Marvel wants Tom Hiddleston for more ‘Age of Ultron’ reshoots in January: yay?!

wenn10054694

This is just a little Hiddlesmorsel to keep you guys interested through the holiday. We might even have new photos of Tom Hiddleston this Sunday – he’s nominated for an Evening Standard Theatre Award (for Coriolanus) and he might appear. I have no idea if his Hank Williams bio-pic has finished filming in America, but I suspect it has because it had a small budget and I doubt the production lasted much longer than seven weeks. So… maybe Hiddles! Maybe Hiddles will be seen and photographed on Sunday. Here’s hoping.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail’s gossip guy claims that Marvel producers have asked several Avengers to make themselves available for some action-y reshoots for The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Apparently, Marvel is thirsty for MOAR LOKI too.

Stars of the new Avengers film, Age Of Ultron, will quietly re-assemble in London early in the New Year to shoot some extra scenes for the Marvel blockbuster. Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Tom Hiddleston (bad-guy Loki) have all been asked to make themselves available over a two-week period in January to film additional scenes at Pinewood Studios.

Director Joss Whedon and the film’s producers may not require all the stars to fly into the UK, but they had to send out an early blanket notice so they’d be around if required. And for the kind of money this cast is being paid, they’re not going to refuse.

I understand that, as with the James Bond films, Age Of Ultron — the second Avengers movie — needs a bit more kick-ass on an extravagant scale. The Avengers movies and their spin-offs have become box office diamond dust. Audiences cram into cinemas to see them — but they also demand that the action in each new film be more spectacular than the last.

Later next year, Avengers 3 and 4 will shoot back to back, most likely at Pinewood in the UK. There are some huge pictures coming to film here. In fact, so many U.S. film-makers and actors are working at British studios now that when Dawn Hudson, head of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, visited recently, she saw so many members she joked she could have held a governors meeting in the UK. It’s a testament to British film talent — and that of the other craftsmen and women who opt to be based here.

[From The Daily Mail]

Well, that makes me happy. Earlier this month, Idris Elba confirmed the hopes/dream/prayers of many Dragonflies when he let it slip that he and Hiddles had filmed some undercover scenes for Ultron. If they want Hiddleston to come back for more scenes, my guess is that Marvel is looking to build even further on Loki’s story because Loki will be central to Thor: Ragnarok and possibly The Avengers 3 & 4, right? MOAR HIDDLES!!!

I thought he wasn’t going to be in the sequel at all??

    • Lilacflowers says:

As far as he knew, when asked about it at SDCC 2013, he wasn’t in it. But Idris Elba let it slip that some time this summer, the two of them did a scene – ONE scene. This sounds like Marvel might want to cut Idris out as punishment for revealing secrets and needs a new scene to move Thor’s storyline along.

  2. InvaderTak says:

Nay. Unless it’s an after the credits cameo to tease the next thor or something. Loki is so far the only really good villain they’ve had and if they use him too much they’ll ruin him. People will get sick of him, just like they seem to be doing with iron man/Rdj.

  3. FranticallyBored says:

    Oh you beautiful man, you.

  4. ellesbelles says:

This is better than any black Friday sale. I watched Henry IV last night and took the final tumble into full on lust for this man.

Of course the marvel news is fab, im more happy to have a new post from which to fangirl to my little hiddle-belle hearts content for a bit.

    • joe spider says:

You may be a bit late to the game, but welcome – it was that one that pulled me in to start with – particularly the “I do, I will” scene in the tavern, and the following one with Jeremy Irons.

      • ellesbelles says:

        Yeah, recently converted 🙂

I knew who he was in passing. The jaguar commercial, first thor film. I should actually “blame” Benedict for the push in Toms direction and now I’m fully sprung

      • Lilacflowers says:

Ahem, and the sauna scene played no part?

      • joe spider says:

        Weeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll 🙂

Actually, PEDANT ALERT, I can remember thinking “he LIMPED off the battlefield at Shrewsbury (snow in July?) and then had a shoulder injury visible in the sauna when in fact he had an horrendous facial injury which should have killed him.”

Sorry I’m a bit of a history nerd. But it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of a sweaty near naked Hiddles. 🙂

Not to be read by the squeamish:

        http://www.medievalists.net/2013/05/20/prince-hals-head-wound-cause-and-effect/

      • ellesbelles says:

@ lilac the sauna scene sparked a few filthy dreams overnight. I have no complaints. The red leather coat didnt hurt either. At all.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@joe spider, well, Shakespeare did take considerable creative license with the whole story. Percy was also killed by an arrow, not by a sword in hand to hand combat with Hal and the two weren’t close in age at all.

It is amazing that Prince Hal survived that wound and the attempts to treat it.

    • icerose says:

@ellesbelles Welcome -it was Henry 1V that alerted me to the Hiddleston charm and talent

@Joe Spider so true but I forgave Eyre’s sin as soon as I saw him wearing nothing but a towel

    • TotallyBiased says:

I KNEW that Henry IV 1 & 2 would finish you off. There are just so many moments to lose yourself in. From “I know you all…” to the flat-footed table leap (and ensuing scene) to “Must I marry your sister?”. Watching him build the boy into a king, and having a bit of fun (along with Maxine Peak, in that one scene 😉 ) along the way is mesmerizing to me.

      • MtnRunner says:

Agree with all y’all on Henry IV. That is what sealed the deal for me. Hal in leather, Hal in a towel, the curls… (sigh)

      • ellesbelles says:

Now, what I want to know, since he so graciously was half naked for us, is is that his usual physique? I remember reading that he put on muscle for coriolanus, but I cant remember if he said he cut weight to play loki. To give the hollow look. Really I just was to see more chest shots.

And the curls, my god the curls.. I want to pull them

      • jammypants says:

@elles, you might not want to pull them since he’s losing hair :p More like tenderly run fingers through them haha!

It’s hard to say what his physique is really like. He was under weight for OLLA and gained muscle mass for Coriolanus (and during Wallander and Cranford when he was auditioning for the role of Thor). I’m assuming his Loki/Hal physique is his normal weight.

      • ellesbelles says:

@jammy oh dear losing hair! Well I’ll still fancy him regardless as long as he promised to smile and whisper naughty things in my ear.

I just wanted to add, Tom, you’re a runner, and I’m a runner, and I think we would make beautiful blond half English half American with all English origin gazelle babies. Id just like to put that out into the ether just in case.

      • joe spider says:

I read that Marvel told Tom they wanted Loki to be skinny side so I would guess that he is normally a bit more muscular than that – I would like him to stick to the Coriolanus body personally.

ellesbelles – it would be half American a quarter English and a quarter Scottish!

      • ellesbelles says:

Thanks for the clarification Joe! I forgot the Scottish bit (how dare I!) If we’re really getting down to brass tacks, they would be quarter English, quarter Scottish, and American with English and Scottish roots. Hope our clans didn’t hate each other. McIntosh for me through the Isom family tree. I fear if I go look at his, I’ve skidded out of fangirl territory into full on stalking, and that’s not my style!

      • jammypants says:

I actually think Tom is hotter bit more brawny than waify.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@ellesbelles, if you can deal with Chelsea Handler practically throwing herself at him, he explains what his usual weight/physique are and that he was at it when this was filmed. This was taped right around the time of TDW opening early November 2013, when everyone was saying he looked skinny on the red carpets. The Coriolanus rehearsal pictures (tight blue shirt, sword) came out just a week later, which is really not a lot of time to alter one’s body. I really think what he is wearing affects his appearance. A suit jacket covers all those lean muscles while the tight Coriolanus jeans and leather exposed them. The buttons on his shirt always seem to want to escape at chest level; that’s a hint at what’s hidden underneath.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOTxDSDBoko

      • ellesbelles says:

@lilac thanks darling! Ugh I can’t stand Chelsea but I’ll soldier through for Tom

    • Grace says:

Good thing I bought a dragonfly t-shirt today. I am gonna wear it to his films with pride. 🙂

    • Allegra says:

It is really better than black Friday!
But some people just can resist a good bargain, so here we have Loki out shopping in Stuttgart:

  5. Mia4S says:

Yawn. Call me when Marvel comes up with decent villain. So far their best has been this anti-villain with massive family issues who unleashes an army you defeat using the plot from the Phantom Menace.

