I think it’s been years since we’ve seen Rachel McAdams at the Costume Institute Gala, if ever. So that’s why I’m disappointed that she wore this simple, pale pink Ralph Lauren gown when she could have really stepped it up. This is just a one tone pastel gown in a very simple silhouette and it’s forgettable to me. Plus her hair and makeup are similarly underwhelming.
Also at last night’s Met Gala were Rachel’s most recent ex (that we know of), Michael Sheen, and his new lady, Sarah Silverman. Sarah was in a va-va voom scarlet Zac Posen gown that looked incredible, but was apparently difficult to maneuver. This was Sarah and Micheal’s first red carpet together as a couple. I wonder if Rachel and Michael had any awkward run-ins? That must be a sh*tty part of being in show business: running in those small circles of people and having to see your ex and his new piece.
Hailee Steinfeld also looked classic and perfect for the theme in black and white Prabal Gurung. I love how the hemline on this dress is somewhat bell-like, and how old school this dress is. I’m not fond of her styling, though. I like a bold brow but it’s like someone teased hers up.
Another young starlet in black and white was Chloe Moretz, in Chanel. Some may call this dress too old fashioned and mature for her, but I sort-of like it. I think her styling keeps it fresh and young looking, although some of the details are too much. The goofy Western belt could go, as could the pink tufted pieces around the waist. Otherwise I think it’s cute, and I love her hair and makeup.

Sarah has a great figure and she looks bangin’ in that dress. Her face is pretty severe so I’d have opted for hair down.

I think its just a bad picture, caught her half smile. Other pics of her she looks the same as she always has.

Thought the same. Maybe it’s the hairstyle? I’m used to seeing her with more layers. I kind of like her dress, though it could use a little more shape and detail. But she’s like an oasis of calm amongst the maze of the colour and bling walking the carpet, so my tired eyes thank her. 😉
ETA: Comparing to older pics, I think she’s had a bit of botox on her forehead. Her browline is higher.
I had no idea Michael Sheen was dating Sarah Silverman. Her dress is ok, but she made a better looking couple with Jimmy Kimmel. I don’t see the chemistry with Sheen, especially compared to his pics with Rachel.

Michael looks so cat that got the cream. Sarah looks lovely, like a sexy senorita, one of her best looks ever. I think the hair is perfect. I would have though it might be awks with Rachel but maybe they are friendly who knows. She looks pretty but nothing daring or interesting going on. I still prefer her brunette.
The tweenlets both look cute and age appropriate though I find Chloe unbearably smug and precocious.

He’s got an OBE (Order of British Empire), so I’m guessing it’s that.
I tried zooming in, and got all confused because it doesn’t look quite the right shape, but the photo is blurry at that level of zoom so I really can’t be sure. It’d make sense to wear it.
Michael has an OBE(order of the British empire) from the Queen for services to acting. Pretty sure that’s what he is wearing.

I’m there with you. She looks like an accessory to her man and not a person in her own right. I always find such couples annoying but this I find almost disturbing, considering she’s such an outspoken and independent-minded person.
Sara Silverman’s boobs are trying to escape. Why do some women think cramming them into ill fitting dresses so they are all blobby and weird looking is attractive?
Steinfeld is adorable, but I wish she hadn’t worn so much eye make up. And I love Chloe Moretz but that dress is all kinds of wrong.
