I really don’t understand why Princess Charlene NEVER wears her tiara. If I had a tiara, I would spend my days looking for a reason to wear it. She’s only worn the “Ocean Tiara” a handful of times in the past few years. Blah. Anyway, these are photos of Charlene and Prince Albert last night at the 2014 Princess Grace Awards Gala in Beverly Hills. Charlene wore a bridal look from Dior Haute Couture. I’m assuming this was made especially for her. It’s flattering and pretty. Sort of boring. And I’m pretty tired of that neckline on her.
As we learned on Monday, Princess Charlene is expecting twins. Some of you think that this means that there was some science involved with the conception. I agree. What do you think I meant when I spoke of the Insemination Dungeon? I feel pretty certain that Charlene did not conceive these babies by the traditional sexin’ method. As for which twin will inherit the throne or whatever… I’m assuming it’s still the oldest twin, right? Even if the oldest twin is just a few seconds or a few minutes older.

I made a post below, but I agree with you. Very rarely do I not look like I want to kill myself in photos, and that is no indication of anything!
Actually, in these photos her eyes look as if she had been crying.
I haven’t seen such an expression on her ever since the wedding.
In both cases, I suspect it wasn’t tears of joy.
As for Albert, he is looking just as grumpy as on his wedding day, too.

Can she though? With all those lip injections etc.? She was so pretty, I don’t get it. She’s still pretty but … yeah. I see injections and not much else at this point. I really hope these kids make her happy, she seems so miserable.

She always looks happy during her engagements with kids, especially when she’s in the pool teaching them to swim. I agree with the Sad Resting Face idea.

Albert is the poster boy for smarmy. Poor Charlene looks like a Stepford wife. It probably doesn’t help that every time I see a photo of her I think of the weeks before their wedding when she traded to escape.

The rules are that one can only wear tiara’s at official state ‘tiara’ events. Some fundraiser in California doesn’t count. None of the royals in any of the big countries wear tiara’s unless it’s for a state wedding or some other kind of official function. Maxima and Letizia were in NYC last week and didn’t wear a tiara once.
That being said, Monocco has some fantastic necklaces and earrings that Charlene could wear. I’d wear some of those pieces in a heart beat if I could.
As for the twins, According to the Constitution of the Principality, the first born baby is the closest in line to the throne, with priority given to males. What remains unclear is what will happen if the first born is a girl

Just want to say, FTR, that if I were a princess, I’d wear my tiara everywhere. To the bathroom, even. I’d be the tackiest princess in all the lands, but I’d have my tiara on, so I’d hardly care.

I don’t really keep up with the Monaco royals, but I occasionally read comments that Charlene is miserable etc. To me it just seems she is incredibly shy and uncomfortable at having her photo taken or forcing a smile. I get that, in most of my photos it looks like I’d rather be somewhere else too.
I agree. Everyone is reading a lot into how she looks when it could be just how she is. A lot of women are attracted to the “skeevy” kind of guys, especially if he is royalty. If she didn’t want to have his baby(ies), artificial insemination or not, I’m sure she wouldn’t have gotten pregnant.
IDK. Once upon a time, if you were miserable in your marriage, you had to have babies before you could step out on the marriage. Once a male heir was provided, you could cheat all you wanted to (discretely). I wonder if that still applies?

Yes it does. Provide the ‘heir and spare’ as a former Dss of Marlborough so eloquently phrased it and you have permission to go and enjoy yourself as you want. Very discreetly of course.
Do we know anything about their relationship? She wept all through her wedding, but she has also been with this guy for years. I read that she wasn’t REALLY trying to run away before the wedding, she just forgot her passport when she happened to be leaving the country. Hm.
Regarding her running away. If it was true Charlene simply forgot her passport Albert would have had more luck when suing the publications that printed she tried to flee. He had success in 1 case, but it was not because the story was a lie in any way.
And she ran 3 times. Her family was taken care of there and no longer would support her if she chose to leave. Much is known about their relationship. How horrible Albert is is common knowledge.
She was with him and changed her life/relocated. Still, she changed her mind and tried to leave. Women in abusive relationships stay for years. How long she continued a relationship with Albert shouldn’t be a way to support her being happy and willing in their relationship.

