Of all Taylor Swift’s past relationships, the one I miss the most is actually Jake Gyllenhaal. I still think that one was the funniest, the stupidest, the most blatant and the most ridiculous. Taylor was still acting like a little girl back then, except she managed the relationship’s PR coverage, thus that still-amazing Us Weekly cover. After Jake, my second favorite Swifty Boyfriend was Harry Styles. Harry and Swifty actually made real sense together, in that they were a glorious mess but he was very much on her level and her equal in a lot of ways. I’ve always thought that Swifty played games and tried that classic “I’m going to run away and see if he chases me” move and it blew up in her face. He dumped her, then she stalked him for a bit and then she got over it by writing a bunch of songs about their two-month relationship for her new album. And now, two years later, Us Weekly says that Harry and Swifty are “friends” again. O RLY?
Never, ever getting back together… or are they? Taylor Swift and Harry Styles may have called it quits last year, but sources tell Us Weekly exclusively that the two stars are now friendly again.
“They have become pals,” an insider tells Us of Swift, 24, and Styles, 20. The country-turned-pop crooner and the One Direction heartthrob started dating in October 2012 before splitting in January 2013.
“They had a fight,” a source told Us at the time, adding that Styles “said something he shouldn’t have” and the breakup “is definitely going to be for good.” Things got rocky between the two at the end of 2012, as Swift skipped out early on a vacation with Styles.
While she may not have found her forever in the British pop star, Swift did get some album inspiration. She referenced their relationship in multiple songs on her hit pop album 1989, including her collaboration with Jack Antonoff “Out of the Woods,” and the thinly veiled “Style.”
The boy bander took no issue with his inclusion on the record, saying earlier this month in a Google Hangout, “We write from personal experience. I think everyone does. So it would be hypocritical of us to be like, ‘Oh, you can’t write about us.'”
Not only was Styles not offended by the songs, but he reconnected with Swift as well, sources tell Us.
“Taylor has been bragging to her trainer and celeb friends that she and Harry are talking again,” a second insider dished, adding that Swift, whose pre-Styles guys include Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, and Conor Kennedy, hasn’t been dating anyone else since.
“My expectations have changed when it comes to love,” Swift told Us Weekly exclusively this month. “Now when I meet someone and there’s chemistry, my first thoughts are ‘When this ends, I hope you’ll remember me well.'”
Out of all of her blind-items song subjects, I think Harry took it the best. He complimented her songwriting abilities. He’s actually never said a bad word against her. I think he was just happy to have her out of his life for the most part. So, they’re “friends” again. What do you think? Are they hooking up? Is Harry keeping her at arm’s length? Or is Swifty older and wiser and she’s the one keeping him in The Friend Zone?

I think Taylor’s too busy making her fans happy at the moment with presents to deal with Harry. That, the VS fashion show, world tour, spending time with her friends, the awards shows, checking out men who look like men and not boys—who has time for Harry?
Please, I am no Taylor fangirl, but she busy is being king of the world. This entire article smells like BS and frankly slightly sexist in it’s spin in the way that it says Taylor was “going after him”, “playing games” like some female stereotype of the clingy pathetic manipulative girl. Give Harry some credit… he is not saint either.
And Jake is twice Taylor’s age… the only one who you could say had the reigns in that relationship was Jake.
Yep. As if she’s bragging about being friends with him again, sounds so ridiculous. I think she has other things to brag about, her record sales for example.

Yep. Their relationship was such a blatant PR stunt, I can’t believe the writers here aren’t calling it for what it is. I remember when it first happened they appeared to believe it too. I just can’t, not for a second. I said it then and I’ll say it again, they didn’t have enough heat between them to warm up a poptart.
There was a rumor that Harry was trying to reconnect with Taylor again and her camp shut it down. I think they’ve been on friendly terms for awhile now but I don’t think they’re close or even thinking about getting back together. I think both have moved on. But I wouldn’t doubt Taylor enjoying the fact that he’s friendly with her. He’s super famous and she loves a good spotlight.

No def not. She can make headlines on her own but I think she loves a good relationship drama.
It’s not news that they are friends now… I think that in one of her interviews she let it slip that the difference with previous albums was that the subject of some songs of 1989 had already listened to them before it was released.
She also said that they were hood friends and that at some point they had discussed what went wrong with them, etc.

Not a swiftly apologist, but I feel I should point out that she was still very, very young when she dated Jake G, and he is much older.
Aye, the gross part of that relationship was on Jake for me. Same with Mayer. I can understand why young women go after older men, but it’s irresponsible to date somebody who isn’t anywhere near your level of maturity or experience.
Supposedly Harry sent Taylor 1989 roses to congratulate her on the album. I saw that headline somewhere…
Other than that yea Taylor was pissed that her moves didn’t work with him. It was kinda funny and she was SO mad afterwards. Hopefully she’s grown up a bit from that
I don’t feel like she roasted him too badly on the album , though. I mean, Style is a pretty decent song, out of the woods is just typical pop stuff- nothing about him cheating, boozing, drugging, being a crappy person… in fact, the album is almost a bit wistful about the relationship. I could be wrong- will admit I didn’t listen too closely.
PLUS, he’s now, semi-attached/associated to a record breaking album.
I didn’t think she was too harsh on him either. It was more like “It didn’t work, there was drama, I need to write about it.” I think it’s interesting though that the person who came out of this looking rather well (I’m talking compared to all her relationships although she was the one not looking great after that Kennedy child) is actually Harry Styles. For all the rumors about the boy, not even Taylor Swift could find something horrible to write about.
Gawd, I so want to know what kind of crazy sh*t went down with these two drama kids. I miss them like I miss Skarsgard and Bosworth. It was glorious. PR or not, I was entertained.
Kathy Griffin has a bit in her standup about Harry Styles that is hilarious, but in a sweet/goofy way. Taylor Swift fascinates me. She is insanely successful/driven and beautiful yet she is sort of this crazy cat lady who crochets/knits all her friends gifts and sort of (maybe not anymore) stalks all her ex boyfriends. I think I kind of…like her?

I think Harry Styles was the only one of her exes who had Simon Cowell coaching him on how to be media-perfect.
Maybe Harry is laid-back about it all, but I think he had help phrasing his responses.
Isn’t it acknowledged though that he is gay and their relationship was fake? It’d be in their agreement that she’d then write songs about him afterwards. They both protect each others secret. Same goes for Jake and Patrick. Long ago I heard it was because John Mayer messed her around quite badly so she was scared of more public relationships for the time being so turned to bearding instead. I love wild rumours like these!

I think A LOT more songs on Taylor’s album are about Harry than just two. Style, Out of The Woods, I wish You Would, Wildest Dreams, This Love, I Know Places, Clean, Wonderland, & You Are In Love (bonus songs) seem to ALL be about Harry.
