According to the National Enquirer, teen heartthrobs Zac Efron, 21, and Vanessa Hudgens are secretly engaged. The High School Musical star is said to have popped the question to his sweetheart while they were in Japan this January. They’ve been staying in Vanessa’s new home together, and the engagement is a way to appease Vanessa’s mother, who doesn’t want them to live together before marriage:
Zac… proposed to Vanessa during a joint trip to Japan in late January, say sources. The two are planning a long engagement and will tie the knot in 2010.
Zac hasn’t given Vanessa a ring yet, say sources – but he’s hoping the proposal will buy him some time with Vanessa’s super-strict mom, Gina, who didn’t approve of the sweethearts living together before they were married.

You can say “Oh this is just The National Enquirer,” but they get a lot of stories right, and were the first to break the news of Vanessa’s nude photo scandal before the pictures even surfaced. I would bet this is true and these two are engaged, but whether it’s just for Vanessa’s mother’s sake or if they’re serious about it is up to question. It doesn’t seem like they really mean it if he didn’t get a ring. They seem way too young to be married, especially considering how famous they are. It’s not easy to make a marriage work at that age, especially in Hollywood.

Thats “way too young to be married”? I was 21 when I got married, & we were READY. I think it depends on the person, not the age…not in every case, anyways.

It’s an awful long way to go if this is a made-up relationship to hide Zac’s homosexuality, as many in the blogosphere would have it.
Still, did anyone else see those weird photos of them in the sex toy store a few months ago? When he had the dyed blond hair and the baseball cap? They weren’t paparazzi shots – they were shots both of them posed for with the store owner.
Maybe there is something more than a gay guy/beard relationship there, although it’s hard to guess what it is.
This is strange. The kid that co-stars in HSM3, I think his name is Ryne Sanborn was recently at some car show doing promotion for HSM3…some fan shot video of him doing signings. The video is on youtube. He is asked about Zac and Vanessa being a real couple and confirms yes and they’ve been together three years. He says that he doesn’t see them breaking up and that marriage is probably down the road soon.

I don’t know why, and I’ve never watched their show or movie or whatever they have, (I’m not that kind of mom) but for some strange reason I like these two.
I also love to mispronounce both their names, just to hear my kids laugh at their “unhip” mom. And I get them everytime.

theres something really egotistical and vain about vanessa. shes REALLY hard to like. as a couple, i think they are adorable, but as far as she goes, she is one of the least charasmatic actresses around and I would love to see ther and that stupid grin of hers disapear.
they actually seem like they have a genuinely great relationship. im happy for them. pretty young for marriage, but they seem very happy and like they are just perfect for eachother. i never thought it would work out like that when i first heard about their relationship: there they were the 2 teen hearttrhobs of the oustandingly popular new teen movie. but their relationship has always seemed just the way a relationship should be. congrats zanessa!
Ok Zac, this is 2009 everybody is out.. go for it.. Vanessa is gross to me, not sure why, but she is super irritating. He is young, I bet he will come out in a couple years when he realizes how many of his colleagues are gay and how it is now ok.

For Goddness sack ! it dosent matter how old you are when you play in a football team, it dosn’t matter how old you are when you fall in love so why should it matter if zac and vanessa are getting married (if this is true)and how old or young they are the most important thing is that they love each other more than anything, trust each other, and want to be with each other and ovb they do as they have been together for a long time and because of the length of time they have known and been together for only means there relationship is stronger than ever and they never ever let the fake story’s the press have made up to come between them, come between them that shows how much they love each other and care and want each other and to be honest with you i think it is really sweet and to all you people who say they are to young or aren’t in love YOUR PERTHETIC.. i bet the only reson you say this is because you haven’t found the right person or the person you trust and love more than anything in this world !

Well its been a little over a week since the break. At 1st my whole world seemed to end. I am so grateful that I found this website and bought the system. Unfortunately due to a legal incident, I did have to speak with him briefly yesterday. It was by text and I kept it very short. This has happened between us before and I did the whole begging thing or took him back too soon. This time its different for me. During this week away, I realized what a drama queen I had become and needy. Instead of thinking of ways to accidentally bump into him or making up and excuse as to why I had to go by his house, or texting him asking him if he was ok; I’ve been doing as Jemima directed. I am now enrolling in school and changing my career at 51. I know its begining to work because he is commenting on his fb on subjects directly related to what my status updates have been. Although I am good friends with his family i only post on their pages regarding them or myself, never about him. I will check in weekly to give updates. I realized I was relying on him way too much for my own happiness. Thanks so much Jemima and Essy!
