The only place to go was up! After Jessica Biel’s disastrous, Golden-Girls-esque turn at the NY premiere of Hitchcock, practically anything would be better. So Jessica decided to go for this black Gucci gown at last night’s LA premiere. I don’t hate it. I don’t love it, either, but it’s definitely an improvement. I guess the dress is supposed to look like a stingray? Those ruffles are supposed to position themselves to make a woman look “wider” in the bust and shoulders? Sure. As for Jessica’s styling… I don’t hate it either. I think her hair is too fussy, but I’m glad that it’s up and we’re not being assaulted by her truly awful and unflattering bangs. She’s a pretty girl when she doesn’t stylistically c—kblock herself.
And of course Dame Helen Mirren looked awesome! Her Dolce & Gabbana isn’t my favorite either, but Helen has a stylist who knows what they’re doing, and for my money, she has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. Helen’s “date” was her nephew, Felix Mirren. Isn’t Felix the bomb? Toni Collette looks awesome! I don’t know who she’s wearing – it looks kind of Narciso Rodriguez-esque, but who knows? And Jamie Lee Curtis was also at the LA premiere, to support her late mother Janet Leigh (played by Scarlett Johansson in the film – ScarJo was not at the premiere).

I really like that dress Jessica is wearing. But I don’t particularly like it on her. She has a great body, but she is so athletically build that the dress doesn’t look good to me when she turns to the side and you see the muscle tone. She reminds me of a bodybuilder.
Not crazy about the hair either, but nice that she tried something different.
Toni dress is very nice but her face looks so different. I guess it is the weight loss but it looks so sharp, and she looks so over tanned.
I love Helen.. not the dress, but she looks great.. and how wonderful that she can bring her nephew on the red carpet and enjoy the night.. because she won’t be accused of pimping the kid for PR or to sell the movie. How funny that is. He is a cute kid, and looks happy.

Helen Mirren can do no wrong! And that coral color suits Toni’s blond hair and she looks really good. But Jessica, *sigh, well it’s better than the jumpsuit she wore last time. I don’t hate the dress but it only looks good from one angle (the back). From the front the ruffles look like lady parts, ew! She seriously needs a new stylist.

This looks like the black version of the seafoam side-boob dress Rosie Huntington-W wore recently. Maybe its ruffles are wider or pinned wider to prevent so much side boobage? Either way, she needs a stylist. Please get one!

Er, ok, perhaps I am in the minority, but I think this looks like the grandma’s premiere.
Jamie Lee would be a win except for those HORRIBLE shoes. Helen Mirren’s dress is a little too drape-looking for my taste. Mrs. Timberlake looks awful as always. No surprise there. She really needs to get herself a better stylist (not her husband; sometimes I think he intentionally sends her out looking badly so he’ll always look better in comparison).

I guess this is somewhat of an improvement in the sense that it’s a simpler style than she has been wearing as of late. She just really has to stay away from anything with ruffles or any overtly feminine dress. Her body is amazing but it really is so muscular that the frilly dresses looks out of place on her. It may be boring, but she should take the Aniston route and stick to a simpler style-much more flattering on someone with her physique.

Yes!! I totally agree. She needs something simple, with nice clean lines and a solid color. Let her body be the focus. Otherwise she just looks stuffed into these ultra feminine gowns. Her energy is too masculine for jt, so she feels the need to gussy up, perhaps?

Sorry Jessica Biel, you can’t pull anything off. Worst style in Hollywood, almost as bad as Katie Holmes. It’s like she has no idea what is attractive or what looks good on her. She will always be a bumpkin to me and trying to pull of haute couture is ridiculous on her part.At least she’s smiling and not doing the pouty squint on the red carpet. She and Ginnifer Goodwin should walk down a red carpet together sometimes so they can squint and frown seriously for all of the cameras.

Jamie Lee is so owning that dress. She and Helen are both great bad-ass broads which is what I love. So comfortable in their skins and what they do. Lovely, just lovely. I wish I could have a glass of tea or something with these two. There are not a handful of people in HW I would say that about.
