This Star Mag story was written before LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s VH1 reality show was confirmed. But the story is basically saying that the show is a go, and that “actors” are going to play Brandi Glanville and Mason and Jake Cibrian. Which is interesting. In Deadline’s exclusive about the reality series, sources confirm that the show will be about how LeAnn & Eddie “navigate their careers while also co-parenting Eddie’s two sons. It also promises for the duo to poke fun at what it’s like to be a high-profile couple with more than a little misinformation out there about them.” So will the show feature the real Mason and Jake or what?
LeAnn Rimes is looking to muscle in on archenemy Brandi Glanville’s territory, with a TV show of her own! A source reveals that LeAnn is keen on creating a scripted series based on her life with hubby Eddie Cibrian that would skewer Brandi. “Actors would play LeAnn, Eddie, the kids and Brandi,” explains the insider, noting that LeAnn is in “total meltdown” over the abysmal failure of her latest album, Spitfire, and blames Brandi entirely.
“LeAnn holds Brandi directly responsible for the album tanking because of all the bad publicity from their constant Twitter fights,” details the tipster. Brandi hasn’t minced words when it came to LeAnn’s album, sniping “These are the worst songs I’ve ever heard” – and it seems listeners agree: Spitfire sold a measly 10,798 copies in its first week.
But that’s not the only thorn in LeAnn’s side, admits the source: “To make matters worse, Brandi is flying high – her first book is a best-seller, and she’s already writing a second one!”

Sure. I believe all of this (except for actors playing LeAnn and Eddie because that would just be dumb). I think they’re really going to try to “cast” an actress to play “the horrible ex-wife who destroys the glorious Bonus Mother’s life by merely existing.” And it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that LeAnn blamed Brandi for the failure of Spitfire too. While I think Brandi played a small role in the failure of Spitfire (Brandi was giving interviews about it!), somebody needs to tell LeAnn that her publicity tour was just awful and no one really needed to hear “her side” of things because we’ve already heard her side for years.
LeAnn and Eddie released a statement to Deadline too, saying: “We are really excited to be working together on a unique show that will give you a glimpse into who we really are or better yet who we’re really not. We’re thrilled to partner with VH1 and The Gurneys to put our spin on a project full of love, humor and music.” Love, humor and music? Crap. LeAnn is going to be yodeling the whole time, you know it. It’s going to like her dumb Vine videos stretched into 24 minutes of dumb programming. And LeAnn had to chime in again on Twitter too, writing: “That’s a record! It was only 2 seconds before it got twisted LOL EXACTLY why we are doing the show. Good times to be had! Can’t wait!”

Yesterday I mentioned the Duck producers’ involvement in the long discussed TV project and wondered if that might be to lend credibility. Now, another possibility has crossed my mind. Could it be that the network is covering its legal bases by having them involved? If it flops, both the network and the Duck producers can each say they have had successes. Which leaves the dynamic duo at CCP holding the bag.
Of course, if it is even mildly successful, it will be due to the expertise of the newly formed CCP!

The album wasn’t terrible. It was the content that sucked. How Leanne is trying to justify cheating is a terrible subject to build an album on. Leanne shot herself in the foot with her twitter rants. I find all of the players in this sad drama to be fools, but Leann seems to be the most hypocritical IMO.
Spitfire was not a bad cd. It had a couple of good tunes. Leann should become apart of a bar band. Spitfire would be nice to listen to in a country western bar with a couple of drinks in you.
The girl is definitely in crisis. She should dump everyone in her life, use twitter to only promote gigs, and get a competent PR person to handle everything.

What I don’t get is how they think a SCRIPTED “reality” show will help people see the real them. That’s what I’m interested in, too. Everything Brandi wrote in her book had to be vetted to make sure that it was the absolute truth before it could be published. What sort of rules are there for “reality” TV that is scripted? Surely they can’t just hire an actress to portray a person without having some sort of guidelines about the portrayal and its truthfulness?
Scripted roles for real people using fakes will never fly. Who is advising R to even do this? They cannot trash real people and get away with it.
I am with you on this one. Mason is old enough to have an opinion about what words are put in his mouth by an actor portraying him. He is at a sensitive age and don’t want that type of embarrassment Same goes for Brandi. Whatever character they get to portray her can open up a can of worms and make them look foolish.
I bet a “bio mom” character, if they even have one, will not be named Brandi so they can claim she’s really not based on anyone. I’ve actually heard a duet from the album called Gasoline and Fire, which is, of course, a metaphor for the hot, hot forbidden love that she is consumed by. The song is repetitive and stupid; to be fair, so is the justification of her relationship with Squinty McSquintypants.
I believe this story because it suggests the lack of self-awareness that interviews, tweets, etc., demonstrate to the public. There are people who simply fail to understand that certain choices and behavior may ultimately backfire, and that it’s not always someone else who is to blame. Both women had a chance to “tell their story” this year via the book and album, and the buying public spoke.

