Keira Knightley’s husband James Righton has been by her side throughout the awards season. It’s sort of sweet – I thought she was marrying some hipster rocker, but it turns out that he can wear a nice tuxedo and fulfill his arm candy destiny. These are some photos of Keira and James at last night’s BAFTAs. Sigh… I dislike her Giambattista Valli dress. I mean, I’ve been giving her a pass for the most part because she’s pregnant and it’s obviously thrown off her style mojo, but I think we just have to make our peace with the fact that Keira has worn a series of really terrible clothes throughout this awards season. It’s not her – she’s lovely. But the clothes suck. This Giambattista Valli looks like a poorly designed party dress, and it’s not right for the BAFTAs.
Here are some photos of Keira and James at Saturday night’s pre-BAFTA reception at Kensington Palace. Keira wore Chanel Resort 2015. Something nice… I like the colors. Something not so nice… LOOK AT THE DUST RUFFLE HEM.
And here’s Reese Witherspoon, flying solo at the BAFTAs and the Kensington Palace event. At the BAFTAs, Reese wore this rather gorgeous purple Stella McCartney gown. It really suits her and she looks great. I totally don’t have any complaints about this look at all.
At the KP event, Reese wore Chanel. I don’t care for the sleeves/shoulders on this dress, and her hair wasn’t that great.

ha ha I just can’t with Reese. There’s something about our resident AMERICAN CITIZEN that annoys me, no class or style. Just nice clothes. I think that’s why I like Keira better, even with the dust ruffle

I’m with you too. Ever since I saw Reese on Graham Norton’s show I’ve disliked her. No sense of humor and not intelligent; just snooty.

Seriously, that eggplant dress is SO BORING! I like both of Keira’s dresses better even though the Chanel dress is pretty bad. At least it’s interesting!

Agree. She looks stunning in the purple. I didn’t think Keira looked bad, and her face is always gorgeous, but her style has been pretty lame throughout her pregnancy. Very Bo-Peep.
How come the guys get away with wearing boring suits and are never mocked for wearing the same suits or tuxedos as each other? Meanwhile the women are scrutinized to within an inch of their lives and can never wear the same outfit again.
Keira’s pre-BAFTA dress is too sisterwives for me. I rather liked her Valli number. Reese’s purple gown is gorgeous. Love the rich color and the simplicity of line.

I was wondering that too. They’re not nominated in the same category, they weren’t in the same movie, they’re not wearing dresses from the same designer, or even similar style dresses. Why are they pitted against each other?
Plus, one is pregnant and the other isn’t.
I think Keira’s dresses are kind of funny-looking, but I kind of like that she’s dressing for her comfort during her pregnancy rather than trying to pose awkwardly like Blake Lively on the red carpet in a dress that looks glued to her and her stomach.

Reese’s dress looks pretty in pictures but it was way too tight and she looked rather ridiculous on-stage, when she had trouble walking. I can’t imagine she was comfortable. Keira’s dress is not the prettiest but It looks like right now for her, comfort is the biggest factor in choosing dresses. No cleavage, no tightness, no platform shoes. I won’t blame her.

I continue to not get the Big Woo over Keira Knightly. I seriously don’t believe this woman was born in 1985 and will only be 30-years old next month. She looked years older than Chris Pine in the “Jack Ryan” film and Captain Fine will be 35 this year.

Keira’s style has always been cringe-worthy. Her oregnancy has brought her to a new level of hideous style.
I liked the white strapless Valentino from years ago plus her wedding dress, otherwise, I agree generally awful.
I cannot believe that hideous patchwork floral *thing* is Chanel.
I caught a snippet of the red carpet, Keira’s BAFTA dress wasn’t the one she had planned to wear, the one she wanted suddenly didn’t fit (I assume because of baby, her and Edith Bowman were chatting about being pregnant)

Loved the color and fit of Reese’s dress. I am still impressed that she was behind getting two of the most women-centric films this year made. I wonder what else they have in the pipeline? Keira’s pre-BAFTA dress I would have liked better as a maxi-dress. To me, the gold std of horrendous maternity fashion will forever be Kim K- and Keira has a long way to go bef she fits that level.

I like all of these except the Chanel resort. My fave is the little Chanel on Reese, it is so cute even though I can’t really stand her..
On the red carpet, Reese was wearing some guy’s tux jacket and Keira was wearing an awesome black leather jacket, that looked like Chanel. Keira wins for the jacket.
That’s what I thought too, Keira’s leather jacket over that dress was amazing. I wish she had kept it on.

Totally off-topic- watched Water for Elephants over the weekend-costuming for that movie was amazing. Also, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca and the Zefferelli Romeo and Juliet- it was a costuming fest!
Keira has gone all floral since becoming pregnant which is a great way to disguise the bump because that’s all people will talk about and she probably doesn’t want that.
Kiera’s dress in the top pic could have knocked it out of the park with a less busy bodice. The hair, overall cut of the dress, and the shoes were fine.
However, I’m not too crazy about Reese’s KP dress. I think it could have been a little longer to balance out the overall silhouette?
But then again, what do I know? I wear jeans and tee shirts all the time!
poor james righton clearly has a problem with his legs..it looks to me he never knows what kind of pose he has to put on. Been noticing this since they got together. Awkward.
