Here are some photos from last night’s Tiffany’s 2014 Blue Book Gala, which was held at the Guggenheim Museum. There was a surprising amount of diversity in what women thought of the dress code. Some went for full-on gowns, some went for cocktail dresses, some went for business suits. One of my favorite looks from the event was – surprisingly – Jessica Biel in this Oscar de la Renta Fall 2014. That’s velvet! For me, this seems more like a winter gown, as in it would be more appropriate for an event in November or December. But still, it’s very pretty, it fits her well and she’s styled beautifully. Okay, I would change up her hair a little bit, but that’s it.
I feel like Kate Bosworth was the biggest try-hard of the event. She really went all-out in this Katie Ermilio Fall 2014 gown. Do you get the style reference? It’s Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, where Marilyn sings “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”. Except that Marilyn was poured into that famous pink dress and The Bos… well… I can’t. Also: I’m pretty sure we’re going to get a pregnancy announcement sometime soon. Right?
Everybody is disrespecting Hilary Rhoda in this Jason Wu Spring 2014 look, but this is how Wu put it together on the runway. This is literally the runway look – Wu wanted this glittery skirt to be worn with a sweater. So don’t make fun of Hilary.
And finally, here’s Katie Holmes in a Balenciaga mini-dress. All the jewelry in this post is from Tiffany’s, I should mention. Anyway, thoughts? I really don’t like it at all. I don’t think it’s flattering and she needs brighter colors. But she does look happy, so good for her. She took a selfie on the red carpet too, because that’s what all the kidz do.

I think it might be Friday fatigue but I actually like Hilary Rhoda’s outfit (except for those hideous shoes). Maybe it’s because I love the shade of blue, idk. The rest of them are blah to awful, velvet is not a good thing to wear in the spring, lol.

I just find Jessica Biel to be stunning. She’s just a great natural beauty with a great figure. Athletic and toned.
She annoys the hell outta me, but she’s my inspiration when I bust my ass in the gym every day.

I think Jessica looks best without much make up on.The pink lipstick is not working for me.She is not the most exciting celebrity because it seems like she leads a pretty healthy lifestyle.No Lohan drama here.She does have the best figure in hollywood In my opinion.No giant fake ass or boobs.
I think she is stunning too, which is why it is so irritating when she wears unflattering clothes!
I think she looks great here, the dress really flatters that amazing figure of hers. I think the hair is pretty bad, but it doesn’t ruin the whole look. Not a fan of the lip color on her, but it is better than her usual look of nude lips (that tend to wash her out).
I like Biel’s dress too. Not much of an actress but a hell of a dresser.
Yeah I assume Bosworth is pregnant (or wants the rumours). Mocktress to Mommy pimp is pretty much a standard career path these days.
The velvet doesn’t really show in these pictures (I love it in deep jewel-tones, though). I’m in Texas & we’ve already had a 90 degree day, so IMO it’s way too late in the season for velvet – even if it is technically still not after Easter yet.
Someone tell Kate – it’s called a Bella Band and it will eliminate that belly button problem. Unless that is just a distended, malnourished belly.
Katie looks great! I have no idea what the intended dress code was, but I think she’s the only one of the bunch who scored with her look.
Yeah, I’m still disrespecting Hillary Rhoda-if designer insists on a silly look, you simply wear something else. And don’t get me started on the awful, kitschy, cheap-Barbie-copy shoes: my mom lived in a communism in the 80ies and even there those shoes would be atrocious!

I like Biel’s dress. Bosworth’s pink gown reminds me of Hepburn’s. Rhoda’s outfit would have been better if the skirt isn’t see through. You can clearly see her undies and it’s not cute!
Why were there so many C-listers at this event? I thought Tiffany’s would be able to bring out bigger celebrities. Kate Bosworth cheap imitation dress is a disgrace to Marilyn Monroe. Bosworth is the antithesis of Marilyn -malnourished, try hard, not sexy.

Putting on a pink column dress is NOT automatically an homage to ”Diamonds” – that dress completely misses the mark both as a reference in spirit or as a direct copy. And that color is truly heinous, the fit is terrible… Ugh. (and I’m assuming that it was The Bos herself or the designer that stated it was an homage)
And yes, a pregnancy is imminent for the Bos. Its her last card to play.

The first thing I noticed about Bos is her hip bones for heaven’s sake! If I can see the outline of your pelvis in a dress there is something weird happening. Unattractive. Biel looks (maybe) the best ever here. This dress fits her like a glove and accentuates all her positives (tiny waist, wide shoulders and, I’m assuming amazing derreire). Good for you J.B.
They both look like crap. Am I the only one that finds Jessica extremely unattractive? For all her talk about the burden of her beauty, I just don’t see her that way.