Fingers crossed Ultron didn’t just have a rough childhood. 😉

    • **sighs** says:

All superheroes have rough childhoods. It’s a rule.

    • Dommy Dearest says:

Ultron kills The Avengers in the comics.
Loki has been made this pathetic anti-hero due to repeat business in fangirls and moviegoers. Comic Loki is badass and all bad things that happen to him, Loki brought upon himself (as well as not being attractive the way MCU Loki is)

This Disney-Marvel collaboration is a marketing scheme that is geared to bring in money. Women wouldn’t be so crazy for him if they played him parallel to the comics as far as motives and looks go.

      • aquarius64 says:

Agreed. And in the process story line and other characters are sacrificed. Marvel did reshoots in The Dark World to get more Loki onscreen (I don’t care how many times it’s been denied). That main villain Malekith was virtually sidelined (and what a waste of a good actor). There were deleted scenes from TDW that would have helped the plot. Shoehorning Loki and Tony Stark (in Cap 3 Civil War) is designed to put more butts in the seats and for repeat business.

      • joe spider says:

But I’m rather glad they didn’t.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Loki isn’t in Captain America 3. At least, not as far as they have announced. There are already far too many plot lines going in that one.

      • 'P'enny says:

@aquarias loki has 20 minutes of screen time in TDW – the scenes they needed to cut we’re jane & darcy😜

      • icerose says:

Without Loki I think Thor 2 would have suffered. He held it all together.
Even with the cuts Malekith would not have had a huge impact. It was the way Malekith was written and as good an actor as Eccleston is he would have had difficulty rising above it. Having them subtitled just made him more two dimensional,

      • Grace says:

@icerose, ITA. Thor 2 plot is so blah. I’m not familiar with the comic so I don’t know if they used storyline from there. But I always thought it was a complete waste of Eccleston’s talent as an actor to cast him as Melakith: a) you can’t tell who’s playing the character under the makeup; b) he speaks a language no one understands in a voice that sounds computer generated. It’s impossible to resonate with Melakith and you know pretty much since his first or second appearance he will not succeed, all the advance weaponry notwithstanding.

I for one am glad that Thor 3 will bring the story back to Asgard. Remember reading somewhere Natalie Portman won’t be in Thor 3, does that mean we won’t be seeing Jane and Darcy any more?

  6. Nikki says:

YES!!!! More Hiddles!!! I really find him SO much more charming than Benedict Cumberbatch.

    • Lilacflowers says:

While I do as well, can we please not compare them constantly? They aren’t inseparable

    • Mia4S says:

Oh! Oh! Can I play too? Ummm…Eddie Redmayne is SOOOO much more talented than Tom Hiddleston!!!

      😉

      • joe spider says:

Get thee hence wench. Although I do like Eddie too.

      • Allegra says:

        @joe spider:
LoL. I didn´t know what you meant so I had to search for the meaning. After i found the meaning , I had to agreed with you.

I like Eddie too. About the ToE, , I saw the movie and I think Felicity Jones deserves the Oscar nomination more than he does.

        @ Mia4S :
How come he is more talented than Tom?
Fortunately, we have several directors who do not agree with you, so much that they still want Tom to star in their movies.

      • icerose says:

I love Hiddles and both he and Redmayne are way more talented than Rocket Racoon and not quite as hairy

      • Mia4S says:

I can see my joke fell flat with @Allegra. 😉

Look Tommy’s got talent but every time I come in a thread of his someone is bringing up Cumberbatch for better or worse. The fangirl comparison game. So why not bring up Redmayne? How about Martin Freeman? He won an Emmy and Hiddles didn’t! Or Fassbender? Sooo much sexier! The point is there is no right answer to “best” or “best looking”. Personal preference + comparison = 200 pointless comments.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Mia4S, I’m just going to think about Harry Lloyd for a second. Okay, that was nice. Back to Tom.

      • icerose says:

@Lilac flowers I am right there with you. My little LLoyd has had some mouth watering moments but as yet he has not quite reached the same level as Tom, Cillian could get there if he continues down the route he is on

      • Allegra says:

        @Mia4S:
If this is the case, I apologize for my mistake.

    • icerose says:

@Nikki just mentally think it every time you see a Tom post and we will all receive the message loud and clear

  7. Miss Jupitero says:

Always good to see him, but I wonder if we are approaching Loki overload and if this could turn him into a one trick pony in the industry. I would prefer to see him doing other projects and broadening his range. This year was promising, I was beginning to
Like him again, but another round of the dancing bear might be too much.

    • icerose says:

I would as well but I think it has gone past the point of being an option. Loki has a huge following outside of Tom and I cannot see Marvel pulling back now. I think Ultron is very much a token appearance and I think Thor 3 would be a bit dull without it. But if the rumours re Avengers 3 are true he will be locked down for a substantial part of 2016 and 2018
He finished Hank mid December so apart from the two weeks in Januarys he will have another year to follow through on some of the rumoured projects and hopefully some stage work.

      • joe spider says:

Well, hopefully Skull Island will be next year – what do you think icerose? And of course we are waiting confirmation and dates for The Night Manager.

      • icerose says:

@Joe Spider The Night manager excites me more but Tom has a way of surprising you so Skull might prove to be something completely different.
i am hoping for a witty script and a leading lady with major flirting potential. I would really like to see him as a rakish leading man because I think he could really pull it off and bring the film to life and you know how he hankers after an Indiana Jones type role

    • 'P'enny says:

I don’t think we need worry too much, he’s lucky, if even if he is in Avengers 3/4 and I am not sure that is really confirmed yet. He will have all his Marvel stuff wrapped by the time he is 38. Not bad – prime age for a guy in acting world, its when they get to be really sexy and grown up. And, he will made his money that he could trot around the world doing Shakespeare for the rest of his life and be happy.

  8. Ellie66 says:

I like Hiddleston and the character Loki but they do need a bigger Villian. I really can’t understand all the hoopla over Cumberbatch though, he does have a lovely voice and is really tall but just doesn’t do it for me. But to each his own I’ve had some weird crushes before too, I had a crush on the annoucer from Forensics Files never saw him just his voice. Lol! 😉

    • fairyvexed says:

Hiddleston is actually an inch or two taller than Cumverpatch.

    • icerose says:

I think Tom will be either a support villain or even cross over sides over the next few films,

      • Lilacflowers says:

I think the AOU appearance is just a cameo to position Thor’s storyline. Although he is definitely in Thor 3, Loki in Avengers 3 is just speculation and all of them are several years away. Thor 3. Is the last film in Marvel’s phase 3 with Capt America, Ant Man, Guardians, and Dr. Strange all coming before it. It isn’t as if we’ll be getting annual Loki installments. As for Thor 3, I think after initial conflict, Thor will have to come to Loki’s rescue to save Asgard, a reversal of the last one.

    • jammypants says:

Not necessarily a villain, just canon. He’s a returning player in the MCU like all supporting players: Coulson, Fury, Black Widow, Stark, Pepper Pots, Selvig, etc.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Because, unlike villains who arrive from elsewhere with some dastardly plot, he actually is a family member of one of the superheroes. Like Stark will always have Pepper and Capt America will always have Peggy memories and Bucky Barnes, Thor will always have the Warriors 3, Sif, and Loki.

  9. Madly says:

Really quick question, who do you think has longer longevity between Tom and Benedict?

I think they are both talented, Tom just needs a better vehicle for himself outside comic book stuff.

    • jammypants says:

Good question. I think both do. If hollywood ends up driving Ben mad, he will always have UK-based work for the rest of his career, which is not a bad thing. As for Tom, I actually have no idea. Once his part in the MCU is over maybe it’ll be better to tell. MCU is a big hype machine and can have boosting effects to anyone’s career. If Ben gets Strange, it’ll do the same for him too.

