God bless Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Or should I say, bless their breakup. I could eat this rich buffet of Twihard Dramz for weeks. I’ve been wondering why the tabloids hadn’t been issuing multiple stories a day about the Robsten Breakup, and now I know why – they were saving all of the drama for this week’s tabloids. *LaineyGossip just did an epic post on what’s happening behind-the-scenes with the Robsten breakup and how they’re both playing it in the media. Go here to read her take. The basic gist is that Rob has been different ever since Kristen cheated on him and that he’s been playing the “less availability” game while Kristen has been trying to “prove” herself to him ever since. There’s also drama about Kristen wanting to party and have fun and be a burned-out child actor and Rob is over it, although he likes to party too. It’s an interesting piece.
*The Sun says that Rupert Sanders is still in the picture enough to text Kristen, and Rob found some of Rupert’s texts on his birthday and that was the final straw. A source claims Rob is “extremely angry and upset. No matter how many times she calls or texts, friends say he’s had enough. After everything that happened and the hurt she caused, he’s furious she’d be back in touch with him, even if she is saying it’s completely innocent… It does look like this time it’s over for good. He simply can’t trust her.”
* Hollywood Life’s insider claims Rob had threatened to move out before and Kristen never took him seriously: “I don’t think Kristen took Rob seriously when he threatened to move out, but apparently he wasn’t kidding… Rob has not moved out of Kristen’s house 100%. He still has some stuff there. They pretty much haven’t seen each other since Saturday… Rob really wants to focus on his next movie project now and needs time to just get away from all of the drama. Right now work is his priority.”
*The Robsten breakup takes the cover of Us Weekly this week and Lainey says that Us Weekly’s sources claim: “Usually they would have a Twilight film to bring them back together,” but now that Twilight is over, it’s really the end: “They both have projects that will take them away from each other for months. If he can’t trust her, it’s impossible.”
Would you like my take on all of this drama? I’ll admit it, I’m more forgiving of Rob and if I have to choose a side, I’m Team Sparkles. I think he’s basically a good guy (bordering on a total doormat) and I think he genuinely loved her. I think he had every right to be angry with her last year and I hoped that he would dump her then because… seriously, what’s the point of working through those issues when you know both of you aren’t in it for the long haul? At some point someone has to step up and say “Let’s be real about this. It isn’t working.” And I think that’s what Rob just did, at long last.
…But I do think there’s more drama to come. Because at the end of the day, I do think there was a tipping point, a straw that broke the Twihard Camel’s back. Did Rob find out that Kristen is still in contact with Rupert Sanders? Or did something else happen? We’ll soon find out.

Yup. The way he came running back to LA from NYC after the valet/Rupert-look-alike pictures came out spoke loads. It all went downhill after that.
Well either that or the contract ran out. Breaking up on the 6th month day after the last Twilight movie seems shady.
Please stop with that contract s**t. It makes you sound like an idiot. BD2 sold with or without Robsten. It made over 800 million dollars and the dvd has sold almost 100 million with or without Robsten. Rob got tired of her s**t and decided he rather concentrate on his up coming movies instead of her. Now, they both can date whomever they want. Good.
Definitely. I mean the whole BD2 publicity would have been even more awkward if Rob hadn’t agreed to play nice and be professional.
Look at how many Robsten sites closed after RupSten happened last summer. Scummit couldn’t take the risk of fans being disenchanted by Edward & Bella, so Rob stepped up and saved her from the bad publicity. He really did take some criticism too. Being called a doormat and weak must have hurt, but he’s the winner now. Head held high, integrity intact, dogs in the car…freedom!
The amount of times she’s tried to grab his hand has just got embarrassing. Poor guy. Glad he’s free now.

I think they had a relationship that was more PR than anything else. It was probably an “open” arangement, so when KStew minnicoopered Rup, she wasn’t really cheating (on Rob that is, Liberty that’s a different story).

