Drake was only grossed out by Madonna’s lipstick, not Madonna’s kiss

FFN_Coachella_Day3B_PRROCP_041215_51709381

On Sunday night, Drake performed at Coachella. In what was clearly a rehearsed bit, Madonna suddenly joined him on stage. He was seated and she came up behind him, pulled his head back and kissed him. Well, she INHALED him. She tried to eat his face, more like. Here’s the video:

Since this was obviously rehearsed, many wondered why Drake seemed to be so “grossed out” by the kiss after it was over. He grimaces and wipes his mouth as if he tasted something disgusting. As it turns out, he was grossed out, but not about Madonna as a person. He just thought her lipstick was gross.

Drake was not grossed out when Madonna planted a prolonged lip-lock on him at Coachella Sunday night … his reaction was all about lipstick aftertaste. Sources close to Drake tell TMZ … he loved the kiss. As for whether the kiss was prearranged, Drake says it wasn’t … the plan was for Madonna to dance around him while he sat in the chair.

Drake says he was not banking on a transfer of the glossy stuff and that’s why he blanched.

[From TMZ]

Bulls—t. I mean, it’s totally possible that she was wearing some cryptkeeper-tasting lipstick, but the rest of it is crap. Drake and Madge totally rehearsed the kiss and he was supposed to be into it. He pulled a face and that wasn’t what they rehearsed!!

Incidentally, Madonna recently named Drake as her “dream date”. She’s into him and of course she wanted to kiss him. I hope Drake does take her out on a date. Drake might want Madge to put on some weight though.

Probably crap, but I will say DH hates lipstick and gloss and makes me wipe it off for kisses.

    • springingforward says:

I don’t think it was planned; Madonna always goes for the shock value.

Poor Drake, he looks as though he is about to hurl…… Madonna must sport some serious halitosis.

(Her lipgloss? Puhleeze. The release reads just like a PR statement trying to save Madonna’s rep. Who wants to be known as a geriatric try-hard with bad breath?)

    • Zwella Ingrid says:

My husband hates lipstick too, and will avoid kissing me when I have it on. Just saying this could be partly true. Lipstick apparently picks up grossness pretty quickly. We who wear it don’t notice it like the “kiss-ee” does…More than likely it is old woman bad breath. I have to beat mine down every day, and its not always successful. My guess is this is a made up excuse to cover the fact that Drake was grossed out for real by Madge.

  2. daisyfly says:

I think the act of kissing was planned. I don’t think he intended to have her taste what he had for breakfast or know who she had for lunch.

    • The Other Pinky says:

Yeah, I think there was some serious spit drip because of that mama-baby bird positioning. I hear there are people who like their kisses wet…..not me and clearly not Drake.

      • I Choose Me says:

Not me either. And I’m not thanking you for the visual. But he could be telling the truth about the lipstick. I’ve tasted my own lipstick a time or two when I was eating something and it was bitter and sticky and made me cringe.

    • Audrey says:

Drake is a hero. Most hilarious thing I’ve seen in a while

    • chaine says:

Sorry, Madonna, as a middle-aged lady, I don’t feel at all empowered by that Mary Kay Letourneau wannabe debacle.

  3. jinni says:

That was a punk ass Justin Timberlake move. He is an actor he could have faked it even if the lipstick tasted bad or whatever other lame excuse he wants to make up for screwing up their rehearsed famewhore move.

  4. Esmom says:

    Eww.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Blech. Pfttt.

      • als says:

        Exactly, jinni.
There’s no excuse – he acted like a delicate flower’s ass.
It serves Madonna right, she always has horrible taste in men.

      • Zwella Ingrid says:

Having a hard time, choking on laughter! That is my new favorite saying: “acting like a delicate flower’s ass.” !!!!!!

  5. Little Darling says:

As if Coachella and the swarms of ridiculously dressed pseudo hipsters or whatever they are wasn’t gross enough, THIS comes out of the woodwork. This whole entire spectacle is so gross on so many levels. Madge, grow the eff up! She’s not even remotely sexy or the sex symbol that she thinks she is in her mind. It’s just plain nasty that she keeps sucking the Pop youth dry in an effort to remain relevant.

The thing is, she doesn’t even need all the gimmick. She is an icon in her own right. She will always have a fan base. This just cheapens her waaaay more than necessary.

  6. MariaTR says:

I have such second-hand embarrassment for her. Unless he didn’t know she was gonna do that. In which case, she’s a jerk.