    • lunchcoma says:

I suspect they’ll both work until they’re ancient. Both are closer to character actors than leading men, and both are willing to do television and stage work as well as movies.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I answered this on the other thread too. Why does there always have to be comparison between the two? They aren’t even contemporaries. BC’s contemporaries are Cillian Murphy and Colin Farrell, both of whom have had more diversity in their careers and both have talent. Murphy will have the longevity while Farrell will, sadly, burn himself out and BC is very talented at playing the same character. Throw Hardy, Fassbender, and Christian Bale into that mix as well – Bale is far and away ahead of all of them.

Tom’s contemporaries are Eddie Redmayne, Tom Mison, Ben Whishaw, Harry Lloyd.

      • 'P'enny says:

Not too forget Jude law & Ewan mcgregor & Daniel Craig British actors way ahead of all our 30- somet youngsters.

      • jammypants says:

I don’t think age matters, maybe age range or types of roles they compete for at best. Redmayne is getting a lot of comparison to Cumberbatch at the moment.

      • joe spider says:

I’m glad for Eddie because he had quite a lull after Les Mis.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Ah, McAvoy and McGregor! ! I knew I was leaving some people out.

    • icerose says:

I think Ben will move into smaller more serious roles over time because he does not have that leading man charisma
Tom and Ben Whishaw because of their versatility will continue to build d their careers.
Eddie will always be able to pick up interesting roles and age with grace,
OF all of them I think Tom and Cillian Murphy have the most potential to be leading me given the right roles. Both have versatility and leading men charisma and an intensity which makes them interesting. I do need to see Cillian in more films because I think the style of Peaky goes along way to giving him charisma in the way that Sherlock does for Ben. But he and Tom rock the loves scenes, , I do not think Ben Whishaw has the motivation to go down that route,
Colin Farrel has yet to prove himself despite being give lots of chances.
Hardy is catching up with McAvoy and Fassy but he always manages to impress you eve in disguise and Bale always manages to hit it even when it is a miss. Tom Mison still has a very long way to go-he is completely off my radar

    • Ava says:

Well Tom has three films coming out next year….none are comic. So I think he will be doing just fine. Can’t wait for Crimson peak!

      • icerose says:

@AVA not saying he is not doing well but up until now he has not been in the same league as the others. Peaky Blinders has a cult following which has put Cillian on the map plus I have gone back through his film catalogue and been impressed with its diversity. Tom is probably somewhere around Lee Evans level. He is getting good film roles but I have not seen enough to measure the extent of his talent and when I have seen him in something he has not stood out.
But that is just me I am sure people who follow him will feel diferently

  10. Dommy Dearest says:

    Probably a cut scene.
Loki won’t be in Avengers 3 (parts 1&2) given he dies during the Ragnarok run in the comics. For I don’t know, the millionth time.

Course he went on to possess the body of Sif then marvel did this whole kid Loki run that was awful. And given the masses that just think a female Loki should be included because female, Thor 3 should be the last time we see Tom as Loki. But then again cash cow is Disney and Marvel (and depending on who is directing the film) they may go a whole other route. But really, highly very highly unlikely Tom will be in anything past Thor 3 (despite the comics having Loki messing with the gauntlet and gems way before Ragnarok was triggered and that’s why there may be the slightest of all chances he appears later).

    • joe spider says:

Well Tom is rumoured to be in both parts of the Infinity Wars – which would take him to the 6 of his contract – for what that is worth.

      • icerose says:

My gut feeling is that when who ever it was revealed that Loki would be in Infinity they revealed a conversation they were not suppose to. It was something about the way they retracted without actually denying it,
Butt either way he wins. If all goes well next year he could be picking up more film work and having the time free will help his career ,If he is in it it cements his position as being more than just another Marvel villain and knowing To he will bring something else completely different to t Loki ‘s performance.

    • aquarius64 says:

When Sif came on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to get Lorelei, the reason for bringing her back alive threw me off: Odin’s orders. Loki is impersonating Odin now. Either Loki possessed Sif’s body while hunting Lorelei or Sif knows Loki’s on the throne of Asgard. The latter would be a hell of a twist.

      • Lilacflowers says:

No, Loki is still appearing to Asgardians as Odin and he is sending Sif and the Warriors 3 all over the place so they won’t be around long enough to figure out what is going on. At the end of TDW, he sent Sif and Volstagg to find the Collector to give him the aether. Once Sif got back, he sent her to find Lorelei. Loki didn’t want Lorelei loose to cause too much trouble on earth because it would bring too much attention, cause Thor to refocus, and end to his own reveal. So he sent Sif to get her fast before too much trouble was done and also got Sif out of his way for a while.

      • Isadora says:

Didn’t Loki and Lorelei have a fling at some point in the comics?

      • 'P'enny says:

Loki and Lorelei were lovers, but he was really mean to her and she moved on, eventually. Amora, her sister, in the comics was also his bit on the side but she stuck up for herself a lot more and Loki respected Amora more.

And, Sigyn just put up with his philandering ways. LOL!

not that i read the comics, LOL, just pick up the goss off other posters.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I don’t think Sigyn had much of a choice, what with him tricking her into marriage, killing her real fiance, fathering her kid, and Odin bestowing the title of “Goddess of Fidelity” on her.

      • Dommy Dearest says:

I freaking LOVE amora. It’s all distraction. Technically Loki should be planting the seeds to Ragnarok right now as far as what was mentioned above. He probably has Odin in some area that only he knows.

    • Lilacflowers says:

It leads to an error message.

      • joe spider says:

Oh 😕 it worked for me

It is from the imdb page for Tom:

think it’s great that everytime they obviously think it’s not perfect they want Tom as Loki to help out.

I bet the Powers of Be sat there thinking…”Ultron – great, super, smart villain, but… he’s just not Loki. – Back to the drawing boards guys, the film needs more kick.” Another $$$$$ by the millions to the BIG actors who wont get out of bed for less than a £1m for two weeks work.

        Kevin phones Tom…

“Tom…” Kevin F here. “Tom we didn’t mean it, when we said we wanted to kill you off for the third time and we didn’t want you in AoU. Please come back… we beg you. How much will it cost us mmmm???”

“A Shakespearean hug from joss” 😘
        “and no gold horns..”
“oh, and can I sing ‘Hey Good looking’ to the Hulk…
“and wear Cap America’s outfit again?”
“and get a slap off Scarlet.”

        Done deal..

oh, and some of those posh biscuits – I’m not that cheap.

      • icerose says:

@Joe Spider I love it,. You have to admit calling Tom back is a bit of a give away. If they had just called the others backed no one would have blinked an eye.
When I hit the link this is what came up

***”Rofl!!! The comments and the picture were indeed hilarious. Especially, those that said, I tried googling my name but Loki doesn’t appear really got to me. I think Robert is enjoying this a bit too much.

Can you imagine this is the scene they want to include in AOU? Lmao!

I don’t think anyone until their soul leaves their body is past the point of no return.-T. Hiddles

    • joe spider says:

Think what is happening with the link is when you look at it now it brings up the latest comment on that imdb thread. Sorry if it is confusing – I didn’t realise it would do that.

I’m guessing it’ll be a cameo or one of those spots at the end – just enough Loki to amuse, but not so much for him to get repetitive.

  12. ElleRob says:

I’m going to be disappointed if there are no new photos in Hiddleston in a tux come Monday. Really, every Monday should start with Hiddleston in a tux.

Also, am I the only one who noticed that Chris Evans is not included on that list?

    • Lilacflowers says:

Since the list doesn’t seem to come from Marvel itself, I wouldn’t read too much into it. James Spader and Samuel L. Jackson aren’t either.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Chris is here with me at the Celtics game.

      • 'P'enny says:

the ‘leak’ on the Daily Mail came from Baz B, nudge nudge Tom’s friend.

He is one of the judges for Evening Standard awards…. and he was the only reporter that interviewed Tom over Hank Williams role.

        “whistles…”

according to a naughty poster on IMBD 😉

      • Lilacflowers says:

@’p’enny, well, that certainly is possibly positive then, but I do hope that whatever Feige wants him to do doesn’t interfere with anything else he was planning to do but hadn’t announced yet (he actually hasn’t announced anything for next year) like Richard II or Night Manager.