Tend to agree. Probably an open arrangement, etc. I know it’s unfair and anti-feminist or whatever people want to call it, but I’m still Team Sparkles and it’s almost entirely because KStew’s attitude is so dour and too-cool-for-school. I agree. I’ve never really believed this relationship to be anything but a PR arrangement between two people who were really good friends. Didn’t Lainey used to claim back in the beginning the exact same thing? Yet she changed her tune quickly enough (because of $$$ from the studio, I’m sure). Oh, Lainey is not in tight with Summit. She trashes them every chance she gets. And she hasn’t been invited to a Twilight promo event since the first movie. She is not in their back pocket, at all.
She changed her tune when she started getting info that something was indeed up between Pattinson and Stewart, back in the early days. She liked Nikki Reed, and I think she started dissing Pattinson when she got info that he’d dumped Reed for Stewart, or was doing them both at the same time, or whatever was going on. That whole story would be far more interesting than what’s going on now, IMO.
I think they started as a PR couple but fell in love then. I also think the last couple of months were just for PR.
Lainey is Team Kristen, it’s almost ridiculous. In her mind Kristen can never do wrong. She’s quick to point out he cheated on her first. Which I doubt, her team would have used that when she screwed up with Sanderson.
I agree with the comments about Lainey she is so Team Kristen it is ridiculous. I love reading Lainey especially when it comes to her dissing on Timberdouche but she can’t report fairly on this one. I also disagree about her column today being epic she said basically nothing just recapped what others are saying. Maybe that really is all anyone knows but would be good if someone got the truth about Rob’s side anyway. IMO it matters not whether their relationship was open or for PR reasons only she embarrassed the heck out of him by that cheating scandal. He looked like a doormat and the world’s biggest p*ssy and just because he finally found his balls and left her doesn’t show he has a backbone. Only time will tell if he really does have a spine.
My favourite thing about this breakup (apart from Free!Rob of course) is how he’s been playing the media. I was reading some Robsten crazies’ tweets and one of them was saying that it didn’t make any sense that he’d move out so publicly!!! I love Rob for packing his stuff in rubbish bags and for calling the paps so his moving out would be splashed all over the internet. I love that he’s not going quietly.

Haha! One of the comments I read blamed one of the magazines for the split. It was something like ‘ I hope you’re happy for your part in their break-up’. They are crazy, but entertaining.
Because they always made a big deal about how unhollywood they are, how honest they are, how real they are, how private they are. So now it’s like, you mean Rob is not above this stuff? He… Lied?? They don’t want to believe it. But there it is.
Personally, I’m all for it. He played nice too long. He deserves to get his side of the story out and his truth, without embarrassing himself with official statements or interviews. In the end, his image is at stake and Kristen already did enough damage being his girlfriend and then cheating on him and then being taken back. None of it was good for Rob.
If she were an attention whore, KStew would have been all over Rpatz during promos and RCs. She would be shopping on Rodeo drive and falling out of clubs on SunsetBlvd. and posting naked selfies on instagram. that is an attention whore darlin’

No, but he certainly knows he’s being followed and they will take photos of everything, especially if they’re outside of his driveway and hers, so without even having to pick up the phone, he knew they were there and he delivered his message pretty clearly, as if other options were not available if he believed so much in privacy. And his people are certainly not staying quiet, so there’s that. He’s not above those games.
I will give him this though – he’s doing it because he’s done with her team controlling the narrative for her benefit. It’s a way to stand up for himself and not be anyone’a puppet, but not because he’s an attention whore like her.

I think that it started out as a f- buddies type of thing, the studio heads found out and thought cha-ching and set the pr bulldogs on it for maximum dollar drainage, so this whole thing could not die a natural end, artificially prolonging the relationship until the end of the franchise.

I’m surprised so many people think their thing was for PR. No way would any studio risk it’s multi-million dollar franchise with that type of nonsense. The relationship ran it’s course and blew up at completely the wrong time for the franchise. Then it became a PR relationship for sure, Rob kept it on life support for the sake of the franchise and maybe to spare KStew some heat and now he is exiting stage left.
I just said this in the other post. The post breakup PR in this is more entertaining than the actual story.
It played out that way I thought it would. His eyes became unclouded last year and once she got tired of playing the good gf then boom, implosion. Anybody who has been in a bad relationship could have predicted it.

