  1. Madmen is a great show and this woman is an absolute idiot - the main thrust is that it’s the 60s, not the 50s as she “thinks”. Thankfully I can’t see them casting her as the writing, production and acting are soooooo far above the norm and she’s SO subpar acting wise. They don’t need a ‘friend’ to boost ratings; she should try the shows that cast Britney and Lohan.

  5. I love Mad Men and don’t want the show ruined with stunt casting. Some shows need it, they don’t.

  6. No… stunt casting for ‘MAD MEN’ please.. we don’t want another ‘Will & Grace’…

  7. I totally agree hmm, I hate when shows reduce themselves to constant guest shots. It makes the show less then what it should and is.. I thought Jennifer was a movie star. she has a hit movie, so why not continue to focus her efforts there. I just think that if she does Mad Men the hype will be about her, and not the excellence of the show.. What a shame… I just say NO. Plus her appearance did not help Dirt or 30 Rock.. She should leave the successful shows alone.. Guest star on a show that needs some help. Survivor anyone or the Apprentice.

  8. Jen is one of the few stars out there that can do both TV and movies. She has hit movies and a hit TV show. I say whatever Jen wants to do she should do it. She is hot property right now and everyone wants her - go Jen!

  9. Susan (the greatest Aniston defender on the planet), it’s not really about what Jennifer wants to do. It’s about the show and Mad Men is a show that is so brilliantly executed week after week without any ridiculously famous guest stars. And last time I checked her guest appearances on 30 Rock and Dirt didn’t exactly do anything for either show. And debra77, how about Celebrity Bachelorette?

  10. NO! I don’t want Mad men to go the celebrity guest route, please just leave the show alone.

  11. Re: Mischa Barton bikini pics - what is the obsession with those nasty headbands that she and Nicole Richie wear? Did ‘Pocahontas-wear’ come into style and I’m just woefully out of touch?

  12. I can’t imagine how she’d fit into that show. It sounds like a terrible idea.

  13. she’s too big for the tv show, she belongs to the big screen but i love to see her on that show.

Anyone else notice her “Speidi” necklace?

    She’s such a media whore!

  16. The report calls her 30-Rock guest stint a “cameo,” which it totally was not. It was a major role in the episode. Minor quibble, but I thought she was good. Would love to watch her on Mad Men.

  17. Re: Britney Spears’ song

She’s a 27 year old woman. I think that the controversy surrounding this song irrelevant, and has been for years.

Is it dirty? Yes, but she’s an adult. She shouldn’t be obliged to write kiddie songs about holding hands and prom anymore if she doesn’t want to.

I’ve heard worse on the radio. Bottom line: if Britney Spears didn’t sing the song, everyone would just ignore it and not have their panties in a bunch over it.

  19. *rolling my eyes at all of you* it was a throw away line. She was answering a question, jeez. Her answer is phrased like someone asked her “Do you like the show Madmen? Would you ever want to be on it?”

    First think context, then comment.

  20. Jennifer Anniston is not allowed to be on MY show Mad Men. She is not allowed to be within 100 miles of Don Draper.

  21. Yeah, she was just answering a Q but it’s still wouldn’t be a good idea. Mad Men is doing just fine as it is.

  22. yah, even if it was a throw away comment, she ought to know better than to f*ck with perfection. she better stay well the hell away from that show. for one thing, its not a comedy, and doesnt require any of her hands-waving high-pitched whining ‘comedic timing.’ it takes sumblime subtlety and a certain ‘look’ which she certainly does not have.

she should leave well enough alone, and be honest with her abilities and where she fits. this is not a show for JA, and she should know better.

JA in madmen would be like finding a pubic hair in your icecream.

  23. Wow, really? All she said was what any actress, hell anyone would say: she wanted to be on one of her favorite shows.

I hope you people aren’t telling children to stop wanting to be firemen and astronauts because they might ruin the profession.

    Jeez.

  24. oh yes, vermillion, please won’s someone think of the children!?!? lets not be so dramatically extrapolating.

BTW, jen isnt a little child dreaming big. shes a grown ass woman who should know by now her limitations.

  25. bros - calm down. One would think JA did something to offend you so, what with the way you’re so angry commenting about her. She just said she wants to guest star, it doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen.

Plus, think about it, maybe if she guest stars she can show her “acting range”. Then people would stop saying she doesn’t know how to play anyone else but Rachel Greene.

  26. I personally think it is hilarious that some of you are so up in arms about Jennifer Aniston saying she likes Mad Men and would like to be on it.

I’m not a professional actress. I like Mad Men. I would love to be on it.

Go on and get pissed at me. Tell me I should know my range (none) and that I would drag the show down.

Now do you see how silly it sounds? Any Actress would say she wants to be on that show. Calm down folks.

  27. youre also not jennifer aniston, so therefore you have 100% of never being on the show, whereas she could conceivably be on it by dint of being a famous actress. i dont think its silly to be emotional about one’s dislike and contempt for a celebrity. this is, after all, an internet blog concerning opinions about celebrities. if you want something more milquetoast out of posters, find another blog.

  28. I’m not saying that people who post here should be boring or not have opinions. It’s just weird to me that people get so emotional about a throwaway comment.

She could, conceivably, be on the show yes. But Mad Men hasn’t made a habit in the past of stunt casting and the people who cast the show seem to be going with people who are relative unknowns to keep the show more real-seeming.

The likelihood that any major star would be on that show seems minimal. But I’m pretty sure major stars would want to be on it as the writing is fantastic.

I mean, if you are going to be emotional about your dislike and contempt for a particular celebrity, it seems to have more merit to be emotional about them speaking out against something you care about, or making a crappy film or hurting someone else; something that actually means something.

Getting emotional about her saying she’d like to be on Mad Men when the chances of it happening are slim to none is just silly. In my opinion.

  30. How is it that this completely talentless woman is still in show business let alone having pipe dreams about starring in a show of “Mad Men”’s caliber…(I’m really starting to belive that she thinks she is a good actress which is frightnening), I mean, in how many different ways can someone play THEMSELVES???
All I’m saying is that once upon a time, “Friday Night Light’s” was an excellent little show that could, then they made the tragic mistake of using ‘celebrities’ in guest spots to try to trump up ratings and look where it got them. I pray the the producers of “Mad Men” leave well enough alone and don’t mess with perfection.

  31. Mad Men needs an Aniston stunt appearance, like a fish needs a bicycle. Put her on Scrubs instead, that show is orbiting the drain.