That news is certainly more positive than the result of the basketball game I sat through but at least I did catch a glimpse of my other husband Chris on the jumbotron.

      • icerose says:

@P’enny and Baz gave him the worst review of the run. It was silly ,sarcastic and played on his Eton background but I think there was a female from the Daily Mail this year

      • icerose says:

@P’enny I think it is Georgina Brown from the Daily mail resigned last year -have you found a new list for this year

      • icerose says:

these are the ones left over from last year but I cannot find their replacenents
        – the Evening Standard’s Henry Hitchings; ; former Times critic Libby Purves; The ; The International New York Times’ Matt Wolf and the Standard’s Editor, Sarah Sands.

      • 'P'enny says:

That wasn’t Baz – it was daily mails idiot

      • icerose says:

@P’ENNY You are right it was Quenton Letts but Baz is not a critic he is their gossip /entertainment lead. But he did take Georgina’s place along with Paul Taylor from the Independent when the others resigned.
I guess the daily mail wanted to make sure they still had someone on the panel because the Times and Telegraph reps were not replaced.

    • joe spider says:

icerose – wasn’t it Quentin Letts who did that review in the DM? And he has history of trying to go against the tide I understand.

  13. Dara says:

I still think the odds are quite good for Tuxedo Tom making an appearance on Sunday. Kaiser linked to the Evening Standard list of presenters in the Cumby article and it sounds like it’s going to be quite the party. I’m slightly less optimistic at his chances for winning the award, but my fingers are crossed. Just to be safe, I’m starting to dust off my Dance of Joy routine in anticipation – it’s quite the spectacle, rarely seen but never to be forgotten by those lucky few that have witnessed it.

I Saw the Light still has a week or so of filming (I think), but some of the cast members have already wrapped and are saying their goodbyes on Twitter and Instagram.

    • Allegra says:

      It´s more 2 weeks left.
From @BronStudios: “If all goes according to plan, we should be wrapped our principal photography in the first week of December. :)”

    • icerose says:

I thought the date was mid December

      • Allegra says:

        @icerose:
You´re right. The first twiiter from BronStudios said until december 16th or 18th, but now when a fan asked again, they gave this answers.

By the way, what is principal photography?

      • Isadora says:

Principal photography is the actual filming, not pre- and post-production. So if principal photography is finished, then there’s the wrap party and that’s it – unless they find out in post-production that some scenes don’t work out the way they hoped or something is missing, then there are reshoots or additional material is filmed.

      • 'P'enny says:

Bron have tweeted again, they wrap end of first week of December. That’s end of next week.

    • 'P'enny says:

well someone posted on twitter/via tumblr a picture of a very cute baby and the Mum referred to him playing baby Hank W Jr.

I fit to burst with cuteness overload

he’s still filming kids – and Dara bets still on!!!!!!!! 🙂

  14. Allegra says:

This news is for those who missed the opportunity to see the interviews when they appeared on Torrila.
“Good news #TomHiddleston fans. Free interview (1/2) w/him from 2009 prior to his first film on #GlobePlayer on Monday “

  15. icerose says:

Look what happened when RDJ googled his own name
I do think it looks pretty hot and I may have to change my out look on RDJ. Loki on the other hand is just sizzling. Sighs -off to day dream.

    http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/3251256/robert-downey-jr-found-iron-man-loki-fan-fiction/

I can hear it now “I am going to be the first one to………………”

    • icerose says:

and there has been a sighting not sure how reliable of Tom at an airport
“my sister is a flight attendant and one of her flight attendant friends saw tom hiddleston in an airport pizza hut. can you imagine””

      • Ellen says:

Where did you find that @iceRose?

Hope we’re not going to have another benny scenario from Hiddles

      • 'P'enny says:

pizza hut? better be at the salad bar.

oh god fan girls 🙁 benny, tommy, eddy

I’m getting my train ticket and sleeping bag now. And, we know Benedict won’t do selfies. :-p

      • icerose says:

@Ellen the sighting was posted on Tumblr and the just Jared article and the tweet is in several Tom sights as well as tumble. RDJ twittered the picture himself and I assume JJ sight checked it first before posting
Not sure what you mean by benny scenario??

      • Miss Jupitero says:

Pizza Hut, Bennigans, Chili’s…. I do not like his taste in food. Come on Tom, at the airport there is at least Wolfram Puck options.

      • koko says:

It seems like a lot of travel for an award that your probably not going to win, in the midst of filming a movie. Kind of senseless, unless your looking for publicity. Any publicity.
Could be the “benny scenario”????? @Ellen is talking about.
        Maybe not.

      • Isadora says:

@koko: Of course it’s publicity, that’s what these award shows are for – to get publicity for plays, theatre, actors or in case of film awards for films, industry people, etc. Because otherwise they could just send the winners a letter and some money and be done with it. It wouldn’t be necessary to hold an intricate show at a special venue with famous people who present these awards to other famous people. And if you are nominated for something, I think it proofs that you have a good work ethic if you also show up, when it’s possible for you. Because the award people honored your work with a nomination, so it’s good when you also honor them by showing up and generating publicity. I’m sure a LOT of TH fans wouldn’t give two figs about the Evening Standard Awards if it weren’t for Tom. In turn it’s also good publicity for him, when he shows up on the red carpet. And honestly, if he would just seek attention, he could tweet pictures of himself all the time, call some journalists for interviews, call the paps, or whatever celebrities do to get attention. He wouldn’t have to take two trans atlantic flights on such a busy weekend for that alone.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@MissJupitero, depends on the airport and which terminal at the airport and sometimes all the seating is lumped together (and I’ve been underwhelmed with Wolfgang’s food several times – still haven’t forgiven him for my arugula and squash salad with goat cheese and lentils at the ICA that turned out to be a bowl of lentils with a few arugula leaves, a small cube of butternut squash, and no goat cheese in sight.)

@koko, he flew to London from Toronto for a three-day stay for the Olivier awards while filming Crimson Peak. If he wins, he gets the publicity any way without doing anything. While just about everything actors do is PR, sometimes, there is also a wish to show respect and gratitude to one’s co-workers and producers. Attending shows respect and gratitude to Josie O’Rourke and the Donmar, if nothing else.

      • icerose says:

@Koko it is the 60th anniversary and basically a chance for actors/directors to net work. It a holiday weekend in the States so chances are he had a weekend and for regular travellers it is not such a big trip,. It will be interesting to see how many of the nominees show up and a 1 out of three odds is not so bad.
It is also in the films interest to have their star at an awards ceremony where he is nominated as it helps give the film stature,
Besides which Tom has a huge love theatre and it probably gives hum a buzz to be there

      • icerose says:

@Miss Jupitero he has been living on salads to keep his weight down so maybe he just wanted something riddled with fat.

      • koko says:

I was simply trying to interpret @ Ellen “benny scenario” for @ icerose. I do understand about publicity but thank you for your descriptions.
I hope he takes the time and attends.

      • Miss Jupitero says:

Tut, tut ladies. I know you like him, but his tastes in food are consistently food court fodder.

      • Lilacflowers says:

@MissJupitero, I would agree but we really don’t know what he does at home in London and sadly, many places in the US have nothing to offer but food court fodder. I was saddened to learn that while driving through several states (8 hours through Montana alone!) and couldn’t find a restaurant that wasn’t a chain. We in greater Boston area have been fortunate that our area has been extremely unfriendly towards national chains, unlike many other parts of the country. And Tom’s food court level dining has all seemed to occur while in the US.

And Puck is pretty much a chain too at this point. I’ve been disappointed with his offerings at both ICA and the Museum of Science and one of his places in Florida.

      • MtnRunner says:

Dudes, who cares what he’s eating. Have a fried Twinkie on me, Tommy-boy.

He’s in a friggin’ airport on Thanksgiving. Tuxedo Tom is gonna grace these pages come Monday… woot woot!

      • Dara says:

        *high-fives @MtnRunner* you said it!