    • LadyMTL says:

eTalk (an entertainment show here in Canada) claims that it wasn’t rehearsed or staged, but I’m not sure that I buy it. Since when does Madonna leave things up to chance like that?

      • Jayna says:

Why would he invite Madonna to come out and Madonna fly out for a “surprise’ appearance just to walk around on stage for a few moments singing an old hit?

Why would Drake bring a chair out towards the end of her performance and sit down in the middle of the stage just to have her walk suggestively around him a few times singing and leave? There’s nothing to that for this big surprise of Madonna coming on, after their tweeting.

Then when you listen to the whole performance, when Madonna starts kissing him, the audience goes crazy the whole time.

That’s the moment they scripted and planned for, the big moment. Maybe they didn’t rehearse that exact kiss so it would be a surprise, but it was planned.

Drake saying the kiss was a surprise is just him wanting to hype it and not admit they scripted everything down to the second.

  7. insomniac says:

Hahaha, right. That face he pulled looked like a little kid who was forced to kiss the aunt with the big nasty moustache. Lipstick, my foot.

  8. Jayna says:

Meh,, this was all planned. Their tweets, when you look back and read them, were a setup, too. The words in the tweets referring to words in the song, Hung Up. Madonna saying she just wanted one kiss from Drake and that’s all. Now it all makes sense. He had invited her to come do a bit in his routine. They had planned this and their flirting in tweets was just hints.

Then he went and spoiled it by his reaction. LOL I agree they rehearsed it before. It wasn’t some surprise kiss for him. Of course, right after he wiped his mouth he said to the audience, Wha the Fvck just happened, laughing? The audience did go crazy for the kiss, so I guess their shtick worked there, not so much for living on on the internet with his instant reaction being the “moment” that is being talked about everywhere, poking fun at Madonna.

Now, Madonna’s big push to show women are sexual at 56 on stage just turned into a joke on her. Behind the scenes I imagine Madge is furious. Although, she doesn’t act like it on twitter. So maybe not with her. Who knows anymore with Madonna. I can’t figure her out.

I do love the song Ghosttown, though. The best single she’s done in ages. Singing Human Nature and Hung Up in Drake’s show and being all sexual on stage has been done to death, like her last tour. A newer song would have been better.

    • RaRaRasputin says:

I don’t think there is a limit to when a woman can be sexy BUT these forced shows are anything but. It would be the same if a 50 year old man kissed a younger woman on stage. It would seem pathetic and desperate, even creepy, which it also was in this case.

      • Jib says:

Clooney and Amal, Derek Jeter and his 24 year old model girlfriend – they are all OK in our society, but when Madonna kisses a younger man, it’s all EWWWWWW! I’m not saying you are like that, but many people are.

  9. Nebby says:

I don’t think that was rehearsed. I’m sure Drake could have pulled together a better face if it were. And if it was rehearsed maybe the plan was for a peck and not to have his soul sucked out of him.

    • Jayna says:

A peck? LOL He’s going for the shock value, not some peck. He’s hip hop. The hot kiss was planned. Probably not rehearsed, so it wouldn’t get out and it would be a surprise, just scripted how she would come from behind and tilt his head back and go for it.

He tried to reach up and stroke her hair twice, and she pushed his hands down twice. Madonna was too worried about getting her weave pulled off or just doing her shtick, that she was in control, coming there to get a kiss and leave. So instead the poor guy had no control when kissing with his head back, just Madonna bearing down on him. So it was probably a hot mess up there on stage when she finished, all that sticky lipstick and saliva smudged all over his face and mouth.

At least, in her Ghosttown music video, having Terrence Howard as her love interest was refreshing, in that she used an actor in her video that was age appropriate. Madonna did look sexy because of that, compared to her usual 20 somethings in the music videos lately. Seeing her with a big, masculine man in a suit in her video over the age of 45 and not all buff like a gym rat, really gave her a sexiness she hasn’t had in years.

Madge, in her performances, is always the one in control sexually, not used by a man. Madge became the joke, instead of the woman in control on stage that she was trying to portray. That’s what she gets for being with a boy. A real man would have taken control of that kiss. Time to put away the boy toys, Madge.

      LOL

      • Nebby says:

Yes he’s hip hop but Madonna is the professional shocker that’s her shtick. Either way if they planned kissing that doesn’t look like the kiss he intended on.

  10. Jaded says:

I’m sure a “kiss” was rehearsed, but not necessarily that one. I mean she ate his face…he probably got enough lip gloss and saliva to grease a car engine.

