funny, my husband and I just debated this while discussing taking the kids overseas. A friend of mine lost both parents in a plane crash when we were in high school. We decided that at least theoretically, we’d each take one kid and go separately… God I hate to fly.

I’m a loooongtime Kate Winslet fan, it’s about time she started getting recognition for her work. She’s always seemed down to earth and not concerned with becoming an uber-skinny Hollywood bimbo. They want the kids to be safe, no biggie. Sure, a little dramatic – but what the heck?

what Jaybird left out here by just linking was the fact that Sam Mendes was scheduled for one of the 9/11 flights and then wasn’t on it, so they have an extra-good reason to be scared/paranoid about flying