Look at her face! I can’t believe that nobody’s writing about the change of her face. She looked so pretty and natural before it got really serious with Albert. But now???? So, it’s not only the insemination dungeon, but also the Grace-Kelly-Lookalike-Dungeon (and it totally failed).
I think she looks odd, too – I think her lips have been augmented recently. I’m not surprised though since I have seen pics of her before her plastic surgery – she’s game for surgical enhancement. Let’s hope the baby doesn’t get her old face.
I think it’s a change related to the pregnancy. Some women get it, some don’t, there is no rule. It’s hormonal – I had it in my first pregnancy, not in the second (in fact I looked better than ever)
I agree with minxx, it’s pregnancy-related. I remember when Jennifer Lopez was expecting her twins she had that same bloated, swollen-lips look that changed her face completely. Charlene may have been doing a bit of ‘tox and filler, but not to the extent that it made her look old. She has very strong bone structure and wide cheekbones and a bit of pregnancy padding really exaggerates it.
If I had a tiara (or any other awesome, vintage bling) I’d wear that f-cker every single day. I’d come down to breakfast, and what’s his name would be all ‘Where are you going today?’, and I’d say ‘I’m gonna lay down on the couch and watch Scandal….’……..I’d walk around dripping in jewelry in a silk nightgown/robe.

Whoever styled her fashionwise after the marriage really knows what works for her. She gets it right most times I’ve seen her. Her clothes look high quality, couture and are fitted well.

I agree. I recently went through a whole bunch of her pix and I have to say that she really knows how to dress. She hardly ever misses. Her makeup and hair are also very well done.
I can’t tell if it’s this marriage or this pregnancy but something has just drained all of her good looks. She looks so hard and g aggard in the face, even moreso since thid pregnancy. I wonder just what her life is like behind those palace walls.
Such a contrast from Kate’s first pregnancy. Kate glowed throughout, even while leaving the hospital after all of that throwing up. I understand pregnancy is different for every woman but the contrast is interesting.
Maybe it’s the hairstyle that is aging her. Or Albert.

This was not a tiara-appropriate event-thats why. Tiaras are mostly for state functions, weddings, etc.

I think she is almost 6 feet tall, broad shouldered (swimming), and very fit/muscular. Plus they also announced very early due to her illness. If the babies are due late December, she’s maybe 6 1/2 months.
I think she looks lovely, let’s not forget she’s 7-8 months pregnant with twins! Although she does mess with her face on regular basis, I think what we’re seeing here is a pregnancy face, not a botoxed face. Some women get it, some don’t. I had it with my first pregnancy while with the second I was glowing and looking better than ever. Don’t read too much into it (like: she’s miserable so her face changes etc). She doesn’t look frightened to me, just pregnant and a bit self-conscious, which is easy to understand under the circumstances (everyone assessing the size of her belly and trying to figure out how she conceived). Btw, I find her to be much more elegant than Kate – Charlene is a minimalist and wears very classic colours, hardly any patterns, all wonderfully cut for her figure, no sausage curls and eyeliner of doom in sight :). Hope everything goes well for her and the babies.

For twins that are due at the end of the year, she sure has a small bump. Zoe Saldana has been much bigger throughout her pregnancy with twins.

She will probably have a C-section and they will take the boy first if there are both sexes, unless they change the succession rules like Britain did…
There was insemination and probably the couple knows the sex(es) of the babies on board. Don’t you think there will be a c-section and beforehand the male or larger male will be positioned first? Yeahhhh. And, if both are female, there won’t have to be a re-positioning. (Logic). Given that Charlene looks so worried all the time, I figure she has two boys on board, so there is no possibility of one of Al’s bastard children in the line of succession. Sexism in royal birth is brutal.
Please don’t refer to his illegitimate children as bastards, it’s a cruel and outmoded expression. Furthermore, in 2002, changes were made to the Constitution of Monaco which states that if the sovereign (Albert) has no legitimate child, the crown passes to one of the dynastic siblings of the sovereign or, if not living, to one of their legitimate descendants, male or female.
How do you know there was insemination done? And I doubt very much if a repositioning will take place, we’re not living in 18th century. Nor does Charlene look worried all the time that she has 2 boys on board and what if she does? First one out wins, male or female. In her defense she has the type of wide cheekbone structure and downturned eyes that give her resting sad face. And she’s probably overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a mother.
I wish Charlene would talk to Marie of Denmark about pregnancy fashion. Marie tends towards a sleeker style, like Charlene, and her pregnancy gala gowns didn’t look like nightgowns.
It’s funny to read about her being compared to the style princesses. She has no style. Period. It’s Albert’s friendship to Arnault that guarantees the quality of the clothes. She was picking even uglier, more bland hemp-looking outfits and not on purpose either. Her face is totally messed up. But it’s nice to see her loyal hired supporters still flooding blogs and forums to hype her a bit.
I must say it. I’m pregnant and due at the beginning of December and if we go by size comparison I must be having all 19 Duggar children at one time.