Although my inner pessimist is not excluding the possibility that he may just have snuck away for a long weekend in Palm Springs before finishing up ISTL. Hoping not – Tuxedo Tom is a creature rarely seen his natural habitat these days and confirmation he still exists in the wild would be welcome.

      • Ava says:

Just so you know after you slammed Tom for his eating habits….it was Tom Felton NOT Tom Hiddleston at the airport Pizza Hut. People wonder why Internet rumors get started. Remember icerose said she didn’t know how reliable it was….It was not TH

        http://nuggles.tumblr.com/post/103859732241

      • Dara says:

@Ava – I think that is the hardest I’ve laughed all day! Thanks for the link.

      • 'P'enny says:

may win this bet yet then, heheheee, wrong Tom at the airport.

      • MtnRunner says:

Hope springs eternal that Lord Dragonfly can still fly under the radar without being tweeted about. With a fried twinkie… 😉

    • Grace says:

Never jumped the ironfrost ship, but yeah that’s pretty funny.

    • icerose says:

We know that when making Avengers he use to have vegetable smoothness sent up to his room for breakfast and he was skinny then as well. But from other comments I have heard he probably eats heath food but lapses a lot when travelling or working erratic hours.

But it does seem he is off the hook re Pizza Hut but food speculation is always fun .

    • icerose says:

DARN IT -well there is still the first sighting fingers crossed

  16. Allegra says:

Since Damian Lewis has nominated BC, Tom and Sienna Miller for #EBtonguetwister challenge, i´m hoping for a video to come out in the next couple days.

  17. ellesbelles says:

Im watching the Kenneth Branagh version of Much Ado about Nothing, and I know this play has been flogged to death, but I would love tom in the benedick role. Could you imagine the sass and smile?

  18. ellesbelles says:

Its perfection for him. Beatrice has always been my favorite. Im very like her. Independent and a bit cynical

    • MtnRunner says:

Much Ado was my first exposure to Shakespeare and I felt an immediate kinship to Beatrice as I’m much like her as well.

  19. amberj says:

Does Tom have an eating disorder?

  20. aquarius64 says:

I still think Hiddleston is put in for fan service, making sure his hard core fans show up and pay the $10 – $15 bucks. The thing is, this becomes a crutch for Marvel, no effort to be made on the plot, just throw Hiddleston in. But even that gets old after a while, and the time will come to finally pull the plug on Loki. Loki is not an anti-hero; he’s a straight up villain: attempted regicide, usurping Asgard’s throne, alien invasion, triggering Ragnarok which may lead to genocide, the list goes on. Loki has done too much to not finally answer for it. A fitting end that Loki pays the ultimate for his crimes: Odin’s original sentence – death by beheading.

    • icerose says:

I think Loki will go when his contract runs out and they have to give him a pay hike, But until then he will be a regular fixture in some of the movies and as in the comics his character and motivation will go through many twists and turns.
Generally fans do not go to the Evening standard Awards but may show up for the Red Carpet . I am not even sure it is open to the public. It is one of the oldest theatre awards going back to Olivier’s time and although it had lost some of its prestigiousness the theatre world still shows up to be wined ,dined and seen.

    • 'P'enny says:

aren’t all the actors and characters in sequel popular films in it for fan service? he’s been put in because somewhere along the way – the character is needed as a link somehow. these films need to make huge money, they can’t afford not to put in popular actors if they makers feel it needs it somewhere. Avengers 2 has cost a fortune to make.

at the end of the day, it’s a cameo 5 mins of screen time max, i’m a heavy Loki fan but i’ll wait for the scene to be leaked on Youtube.

      • Lilacflowers says:

I’ll be in my seat at the cinema opening night, unless there’s a Celtics playoff game, which is highly unlikely. If I could buy advanced tickets now, I would. The creepy version of the Pinocchio song and the ballerinas in the trailer hooked me. And I do have to support both my husbands. Although if there is a playoff game, the first one might be at it with me.

      • Isadora says:

Yes to the ballerinas in the trailer. They might have won me over.

      • aquarius64 says:

@ P’enny et al – A studio should NEVER rely heavily on one actor to get butts in the seats. The story should be the draw. If anything were to happen to Hiddleston (or RDJ) – especially if their names are tied to a heinous, box-office-damaging scandal, Marvel would have to scramble to get a plan B together. It would not be the same as Scarlett Johannsen’s pregnancy – there would have been backlash if they let her go. Never put all your eggs in one basket – that is what Marvel is doing. Besides, Hiddleston still has to prove he can get open a movie outside the MCU at #1 . If his movies don’t, then he’s typecasted. No average movie-goer doesn’t want to see him unless he’s playing Loki. And that can impact hiring by other studios and in turn his career.

    • Lilacflowers says:

The MCU can do what it wants with the characters it has under license and it is all fan service to the fans of the MCU, who are not necessarily the same people who buy the comics.

  21. Ellen says:

Fingers crossed he’s there. By Benny scenario I mean by what he’s doing recently. The shameless PR, being rude and moody, moaning about private life but purposely adding speculation to it, you all know what I mean. One benny is enough for a life time.

I like the bouncy true to himself and everyone else Hiddles I think that’s part of the reason why people are drawn to him. That and he’s good looking and a great actor

@lilacFlowers how’s married life? Have you got rid of the other wife yet?

    • 'P'enny says:

      @ellen

a loki slap heads your way.

Lilacflowers can never get rid of me… *evil laugh*

    • Lilacflowers says:

Married life is fine, Ellen. I got to spend some time with my other husband Chris yesterday, even though I was in the balcony and he was down in the loges, we were at the same basketball game. Tom is either at Rodney’s in a tryptophan trance or with ‘P’enny preparing for the Evening Standard Awards. We’re keeping people guessing. Here, ‘P’enny, have a cup of coffee (laced with absinthe). He’ll be back at work early this week and home here for Christmas.

  22. joe spider says:

Hey they’ve even got his Muse of Fire interview in the Guardian now

    http://www.theguardian.com/stage/video/2014/nov/29/tom-hiddleston-shakespeare-video

    • Grace says:

First interview: hand porn; this one: face and neck porn.

    • Allegra says:

This is cool, students from London’s leading drama schools(LAMDA, RADA, …) will attend the ceremony tomorrow.
‏From @RADA_London: “Of course, I mean 2morrow! RT Our students @eveningstandard #Theatre Awards tomorrow as well as 3 grad nominees.”

    • Allegra says:

I saw 20 minutes of this interview and the rest we had to wait until next year.
I wonder the person who made this GIF used part of this interview because Tom was wearing the same clothes:

      https://twitter.com/Loki_Page/status/532434881197129729

    • Lilacflowers says:

No hands in this one. But he moves constantly and the chair is moving constantly. Maybe they tied his hands down and he still couldn’t sit still.

    • ellesbelles says:

I’m a sucker for any interview. I prefer these types, where he just speaks. Many of the press junket ones for Thor and Avengers and such are gimmicky and awkward because they have to be interviewed 20, 30 times and the interviewers dont know what to ask besides clunky questions about the film, but this, this was lovely.

*ETA the globe interviews, because apparently I’m s**t at actually responding to comments. I blame Tom. Bad Tom, go to my room

      • Grace says:

Don’t know if you’ve seen the one with Nerd HQ (2013), still answering fan questions and some of the questions you probably heard before from other interviews, but it’s a lengthy one, and you can find a version that’s his answers only on YT.
Also there is another he’s done with Studio Q talking about OLLA, half an hour long, a more serious tone than the usual. Shame the host turned out to be a sleazy bag.

      • Isadora says:

He was so pretty when doing Nerd HQ. 🙂 I also highly recommend Times Talks Madrid!

      • ellesbelles says:

@grace I’ve watched the NerdHQ one a few times, mostly for tom, but also because im a fan of Zach Levi as well. Of course he talks about shakespeare, and the velociraptor is hilarious as well. I love when he does impressions. I couldnt mimic someones voice like that!

      • Oh Hey says:

When he said he took a play and sat for a whole day to read it, I realized why I know nothing about Shakespeare and never read. Who has time to sit and read for a whole day? Not me…..if he came over and mowed my lawn and tended my gardens I’d have a lot more time on my hands though….

