are scary skinny and they don’t want anyone to know it so they wear baggy clothes to camoflage that fact. Many anorexics do the same thing. Not saying they are anorexic (I know one of the Olsen’s was), but they are all very, very thin.

their weight has been back to normal for the past few years, which also contributes to looking better. i applaud them for overcoming their eating disorders. although i can’t help but think they only did after they had to get face fillers at the age of 21… that wasn’t a pretty sight at all…

The line isn’t that blatant…but all three of these women are consistently underweight. Mary Late has received treatment for anorexia. One of the warning signs/symptoms of body dismorphia or other issues is underweight women camouflaging their size by wearing baggy clothing.
That doesn’t mean all modest wome m are anorexic or that all lady-bits-baring women are super confident. It’s just an observation of these particular women- especially the Olsens, even more especially Mary Kate- and the way they usually dress vs. what that sometimes signifies.

My how time flies. I remember them as interchangeable little average looking babies on some milquetoast 80′s sitcom Now look at them! I can’t believe they are now interchangeable 40 somethings. Can someone explain The Row to me? I’ve never seen their clothes on anyone besides the Grey Garden Twins and they look basic and barely designed. Besides the price do they have anything to recommend?
And god how I hate Rachel Zoe. I remember her as a guest on the old Fashion Police with Joan Rivers in the 90s and she was an awful bitch. This was before she became a household name stylist so I can’t imagine how awufl she is now.

One of the things I love about the Olsen’s style, they don’t feel compelled to wear tight, formfitting clothing. I don’t know why every young woman is expected to wear Herve Leger bandage dresses and show off their body? What is wrong with being modest?

I don’t mean to be rude and ageist, but has anyone else ever noticed how OLD Rachel Zoe looks? She’s supposed to be 40ish, but her face is so wrinkly and parched looking all the time. She looks about 65! Does anyone know why this is??? Is it from being too skinny? She has to be anorexic or have some sort of eating issues. For someone who is supposedly 40ish, there is no way one can be that naturally skinny. I’m 28, exercise, and have a good metabolism, and I’m no where near as thin as she is!

I think it is from being underweight her whole adult life. I’ve noticed women get deep lines once they hit 30 if they are too thin. Jennifer Hudson is another one with deep lines around her mouth now.

All three of them are wearing dresses at least one size, if not more, too large. It’s a shame because it’s a line that truly fits well, and on them the dresses look baggie and dwarf them. How can they of all people not get the right size, in their own line, and not have plenty of time for exquisite tailoring? Are you kidding me? I bet on the right size woman, who is over 5 feet tall that black dress is nothing short of stunning on – yanno if it fit the wearer. Unreal.

Geesh! Why is everyone denying that Mary Kate had sugery? Look at her face between 2007 up until now, she messed her face up. She admited she hated her face on an 48 hours interview. Her cheek are sinking in too, it looks like she has cheek implants too. What will it take for people to see shes had surgery? In a minute she wont have a nose lol

I am only three years older than them and easily look younger. I sometimes watch Full House reruns (don’t judge me) and they were so cute back then. It’s so sad to see the pressure get to MK to the point that she’s gotten surgery. I’ve been able to tell the difference for years, but whatever MK has done ages her into her thirties.
As for their attire, that color looks great on Ash. MK should lay off the black. Seriously.
