While there’s no smoking gun in the tabloid-hyped Reese Witherspoon Jake Gyllenhaal relationship, meaning no photos outside of scheduled events, the two were seen exiting an office building in Beverly Hills on Tuesday minutes from each other.

The paparazzi agency wants to know if they’re a couple, and I say it’s all in the mind of the tabloids. Apart from a few eyewitness sightings there’s little evidence that they’re more than friends or that they even hang out much.

They were both working on the movie Rendition together, and it’s possible that they had a business meeting or that they were in the building for separate purposes and then left at around the same time.

The latest in the tabloids has Jake wanting to be a father figure to Reese’s two children. At one point they were said to be cooling their non-relationship, but now it will be back in full swing since there’s so much evidence that it’s real.

Meanwhile Jake Gyllenhaal was seen out at a book store on a Friday night with his longterm friend, Austin Nichols. Jake has also visited Nichols on the set of his new film.