      • Grace says:

Hush, hush, don’t let Dr. Benedict or Mr. Cumberbatch hear you. Reading is the most nutritious, you see? 😉

      • ellesbelles says:

@OH I can think of worse ways to spend a snow day than lounging about while Tom reads me Shakespeare. 😉

I have all of the plays in a volume, but for me it really is more beautiful as live theater, or on film. The book is a very heavy paperweight on my shelf

      • Grace says:

@ellesbelles, tell me about it. The text is so dry on paper.

      • ellesbelles says:

@Grace but only if you stare out a window as well 😀 and god forbid you take a selfie while doing it

      • Allegra says:

        @ellesbelles
Another good interview is Nerdist with Tom. There is no video, just audio.
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ4R_H_QtqM

      • Oh Hey says:

I listen to Mssrs B&T wax on about literature, poetry, plays, theater, and I feel like I’ve wasted my life and I am a complete dolt. Until I realize that I’m not a sitter and reader, I’m a get up and doer. I can tell you the botanical name of every plant in my garden and how to take care of it, every variety of tomato and veg in my garden and all their characteristics, tell you how to clean and dress a wound on a horse or a dog, how to ride (like not with your hands, boys), what animal body language means – I know some shit. Just not the same shit they know, but I’m learning because I think one should be well rounded. And have something to lust over. And if that’s what it takes… 😉

      • Oh Hey says:

Oh, and there’s no way I would take a freakin’ selfie doing ANY of those things…

      • Oh Hey says:

I love the nerdist interview, that’s why he’s perfect for me, we like all the same things, he mentioned all my favorite comedies, Blackadder, The Office, etc. Sorry ladies. I think he’s mine…. ;D

      • Grace says:

@OhHey, wow, such cool things you know. Don’t feel bad not knowing what they know. I bet they can’t do what you can do.

@ellesbelles, lol, where I am from, if someone is staring out a window in a film (which happens a lot), it’s usually an indicator of loneliness and longing for human interaction. Don’t know what Benny boy is trying to say with that one. I had no idea the moody, artistic type was coming into fashion again. It’s kind of a strange narrative to take on, if you get my drift. I generally like guys better when they’re nerdy but on a more communicable level. *wink* *wink*

      • ellesbelles says:

You guys are killing me with all of the good interviews! Its making delicious background noise for my internetting today. I’m actually looking at the immigration process to the UK (my love of a certain number of british gents aside. #nostalker) Its actually been a life long dream to live and work in london. Its a bit disheartening though, reading about the visa process and how truly hard it is to do it, not to mention flat rentals are on par with selling a kidney. I’m not giving up hope!

      • Grace says:

@ellesbelles, actually there is another I quite like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RV7XZn8mpU
Richard Curtis teased the hell out of Tom in that one.

      • icerose says:

@ellesbelles I actually like listening to Shakespeare as well. There is a CD of Othello with Tom, Ewan and Chiwetel Ejiofor and it is pure voice pr0n. It also brings out the text more,
It’s so much harder to get a visa for the UK than it use to beMy niece has a residency visa but it is very expensive.
My daughter got he Canadian citizenship based on my citizenship and it came through in a few months and cost something like £300 -in the UK citizenship is about £2000 and very long winded.

      • Allegra says:

        @Oh Hey:

First, there is no need for fight because Tom has a big heart, so we all can share.
Second, I love that interview too.
Third, people often have different interests, some like physical activities and other like intellectual activities. There is nothing wrong with that.
I love flowers and gardens , but I also like to spend the day reading a book.

      • Oh Hey says:

14:30 in the interview with Richard Curtis is my favorite part, and may I say, he is heartstoppingly gorgeous in this one. Golly….. And his voice. Cumby’s voice used to do it for me but I really much prefer Tom’s, it’s like silk. Yikes. Listen to me…..

      • ellesbelles says:

I’ve gone and watched Coriolanus again. Why? I think I’m a masochist. He’s brilliant but its so difficult. I end up feeling bruised and battered by the end, which is the point yet I’ve gone and done it willingly

      • Oh Hey says:

I’m guessing Benny’s “looking out the window” thing is that maybe he desires a whole lot more peace and quiet in his life where he can do that, uninterrupted and unobserved. I wouldn’t wish the fishbowl on anyone.

      • ellesbelles says:

@OH I agree completely about Otter. I throw a little mocking his way about the PR disaster of TIG and Sophious but deep down I cant help but still get the flutters. I cant turn my back on him no matter how blowhard he sounds lately. Sherlock is/was a double edged sword that catapulted him into major mainstream fame, and unleashed a flood of crazy women his way. Loki has done the same with Tom, but somehow he is better equipped mentally, emotionally… I dont know. I hope that whatever is happening resolves itself and Otter isnt too damaged by the fallout.
Interviews in People and Hello and the Daily Fail just seem to chip away at the foundation

      • Oh Hey says:

I hate to say it but I think Otter is a crash and burn waiting to happen. I think he is mentally and emotionally much more fragile than Tom, for whatever reason, and all this PR shit and an apparently screwed up relationship if that’s what you can call it is going to take him down and hard. If she’s not PG (or even if she is) I think he has been impulsive and convinced himself that this is what he wants when it clearly isn’t anything like what he has always said he’s wanted. He can’t keep this shit up forever.

      • Isadora says:

Yes, people have such different skills, I think it’s great! It would be boring if we were all the same. I’m probably of a more cerebral nature, give me arcane literature any day of the week, but I would be seriously overwhelmed with tending a garden. Even my pot plants die (and I feel horrible every time), I even managed to kill a cactus. So yes to the latin names of plants, but no to actually growing them. 😉 And I would probably faint if someone had a severe wound. Oops.

But I love to hear Tom speak about film, theatre and his love of Shakespeare because even if your interests are in that direction, you hardly talk about stuff like that in everyday life, which I find rather sad. However it’s great that the stuff he says is interesting to me because otherwise I would totally fall asleep every time he speaks – his voice is just so incredibly soothing. It’s like listening to a purring cat or something like that. Wonderful and very relaxing.

yes he has enjoyed acting across from Tom but he did imply . love the hillbilly poet laureate but he does imply his role as musical director may not be finished yet
“The very next morning I arrived in Shreveport, Louisiana where I made my way onto the set of I Saw The Light. I was happy to find Tom Hiddleston looking Hank Williams gaunt and sounding eerily like some kind of hillbilly poet laureate. Lizzie Olson, Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford and Maddie Hasson were there and in character and the cameras were rolling. I soon realized that my job as music producer was temporarily done and happily settled into watching these skilled actors bring writer/director Marc Abraham’s screenplay to life.
Before long, I was given a chance to try my own hand at acting. Harshly made-up, a slicked-down haircut reminiscent of my own father’s, and ill-fitted in a drab, brown suit, I spent a day playing (opposite Tom) Lon Williams – Hank Williams’s estranged (some say deadbeat) father. At long last I was able to put the dreaded Crowell/ Willoughby sense of shame and disentitlement to proper use. Thanks to the wardrobe department, genetic memory, the film’s director and lead actor, my portrayal of Lon, I’m told, rang true.”

      • Oh Hey says:

Rodney sounds like a peach, I would love to meet him. I wonder if that means he’s going to be involved in the post production of the music sequences, and not necessarily coaching Tom. Seems to me that must be mostly done by now, if they’re done filming by the first week in December.

      • icerose says:

yes -might be to do with editing the musical side as well or putting the soundtrack CD together if they are having one.

      • Oh Hey says:

Gosh, soundtrack never occurred to me – wonder if our little Sweetpea will be nommed for any Grammys? This could get really interesting next year!

      • Lilacflowers says:

Music usually needs work post-production on any movie.

      • ellesbelles says:

        soundtrack…

I dont know if my little hiddle-belle heart can deal, lol

        I’m overdosing over here!

