These are photos of Taylor Swift at last night’s CMA Awards in Nashville. She’s wearing a Jenny Packham gown… I don’t hate it. It looks very “Taylor Swift” – glittery and feminine and sweet. It’s okay. I dislike her hair, but I’ve gotten used to it. As for Swifty’s appearance at yet another country show… yeah. I don’t think Swifty is very “country” at this point either, but she still has the acceptance of the country community, and she still gets nominated for lots and lots of country awards. Oddly enough, Swifty did not win anything last night. Weird, right? Swifty always wins! Well, she didn’t take anything home but she still wins at life – her new album, Red, is breaking crazy records already. In the first week of sales, Red has already sold 1.2 million copies, the largest first-week sales of any album since 2002.
Meanwhile, this week’s Enquirer had a lengthy story about Taylor’s breakup with Conor Kennedy. According to the Enquirer’s sources, Swifty definitely dumped him and Conor is “just devastated.” Taylor decided to put her career ahead of love, a choice which is something she never sings about. A source says:
“She’s making it appear like Conor did the dumping because she didn’t want to come out looking like the villain. But the bottom line is the poor kid is heartsick over the breakup. He believed they were headed to the altar. He’s still reeling from the suicide of his mom Mary in May and the Kennedys are very concerned his broken heart will take a long time to heal.”
“Although Ethel and Rory Kennedy had embraced Taylor, she didn’t like the conflict with Maria Shriver, Carolin Kennedy and some other members of the family. It was ruining her goody-goody image and became another reason she wanted out of the relationship.”
“Taylor took advantage of Conor at a time when he was most vulnerable. Not that they’ve broken up, Conor is a wreck. He’s trying to forget about Taylor. Meanwhile, she’s already put him out of her mind and is concentrating on selling her latest record.”

I do think this scenario might be more likely, although Star Magazine’s version claims the exact opposite. Star says Conor dumped Taylor because he finally found out that she was fooling around with Patrick Schwarzenegger, Conor’s cousin. Eh. I think the Enquirer’s story is probably the more reasonable explanation.

I don’t care either way about Taylor Swift – don’t love her or hate her – but I wish she would be a bit more adventurous with her style. She always wears the same kind of dress, long and sparkly and in soft colors or nude tones, and it’s just…yawn.

Oh – it would be a beautiful wedding dress! Would you have left the floral embellishments and if so, would you have made them white or another color? I might have done them in a very pale shade of pink or blue… possibly even lavender and then picked up a bolder form of that color in the bouquet.

Cute, yes. I won’t be able to find her sexy until she stops acting like (and dating) teens. When she grows up a little, perhaps she will be sexy.

I think she is very pretty. I like her style & choices in fashion. However, I have always thought she was strangely asexual. A cold fish. No power of attraction.
I htiink she’s ugly on so many levels- i think her face is in the same boat as leann rimes, she can’t sing outside a studio, she lets her management team put her dating contracts and when she dates anybody, she has no sense of decorum. She has every right to write songs about them, but she is known for dating and dumping almost as much as her music. I really dislike her.
I think that, if her fluffy, cutesy, youth-driven persona is a marketing angle – then her business savvy could make her sexy.
But in photos and written interviews where she’s in character – no, her character is not sexy.
So she’s going to write an apology song called ‘Back to october/november” for Connor?
Well I kind of like until I read Lemonade’s post about it looking like herpes and now that’s all I can see!!! Seriously though does anyone buy this girl’s sweet, innocent act, she get’s on my last nerve.

Behind the sparkles and glitter, I have no problem in believing that Shifty has a very nasty, vindictive streak in her; she jumps on an 18 year old boy (emphasis on the ‘boy’) who’s just lost his mother and whisks him away for romantic weekends of shagging and private planes then throws him by the wayside?
Ouch.
I dont know why some try to make her out to be a villain that took a small child under her wing without his permission. He dated her, is 18….yes he lost his mother and that is certainly very tragic. But it’s not like she was the swindling, vindictive, conniving person that was out to get young prey. I think infantalizing him is a disservice to both parties…and pointless.
Herpes looks like sparkly flowers? Had no idea….lol.

I love the dress but can’t stand her. The pattern on the dress reminds me of Madonna’s Cannes more casual gown materialwise.
I watched part of the CMAs last night and caught Carrie Underwood’s performance (Wow, mindblowing perfection). What effortless pipes and such a catchy rock/country/pop song and can’t believe she performed that hard of a song rangewise live so effortlessly.
Then I saw Vince Gilbert play guitar and sing a little along with Kelly Clarkson’s song. Kelly’s voice was so stunning. I love her voice. She’s looking great. Love is agreeing with her. (Dating Reba McIntyre’s son or stepson (not sure which).
Two great performances.

Not surprised Taylor didn’t win Entertainer of the Year this time. In the eligibility period, she just went on tour in Australia and recorded her album.
I’d guess the breakup was mutual, as Us Weekly reported. It was totally impractical – she’s working non-stop until Christmas doing album promotion and then she’ll be preparing for 18 months of touring. In reality, I think she prioritizes her career over romances.
I guess I can see her not winning Entertainer of the Year, this year, given that it was a transition year for her into the new album, but Blake Shelton? He has The Voice but the guy maybe plays a dozen county fairs a year and he can’t sell those out.
I couldnt believe that Blake won. Hes a great artist but I think it should have gone to Aldean who actually had a great year. Outside of the Voice, I havent heard anything from Shelton.

That red lipstick appears to be about a quarter of an inch outside of her natural lip line…not good. Had to be awful in person.

Dress is nice for a girl her height. Her hair is childish. I feel bad for that boy, but he should have seen this coming. BUT…she did buy a house right by his g’ma! That seems kinda permanent to me too. She must be very flighty, like a fly that can’t land and just keeps moving and provoking anger. I think she may have emotional issues and doesn’t really know how to proceed with a relationship. I think she’s releived when she gets dumped, so she did it herself this time. She can’t stay anywhere very long. Something is wrong with her. She needs to stay single till she’s about 35 or older & learns how to care for others.

I agree Kate, when she first came out i thought she was harmless fluff, but she and her management team really have become mercenary and manipulative (examine the numerous and endless ways they are marketing this latest piece of crap; including exploiting a teenager for headlines).
How many times does it have to be repeated this kid’s mother committed suicide a few months before shifty began the canoodling. Coincidence and her new cd was due out in the fall.

Did anyone see where Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood teased Swifty about the break-up? The audience laughted but the camera didn’t show her reaction. I really didn’t think they’d go there. They sure wouldn’t if it had been a movie awards show.
I saw the CMA show last night. Right, Taylor didn’t win, but the female winner got on stage and pushed Taylor’s album and said it was amazing…personally, I like Taylor, but yes, I am getting tired of the red lipstick, the bangs and the red dresses. At least in this pic above, it appears that her more yellowy colored hair has more white in it now, which I prefer.
Love her or hate her, she make country popular again. Reba and George Strait flat out said that country music was a dying genre, and like Shania Twain had done before her, she brought it back by mixing it with pop and it paid off. She deserves every award she has won.

As for her lack of sexy, she is probably following the industry rule that female country singers should not be overtly sexy. I find it refreshing to see a celeb that is more demure in her clothing choices (even if it’s purely for marketing).
About the list of exes, she should use her 20’s to date around which means having had several boyfriends is age appropriate.
I think the dress looks nice. She wears a lot of vintage clothes and I love them! She has brought country into the mainstream and probably would have won The Entertainer of the Year or what ever that award was if she had released the album and toured with it earlier.
