I feel like no one really cares enough about Michelle Williams and Jason Segel! Commenter reaction towards this couple has become dangerously subdued. Is it because all of you are simply happy for Michelle, happy that she’s found a seemingly decent, solid dude? Is it because there doesn’t seem to be much drama – good or bad – coming out the relationship? I don’t even know.
Anyway, these are new photos of Michelle and Jason on Monday in Los Feliz. Fame/Flynet says they dropped Matilda off at day camp and then went to breakfast with some friends. This nice little photo op comes on the heels of Jason, Michelle and Matilda’s outing to Magic Castle over the weekend. Incidentally, that Radar story about Jason “reaching out” to Heath Ledger’s family is still bugging me. I really think Radar got it totally and completely wrong, or at least that’s what I hope. Gossip Cop claims that “a source close to” Michelle and Jason said that the Radar story was a fabrication, and that the Ledgers already spend time with Matilda, so there was no need for Jason to “heal the breach”.
Also – earlier this month, the tabloids were claiming that Michelle liked that Jason was a little bit chubby and furry, but he’s looking pretty svelte and de-furred in these photos, isn’t he? Did Michelle put him on a diet? Or is he doing it for a new role or something?
PS… the placement of her shirtdress buttons is making me uncomfortable.

She’s definitely got a type. Jason might not be a “handsome” as Heath was, but they both big blonde dudes with gentle dispositions. Unfortunately, HL had a drug problem.
I think they look great together – I love that they both look equally irritated to get papped.
She looks great these days. I love her hair color/cut, her cute little dress and her sandals. Not sure what you meant about the button….?

ITA. Jason needs to lose weight, shave, and quit borrowing his grandpa’s Brylcreem and clothing. It’s like he’s going out of his way to be as unattractive as possible.

She seems so weak! grasping onto his arm and shielding herself while he’s left to look at the people taking pictures and shielding her…
that schtick of hers is getting old. Stand up woman! you’re not broken or fragile, take charge, be confident for goodness sake…
also, there was a blip on here before saying that ‘she loved him chubby’, now someone is saying shes ‘making him lose the weight’…proof that nothing you read has any base in reality most likely…

I just feel like most of the stories about these two seem very fabricated, perhaps because there isn’t any real drama and the tabloids have to make something up because they’re a new couple. So I often don’t feel like commenting on those stories. But I still care!

Yeah, I don’t get that housecoat thing at all. I’m a huge fan of this girl but I just can’t get down with her casual style. I think her red carpet looks are much much more interesting.

I’m thinking your grandmothers’ house dresses would have been somewhat LONGER! I think that’s what’s a bit much about her dress. I like it but agree a crotch skimming dress should not have any vent or slit (or similar) at the front or back. It’s on the verge of being TMI.

I agree with the above statements that he probably is just taking better care of himself because he’s happy, and also wants to be attractive for his woman. He prob feels like he hit the jackpot with Michelle and thinks she’s the most beautiful woman in the world and wants to keep her!

I really want them to be happy. However, it’s hard for me to overlook the very, very weird, skeevy vibe I get from him. There’s just something about that watery, always-looks-like-he’s-about-to-cry smile.

I remember when How I Met Your Mother first came on the air, I had the biggest crush imaginable on Jason Segal. He was *so* incredibly cute the first couple of seasons. Now he looks so skeezy. I still think he’s talented, but he doesn’t do it for me anymore.
For some reason, though, I really like he and Michele together. Maybe because it seems like a grown-up relationship, unlike the string of hooks-ups he’s had previously. Hopefully they’ll make it as a couple!
And not to be mean, but if Michele did get him to lose weight, good for her. He doesn’t need to be super-buff, but he was way overweight before. He needs to get back to his early HIMYM weight/look, which was healthy for him.

I agree about his early years on HIMYM. He was so slim back then!! But we have to keep in mind that its been on the air for 7 years and they’re all aging. It’s weird to watch the old episodes because they all look like kids. He really hasn’t been aging all that well because he doesn’t take care of himself that well. His weight fluctuates a lot for his movie roles and he likes to drink and such.

I’m kind of ambivalent towards Michelle, but I adore Jason as much as I adored Heath when he was alive. I hope they are truly happy together, and that they can be a full-fledged family for Matilda.

I don’t know, she seems really sweet and laid back. Seems like the type to not care if he’s carrying around an extra 10 pounds or so. Besides, if you love someone, that weight shouldn’t matter (unless of course they are just being downright unhealthy).

I think that he’s probably slimming down & cleaning-up for an impending wedding/engagement announcement. I don’t think she’s exactly shaming him into it.
Regarding yesterday’s story… I don’t think there was a breach between Kim & Michelle. I do, however, think that Jason is doing the respectable thing by possibly reaching out to Heath’s family. If things are as serious as they indicate, Jason will be taking over Heath’s role in Matilda’s life & I think it’s just a really sweet thing that (if?) he finds her continued relationship with them to be important, as well.

I’m meh about Michelle… I hate that “I’m a fragile little flower” shtick, it reinforces the image some men have of women.
Also, personally the reason why I don’t care more about them as a couple is that with all this gossip you just don’t know whether it will last. I start paying attention to a couple when they get engaged/have a kid, because it is a tangible commitment. Otherwise it’s just not worth remembering most of the time, barring very famous or weird couples.

I LOVE Jason Segel, he’s so cute and one of my favorite comedic actors. Michelle is a really talented actress too, she was amazing in “My Week with Marilyn” and “Shutter Island”.

Ya know, a lot of celebrities won’t sign just random things for people. Will Ferrell stated as much in an interview. He said that if people actually seemed like genuine fans and had something to sign which was actually in his body of work he would sign it. Otherwise you just look like someone who will sell the signature.

Yea, but I was waiting for the Newsies to sign my Playbill so I wasn’t gonna sell it. Anyways, besides Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jason is the unfriendliest celeb I’ve met. Stamos and Andrew Garfield are the greatest.

I really dont think he lost the weight and cleaned up because she told him to. I feel like Jason is a lot like his character in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” When he is happy in love and feeling good about himself he works out and shaves and takes care of himself. But when he’s having a tough time he gets a little lax and lazy. He totally projects his interior feelings onto his exterior appearance. We’re just seeing him in love and succeeding in his professional life as well.