      • joe spider says:

Glad you got it folks, I wasn’t able to post the link……

      • TotallyBiased says:

I googled Rodney Crowell for some biographical details (he’s written a memoir of growing up in tough times, in a tough part of town) and he really does sound as if he has the background to inhabit Lon Williams!
My favourite might be a five year old Rodney firing his daddy’s gun to break up a New Year’s fight between his parents.

      • icerose says:

@TotallyBiased a poor boy who made good, I am planning on getting the book when my current reading list decreases a bit. He seems to do a lot of music producing along side his own musical career, He produced a lot of Roseanne cashes LP I really like his and Emmylou’s new CD
.i would love to have been a fly on the wall when he and Tom were together.I think they are both pretty smart men with a passion for music.

  24. ellesbelles says:

    :/

Made the mistake of venturing into the dark abyss of tumblr, with gossip bits about our Tom being a bit of a cad with the ladies. Mostly on town bicycle. Icky. I never believe everything I read on the internets but I should know better than to go to tumblr. I’ll stick with charming youtube interview Tom

    • joe spider says:

We refer to it as that site ellesbelles – it is toxic and to be honest quite libellous.

    • icerose says:

Mostly just people letting off steam or taking delight it writing negative things about him. None of the tea is verified. You can pretty much make up anything you like under the anon umbrella. My thinking is if you can not say it on an open forum which allows a constructive discussion it ain’t worth a rotten apple.
I suspect he has lots of flings we know nothing about but why wouldn’t he. He is an attractive man, funny and charming and he knows how to pick women who keep there mouths closed which is what he wants.

      • Catherine says:

” if you can not say it on an open forum which allows a constructive discussion it ain’t worth a rotten apple”
I’m sorry Icerose but from what I’ve seen on these threads recently if anyone makes the slightest criticism of Hiddles they get jumped on, that doesn’t make for an honest discussion.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Oddly, that blog has been kinder, or at least more neutral, towards Tom since the filming of #IStL began. It may be because some of the more dastardly stories were proved false, and the owner of the blog has taken a step back. Or it may be because the anons send in stories even more outrageous than anything TOBY originally posted, and so ‘she’ is seeming more neutral and letting the anons say the crazy stuff. Hard to say.

Since it really would be impossible for someone to be as much of a horror as some of those anons say without it coming out at the seams (imo) I discount it as bad fanfic from some very confused libidos.

We all know he really isn’t a Disney Prince (that grew out of fans writing their own marysue stories as well, again imo) but I’m sure he is quite human. He seems to exhibit almost superhuman patience sometimes (a middle child thing?) and I think part of his eager to please persona comes out of him feeding off of energy fans aim at him.
That said, you know he must have cracked a beer and told his friends ‘I wish they’d all f*** off!” at least once. Venting, y’know, and one wouldn’t blame him. Don’t we all feel that way about someone or some group of people in our lives at some point?

    • Ellen says:

Ah that tumblr site! There isn’t a single person on here they haven’t accused of with being a ‘nanny’ I’ve given up with laughing at it now, best way is to ignore it.

Although I did find it interesting that they think you-know-who could be a PR stunt like Benny’s OctoSophie. One way I hope it is because she’s odd and sounds to me she just wants the fame that goes with him 🙁
But I really want to see our Hiddles at some point probably when his career is more settled with someone who he truly loves and can shout about from the roof tops.

I’m getting conflicting reports that he’s finished filming.

I’ve also read that HW didn’t meet his dad as an adult so how can Rodney be in the same scene as hiddles?

If hiddles is going to the awards and is reading this can you wear a different never seen before suit? That alone would get people talking and put Benny-tryhard to shame

      • joe spider says:

“If hiddles is going to the awards and is reading this can you wear a different never seen before suit?”

        Preferably not floral!

      • philae says:

If he wanted to do a PR stunt (and he doesn’t seem like the type) he would have found another celeb. Hiddleston didn’t have a problem being seen with Miss Arthy, only with people thinking she was his gf.
But if you want an actual, interesting fact found at that site to build conspiracy theories on, Clint Mansell said recently in an interview that Ben Whitley asked him to score High Rise 🙂 (Miss Arthy is Mansell’s manager)
        http://www.hitfix.com/in-contention/composer-clint-mansell-on-noahs-connections-to-the-fountain-and-working-with-darren-aronofsky/3

      • Ellen says:

Hiddles wouldn’t have any involvement in choosing who does the film score. I doubt they would’ve chosen him because you-know-who asked hiddles to suggest one of her acts. If that is true that alone somewhat proves she’s after his fame and connections. It would also show that Hiddles is easily manipulated which I don’t think he is.

Lets hope Hiddles brings another young lady friend to the red carpet. One with less smoke around her.
Or maybe he could bring the wives lilacflowers and ‘p’enny

      • Oh Hey says:

He could bring me, and my dress isn’t even floral, it’s velvet and we know how our Tommy loves velvet.. 😉

      • Catherine says:

Philae, the Wimbledon outing looked like pr to me and maybe she thought it was a real date (that’s one theory).

      • icerose says:

@EllenI read somewhere that his dad to appear after he became famous but nothing came of it. Trouble ii cannot remember where I read it.

      • icerose says:

@Ellen I agree I think it is very unlikely he had any say in the music. I think Wheatley is very conceptual in his approach and pretty much has it mapped out,. And even if he did there is nothing to prove it was JA linked anyway.

      • icerose says:

I think if he comes he will come alone or with family. I kind of like his independence and the fact that he does not feel he has to have someone with him.
For me the whole JA thing has been discussed too death and just becomes repetitious. They are both grownups and get to choose how they live their lives together or apart, I do not have the need to rip her to shreds because I have not seen enough to know what she is like or even a framework in which to evaluate her behaviour,

    • Grace says:

Some of their arguments seem nitpicking and contradicting at best. It’s almost as if they want him to announce that he is *possibly* seeing this woman but they *may not* be serious. Why would he admit to something like that? On one hand, they say even if she’s a fwb he should still bring her to events; on the other, no, but she’s just a fwb because they don’t approve. What’s with that logic? I don’t know this guy other than the side he shows to the public either, but I don’t see how being careful with his image makes him a narcissistic control freak. Ill repute can reflect badly on anyone in any profession. Not to mention he’s an actor and a celebrity, in a PG-13 movie franchise. And the idea of Tom and his people posting as anons just makes me laugh. It’s possible. I mean I don’t know. I would think they’re smart enough not to engage though. Why feed the wrath if they’re gonna say bad things about you either way? – I guess by saying all that I just outed myself as a nanny. LOL.

      • Catherine says:

Grace, it seems to me that the criticisms of the woman concerned are that she appears to be a famewhore, and she was trolling fans on twitter. Most of what you’ve just said could equally be applied to BC, the vitriol towards his SO have been awful IMO.

      • joe spider says:

Don’t worry Grace, I think a lot of us will be outed as nannies tonight. But I’d rather be a nanny than a liar. 🙂

      • icerose says:

@Grace the idea that he or JA are anons is about the only thing I actually find amusing on that sight -other wise it tends to in circularly repetitious,
But if some people like to go and post anonymously that he is this and that so be it.Ultimately it comes down to speculation and fantasy,
The one thing I do find petty is the stalking of some his fans which borders on bullying and self righteousness. It is just a mentality I find difficult to understand

@JoeSpider Welcome to the nanny club. Membership requirements are intelligence, wit, common sense and life experience. No stalking of anyone but Tom allowed and no use of sexist, ageist or bigoted name calling but word play and sexual innuendos are always permitted . I fly my granny flag with pride.

      • Ellen says:

HaHa us nannies unite .However I really don’t think any of us are sad enough to waste our time posting on that site.

In regards to Sophie I’ve not really seen anything that backs up that she’s been mean to Benny’s fans and its more the other way around.
With you-know-who there has been a lot and yes the twitter on other more reliable sites, I myself wasn’t aware of it until its posted on here. No smoke without fire.

I don’t think that Hiddles future wife would have an easy ride although it would help both if there was still no smoke around her.
Hiddles would certainly handle it better than Benny.

      • icerose says:

@Catherine if that is what people want to believe then fair enough but to be honest it has been discussed infinitum and ultimately it comes down to individual perception. And for me anyway there are far more interesting things to discuss but if other want to get into it that is up to them.

