Josh Brolin in NOLA, shirtless and smoking a cigarette: would you hit it?

These are photos of Josh Brolin in New Orleans yesterday, He was shirtless, wandering around outside, smoking a cigarette. Apparently, he was on a break from filming Oldboy with Spike Lee – I only know about the film because I’ve seen and read a lot of stuff about how the Korean original was, like, the best horror/suspense film ever. A lot of people have been critical of the idea that the film is getting a long-gestating American remake too, but Spike Lee is directing, and the cast includes Josh, Samuel L. Jackson, Lizzie Olsen and Sharlto Copley.

But none of that is the point of this post. The point is: would you hit it? I’ll admit that I find Josh Brolin attractive, even with those significant caveats. I get that his personality might not be all that awesome. But this is about how he looks. Just judging him on his face… I would hit it. He’s an attractive man. His body is… eh. I thought he was in better shape than this? Maybe he gained some weight for the character he’s playing? The gut and the way he’s wearing his pants are NOT good.

Seeing as how I already confessed to still being somewhat attracted to Julian Assange (I am, God help me), I feel like this is the day I progressively come to terms with the fact that I’m nonsensically attracted to douches and a—holes.

with a shovel.. not my taste

  2. the original bellaluna says:

NO. He beats; he cheats; and he smokes. PASS.

  3. Jennika says:

I used to think he was hot, but then I noticed he has really short arms on SNL. Now that’s all I can see

    • Amy says:

His arms (and legs, too, in that last photo) do look really short! I never noticed until now!

    • Cirque28 says:

Agreed. Stubbs has the arms and legs of a hobbit.

You’d think being Diane Lane would inoculate you against winding up with a stumpy wife-beating thug, but apparently it does not.

(I know, I know, everyone. Abuse is present in all segments of society. But still… Diane Lane is seriously married to THAT.)

  4. TheOriginalKitten says:

I love him as an actor but I find him reprehensible as a person.

The Diane Lane beating story still haunts me….

    I wish he wasn’t such a douche because he’s very talented 🙁

    • carrie says:

i only remember Diane Lane called the police and when the police came to their home, she said it was an error

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

He was arrested for domestic violence. I guess that’s the part that stuck with me.

If there wasn’t any proof and it was an “error” on her part, would the cops really arrest and book him?
Considering celebrities get away with almost anything, I doubt it..

Feel free to refute this- I don’t want to dislike him so I’d be happy if someone could change my mind. As I said, I think he’s a phenomenal actor…

  5. Chatcat says:

I might take a drag. It would depend if I was sober or not.

  6. dooliloo says:

Oldboy isn’t a horror movie, it’s a violent drama mystery thriller.
Brolin no. He is an amazing actor I give that to him, but the rest is no no and no.

    • carrie says:

      +1

    • Would Vincent Cassell Wear This? says:

I’m glad Brolin got the Oldboy gig. As a fan of the original I was horrified when I heard Will Smith was attached to it.

      • dooliloo says:

Ah? Nothing again Will Smith he’s a decent actor but indeed it’d have been odd and yet who knows… He could’ve gotten out of his comfort zone of acting range, action hero action hero… Oh well still Brolin is the good choice for it.

  7. Minnie says:

Would hit it with a freaking bat! Yuck!

  8. JudyK says:

    He looks like a THUG. Wouldn’t hit him w/ a 10′ pole.

His dad, on the other hand, watch out Barbra…OMG…he has to be the sexiest man in the world. How he ever produced this POS is beyond me.

  9. Nan209 says:

Well, when he did Goonies I would not have called him attractive, age helped a lot. I am weirdly attracted to him too. He’s a good actor who plays complicated characters rather well, maybe a little too well because it seems those characters follow him off screen. I think my attraction to him is partly because he’s a Hollywood oddity…masculine looking ( not even a hint of the metrosexual look that has become the standard ). I get the feeling that if he were hairy he’d never even consider man-scaping and I guess that is what I find attractive…from an arms length.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Really? I would have gone there when he was in Goonies…but now? Hell no

      • Brown says:

^^same here. Yes to Goonies Brolin, no to present Brolin.