Interesting that Lainey resurrects the story of how Sparkles was more than a bit of a cheater. If that’s the case (and the relationship wasn’t in fact “open”), maybe it’s Stewart who needs to push back if she wants some positive press. Of course she’s coming across more and more as another messed up child star so who knows what she’ll do. I don’t like either of them, so I’m just here for the curiousity factor.

About time…glad it’s finally over. I always disliked them as a couple for some odd reason. Here I feel more sorry for Rob as she cheated on him….that’s all.

Of course something happened. Something set him off. He never had the spine to do something so drastic. Something was the boiling point. Because this doesn’t even seem like a normal break up. They were hanging out fine, and then something bad happened that he took his crap and his dogs and left, starting this PR war between them. I would not put past Kristen that she stayed in touch with Rupert. We all know she’s dumb and heartless.

Gossip Cop was so into this, they creeped me out and Hollywood Life just makes everything up as they write (on all their stories actually), so they are hilarious. It is entertaining though–the PR battle is fab.

I read that it was a contractual relationship and that he “took her back” because of their contract which suppose to end sometime in August of this year. But that he was miserable in the relationship and even more so after she “cheated” and that he wanted out of the contract before August hit… And that both parties were working on it…. I guess Rob P won that one.
I’m on board with you and the contract theory. They’ll get “back together” again over the summer and then after August, if it never happens again, we’ll know. If he got out early, I’m glad for him.
You cannot contractually obligate someone to have a romantic relationship and more importantly, why would you? This relationship has been bad news for the franchise from the beginning and the studio just had to deal with it.

Agreed. I think this relationship was part PR and part friendship with some type of contractual arrangement in place. The relationship which probably was more friends with benefits at times, imploded with this Rupert Sanders scandal…Pattinson was basically humiliated despite the fact that the relationship may have been open. Glad it’s done…never bought that this was a romantic, passionate relationship of any kind. I’m also really hoping KStew will just fade away. The fact that he drove away with all of his belongings in trash bags is a fitting ending to this story and relationship.
A fake relationship makes no sense for the studio or the franchise. Also wasn’t Stewart a teen at the start of the movies? They would hardly have a teenager in some sort of romantic contract. This is just pure fantasy and I’m amazed so many people believe it. But I do think a good case can be made for the reconciliation being fake and done for PR.

Im dying to know what really broke them up. They always seemed very protective of each other ( they never said anything bad about each other) now It seems their both trying to make the other person look bad. As for what Lainey posted, if Rob had cheated on her a couple of years ago then why hasnt anyone said anything? Why Did kristens team let her get so much hate when he cheated as well? Doesnt add up. This is what happens when you base your whole life on a couple. A couple you’ve built a fantasy around. A couple who could never possibly live up to your fantasy.
Because when they see plain, daylight pictures of Rob moving out his stuff, that does not compute. So they have to make up another story.

I know it is pointless but I would like to point out to the many non lawyers claiming there is a “relationship contract” that there is, legally speaking, no such thing other than MARRIAGE.
No written, legally binding “relationship” contract in the US could actually exist. First, it would be interpreted by any court as a “personal service” contract the same way as any contract for a performance is interpreted. That means that if one party breaches the contract, the only remedy is money damages. “Specific Performance”–compelling the breaching party to hold up their end and deliver the performance — is illegal because it would constitute personal servitude which is illegal AND unConstitutional. There is no precedent for money damages being awarded for breach of a written relationship contract to my knowledge. Palimony, which involves an IMPLIED contract, may be the only close analogy .
There may be informal understandings between individuals to feign flirtation or relations to promote themselves or their projects, but there can be no such thing law as a “relationship contract” imposed from allegedly omnipotent studios. BTW, the studio system, in which the studios had players under contract and cleaned up their messes & arranged bearding marriages for Rock Hudson etc. died out in the 60s.