      • joe spider says:

@icerose Thank you for your kind welcome – describes me to a T so we are obviously kindred spirits. I did try to post a Tom with a flag pic but it went on holiday…..
        😕

      • Oh Hey says:

Ellen, I bet if it looked like a real relationship and that Hiddles was truly crazy about the woman, it would be no big deal except for the teenyboppers who still think they’re going to marry him. People are mean and disrespectful on social media, so there are always going to be people who tear someone apart because they can but I don’t think it would be very many of them. Like I said in a post that was deleted for some reason, it would be beyond my comprehension for a person I didn’t know to come up to me and start asking personal questions about the state of my relationship, is it serious, is it headed for the altar, yet celebs are expected to endure this and answer the questions, no matter if they want to be public or not. I like the ones who enforce boundaries, he seems like he would.

      • icerose says:

I think how people would react if he got engaged would very much depend on how it is approached and who it is and how many pretentious videos they have made, If he picks his women like his films I expect diversity may be the key so we may all be surprised.

      • icerose says:

@Joe Spider you are welcome. Don’t forget your walking frame and spectacles in case of a sighting tonight but I am beginning to have my doubts unless he has boarded the plane as Dark Vader. Now a true stalker would be sitting at he airport departure lounge in the hopes that he did not bother with VIP route.

    • Oh Hey says:

He’s a gorgeous young man, presumably with a sex drive, he’s charming, funny, it would be a complete waste to think of him being alone all the time. It seems to me that when he’s been in a serious relationship, he’s been open about it and affectionate toward that person in public, and when there isn’t anything ‘to write home about’, he says nothing. What else could people want except to pry into every situation with the worst of insinuations that he’s a cad. He’s a MAN, for pete’s sake, not a saint, but I think he does a pretty good job of controlling his image and his life and treating people with decency. I would not want to attempt to meet or date anyone new with three hundred iphones trained in my direction.

    • Lilacflowers says:

The site is just pure fan fiction, easily rebutted, that exists so the site holder can bash other women and call attention to herself. And it is boring.

    • ellesbelles says:

I’m sure there are one or two lucky fwb’s that hes got. Hell I’ve got one of my own, it was just really off putting to have strangers be so crude about it. Theres nothing crude about sex or someones private life. Nobody expects anyone to live like a monk between partners. No more tumblr for me. What a black hole of crazy

  25. joe spider says:

How long do you think it will take Tom to stop talking in a “hank” accent when he gets home>

    • Ellen says:

Until he need an American accent for Skull island, French-English mix accent for Richard ii, that accent he uses for loki which I believe his made up accent.

His mom and sisters will have a hank sounding Hiddles for Christmas lol

    • icerose says:

if he won and made his acceptance speech with a southern accent I would find it really funny.

    • Lilacflowers says:

The minute he says hello to his mother.

  26. Oh Hey says:

RE: Evening Standard awards, why only 3 noms for Male Lead, and 5 for women? Not enough plays?

    • joe spider says:

      And no Tennant or Law.

    • icerose says:

Rory was definitely out of the time fame and Tennant as well because it was originally at the RDS before it reached London and Law because of its original opening date may have fallen out side it as well. However Richard Armitage got great reviews so I am surprised he was not included.
To be honest I do think Tom has 2 things against him. One is the fact that it was on very early in the New Year and two it is another Shakespeare and Rory and Adrian one last year for Othello and my guess is they may want something a bit broader,

      • Ellen says:

Rory should just get the award for being nice as well as his talent. Richard was good too and I’m surprised he wasn’t nominated.

I think rose from doctor who will win (don’t know her real name sorry) she really impressed the hardcore theatre sec.

Yay, does that mean he’s going to the awards? I need more details……

    • 'P'enny says:

      Dara 😜 I think I’ve lost – actually this is a bet I don’t mind losing. 😃❤️

      • Lilacflowers says:

Take good care of him tonight, ‘p’enny! Be sure he gets plenty to eat but no spills on any pretty suits. This means pictures of Tuxedo Tom tomorrow. Now, off to see The Messiah! Tuxedo Tom and the Hallelujah chorus, my Christmas season has officially begun!

      • 'P'enny says:

Oh lilacflowers I’m having a row with tuxedo tom cause he refuses to wear his tux. 😂 he’s determined to go wearing that fedora and blue shirt – he says he’s been in this outfit for 4 months and hed sticking to with it. So I’m ripping off the shirt & underneath he has the blue tshirt arrgh . And now it’s turning into a fight over the black cardigan & leather jacket 😁 I need help – oh mark strong has come in and helping to tie him to bed…. Get him dressed of course 😜

      • Oh Hey says:

‘P’enny, we really want a velvet tux….tell him I said so and to stop being so stroppy.

      • Dara says:

It’s okay ‘P’enny – I think a Tuxedo Tom sighting makes us all winners!

    • icerose says:

@Allegra I hope you are not teasing as my starved fannish fanning heart cannot take.
I think I may just have seen one of family members on a Midsummer Murders repeat. Now I will have to watch the credits.

I heard they were being televised on some London TV station owned by the Evening Standard??

    • Grace says:

Hang on, are we positive it’s him this time?

    • ellesbelles says:

I hope this is a legit sighting! Tuxedo Tom on a Monday morning is what I will need. I am starting to really get bored with my job. Its a means to an end of being able to save a lot of money to move overseas

I was replying to @icerose, as in SH’s there because she’s in the theatre crowd. The dress… is okay. It’s a dress made out of what looks like decadent curtain fabric. She’s slender enough to make it look okay, I suppose. Doesn’t excite me or anything.

Really looking forward to the press photos – the Twitter and Instagram shots are nice, but they’re not really doing justice to how good everyone must look.

*fingers crossed for Tom to win*

  44. Elina says:

Ouch, Tommy 🙁 you gotta take a good care of yourself, my man. NOT a good look. Imagine Olivier Awards and this, makes me feels like this two occasions are years apart.

    • ellesbelles says:

I agree, but we know that shooting is either done or about to wrap, and he can put a little weight on for the alleged loki shoots, and then a little more when that is done.

My female instincts are on overdrive wanting to feed him, and I’m sure I’m not alone.

I really hope he wins. What a feather in his cap. Coriolanus was fantastic. I felt bruised and battered after each time I watched it, which is probably what is supposed to happen.

I’ve been following #Eveningstandardtheatreawards on twitter and its primarily tom pics lol

      • icerose says:

yes me to and he looks tired as well. It must have been a taxing shoot.

      • Oh Hey says:

You’re not alone….everyone wants to cuddle and feed poor Tom. Not that he wouldn’t like that, I’m sure.

      • 'P'enny says:

ding dong there are some brilliant sexy photos of him now on Twitter! didn’t realise he has scruff! he didn’t shave LMAO! ? red scruff and dark hair, strange combo, but he looks delish with that side-smile pic.

      • Grace says:

Yes! Side profile and close-shot, he’s looking cheeky and hot. Can you say someone’s looking cheeky?

      • icerose says:

yes that is the best picture so far-but look out for one where he hugs Luke he just loos happy to see him.

      • Oh Hey says:

Definitely the best shot – sexy mofo…….

    • jammypants says:

Luckily he should be done soon. The we’ll see him at a healthy weight. I remember he looked horribly gaunt during the OLLA filiming, then looking rather healthy soon after when he jumped into TDW filming.

      • Oh Hey says:

Really? I thought he looked incredibly good in OLLA, didn’t see him skinny there at all, unless you compare it to Coriolanus where he gained so much muscle. There are pics online of his naked back in both those things and the difference is night and day.

      • Isadora says:

It really depends on the angle, I think? Because I remember the pics when he met fans in Cologne during OLLA and he looked very thin in them. But in OLLA itself he looked absolutely fine (and gorgeous).

Happy to see that Tuxedo Tom made it for the awards and that he got quite a rousing welcome from the fans. Did anyone else get chanted??

No one is mentioning that JMac is there too! We need more of him AND Hiddles.