  11. Ally8 says:

Was she wearing her grille? That couldn’t have helped if so.

  12. MrsBPitt says:

She looked like she was trying to suck the youth out of him….

  13. smee says:

    I hate everything about this.

Lipstick or not, his message was “kissing a 56 year old woman is gross”. Ageist b.s.

Of course, Madonna is bizzy showing everyone how hip and fun she is that I’m mortified for her. She needs to deal with aging in a more realistic way.

    • Marie-France says:

Agree with everything Smee said. Why is Drake always sitting on a chair looking half asleep with women doing sexy dances around him? What a bore.

    • MaiGirl says:

I really don’t see agism here, though I agree that some commenters are making ageist remarks that are uncalled for and misogynist (“Yuck! Polident!”), I don’t think that age was the factor in Drake’s reaction. That kiss was just as wet and abysmal as Liza Minnelli and David Gest’s fish kiss! She unhinged her jaw and tried to inhale his innards, basically, and I’m sure she was sweaty and drooly, especially if she was wearing the grill (and God only knows what disgusting stuff could be caught in there!). And she wouldn’t let him try to get any control of her lamprey action, batting his hand away. It wasn’t the kindest reaction, but I think he was just really grossed out (which I think is understandable) and if she had kissed him like a normal person, Drake would have responded positively.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Serious question – I’m 58, and to be honest, it does gross me out because of her age. I have dated younger men when I was in my 30s, but something about a woman my age grabbing and what looks like forcing a kiss on a man that young repulses me. Am I ageist? I would feel the same way, btw, maybe even worse, if the sexes were reversed.

    • meh says:

It’s not gross because of her age. It’s gross because it really looks like he wasn’t expecting, and did not consent to being kissed that deeply. He will never admit to this and we will never know for sure, but when I watch this video, it looks like he was sexually assaulted publicly. I don’t think his reaction had anything to do with her age.

    • Ange says:

Or maybe it was just yucky and tasted bad? Not everything has to have some -ist connotation.

  14. bette says:

Nothing is “shocking” about Madonna doing this. It would be more shocking if she actually would reign in her non-sensual sexuality from time to time.

    • OhDear says:

She’s trying to use what worked for her in the past, but now she’s trying so hard to stay relevant that it’s boring.

Though part of me wouldn’t be surprised if they planned his reaction so that people would be talking about her.

  15. Ameoba says:

Oh Madge!! Keep it in your pants please. Or control and stick to plan.

I bet she wanted to do more than what the plan was. And she did. She probably tried to go straight for tonsil hockey and he gagged. He was really caught unaware. Lol.

  16. Pip says:

Ergh. I don’t doubt it was staged too and maybe I’m overreacting but I hate that their trying to make out he had no idea but it was totally cool/ fine/ normal because hey guess what forcibly kissing someone without their consent and where they’re in a position where they can’t really push you off is assault. She made herself look like a ridiculous predator… can’t believe they signed off on this.

    • MaiGirl says:

I agree. This whole thing backfired on her completely, making her look like the old, desperate, broke-down lush at the bar getting too “friendly” with the hapless young bartender. I wish she would just claim what an icon she is and stop trying to prove something. I don’t even like her music now, but I admire someone who was able to stay on top for so long. Why she won’t evolve is beyond me.

  17. MonicaQ says:

I’m sorry, I’m dying over here. It reminded me of The Mummy when said mummy started absorbing the life force of people.

On the other hand, I’ve heard this was not staged and I believe it; look at how she grabs his hand he raises it. If this was say, Mick Jagger doing this to say Ariana Grande while not rehearsing it, there would be “omg he’s a creeper ew no stop”. But Madonna is all “empowered” or some crap so this is ok.

  18. Madpoe says:

Name change from Drake to Dread… to be announced….

  19. lower-case deb says:

i kept waiting for the video to show Drake shrunk right up to a husk after being eaten like that.

    • PrincessMe says:

LOL. I didn’t watch the video, but I seriously burst out laughing after reading this. People in my office probably think I’m crazy.

  20. mandygirl says:

Ewww. She looks like she’s trying to suck out his soul. Retire already. Jeez.

  21. Dani says:

He reaches up to hold her head and she pushes him away – he clearly wasn’t hating it. I read I think on Bossip that her grill caught his lip and that’s why he pulled the face. Regardless, it’s tacky and over done.

  22. meme says:

well that didn’t take long. I don’t understand why some celebs bother reading tweets about themselves. Why do they care? They have fans who worship them so big whoop someone tweets something bad.