      • Nan209 says:

Well, at the time of Goonies I was into Sean Astin, i was 11, and Brolin looked way more thuggish to me ( maybe it was the bandana and the weights and the fact that I was 11).

    • victoria says:

as Kaiser points out her attraction to douches, we share that in common… YES I WOULD and throw his ass out hahahaha. It’s called a one night stand for a reason…
He’s hot! He’s manly and rugged, something that Hollywood is seriously lacking with all the metrosexual pretty boys.

  10. Jackie O says:

ya, this guy screams asshole and douche.

i think it may be time for an intervention, kaiser.

  11. RobN says:

Soft, doughy middle aged guy who hits women? No thanks.

  12. bea says:

He’s got a super-manly vibe. Attractive but he’d have to be a total sweetheart (which it doesn’t seem like) to be totally hot due to his “I cold kill you with my bare hands” body.

  13. S.Joy says:

Isn’t he abusive??? The comments should be the same as they are on a Chris Brown post…. amazing how certain people are given a pass for their behavior.

  14. Christine says:

Saw him in a cafe in the south of France once. He is as big of an a–hole as I thought he was. Would NOT hit it.

  15. lucy2 says:

I think he’s really talented and that ups the attractiveness for me, but other than that and with all the not so nice stuff…no.

  16. Bluedog says:

What on earth could possibly be attractive about a wife beater? Cannot stand this man. Or should I say, “man”? Because real men don’t hit.

  17. Happy21 says:

Totally. Maybe just once but I would 🙂

  18. Melanie says:

    No thanks….I’ll pass.

  19. Amandahugandkiss says:

I’m getting a distinct Randy-from-Trailer-Park-Boys flavour of his look.

  20. stellalovejoydiver says:

He´s handsome and talented, would I hit him? Yeah, like he hit Jessica Lange, he´s a fucking asshole.

  21. Kaiser says:

For all of those claiming to hate him because “he’s a wifebeater” – an FYI: Diane said he didn’t hit her, and she didn’t press charges, and she said it was all a misunderstanding. It’s not really comparable to the Chris Brown thing at all.

  22. k says:

Physically abused women sometimes change their stories to keep the peace in the family.

  23. A says:

He’s a good looking man, but a big no because there’s a 99% chance he beat up Diane Lane. She called the cops in the first place, which is why I buy that he actually did hit her. It’s not like a disgruntled neighbor called, etc. Lots of abused women can’t bring themselves to press charges against their abusers.

Oldboy is such a disturbing movie, I’m surprised they are going to remake it. It’s interesting how Elizabeth Olsen keeps getting films. Mary Martha May Marlene had some serious indie cred, but she’s had like four or five indies that have come out after that which have gone straight to VOD or bombed horribly.

  24. Maria_Spain says:

    ehm… I dont know why… but.. yes i would :'(

  25. Tiffany says:

They are redoing Oldboy. Why, the original was disturbing enough and the ending…..good luck Hollywood if they want to keep the plot of the original. If they change too much of it, what’s the point.

  26. stinky says:

KAISER~!~! If you read Assange’s letter to some teenager he was crushing on, you’ll prolly get grossed out (like me). He had me interested in a weird way too, but to hear him going on & on like Mr. know-it-all to , like, a 17 yr old or something got me over him w/ a quikness. He turned ick to me.

  27. nikko says:

    Yea, I would hit it.

  28. Trashaddict says:

    Eeeew.

  29. LeslieM says:

Not in a million. I always thought he looked like a sleaze bag. Diane Lane could do so much better. She should have dumped him after the domestic violence incident.

  30. Zooyork says:

I think he’s super hot. Have had a huge crush on him since No Country for Old Men.