I think what they mean as what’s been alluded to many times- of course there is/was no legally enforceable contract re their being a “couple”. However, when Rup-gate hit, you can bet that palms were greased/%ages changed/future movie deals promised to entice Rob to play nice. Now, while can see that scenario, it doesn’t explain the 2 mths or so since the last DVD drop.
On a lighter note, that crack PR team of KS is now putting out that Rob put her through the “wringer”-! Seriously, can’t they just shut up? I wonder if Liberty shared some info with Rob?
There are lots of creative ways to hold people to various deals, including actual legal provisions that govern personal conduct (e.g., showing up for promotion, acting in a professional way, etc.) But you do not need a legally binding contract to get celebs to comply — there is too much at stake for young actors to ignore what is requested of them by the studios and their own PR people. Neither seem old enough, sophisticated enough, or secure enough to be independent about anything.
After her public fauxpology the ball was in his court to make the move. With BD2 coming out I am sure Summit/Lionsgate people would have put a lot of pressure on these two to play nice until dvd release. We are talking monies close to a billion here. Of course he gave in for the sake of that and the hard work put in by thousands who worked on that movie. The fans who loved those movies got to see the franchise come to a close on a happy note. He proved he is a team player after all. This is not just personal any more, its business. Rob is a young upcoming actor. His behavior will be noted by other movie makers. How he stepped up during a crisis to handle the situation will definitely impress the powers that be.
He never truly reconciled with her imo. They played nice and after a decent amount of time had passed he broke it off. He cannot immediately jump ship the day after the dvd came out. You give it some time to make it look authentic enough.
After their Coachella performance he had enough I think.
I agree with you and I can’t believe how many people are suggesting some kind of PR relationship was going on here. Even if you could have a “relationship contract” why would the studio ever want to, this thing is just a can of worms to them. I do think he reconciled with her for PR though, to lower the heat on her and to support the DVD release but I think he chose to do that, no one forced him.
The PR contract has ended. Now can they please both fade away ?
I watched the two of them in their early years and you could see the chemistry and that they really were attracted to each other. The funny thing is that Kristen acted ridiculously immature while Rob was quieter about it, even though he really liked her. I think Kristen liked how into her he was. Just watch old interviews and you will see it; in one, Kristen was acting about 14 and a costar kind of admonished her quietly. I think that Rob was besotted and eventually Kristen was as well, but they’re young. I think Rob was in it for the long haul and would’ve eventually married her, but Kristen has been in monogamous, long-term relationships since her teen years and she seems and seemed restless. She always liked having her cake and eating it, too. Rob is just more mature than she is, and more of a decent guy. I would absolutely believe that Kristen was texting Rupert. This relationship ran its course, but it’s a shame Kristen had to cheat on him and play head games and sell information to the press. She’s quite revolting.
When I read about the Rupert text I couldn’t believe it. I thought she couldn’t be THAT stupid and keep contact with him. (Then again, she cheated on an open road in the middle of LA – aka Pap Central – while she has more than enough money to get a hotel room and do her dirt.) Kristen could have blocked the number, or better yet, change her phone number and give it out to a select few. If this is true, then it explains Rob’s very public moving day. He wants to let the world know he is done with her. The silly break up but still living together story could be a motivator too. So far no denials from Team Stewart about the Rupert text, but it is still doing the Rob is an unforgiving jerk campaign to make Kristen look like the victim. If there’s a damaging text from Rupert, how much would anyone like to bet Rob forwarded it to HIS phone for safekeepping and use it to his advantage if she and the team keep up the smear job? Rob may know her password to her phone.
This looks to be an ugly summer with this keeping up. Taylor Lautner has been named the shoulder Kristen’s crying on. Given past allegations that Kristen cheated on Rob with him, if he’s smart he’d distance himself from Kristen and her public drama with Rob or risk having his own reputation suffer significant damage.

Jennifer Lawrence might have won( an underserved) Oscar, but she isn’t mature at all. She has done the same thimgs as Kirsten except have an affair. Her and Nicholas Hoult were PR probably for X-Men. We did not see any pics of them, and there was news that she ‘dumped’ him, probably for her Oscar campiagn. And she is also the same age as Kristen. Which is 23 or 22 and same with Nicholas Hoult.
RP is now a Dior ambassdor like Jennifer, so maybe they might come out as another PR couple.
Dior has cheapened their brand by hiring Jen and RP.
What? There were lots of pics of Jen and Nick together. They went on vacations together. There are pics of him with her family at their home. They were a very normal, low-key couple. And they’re broken up now and filming together, which kind of kills your PR theory.
