Johnny Depp (shown here in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl) is already back to work after marrying Amber Heard last month in the Bahamas. Johnny returned to his bread and butter, the Pirates franchise. He touched down in Australia last week and didn’t stay long. Johnny injured himself badly enough that he must return to the states for surgery. Insiders were quick to point out that the injury did not happen on set, and production won’t be halted. They’ll shoot around the Jack Sparrow character for a few weeks until Johnny returns:
Johnny Depp suffered an injury while on location for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in Australia over the weekend, Variety has confirmed.
According to insiders, Depp will be flown back to the United States to have surgery. He was not working at the time of his injury, and just how Depp, 51, hurt himself was not disclosed.
Production is expected to be minimally impacted by the star’s absence — scenes will be shot around Depp’s character, Captain Jack Sparrow, for the next few weeks.

I hope Johnny’s okay. The details from the studio are as murky and mysterious as we should expect. E! has a photo of Johnny with a bandage covering his arm and hand. It looks like his hand is covered in duct tape. He’s smiling, but the injury is serious enough that he’s coming home to receive medical care.
Walt Disney Pictures says the film’s release date won’t be affected by the loss of their main character for a a few weeks. I guess they’ll shoot some scenes with the ghost pirates or the “terrifying Captain Salazar,” played by Javier Bardem. Then Captain Jack can come back and find the Trident of Poseidon. This franchise, so weird.

He flew back to be with his family, his mother can’t go on planes.
Why return Stateside for surgery? Are there no surgeons in Australia?

Lainey doesn’t make any sense because Marilyn Manson was only for a day on Brisbane. He was coming from a concert in Melbourne the day before and the he flew the next day to a concert in Sidney (and Johnny didn’t follow) and now he’s already in a tour in America since like two weeks
the blind was definitely for them,there is no doubt about it.The fact is that since almost every rumour about them is made up I would be really surprised if Lainey does have trustworthy sources about them.Lainey and ”her” sources don’t make any sense since Johnny and Marilyn are away from each other for the last weeks(except the concert).
Why do we need a fifth Pirates movie?
I understand that people do not like the amount of sequels there are, but you do not need to watch them. I do not care the majority of blockbusters (last year I only saw Hunger Games and Hobbit sequels and I will watch Into the Woods when it cames to my country). But I love the Pirates franchise and have been waiting a new film forever. Since the last film made over billion dollars I do not think I am alone.
And original blockbusters keep flopping witch is why studios make less of them. They should make them more unique and improve the quality. However since star power means little and TV is better these days, mostly franchises that are based on something already popular and look great on big screen are the ones that survive.
Pirates 5? Two Ghostbusters movies? Are there ANY original ideas in Hollyweird anymore?
And if I had to guess, I’d say Johnny simply doens’t have his heart in it anymore and is just doing it for the paycheck. Sad.
No, there are zero new ideas in Hollywood.
BUT there is a Gem and The Holograms movie in production that I am really, really, excited about. (Synergy 4eva)
I can’t believe there’s going to be a 5th pirate’s movie. This going to rival Friday the 13th in the unnecessary sequels department.
Though I do wish him well, I just clicked on this to count his accessories in each photo.
My original guess (now confirmed) is that he wears a minimum of six.

It makes sense that he would get immediate treatment for any hand injury. He loves playing guitar, and wouldn’t want to risk losing his ability over another dumb pirate movie.
So sorry. Great publicity for the pirate though, you have to hand it to them.