  23. Julie says:

See, I didn’t really think he looked grossed out. I thought it looked like he was laughing at how over-the-top the kiss was. Just me?

    • perplexed says:

I thought maybe (just maybe) he was trying to do the “Damn, girl! You so fine or whatever” face that seems to be popular on sitcoms, but maybe his “Damn, girl” face unwittingly looks like the face you make when you want to vomit? Anything is possible…

  24. ccinkissimmee says:

Staged or not, she looks like she tastse like sadness and cigarettes. Poor Drake..there’s not enough mouthwash to rinse the regret from his lips. I wish I could rewind this video and unwatch it somehow.

  25. QQ says:

two things: Madonna is too Old to be this thirsty for attention making out with toung people on stage etc it’s both old, tried, not novel and uncute

as for Drake.. is this who he is Now: Chair Guy??: you know agitprop for dancing/dating/grinding upon/fake gossip fodder??!! Like what pop star is next going to use him for some sit in the chair and see what happens?? *eyerolls all around*

  26. Amy says:

Smh…and all this could have been avoided if she stopped trying to pull these same tired ol 90’s stunts.

Maybe Drake expected Madonna to dance around him in the chair, THAT has happened in many performances including Nicki leaving him breathless.

His reaction tho to that kiss…something went horribly wrong somewhere and now she looks older and even more desperate than usual.

  27. Amy says:

His face after the kiss says, “When you realize you just got knocked back to the bottom.”

  28. FingerBinger says:

Drake should have had a more adult reaction to the kiss. He acted a little boy forced to kiss aunt Sheila with the mustache.

  29. Leah says:

He has his hand on her head so he was obviously in on this. Its not like she forced herself on him. He embarrassed her which i think is kind of shitty. Yeah she looks desperate but its kind of easy for society to go after her because she is an older woman. He’s an actor i am sure he could have held back on the disgust until he got of stage. He looks immature and and she looks desperate. Not a good look for either

    • Jayna says:

I totally agree. Drake was unprofessional. She flew out there to do his show. At least, don’t embarrass her. Madonna’s shtick is old. She’s done a variation of this performance (before the kiss) too many times. The kiss is passe for her also.

  30. Cindy says:

That was hard to watch. My guess is a kiss was planned, but Madonna just sort of attacked him instead. She may have also been sweaty from dancing and that combined with her knocking his hand away was more than he expected. Why doesn’t Madonna seem to have any insight into her sad/desperate behavior and how it is perceived? I mean, we see it, why can’t she?

It was sh*tty for Drake to act like a 5 year old who just had to kiss his grandma though….I feel sorry for Madonna.

  31. WTF says:

That was gross on a lot of levels. I think seeing Drake react the way any of us would react if we had to kiss the cryptkeeper makes it hilarious!

  32. Fan says:

Madonna would not have kissed him if it were not planned.

  33. A.Key says:

I’m sure a KISS was planned, but not a Dementhor soul-sucking experience.
She overdid it, as she usually does, trying to be edgy and remain relevant.

  34. Jayna says:

I liked Madonna’s Ghosttown music video with Terrence Howard and I liked her Stevie Nicks inspired look. It’s probably her best song in years, and seeing her with a man, not a boy toy, is where she needs to go. If she wants to prove you can still be sexual and sexy in your mid fifties, you don’t need boy toys to prove that. In fact, it just makes her look older with boys in their 20s, and desperate. Using a man for a change when casting was the best thing she’s done in making a video. She doesn’t look like a caricature of herself. And it’s the first time the diamond grillz have worked for me. I thought they worked in this video. Jonas Akerlund directed it.

    Ghosttown.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgDxv0Qg_Rg

    • Cirque28 says:

Agreed, she is downright beautiful in this video and Terrence Howard is a great choice. Stevie’s look always works!

  35. Santolina says:

How many of these epic fails, misfires, pratfalls and embarrassments have to happen before Madge learns that her narcissistic attempts to be cool, sexy and relevant are PATHETIC.

  36. perplexed says:

I’m sure it was planned, but why didn’t they rehearse the bit properly to avoid anything embarrassing?

If it wasn’t planned (although I have my doubts that it wasn’t), then she got the reaction she deserved and I don’t think he’s being ageist — truthfully, most people of either gender, I assume, probably prefer kissing people either 10 years up max or 10 years down max, but beyond that, I’m not sure…

It’s hard to say whether Rihanna would enjoy kissing Bono…but then I don’t think Bono would put himself in the position of finding out the hard way publicly that she doesn’t.