Actually, Brandi on her book tour came across badly in many instances and she was mouthing off a lot trying to get hype going for her book and looked like a tacky fame-ho herself sometimes, not really thinking about the repurcussions to her kids. So if stupid LeAnn had kept her piehole shut, changed back to the LeAnn of 2008/2009 where she looked like LeAnn, not some plastic surgery/dental trauma gone wrong face, not talking like a hard smoker who has lived in California all her life, not a hint of accent or softness, not whined during the promotion of her album carrying on about tape off her mouth when people had seen her on interview after interview boo-hooing about victim LeAnn who hurts and doesn’t know why for a year now, wasn’t suing a teacher, wasn’t on twitter co-opting her bonus sons from the get-go, wasn’t setting up bikini shots every other week, on and on, she would still have a country music fanbase that liked her and over the affair. Yes, what exactly is going on with her speaking voice. It’s raspy and sounds so harsh. Like she’s been smoking for 20 years. Her singing voice has deteriorated a lot as well. She doesn’t sound like or resemble the LeAnn of 5 years ago at all and the transformation isn’t a good one.
Raspiness can be caused by bulimia. The vocal chords get fried by the constant acid. Remember the story about her throwing up her dinner so she could eat dessert with Eddie (as told by a woman who caught her throwing up)?

But Brandi’s book tour was actually kinda brilliant. Each day there was a new excerpt released and a new quote from Brandi on the tour. Double the press for days with new details to report morning and night.

Brandi told her story, Leann wouldn’t let it go. For over 4 years L keeps bringing up the affair, and the public tired of it quickly. The lawsuits in the press were her start of her downfall. Her music is terrible, you can’t understand the words from the voice she projects now. She has tried to be a rock singer, bad move for her, so nothing else is left for her. Her victim story is just plain bs, although at her IQ level, maybe this is as good as it is going to get for her. How sad for her that she destroyed her own future, as she can’t even fill a venue worth talking about. Lawn chairs and blankets are not concerts, imo.
LeAnn has done herself in and there is no one to blame for her failings but herself. Her litigiousness when she doesn’t get her way says a lot about what kind of person she is. She bullies with her money, through the court system. It is odd that not one “journalist” has bothered to ask LeAnn about the lawsuits. Blaming Brandi seems to be Leann excuse for all her failures. Her album failed because of its contents and people generally do not like her. And Leann would get to live the happy family life forever instead Brandi fought back and never back down from Leann and her minions when Brandi release her book it show a side to Leann that not a lot people knew so Brandi gain alot of supports . But I care more about how all three people act AFTER it’s done and over with. Take Leann, Eddie, and Brandi. Eddie should’ve manned up, not lied, and just went to work to provide for HIS KIDS. Whether he stayed w/Leann is beside the point. Leann should’ve stayed out of Brandi’s business. Period. That meant don’t try and buddy up to Eddie’s kids before you’re even married to the dude (didn’t they live together for a year or so before getting married?). When they did get married, ask POLITELY to have a conversation about what boundaries the bio mom did not want the step mom to breach. Brandi (in a situation that Leann hadn’t acted like a creepy stalker and otherwise rude and disgusting) should’ve been an adult and had that conversation. I think that she would have. Eddie, if there had been any problems during this, should’ve stepped in and told Leann/Brandi to be respectful.
It’s only when someone starts acting like an ass (for no reason) that I start judging-on both sides.

If the album was so good, why keep waiting to release it? I can only guess that part of the reason was it provided an excuse to keep a platform open to talk about HER side (as if that hadn’t already been happening) and give a rebuttal once the book hit the shelves. Nope, I think much like LL she wasn’t just the talent of the fam she was also the paycheck. Tina Fey spoke on this phenomenon when answering a question about her own daughter entering the. She said (I am paraphrasing) that by allowing your child to be the earner it disrupts the parent-child balance because its difficult to tell them what to do when you are living off them, which I totally believe.
Between LL and LeAnn the case for giving your child a good education and not getting your child involved in entertainment at a young age is very STRONG.
I do not think the word “no” ever escaped the lips of Leann’s parents. I have been a teacher for 27 years and have seen students act “entitled” like Leann. When I say “no” to them, I get pretty much the same reaction. She is a self-entitled brat who pretty much gets what she wants, does anything to get attention and totally blames everyone else for her shortcomings. She was never given the life skills needed to get on with her life: good manners, social skills, communication skills, general knowledge of current events etc. This woman cannot hold a conversation unless she can cry, whimper or brag about herself. No doubt she made her parents’ life h### because she probably was so overtly demanding and whined for anything and everything. She probably also put on the water-works and threw a tantrum as well. I mean…she “cries” on cue even today. What a PITA.

That has nothing to do with another opinion, that it is classless of other people – regardless of what the subjects have done – to ‘joke’ about infertility. I think some things should be off the table for derision – eg cancer, bereavement, infertility. My expressed hope was that *we* the commenters here at CB were better than that, even if you doubt LR would be above the same behaviour.
Clearly you disagree, but I have faith that most people’s ethical compasses will see this style of derision, painting infertility as a personal failing, remain at the fringe. Most people seem to be able to find something else to deride LR for, without stooping so low.

His older brother does very well in the private sector. And, Jake is civil to both parents. When his busy schedule permits, he goes to visit bio-dad and bonus mom in Nashville, where Wilbur graciously allows them to live in a renovated barn on his property after their various endeavors fizzled.