The dress shows off a fantastic figure, the tassel necklace looks sloppy and slapped on with the tailored look of the dress, and I think her hair and make-up needed to be taken up a notch toward sophistication. It’s like part of her went to the beach, while the other part was in Manhattan, if that makes sense. I don’t really care for the other looks and Katie is rapidly approaching the preciousness zone of Zooey Deschanel with the toddler legs pose and expressions.
After Peaches Gedolf death was announced, someone commented on Jezebel that they saw Kate Bosworth in real life (the connection between those 2 is speculated ED), and the commenter said that Bosworth is literally doing great damage to her heart, by how much endangered she is. Can you really get pregnant if you’re seriously underweight?
And the other thing: I know, we shouldn’t judge other’s people bodies-but is it okay to be all shhhh… about it, while ED’s are running rampant in teenage and young populations, and partly because we are talking about her dress, her maybe pregnancy, her this and that, but we are not saying-this is ED and this is just not healthy (and not right).
I don’t know. I have a sister, she’s 17. I don’t want her to think this is what she should strive for, what is ok and what is beautiful. She is beautiful-beautiful and smart, but still a teen. The other day we had a conversation about our bodies, and I was shocked when she told me “Yes, I have a nice body, but I hate my thighs and my arms-they are so fat” When I remarked that she’s talking jibberish-she really has totally normal everything- her answer: “Yeah, but those girls that are always at Chanel and so on-the one with blonde hair and different eyes (Bosworth)? Her arms are the same from top to bottom- and her legs also! And they look so good in their clothes-you can’t wear sleeveless if you have arms like me!”

Some underweight women can’t get pregnant. Giuliana Rancic’s doctor told her to gain weight to have a kid. But yet Rachel Zoe has been pregnant TWICE!

All different body types make up the world, some that are naturally a bit heavier, and some that are legitimately naturally skinny. Also acknowledging the fact that we cannot diagnose someone from red carpet photos, I have a difficult time accepting a celebrity at face value when they state that they’re ‘naturally skinny’ because very, very few women ever truly acknowledge what it takes to be Hollywood Thin. The ideal of beauty that’s being sold is unattainable by natural means for 99 percent of women, but they want to persist in the fallacy that it’s normal because people don’t want to admit how exploitative and misogynistic Hollywood can be. Young women are just pieces of lean meat.
And to answer your question: it is very difficult for severely underweight women to get pregnant, as a woman’s menstrual cycles are disrupted when the body is put under great stress. Giuliana Rancic was shocked that she couldn’t get pregnant because she was underweight and 36.
Rachel Zoe got pregnant twice.
I believe that Zoe underwent IVF treatment. Pure speculation, but considering her age and body weight, that’s most likely.
(I as well believe that much more celebrities did the same.)
The dress hits Holmes in exactly the wrong spot, and the ugly, conservative pumps ruin the modern look of the dress. And for goodness sake, after all of these years, you would think she would know how to stand. Her posture is horrific.
Kate looks terrible. her face is all stretched and that clownish orange lipstick. ACK!!!! And it’s hard to tell if she’s pregnant or if it’s just he cocaine/malnourished bloat.

I don’t think any of them look good except Katie. Biel has a great body and pretty face but I think she is one of those women that look better with natural makeup and casual clothes. I don’t like that velvet dress on her. Bosworth always looks unhealthy to me and odd looking and hate the hair color. Hilary’s outfit I think looks tacky together. Katie looks simple, put together and cute. Like her eye makeup and nails and she looks toned. She needs better posture when on red carpet.
I like Jessica’s dress. She has got one of the best bods in the business. I would take her body over Kim K’s any day of the week. Jessica’s hair and makeup are just not good and aren’t playing up how truly pretty she is. The necklace is pretty dated and looks cheap when it probably isn’t.

i didn’t say it in my earlier post…but katie holmes has very odd legs…forgive me katie and everyone who loves her…i do, too, but she’s got almost double-jointed legs that sit oddly in her hips…and her knees are the same…so her body looks contorted when in fact that’s just how she’s made…she’s gorgeous, though…just a very unique body…
Don’t hate on the selfies!! As long as you aren’t the President of THE major power of the first world countries at a respected leader’s funeral selfies are fine! Think about it~people don’t wash their hands, and think about how many people are busily using their phones while they are using the restroom. Do you REALLY want someone like that taking a picture of you on your cell phone? Do you want to take a picture of others on their cell phones? Who knows where those hands have been, what kind of germs are on those phones, and how easily transferred those contaminants are. There was a study that swabbed cell phones at a hospital, that found approx. 30% of MD’s cell phones had the MRSA Staph infection on them. Those were the DOCTORS cell phones. I am not a germaphobe, but I AM very careful about what I touch when I am out somewhere.

I can somewhat “get” that look if you are a singer and performing on stage. But to wear to a A list event just looks tacky as hell. I am not interested in seeing everyone’s Granny Panties for the next year. At all. Then again. 1) Jessica Biel looks good in the dress – she’s got a great figure and it shows. But, the hair is a problem.
2) Kate Bosworth does not look good. Just about everything is a fail with the dress – the fit & colour are bad. Plus, her hair is the wrong colour for her and the style is about as boring, lame, and uninspiring as it can get.
3) Katie Holmes. Well, Katie. Ok. Ummm. Dunno. Katie continues to dress for a different body than she actually has. She consistently highlights the most unflattering parts of her figure, and covers up the most flattering. Why Katie, why?