  37. Cinderella says:

He was in it at first, but something crept up and made him nearly gag. Maybe too much of her saliva (yuck) coupled with a lack of oxygen.

  38. Cirque28 says:

Madonna has been rumored to have poor personal hygiene and bad breath for many years.

However, I do think Drake behaved unprofessionally by pulling such a face. Poor Madonna. She can totally take a punch for being controversial, but she’s not used to being pitiable.

  39. wow says:

    Lol!

Drake didn’t want Madge’s vadge or lips near any parts of him it seem.

Why is she always trying to literally suck the life out of popular young artist by kissing them? It’s way over done.

  40. Imo says:

When Adrian attack kissed Halle Berry everyone was outraged for her. I don’t understand the comments that Drake should have been more professional.
But the other comments are giving me laughing fits. I love cb.

  41. word says:

She’s been with a lot of men, he’s been with a lot of women. The amount of grossness in saliva exchanged makes me want to puke. I am so grossed out by that kiss. LOL sorry.

  42. Veronica says:

I love me some Drake, but I agree with Lainey that making the face made the whole conversation about THE FACE instead of the performance, IF it was part of the show. If it wasn’t, that’s another issue entirely.

(Though I could believe to some extent it was lipstick – some of those stage-worthy lip brands have a pretty strong synthetic flavor because they’re made to stick like iron.)

  43. Alexis says:

Even if a kiss was planned Madonna should have (1) kept it to a peck and not tongued and swapped spit excessively (it seems he consented to a little kiss, not a slobber session), and (2) made sure her mouth was minty fresh with no odd tastes in or around it. In failing to do those things, Madonna’s the one who was unprofessional. Drake’s face does tend to betray that something gross was in her spit or on her breath or mouth. The media’s handling this in an ageist way, but I don’t think Drake himself was being ageist. I believe him when he says something tasted gross on Madonna’s mouth, not that he was overwhelmed with Madonna’s ugliness or anything, and he’s taken up for Madonna with this statement, which IS highly professional, more than JT ever did for Janet, for example.

  44. RaRaRasputin says:

What kind of lipstick tastes or smells gross? Madonna is a multi-million dollar artist; I am sure she can afford high quality make-up.

That said, Madonna is always kissing everyone. Remember her bizarre kissing of Britney and Christina? If a much older male artist kissed a younger female singer unplanned or even planned there would be outcry and rightly so. Why is Madonna able to get away with it? Why SHOULD Drake be okay with being forcibly kissed? Why do these events and artists keep forcing their fake sexuality on us? They all whore themselves out for cash.

When Madonna kissed Britney and Christina it was supposed to feed into bisexual/lesbian/threesome fantasies; what place does that have at a music show that kids watch? Similarly, is Drake trying to get in with the cougar fanbase? Is M trying to market herself as a cougar? What is the point of the kiss? Why can’t singers get on stage and SING and DANCE without giving us all a crap shoot sex show.

    • venus velvet says:

Exactly, first Britney, then Christina, now Drake (thought Miley was in there somewhere, but maybe had her mixed up). Who’s she going to ambush next for attention? What is remotely sexy about this?

  45. anne_000 says:

I don’t see anything that would place the blame on Drake.

Some people who blame Drake are also saying that there might have been something to Madonna’s kiss (like bad breath or over-salivating into Drake’s mouth or whatever). But then they say that Drake should have been ‘professional’ enough to suppress a reaction? Why? Isn’t Madonna the one who’s been a professional longer? She should have done what it takes to make sure she didn’t offend the other person she’s kissing. She’s been in movies and videos that have had her kissing so she knows what she should have done to make it more pleasant for the other person.

This just shows how unprofessional Madonna is towards her ‘working partner’ and how desperate she is for audience reaction. She thought what she was doing was sexy, but it backfired on her and just brought to mind what many people were probably thinking about what it would be like to kiss her.

  46. yas says:

I’m sure they rehearsed a kiss, but there’s a difference between a hot human kiss and this, which, quite frankly, resembles a dementor’s kiss.

  47. Sue says:

I can only imagine the discussion around the Madonna’s dinner table with the “kids”. How mortifying for them.

  48. Tracy says:

    Yeah. Sure he was.

  49. TOPgirl says:

I would’ve been grossed out being kissed by an old woman! Ewwww. She is a “century” old…my god can’t she just retire and live a quiet life. Her music sucks now.

  50. phlyfiremama says:

Does anyone know the story of his dlisted nickname Wheelchair Jimmy?!
